Fallout Boy coming to Blossom in July

arena-emo-pop-punks Fall Out Boy will perform new songs and old favorites at Blossom Music Center on July 18 Pamela Littky

  • Malcolm X Abram, cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Arena emo-pop-punks Fall Out Boy will return to Blossom Music Center on Tuesday, July 18. Tickets for the show featuring openers Bring Me The Horizon go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 3, at Live Nation .

The multi-platinum-selling Chicago-bred quartet will be touring behind its new album “So Much (For) Stardust,” due out March 24. The first two singles were released in January, “Love From The Other Side” and “Heartbreak Feels So Good.”

The album will be the band’s eighth and first new full-length release since 2018′s “Mania,” which hit No. 1 (the band’s fourth chart topper) and garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

In the early 2000s, Fall Out Boy became a big band mixing the sounds and styles of emo and punk with singer-guitarist Patrick Stump’s knack for pop melodies and bassist-lyricist Pete Wentz’s emotional lyrics and funny song titles often steeped in irony. The band mainstreamed emo with their crossover appeal and catchy tunes such as “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down” and “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up).”

Bring Me The Horizon took the stage at the 2022 BRIT Awards where they joined Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran for an electrifying performance of “Bad Habits,” which was followed by the release of the official studio version on February 18th. this show was super super good! i didn’t have GA and bought practically the last row of seats, but one of security guards gave me and my girlfriend tickets for seats that were 19 rows closer, the energy was amazing and everyone was super nice! i could see so much from the new seats and was super happy!!! the pits were cool, a little sad more towards the end, but funny to watch people were narato running through them and were acting like airplanes running through them and whenever someone fell the other people picked them right up and they kept going, really fun to watch!!!!! oli came into the crown during drown and not just through the floor but through the stands too and i was super close to him!!!!! plus the person who came up on stage to sing antivist knew all the lyrics and had super good energy and was ready to keep the crowd hyped and people were still dancing and moshing while he was singing!

This show ranks among the most disappointing of my life.

That's not to say that the music itself was anything less than phenomenal, but there were so many on-stage distractions that they actually took away from the performance.

THEY HAD BACKUP DANCERS, Y'ALL!!!! And, I'm not taking Destiny's Child caliber dancers. Ohh no. Imagine, if you would, please a forth-grade single-day cheer camp. Yep :-/ That's not an exaggeration. The dancers were horrific to the point of insulting.

Should I be able to stop there, it might have been redeemable.

Sadly, I cannot.

The stage is backed by video monitors, and upon said screens plays this stream-of-consciousness screensaver. It felt rather like those daydreams one wakes from with a start.

They. Were. Awful.

In order to enjoy the music, I had to close my eyes, because there was so much distracting from it.

VERY DISAPPOINTING.

The show last night was beyond words.. Whenever BMTH comes to town here in Denver they always bring their A game with them!! I highly recommend seeing this band if they ever are in your state because they know how to put on a hell of a show!!! My favorite part of the show had to be when they ended up playing an encore as the crowd was chanting "we will never sleep cause sleepings for the weak no we will never rest until we are all f***ing dead" I don't think they could let a crowd down that was that energetic and responsive torwds the band, surely the band didn't dissapoint us at all and came back out from back stage to win all our hearts and finished the show off with thrones. BMTH also had suprised everyone in the audience with giant confetti flying in the air everywhere as the song climaxed to the final chorus. What a show for the books and i had no idea that so many people would attend the show lastnight. This was my second time seeing them play live, I didn't really care much for the opening bands thou.. I miss the days when parkway drive would open up for them back at the summit music hall.

Bring Me The Horizon drop album teaser: “It’s time for a new era”

Bring Me The Horizon drop album teaser: “It’s time for a new era”

Brace yourselves, because it looks like Bring Me The Horizon are gearing up to announce their long-awaited new album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn.

Having been delayed since last August , and with the guarantee from Oli Sykes that it’s going to be released “this summer” , the band have now shared a video teaser that confirms, “It’s time for a new era.”

Before we get to that part, though, this futuristic clip – which is simply captioned ‘press start’ – begins: “You cling to your virtual identity as if it were your very soul. Pathetic. I’m here to wipe away the detritus of your existence. All these thoughts, these memories, they are but a fleeting echo in an endless void. And just like that, you cease to exist in a digital realm. A mere blip erased from the annals of cyberspace. Farewell insignificant content.”

Then, comes the final part: “It’s time for a new era. Initialising NeX GEn.”

Eagle-eyed fans have also been able to pause one particular moment, which reads: “THE CHURCH OF GENXSIS welcomes you to a night at YOUTOPIA via NeX GEn. There is a home beyond our bones. P.H. II ??/??/2024.” So we’re guessing those question marks allude to the album release date, while maybe YOUTOPIA is a new single?!

Cannot. Wait.

Sleep Token are still touring to promote their third album, Take Me Back To Eden , which was released in May 2023 by Spinefarm.

The band have since inked a deal with major record label RCA .

Metal Hammer gave Take Me Back To Eden a glowing 8/10 review upon release.

Journalist Dannii Leivers wrote: “Combining feeling and sound in a potent, masterful statement, ...Eden is Sleep Token’s strongest effort to date.

“And, while they’ll always be Marmite, there’s no question it will delight those already onboard.

“This is a record that not only expands the band’s universe and continues to prod metal’s boundaries, but considers what it means to be human. Otherworldly they may be, but there’s the deepest empathy within.”

Hear ARCHITECT's new anthem "Curse" produced by BRING ME THE HORIZON alum JORDAN FISH

Back in December, Architects closed out 2023 with a bang, surprise-releasing a crushingly heavy new single called " Seeing Red " and announcing their first North American tour in five years. Now, the Brighton, England-bred metalcore trailblazers have resurfaced with another fiery new cut, the succinctly titled "Curse," and news of a follow-up run of U.S. dates this fall.

Maybe most intriguing, the heavy, anthemic "Curse" was produced by former Bring Me the Horizon keyboardist, percussionist and producer Jordan Fish , marking a U.K. metalcore dream-team pairing between Architects and the longtime BMTH cornerstone. Fish split with Bring Me in late 2023 and has since posted photos of himself at work in the studio with members of Spiritbox and Architects, among others, with "Curse" being the first fruit of those labors.

Stream the new Architects single above via YouTube, and check out the band's full 2024 North American itinerary below.

Bring Me The Horizon Drops Hints About Upcoming Album: 'It's Time for a New Era'

Bring Me The Horizon is finally getting ready to drop their new album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn .

The band confirmed that the record will come out sometime this year in a cryptic social media post on Wednesday, April 10.

"It’s time for a new era. Initialising NeX GEn," says a promotional video featuring an unsettling digital character.

"You cling to your virtual identity as if it were your very soul. Pathetic. I’m here to wipe away the detritus of your existence. All these thoughts, these memories, they are but a fleeting echo in an endless void. And just like that, you cease to exist in a digital realm. A mere blip erased from the annals of cyberspace. Farewell insignificant content."

At the end of the clip there's a small paragraph with another message: "THE CHURCH OF GENXSIS welcomes you to a night at YOUTOPIA via NeX GEn. There is a home beyond our bones. P.H. II ??/??/2024."

Frontman Oli Sykes first announced the upcoming album during the band's set at Download Festival in June.

The following month, the band revealed that the rollout would be delayed due to "unforeseen circumstances."

This will be Bring Me The Horizon's first full-length studio album since 2020's Post Human: Survival Horror . That record made it to No. 1 on the albums chart in the U.K., where it was also certified gold.

Bring Me The Horizon is currently in the midst of a brief Australian tour. The band revealed that guitarist Lee Malia will miss several upcoming concerts as he and his wife welcome their new baby.

"He will be back for future dates, but is taking some time out with the new addition to his family for this run," they said in a social media post on Wednesday.

The upcoming album will be Bring Me The Horizon's first release in more than a decade without longtime keyboardist and composer Jordan Fish , who produced the new Architects track " Curse ."

He first appeared on the 2013 LP Sempiternal , which made it to No. 3 on the albums chart in the U.K.

Fish played a key creative role as Bring Me The Horizon shifted toward pop rock with their 2015 record That's The Spirit . The band has been a household name in the U.K. and Australia ever since.

"We want to thank him for the musical journey he took with us and wish him luck with everything in the future," Bring Me The Horizon said when Fish departed in December.

The keyboardist released his own statement about the matter, as well.

"I’m really grateful for my 11 years with the band, and extremely proud of all that we have achieved together," he said. "I look forward to hearing what they do next, and wish them every success in the future. I’m excited to start this next chapter in my career."

The Sheffield band are due to begin a seven-date run of shows Down Under with a performance at the John Cain Arena in Melbourne tonight (April 10).

Further stop-offs are scheduled in Sydney (April 12, 14), Adelaide (17) and Brisbane (20, 21). A second Melbourne concert will take place at the Rod Laver Arena on April 18.

Ahead of today’s tour opener, BMTH took to social media to tell fans that Malia would not be part of the line-up for this stint.

Sleep Token will be supporting Bring Me The Horizon on their 2024 Australian tour along with Perth-formed metalcore band Make Them Suffer and Filipino-Australian dark pop artist Daine.

Last month saw BMTH win the Best Alternative/Rock Act award at the BRITs 2024 .  Speaking to  NME  at the ceremony , the group gave an update on when fans could expect their delayed next album, ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’ .

“It’s nearly finished, but it’s not finished,” explained frontman Oli Sykes .

“Every time we think we’ve got it, we get another song. It’s going to be right good though, it’s our best album ever… Worth the wait.”

You can check out the full video interview below.

In January  BMTH shared the single ‘Kool-Aid’ , which marked their first new music since  the departure of Jordan Fish . Meanwhile, there has been speculation over  potential collaborations with Underoath  and  Billie Eilish  on ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’.

Following their gigs in Australia, Bring Me The Horizon will play two shows in Las Vegas, Nevada (April 25, 26) before appearing at Sick New World Festival 2024 in Sin City (27). They’ll then head to Europe for a run of festivals, including Mad Cool in Spain and Southside in Germany.

In other news, Sykes has teamed up with Japanese horror manga artist Junji Ito for a new Drop Dead clothing collection .
