'Knuckles' Cast and Character Guide: Who's in the 'Sonic' Series Spinoff?

T he highly anticipated "Sonic the Hedgehog" TV series spinoff, "Knuckles," is here and it includes a smashingly great cast that's ready to hit you with your favorite Sega characters.

The six-episode live-action series made its premiere on Friday, April 26. According to Paramount+, the series "follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior." The show takes place between the films "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" and "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" and was made by many of the same people involved in the films.

The series was created for television by John Whittington and Toby Ascher, who also serve as showrunners during production. 

Here's a complete "Knuckles" cast and character guide. All six episodes are now streaming on Paramount+.

Idris Elba as Knuckles

Idris Elba reprises his role as Sonic the Hedgehog's right-hand-man and solo fighter Knuckles the Echidna.

Elba's acting career spans over 20 years, with his standout role being Stringer Bell in HBO's "The Wire." Some of his other performances were in "Luther," "Hijack," "The Suicide Squad" and "Daddy's Little Girls."

Adam Pally as Wade Whipple

Actor Adam Pally stars as friendly police officer Wade Whipple, who protects the neighborhoods in Green Hills, Montana and helps out Knuckles when he can.

Pally's previous work includes "Happy Endings," "The Mindy Project," "Search Party" and "Who Invited Charlie?"

Edi Patterson as Wanda Whipple

Edi Patterson comes in as Wanda Whipple, an FBI agent, Wade Whipple's sister and Wendy Whipple's daughter.

Patterson, an actress and writer, has starred in several projects, including "The Righteous Gemstones," "The Underground," "Nutcrackers," "Partners" and more.

Stockard Channing as Wendy Whipple

Stockard Channing takes on the role of Wendy Whipple, the matriarch of the Whipple family.

The longtime actress is best known for playing Rizzo in the iconic musical film "Grease." She went on to have roles in "Six Degrees of Separation," "Where the Heart Is," "The West Wing" and "The First Wives Club."

Cary Elwes as "Pistol" Pete Whipple

Cary Elwes comes in as "Pistol" Pete Whipple. He's a 27-time bowling champion and the estranged father of Wade and Wanda Whipple.

Elwes' resume includes performances in "Saw," "The Princess Bride," "Ella Enchanted," "The Crush," "Twister," "Glory" and more.

Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi as Agent Mason

Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi stars as Agent Mason, a former Guardian Units of Nations member, who The Buyer hired to take down Knuckles in order to steal his power.

The rapper, songwriter and producer is mostly known as a musician, and gained much of his notoriety when he released his smash-hit song "Day 'n' Nite." He's also made a pivot into acting, nabbing parts in "X," "Need for Speed" and "Trolls Band Together."

Ellie Taylor as Agent Willoughby

Ellie Taylor plays Agent Willoughby, another one of the G.U.N. agents The Buyer hired to catch Knuckles.

The actress and TV personality previously worked on several film and TV projects, including "Ted Lasso," "Plebs," "The Great Pottery Throw Down," "Strictly Come Dancing" and more.

Rory McCann as The Buyer

Rory McCann steps in as The Buyer, the show's main antagonist and a former agent of Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik." He's taken hold of all of Eggman's equipment.

Most fans recognize McCann from his role as The Hound in HBO's "Game of Thrones" or as Michael "Lurch" Armstrong in "Hot Fuzz." He's also starred in "Jumanji: The Next Level," "Slow West" and "The Group."

Christopher Lloyd as Pachacamac

Legendary actor Christopher Lloyd is Mac in "Knuckles." He's an anthropomorphic echidna who used to be the leader of the Knuckles Clan. He's also Knuckles' ancestor.

From "The Page Master," "The Addams Family," "Back to the Future," "Clue,

"Anastasia" and more, Lloyd's career spans over 40 years.

JonMarc Grodi’s interest in helping people understand the Catholic faith goes back to his childhood. His father, Marcus, a former Presbyterian minister, brought their whole family into the Church when JonMarc was only five years old. Growing up around converts and those exploring the Catholic faith, he learned to appreciate the gift of what it means to be Catholic, and how to effectively communicate the beauty and truth of the Faith with those seeking a home in the Church. 

JonMarc went on to work in campus ministry while pursuing his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Bowling Green State University, and later earned a Masters Degree in Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Throughout this time, he remained connected to the mission that his father started with the Coming Home Network, and in 2022, JonMarc became Executive Director of the organization. 

After 25 years of hosting The Journey Home on EWTN, Marcus Grodi passed the torch to his son JonMarc, who in his role as the new host brings to the program a lifetime of experience working with Catholic converts. 

JonMarc lives with his wife, Teresa, and their six children in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Andie macdowell - del landry.

Known for being the matriarch of the Landry clan, Del (played by Andie MacDowell) has helped keep the family farm afloat for years. Just like anyone, Del has skeletons in her closet, something she will have to address with her friends and family in Season 2.

MacDowell is best known for her roles in Groundhog Day , Sex, Lies, and Videotape , and Four Weddings and a Funeral . 

Chyler Leigh - Kat Landry

The daughter of Del and the middle-generation Landry woman is Chyler Leigh's Kat (or Katherine). Kat is a hard-nosed, stubborn city girl and mother, having left the family farm and fracturing the family. Kat is dragged back into her mother's life when her daughter, Alice, discovers a time-traveling pond on the Landry farm. 

Leigh's previous credits include Not Another Teen Movie , Brake , and CW's Supergirl . 

Evan Williams - Elliot Augustine

Evan Williams takes on the role of Elliot Augustine, a longtime friend of the Landry family. Though is not a Landry himself, he gets tangled in the family's time-traveling web after harboring romantic feelings for Chyler Leigh's Kat. 

Williams will be familiar to fans of Netflix's Blonde , Versailles , and Awkward .

Sadie Laflamme-Snow - Alice Dhawan

Alice Dhawan (played by Sadie Laflamme-Snow) is the youngest Landry girl and Kat's teenage daughter. After the family fractured years ago, Alice brings them back together after offering a peek into the past to better understand one another via a local pond with time-traveling powers. 

Laflamme-Snow can also be seen in Cascade and Slasher . 

Alex Hook - Teen Kat Landry

After traveling back to the past, Alice befriends a teen version of her mother, Kat Landry (played by Alex Hook), as the modern-day adolescent gets a better understanding of who her mother is and why she made the decisions she did. 

Hook's resume includes appearances on I Am Frankie , Contractors , and A Nutcracker Christmas . 

Al Mukadam - Brady Dhawan

Al Mukadam plays Brady Dhawan, the father of Alice and the ex-husband of Kat. It is the divorce between Brady and Kat that sets The Way Home in motion. Following the split, Kat felt the need to reconnect with her home, sending the Landrys on this time-traveling journey. 

Mukadam is best known for his work on Miss Sloane , Kodachrome , and The Details . 

Jefferson Brown - Colton Landry

Appearing only in the series' signature flashback sequences, Jefferson Brown brings to life Colton Landry. Colton is Kat's father and the patriarch of the Landry family who sadly died before the present-day timeline of the show. But the family - and audiences - get to know him through The Way Home 's time-hopping twist. 

Brown's previous popped up in RED , the 2013 Carrie remake, and Mr. Viral . 

David Webster - Teen Elliot Augustine

David Webster plays the teenage version of Evan Williams' Elliot Augustine. During her adventures in the past, Alice becomes a little too close to Elliot, potentially threatening the fabric of the reality she calls home.

Webster's past credits include The Boys , Luckiest Girl Alive , and Odd Squad .

Siddarth Sharma - Teen Brady Dhawan

In the past timeline, teen Brady Dhawan is played by Siddarth Sharma. After Alice befriends her mother in the past, she has to ensure Brady and Kat end up together or else she would cease to exist. 

Sharma will be familiar to those who have seen Gen V , Children Ruin Everything , and In the Dark . 

Remy Smith - Jacob Landry

Remy Smith brings to life Jacob Landry in The Way Home . Jacob - the younger brother of Kat - has been presumed dead for decades but pops up as a kid in the 1990's flashback scenes. 

The Way Home marks Smith's major TV acting debut. 

The Way Home Season 2 continues on Hallmark Channel with new episodes airing on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.

A Look Back on Kyle Richards' American Woman TV Series Inspired By Her Mother

The RHOBH cast member executive produced the one-season sitcom loosely based on her mother's life.

Kyle Richards ’ entertainment credits go way beyond the Bravo-verse , including the short-lived  American Woman  television series, which found Kyle in a new role as a producer.

In 2015, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills  mom began developing  American Woman.  Set in the 1970s,  American Woman was a comedy-drama TV series that was loosely based on  her late mother, Kathleen Richards . It  starred Alicia Silverstone as Bonnie Nolan  in the leading role as the posh divorced mom.

Kyle has been very vocal about the pride she felt in making the show, despite the family rift it ignited, with Kathy insisting it portrayed their mom in a "bad light."

Kyle Richards Explains the Inspiration for American Woman

Kyle spoke about American Woman  in a 2017 interview with The Daily Dish , more than a year before the series premiered.

“ American Woman  is the pilot I just shot, and it just got picked up for 12 episodes,” she said. “It is my first job as a television producer. I’m not in front of the camera — at all — and it is inspired by my life growing up in the ‘70s.”

“We wanted to really feel like you were in the ‘70s and not having a costume party,” she continued. “The ‘70s was my favorite time: the music, the clothing. It just feels like kind of a crazy, reckless time.”

Alicia Silverstone on starring in Kyle Richards' American Woman

Alicia Silverstone spoke to  As If magazine  about what it was like to play a fictionalized version of Kyle's mom, Kathleen, in the series.

"I wasn’t familiar with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , so I didn’t know who she was. What I did know going into that room was the show was about a woman’s mother who was very eccentric. The stories I was told about this woman sounded fantastic and very wild, and for her time she was a trailblazer in how she handled things alone, which women did not do in the 70s. Back then, a woman couldn’t get a loan out on a house in her own name, she needed to get a man involved. I just love the line in the pilot where my character says to her husband, 'if you would just give me a little bit of money, I wouldn’t have to ask you all the time.' She was entirely dependent on him."

The series tracked Bonnie's evolution after she leaves her husband and embarks on a journey of self discovery and navigating being a single mom. When speaking to  As If,  Alicia addressed playing a complicated fictional person based on an equally-complicated real person.

"What I find interesting about this character is Kyle loves her mom. When you talk to her, there’s no sense of damage done, which is kind of bazaar to me. She has such love for her mother," Alicia said in the interview. "[She was] terrified of embarking on this new life as a single mother. When I was in this meeting, I wondered when I would have to start my tap dance. When do I need to convince them that I am the best person for this part? I cried when I left the meeting because I knew I got the job!"

The series also starred Mena Suvari, Cheyenne Jackson, and James Tupper. 

Were Kathy Hilton and Kim Richards involved in  American Woman?

Kyle previously confirmed her older sisters, Kathy Hilton and Kim Richards, were not involved in the project, which caused some friction within the family.  

“I don’t think my sisters really understood what it was in the beginning,” she told  The Daily Dish . “I was like, ‘It’s not a reality show, it’s a scripted show inspired by [our childhood].’ The first announcement said it was a dark comedy, which kind of implied it could be sketchy or something. There’s moments, obviously… I didn’t have a traditional upbringing, which is very obvious in the show. But you know, it’s just going to be a fun show. I’m not here to torture anybody.”

How American Woman affected Kyle Richards' relationship with her family

During the RHOBH Season 8 reunion, Kyle admitted she and Kathy were still “not great” and it was largely due to American Woman . When asked if she and Kathy were on speaking terms with Kathy, Kyle told Andy Cohen : “Honestly, not right now, and that’s why I’m looking forward to her seeing  American Woman , because I think she’s gonna look and say, ‘I read the situation wrong,’ and then we’ll go from there.”

About two months after the American Woman premiere (June 2018), Kim insisted she and Kyle were on “good” terms . However, there was still some tension between Kyle and Kathy, who expressed her objections in RHOBH Season 11 Episode 14.

"It really put mom in such a bad, bad light," Kathy told Kyle about the series. "I just wouldn't do that without talking to you."

Kyle insisted American Woman was a "love letter" to their mom and was not biographical. "If it was a real story about mom and us, I wouldn't have done it, but it wasn't," Kyle replied. "I liked the idea of something in the '70s and seeing a single mom and how they didn't know how to navigate, you know, without their husband."

Although Kathy and Kyle would endure several ups and downs in the following years, they appear to be in a much better place these days.

American Woman gets canceled after one season

American Woman was canceled in the summer of 2018, just two weeks after its Season 1 finale. Kyle announced the news  via X (previously Twitter): “You guys … your comments are so nice and supportive. I can’t thank you enough,” she wrote. “You’ve made me feel even more proud of the show we made. It makes me happy knowing you came on this journey with me and ended up loving [ American Woman ].”

She expanded on the cancelation in an Instagram post and expressed hope the show would continue on another network (it did not).

“Thank you so much for watching [ American Woman ] and for all your support,” she wrote . “All of you have been so supportive and cheered me on and I am so appreciative. I’m so proud of the show we made and am so grateful for the talented team of people it took to create it. We put our hearts & souls into it. So many of you have expressed your love for the show. Maybe we will find it a new home.”

Kyle Richards remembers her mom, Kathleen Richards

While it's been over 20 years since Kathleen Richards  died of breast cancer in 2002 , she remains an important figure in Kyle's life . While appearing on the March 27 episode of the  Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa  podcast, Kyle opened up about her childhood and her relationship with her mom, Kathleen. During the conversation,  she shared how her daughters' bond  is very different than the one she developed with her siblings,   Kathy Hilton  and  Kim Richards , as a child, mostly due to the choices her mom made while raising them.

“They [my daughters] could not be more different than my sisters and me,” she said on the podcast. Kyle continued by revealing “some mistakes” her mom made by constantly comparing Kathy, Kim, and her to one other. “I do remember her like saying, ‘Why don’t you do this like so and so?’ To Kim, ‘Why don’t you do what Kyle does?’ Things like that,” Kyle said on the podcast.

New season, new countries. The 90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise cast is packed with new couples who want to explore their relationships with their significant others. Season 4 introduces four new couples and there’s drama abound.

There’s a lot of content to consume in the  90-Day Fiancé  universe. The original show follows couples who have received a K-1 visa, which is uniquely available to betrothed partners of US citizens.  The Other Way  is exactly what it sounds like—American couples who move to their partner’s home country. “It’s about love,”  90 Day Fiancé  executive producer, Matt Sharp, told  Gold Derby  in May 2022 when asked what makes the TLC reality TV series so popular.

“Love is primal, but I think we tapped into a couple of things. One is that this show is incredibly authentic. I’m a huge lover of  The Bachelor  and that franchise, however, we were one of the first shows to actually tell real stories about ordinary Americans and their love journeys. Also, this show is about this journey with other cultures. When we launched this show in 2014, we were on the ‘love frontier’ of this whole new era of finding people all over the world.”

He continued: “This is  the most diverse show on television ,” Sharp asserted. “You can challenge me on it. We featured people from 51 countries at this point. We have subtitles. We have people that don’t speak the same language and have completely different cultures. We’re trying to tell unique stories every time and when we’re in the casting process we’re evaluating people based on their personalities, backgrounds and their stories, but also we just want to tell unique, fresh, interesting stories.”

He also explained that the show has no say in the visa process or anything like that. “This is an authentic process,” he explains. “We make a point of having an arm’s length with that process . We’ll check in and say, ‘How’s it going?’ Are there people that we have said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great for the show?” and then a fiancé went through the visa process and they got denied and we didn’t feature them? Of course.” But of course, you can be excited for the drama and want to know how everything ends.

On season four, four lovestruck Americans travel to new international locations including Brazil, Italy, Malta, and Colombia to be with their significant others. But will it work out?

Luke met Madelein in Colombia while he was on vacation, and instantly hit it off. To Luke’s surprise, they ended up spending the whole time together. Luke decided he was going to move to Colombia to be with Madelein after he returned. However, the once-wealthy Luke gets a reality check and doesn’t have the money to move, nor can he support Madelein’s lavish lifestyle like she believes he can. Also, a shocking affair comes to light, but will they make it out?

Kyle and Anika met after Anika found Kyle’s information about being a sperm donor. He’s a father of 71 with 8 on the way while Anika is a single mother who wants to have another child. Ever since their first conversation, they both felt a spark, but slowly the conversation changed from donating to dating! But will Kyle give up being a sperm donor to be with Anika in Malta?

Shawn (61, New York, NY) and Alliya (25, Brazil):

Shawn, a hairstylist based in New York City, met Alliya when she identified as Douglas. This season will focus on the two learning more about each other, but will their initial feelings and attraction towards each other grow stronger or will the two grow apart?

Age: 30 (Alex) and 33 (Adriano) Location: Dallas, Texas (Alex)

After meeting on vacation in Italy, will Alex settle down with Adriano? Their steamy romance picked up from the get-go, but their differences in personality and in bed might get to them soon.

Every week for over 25 years, men and women, both clergy and laity, from every imaginable faith background have been sharing powerful stories of how they came home to the Catholic Church.

The Journey Home Program is produced in the Coming Home Network studio and broadcast on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) .

The program airs every Monday at 8 PM ET on EWTN TV, radio, and online ( www.ewtn.com ), and you can watch the encore shows at 1 AM on Tuesdays and at 1 PM on Fridays. In addition, the “Best of The Journey Home” airs Wednesdays at 1 PM ET.

The Journey Home

Midge, the chironomid, awakens to find himself no longer on Earth, but a space station. Along with his new friends Doc, the cricket, and Marbo, the spider, Midge learns that they were brought out into space for experiments by the humans. Midge encourages his new friends to escape their room to find the farm that is supposed to be on the station so they can find other bugs and fresh food.

ITV confirms brand new celebrity lineup for DNA Journey

Viewers are set for a Life on Mars and Royle Family reunion.

The ancestry show, which returns for its fifth series this year, has confirmed the upcoming celebrity line-up, which also includes Life on Mars stars John Simm and Philip Glenister and The Royle Family 's Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston .

Actors Sarah Parish and James Nesbitt, who starred together in Harlan Coben Netflix drama Stay Close , are another pairing, with I'm a Celebrity 2023 winner Sam Thompson appearing alongside with campmate Marvin Humes.

Comedians Jo Brand and Julian Clary are also teaming up for one of the six episodes.

"The new celebrity twosomes set off in pursuit of where they come from and unearth secrets from their past, in a life-changing and emotional voyage of discovery that takes us from Canada to London, France to Jamaica," teases the synopsis.

DNA Journey works with genealogy company Ancestry to help piece together the celebrities' family trees - both past and present.

Ancestry's Brad Argent said it was "a privilege to be part of" the show. "Solid research, world-class science, and a little bit of good luck have uncovered a fantastic line-up of rich and varied stories – all made relatable by a celebrity cast that bring themselves to every moment," he added.

As for what viewers can expect from the fifth series, ITV commissioning editor Louise Major teased: "This series is packed with life-changing revelations and gratifying discoveries that are sure to touch everyone’s hearts.

"DNA Journey is an extraordinary series that offers a unique glimpse into the lives of so many brilliant celebrities. It is a privilege to be granted intimate access to their personal journeys and to share their experiences with the audience."

DNA Journey will air on ITV1 and ITVX this year. Seasons 1-4 are available to stream now on ITVX.

Missy actor reflects on 7-year young sheldon journey as the show nears its series finale.

Raegan Revord looks back on her 7 years playing Missy Cooper in CBS' Young Sheldon as the family comedy prepares to wrap up in less than a month.

Raegan Revord looks back on her seven-year stint playing Missy on Young Sheldon , as it nears its finale. Production for Young Sheldon has already wrapped , but it doesn't mean that the tributes have already stopped. After the initial announcement that filming has finished for the show, more cast and crew shared their sentiments about the bittersweet ending of Young Sheldon . Admittedly, The Big Bang Theory prequel could have continued for several more years, but the established continuity forced CBS to conclude it.

Taking it to her official Instagram account, Revord shares a string of images from her time playing Missy in Young Sheldon with a poignant message. Check out the post below:

Revord's photos are a mix of old and more recent snaps from the set of Young Sheldon . In her caption, she emphasizes how much she has grown in the last seven years on the show, and that she will be forever grateful for the experience.

Will Revord Play Missy Again In Young Sheldon’s Sequel Series?

Georgie & mandy's spinoff will continue young sheldon's storytelling..

The actor revealed that she wasn't invited to partake in the Young Sheldon spinoff project, although she didn't share any additional details as to why that's the case.

For the longest time, Missy was Young Sheldon 's best character , even though she was mostly sidelined. That has somehow changed as the show builds up Georgie ahead of his spinoff sequel with Mandy, but it doesn't mean that his sister has lost all of her appeal. It's still there, but the prequel hasn't given her the chance to showcase her positive traits since it has been focused on other storylines. Unfortunately, time is running out for Young Sheldon to fully utilize Missy , considering that the family comedy/drama now only has a handful of episodes left.

Despite Revord's impressive performance as Missy, the writers chose not to bring her back for Georgie and Mandy's spinoff show. The actor revealed that she wasn't invited to partake in the Young Sheldon spinoff project , although she didn't share any additional details as to why that's the case. However, it doesn't seem like anyone else from Young Sheldon 's core cast will be in the new show aside from Georgie and Mandy. Missy and the remaining Coopers may appear as guest stars, but it is unlikely that they become series regulars.

Young Sheldon Season 7 Fixes Its Worsening Sheldon/Meemaw Big Bang Theory Plot Hole

Assuming that Revord's story as Missy ends in Young Sheldon , things are not easy for her from here on out. George's death will have a massive impact on her, especially since she is particularly close to her dad. Hopefully, however, the series can show how much that loss shapes her future in The Big Bang Theory since she becomes the least successful Cooper sibling despite her potential.

Young Sheldon season 7 airs every Thursday, 8 pm ET on CBS.
