Since forming in 2003 at school in their hometown of St Albans, UK, Enter Shikari have, thus far, released seven full-length studio albums; TAKE TO THE SKIES (2007) , COMMON DREADS (2009), A FLASH FLOOD OF COLOUR (2012) , THE MINDSWEEP (2015), THE SPARK (2017). NOTHING IS TRUE & EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE (2020), and the latest, A KISS FOR THE WHOLE WORLD which was released Friday 21st April 2023.
With all six albums debuting in the UK Album Chart top 5 for the “midweeks”, with A Flash Flood Of Colour actually midweek-ing at #1, only to be crushed beneath the wheels of the juggernaut that was ’21’ by Adele come end of that week. Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible landed the band their highest UK chart position to date, ending up at #2 in the Official UK Album Chart. Enter Shikari have been recipients of multiple awards and topped many a magazine reader’s poll, picking up “Best Live Band’ gongs like there’s no tomorrow, as well as a plethora of ‘Best UK Artist’ and ‘Best Album’ statuettes, from the likes of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, the Heavy Music Awards and NME.

LIVE REVIEW: Enter Shikari @ First Direct Arena, Leeds
Off the back of their triumphant UK number 1 album A Kiss For The Whole World , ENTER SHIKARI return with a long-deserved arena tour. The St. Albans-based band are known for their pick ’n’ mix qualities, “abusing music genre’s worthless boundaries since 2003” . They’ve not just thrown out the rule book, they’ve written their own dictionary on what it is to be a band in the alternative space. It’s what makes them so formidable, peerless and enticing; earning them one of the most dedicated fanbases going. Tonight, they open this highly anticipated mammoth of a tour in Leeds’ First Direct Arena , and do it in style.
NOAHFINNCE jogs onto the stage with immediate energy, beaming as he greets the crowd before swinging straight into pop-punk jam I Know Better . The track is a sure crowdpleaser, with a chorus fronted by an infectious hook, backed with an electronic, grungey beat. Noah ’s set contrasts that of the rest of the night – it’s a big stage to fill as a one-man (with band) act; despite this, his charisma oozes though the room. His short set is full of humour and feel-good in-jokes, even featuring a sample of the Harry Potter theme, a sure jab at a JK Rowling ’s anti-trans viewpoints. His slot was met with a rocky opening, having issues as he plays the first couple of songs with his guitar tech by his side. Unfazed, he continues to stomp on despite his guitar completely cutting out at points. Noah includes the crowd with banter, asking “ does anyone like Tok Tok? Does anyone also hate Tok Tok?” before LALALA – a song written in retaliation of a request to write a happy song that would succeed on social media. His transparency, relatability and relaxed attitude is a fitting vibe for an opening act to win the crowd on side.
Rating: 7/10
FEVER 333 are an act met with anticipation of chaos, making them a perfect fit for a bill with ENTER SHIKARI . Frontman Jason Aalon Butler is already known for his high energy, punk performances as previously seen with LETLIVE. . Tonight is no exception, as he jolts about he stage from the first swell of opener BURN IT . Bassist April Kae challenges the crowd, constantly vibe-checking them as she eggs them on. The set never pauses, showing this arena tenacity throughout. From Jason flipping a stage monitor to balance on it before catapulting himself off of it, to leaping into the crowd for We’re Coming In . Despite the lawlessness, the band are tight, heavy, and sound colossal in this 13,000 capacity room. The band make a point of honouring the women in the room, dedicating One Of Us to them, which sets off the audience in an explosion of crowd surfers. It’s exactly the vibrant, exciting eruption we’ve come to expect from the FEVER 333 outfit.
Rating: 9/10
In a contrast to what the remainder of the set will blast into, ENTER SHIKARI begin the night with Rou Reynolds appearing on stage, illuminated only by spotlight as he delivers the opening spoken word segment of System…Meltdown . He is almost drowned in the crowd matching him, before the staple SHIKARI assault of the senses begins.
There is no mucking about with the production of this tour. With a backdrop of screens that display custom reactionary visuals for each song, and a laser show worthy of Boomtown Fair , somehow, ENTER SHIKARI have stepped their game up once again. This tour is obviously meticulously crafted down to the smallest details. Stunning moments leave crowd members in awe as Rou climbs the towers at either side of the stage, conducts the lights with his hands and even dives into an interactive screen, mimicking the Bloodshot music video.
It’s an impressive celebration of the band’s career thus far, with no era of their discography neglected. ENTER SHIKARI have created their own evergreen ecosystem of music, with tracks from almost 20 years ago that still conjure relevance today. Despite their astronomical growth, the band manage to make their largest tour yet reciprocal, expansive and completely immersive.
For Gap In The Fence , Rou appears on the highest point of the stage set up, and serenades the room in a stripped back version of the song, before the rest of the band appear on the b-stage , a small platform at the back of the room to finish in the final swell of electronics. After, they request the crowd “parts the seas” , making for a dramatic scene as Rob , Rory and Chris pace through all the way back tot he main stage, high-fiving fans as they do so. It’s not their last close brush with their fans however, as for Rou ’s next trick, he magically arrives on the balcony, stumbling between the seats during The Sights .
Every single song of the night has an element to write home about, with production designed scrupulously at every second. It is the ultimate blueprint for how to craft your show to match your sound. There is not one sparse moment visually or instrumentally from any corner of this vast arena. All 26 songs of the set are crammed full of thought, and exemplify why ENTER SHIKARI are deemed one of the best alternative live acts in the game.
It is no small feat for a band who are this sonically unique to not only be still active decades into their career; but in fact, stronger than ever. After the set closes on an encore of the old and the new with Sorry You’re Not a Winner and A Kiss for the Whole World x , we overhear a fan saying “They’re just the best, aren’t they. That’s all I can say” . And they’re right. At the prime of their career, ENTER SHIKARI show every act how it’s done in every scope of their live presence.
Rating: 10/10

Enter Shikari’s ‘A Kiss for the Whole World’ Tour: A Sonic Odyssey Unveiled at Leeds First Direct Arena
Experience the thrill of Enter Shikari’s ‘A Kiss for the Whole World’ tour at Leeds First Direct Arena. From NOAHFINNCE to Fever 333, it was a night of pure musical magic.
By Johnny Grenda | min read | February 12, 2024
The Leeds First Direct Arena buzzed with anticipation as music enthusiasts gathered for a night destined to be etched into their memories — Enter Shikari's 'A Kiss for the Whole World' tour. With the promise of an electrifying spectacle, the lineup, which included the emerging NOAHFINNCE and the politically charged Fever 333, only heightened the excitement in the air.
NOAHFINNCE, a name rapidly ascending the ranks, initiated the sonic journey with a burst of infectious pop-punk energy. Set to release his debut album, 'Growing Up on the Internet', NOAHFINNCE offered a taste of his forthcoming work. The crowd was immediately drawn into his world, where influences from the likes of McFly and The Prodigy converged to create a sound that felt both nostalgic and contemporary.

The setlist featured tracks such as '3 Day Headache', a poignant exploration of burnout and exhaustion that resonated with many in the audience. From the catchy 'Worms (In My Brain)' to the personal favourite 'Scumbag', NOAHFINNCE showcased a versatility that hinted at a promising future. His engaging stage presence and solid vocals validated the rising star label that has been increasingly associated with his name.
With a warmth and charm that permeated the venue, NOAHFINNCE's performance was a testament to his readiness for the spotlight. As the night unfolded, it became clear that the term 'Rising Star' wasn't just a throwaway phrase; NOAHFINNCE embodied the potential and talent that had been attributed to him.

The stage transitioned to Fever 333 , a force to be reckoned with, comprised of Jason Aalon Butler, drummer Thomas Pridgen, bassist April Kae, and guitarist Brandon Davis. Before their performance even began, the warning circulated through the photo pit: be prepared for audience members leaping the metal fences. A forewarning that proved prescient as the night unfolded.
Fever 333 erupted onto the stage, led by the dynamic duo of Jason Aalon Butler and April Kae. Dressed in band-branded jumpsuits, they immediately turned the heat up with 'Burn', a track that had earned them a Kerrang award. The energy was palpable, and the audience found themselves caught in the wake of Fever 333's high-octane performance.
The infectious energy emanating from the stage was matched by the visually striking presence of Butler and Kae. Their command of the stage was unwavering, captivating the audience's attention and inviting them into a politically charged world of rapcore at its finest. As 'Made in America' and 'One of Us' thundered through the arena, the crowd found themselves not just spectators but active participants in a musical and social experience.
The performance was punctuated by Butler's passionate delivery of politically charged messages, creating an electric atmosphere that resonated with the audience's collective consciousness. The sheer force of Fever 333's performance was undeniable, and the crowd surfing in the audience served as a testament to the infectious energy that coursed through the venue.
After a brief intermission that allowed the audience to catch their breath and process the sonic assault, it was time for the main event – Enter Shikari. With a reputation for delivering not just concerts but immersive experiences, the anticipation reached a fever pitch as the band prepared to take the stage.
The quartet, consisting of Chris Batten, Roy Reynolds, Rob Rolf, and Rory Clewlow, emerged to a roar of approval. The tour, named after their 2023 UK No.1 album 'A Kiss for the Whole World', promised not only a musical journey through their extensive discography but a visual feast courtesy of their renowned light show.
Following the explosive energy of Fever 333, there lingered a question in the minds of the audience: could Enter Shikari sustain and surpass the energy level already set? The answer became abundantly clear as Enter Shikari seized the metaphorical baton and sprinted a musical marathon.
With a setlist boasting over 25 songs, Enter Shikari curated a night that catered to the deepest desires of their dedicated fanbase. Roy Reynolds's live performance on the bass was as polished as their studio tracks, and the meticulous attention to detail was evident in every aspect of their presentation.
The visual element of the performance was not to be overlooked, as each song was accompanied by tailor-made visuals on the screens at the back of the stage. For 'Sssnakepit', the stage came alive with the appearance of snakes behind them, creating a symbiotic relationship between the auditory and visual components of the show. Large text typography of song lyrics further added layers of engagement, showcasing the band's commitment to delivering a holistic experience.
Amidst the musical journey, Chris Batten took a moment to address the audience about the evolution of their production. He reminisced, "There was a time when I had a little strobe next to me with a foot pedal, which would turn it on and off when we were going into a heavy section. How times have changed."
Deep into the set, the stage saw the return of Fever 333's Jason Aalon Butler for the collaboration track 'Losing My Grip'. It was a moment of sheer musical synergy as both frontmen fed off each other's energy, creating a dynamic and memorable highlight. The collaboration seamlessly blended the worlds of Fever 333 and Enter Shikari, a testament to the camaraderie that exists within the music community.
A change of pace was introduced as the spotlight turned solely on Rou Reynolds for a series of solo performances. Perched atop a skyscraper set, Reynolds, armed with an acoustic guitar, delved into a series of tracks that presented a stark contrast to the previous high-energy moments. Unbeknownst to the audience, while Reynolds held the crowd captive with his solo performances, the rest of the band discreetly set up at the back of the arena.
As Reynolds concluded his solo set, attention shifted to the back of the arena, revealing a surprise for the audience. Batten, Rolf, and Clewlow had taken their positions, ready to keep the crowd occupied while Reynolds orchestrated another unexpected moment. In a clever twist, Reynolds re-emerged within the upper stands, engaging with the audience directly.
"What song do you wanna hear? Did someone say, 'The Sights'?" Reynolds proclaimed, creating a moment of surprise and delight. The group split into two sections of the arena, with Reynolds navigating his way through the upper crowd. Fans eagerly took selfies with the frontman as he made his way through the sea of ecstatic faces.
The reunion of the band on the main stage marked the beginning of the final section of the show, where classic tracks such as 'It Hurts' and 'Satellites' took centre stage. The visual spectacle reached its zenith during 'Satellites', as a colossal blast of confetti enveloped the stage, showering the audience in a kaleidoscope of colours. The effect was not merely a visual flourish but a testament to Enter Shikari's commitment to providing their fans with an immersive and unforgettable experience.
As the set neared its conclusion, 'The Dreamers Hotel' served as the apparent finale. However, true to the spirit of leaving the audience yearning for more, Enter Shikari returned for an encore. The crowd erupted in fervour as the opening chords of the fan-favourite 'Sorry You're Not a Winner' filled the arena. This, along with the title track of their 2023 album 'A Kiss for the Whole World', formed the perfect culmination of an epic night of music and camaraderie.
The evening concluded with the audience chanting the band's name to the tune of The White Stripes' '7 Nation Army', a testament to the enduring impact of Enter Shikari's performance. As the lights dimmed and the echoes of the night lingered, it was evident that Enter Shikari had once again proven themselves to be masters of their craft, architects of experiences that transcended mere concerts and lingered in the hearts and minds of all who bore witness.

Enter Shikari announce 2024 UK arena tour in support of Music Venue Trust
Tickets go on sale later this week
Enter Shikari have announced a new 2024 tour, which will hit arenas around the UK in support of Music Venue Trust. Find ticket details below.

Shared today (April 2), the upcoming tour will feature seven dates across the United Kingdom, taking place in early 2024. The live shows will not only celebrate the release of their latest LP, but also benefit grassroots music venues.
Kicking off with a show at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on February 12, the tour will see the St Albarns four-piece also perform in cities including Edinburgh, Nottingham and Cardiff, before drawing the shows to a close with a gig in London’s Wembley Arena on February 17.
Two back-to-back nights at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester will also take place midway through the dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 5) at 10am BST, and will be available here .
£1 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Music Venue Trust — which supports grassroots venues in each city the band will be touring through. The idea was spurred by the band’s incentive to give back to the local venues which continue to support them throughout their careers.
“Grassroots music venues in the UK are under existential threat. Every time we lose another one we lose a vital part of our culture,” explained frontman Rou Reynolds. “Bigger venues that benefit from the productive pipeline that grassroots venues provide need to support these smaller venues, as do the artists that have come up through them. Enter Shikari stands with Music Venue Trust in their efforts to bring more solidity and community to our brilliant UK live music scene.”

The tour will celebrate the release of their latest album, ‘A Kiss For The Whole World’ , which marked their first UK Number One. It also follows on the heels of the band’s recently-finished sold-out dates in the UK, Europe, Japan and the US. Fever 333 and Noahfinnce have been announced as support acts. Find a full list of dates below.
FEBRUARY 9 – First Direct Arena, Leeds, UK 10 – Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham, UK 12 – O2 Academy, Edinburgh, UK 14 – O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester, UK 15 – O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester, UK 16 – International Arena, Cardiff, UK 17 – OVO Arena Wembley, London, UK
In a four-star review of their latest LP , released last month, NME praised the rock band for conveying a message of positivity, that fits perfectly into the ongoing climate of the UK living situations. “Their message is as potent as ever as is the conviction,” it read.
“Amid the bleakness of cost-of-living-crisis Britain, the shot of joy it provides is a welcome tonic, particularly from unexpected quarters. Shikari have already mastered the feeling of the world retreating on their last record; this time, they’re positioning joy as an act of resistance.”

Additionally, the band explained their aim for the album in a discussion with NME earlier this year.
Taking place back in January, frontman Reynolds described the album as “explosive”, and capable of both capturing the band’s essence, but also push them into new territories. Discussing lead single ‘(Pls) Set Me On Fire’, he said: “That song encompasses the experience of the last few years. It’s the yearning for transcendency, creativity and being able to connect with people.”
“There’s an intensity to it. It’s got full verses of shouting or pitched screaming,” he continued. “It’s one of the most anguish-filled songs we’ve done for a long time. It’s got that original Shikari essence to it, really.”
