Coldplay announces 2023 European tour dates

Stadium shows confirmed for UK and continental Europe

After completing their triumphant run of six sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, Coldplay has announced further European and UK stadium shows for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour in summer 2023. The dates include the tour’s first visits to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands, alongside UK shows in Manchester and Cardiff, staring in May 2023.

The new tour dates were teased via Easter eggs in the band’s new video for “Humankind,” taken from their No. 1 album, Music Of The Spheres , which premiered last week. To the excitement of the band’s eagle-eyed global following, the video also hinted at further shows being announced for southeast Asia and North America.

Tickets for the new European and UK shows will go on sale at 10 am local time on Thursday, August 25th via Ticketmaster .

Since the band’s record breaking tour began in Costa Rica in March 2022, more than four million tickets have been sold for the dates in Latin America, North America and Europe.

The tour has also been heralded for its groundbreaking set of sustainability initiatives which include a show powered by one hundred percent renewable energy in almost all locations. It features the world’s first tourable battery system which was made from 40 BMW electric car batteries; power bikes and kinetic dance floors allowing fans to help power the show; solar panels and wind turbines at every venue; a pledge to cut tour emissions by fifty percent; incentives to encourage fans to travel by green transport; and one tree planted for every ticket sold.

Europe - Tour Package Highlights and Trip Insights

With so much to see, do, eat and buy, planning a Europe tour is no easy feat. There are, of course, the typical sightseeing musts: Paris’ Louvre, London’s Tower Bridge, and Rome’s Colosseum. Even Europe’s most frequent visitors will always find something new to discover. Read on for our top Europe tour highlights and Europe trip insights.

Europe Tour Package Highlights

  • Go back in time and explore the ruins of ancient civilizations in Italy and Greece
  • Snack on cheese and wine (or escargot, if you’re feeling adventurous) in the Champ de Mars, beneath the Eiffel Tower
  • Ride a bicycle through the townhouse-lined streets of Amsterdam before touring the canals by boat
  • Listen to the romantic songs of the gondoliers as you cruise through the canals of Venice
  • Indulge in an authentic Belgian waffle, drowned in chocolate
  • Enjoy an ice-cold beer from a beer stein at Oktoberfest in Germany
  • Hike from village to village in Italy’s Cinque Terre
  • Get lost between the shelves of some of the world’s most beautiful libraries, like those at Trinity College (Dublin, Ireland), Mafra Palace (Mafra, Portugal), and the Clementinum Baroque Library Hall (Prague, Czech Republic)
  • Join a Europe tour that goes through many of Europe's travel highlights in countries such as Spain , France , Italy , Netherlands and Scandinavia .

Europe Trip Insights

  • Traveling by rail is one of the easiest (and sometimes cheapest) ways to get around Europe, especially if you plan to travel for a couple of weeks (or longer). Investigate rail passes before you visit, particularly ones that can be used between countries. Interrail and Eurail are very popular among travelers.
  • Don’t skip the “touristy” destinations. Everyone travels differently, but the most popular European highlights are popular for a reason. Brave the crowds and be sure to stop by those more cliché sites - you’ll be glad you did.
  • Try not to over prepare! One of the great benefits of visiting Europe is that it’s incredibly easy to travel between towns and countries. Allow yourself some flexibility to open yourself up to new adventures (and avoid travel burnout). If you've booked a Europe tour package with accommodation, activities, guides etc. get ready to indulge and relax - you are up for a Europe trip of a lifetime.
  • Chances are you don’t speak 23 different languages, so be prepared before you travel. Avoid carrying around heavy guide books by downloading a translation app on your phone.
  • Note that not all European countries use the Euro, including the United Kingdom , Denmark and Hungary (among others). Do your research beforehand and be ready to juggle different currencies if you’re planning an extensive trip.
  • Travelling on a budget? Check our last minute holiday and travel deals to Europe . Also, consider looking for accommodation outside the city centre. Most large European cities are very well connected by public transportation, meaning all your bucket list sites are just a quick (and often inexpensive) bus, train, or metro ride away.

Tours in Europe - Questions and Answers

You can spend a couple of months exploring Europe and still feel like you have not seen everything. Generally speaking, a two-week Europe trip should be just enough if you are looking to cover its major highlights. However, if you want a comprehensive travel experience within this duration, it is better that you focus on a region or a few countries rather than traveling all over the continent.

Choose a single country or schedule your trip around a handful of cities in different countries. While larger European cities may require three to four days to explore, you can get around smaller destinations in a day or two. Planning your trip around a particular region will cut down your travel time and save your time in transit.

If you are planning to visit multiple countries, you should prepare a tentative list of destinations you are interested in. If it is your first trip, stick to major cities and cultural centers for the sake of simplicity and convenience. Also, be flexible and optimize your travel time and budget. Be open to changing your itinerary depending on schedules and ticket prices.

There are dozens of insurance companies offering travel insurance, which can make it difficult for you to choose the right one.

There are a number of things that you should be aware of while purchasing travel insurance. If it is comprehensive medical insurance plans that you are interested in, make sure to find out what all the plan covers. If you are concerned about certain scenarios, then check out customizable travel insurance policies and find out if the provider can cover you for those situations. You also need to determine if there are reasonable coverage limits. Check deductibles and compensation limits in the insurance policy for this.

While insurance is important, it is mostly a safeguard against emergencies. If you are on a budget, you can go with the second- or even third-best option and prioritize getting your money’s worth instead of purchasing the most comprehensive coverage.

Europe has swathes of spectacular landscapes, a rich history, and vibrant cultures. Therefore, deciding on the best travel destinations on the continent can be difficult. However, you can narrow down on highlights by choosing one overarching theme for your trip.

If you are looking forward to immersing yourself in art and history, then Italy, Spain , and France should be on the top of your list. Head for Switzerland , Norway , or Croatia if nature is what you love the most. For beaches and water sports, you will be hard-pressed to find better destinations than Greece , Portugal , and Montenegro.

Having said that, you can also diversify your itinerary by mixing and matching different elements of the same country. Italy  tops the charts not just for its medieval monuments and Renaissance art but also for coastal scenery and sun-soaked beaches. Similarly, Spain is a foodie paradise as much as it is an architectural hotspot.

Bus services like FlixBus and BusAbout offer a convenient means of transport if you wish to move from one city to another within the same country. Although these services do travel between countries, they might not be the best choice due to a longer travel time.

Budget airlines are another great way to get around Europe’s major cities, especially when you want to cut down on travel time between two countries. Keep an eye out and you might be able to snag tickets at unbelievable rates. Services like Skyscanner can be of help. Some of the largest budget airlines in the continent are Ryanair , WizzAir , Eurowings , and EasyJet .

Ridesharing services are a godsend for those wishing to immerse themselves in local culture as they offer you the chance to catch a ride with locals along the way. BlaBlaCar is the largest one. The only downside is that it is not always as easy to book a rideshare service as it is to catch a bus or hop on a budget flight.

The USA is one of the 63 countries whose citizens enjoy visa-free entry into the EU Schengen zone along with the UK and associated states like Iceland , Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.

This means that if you are an American citizen with a valid US passport and want to travel to Europe for a limited amount of time for tourism or business purpose, you can do so anytime you want to. However, if you have more long-term plans (say, you intend to get employed, study, or simply live in Europe for an extended period of time), you will need to apply for a visa. The type of your visa and required documentation depend on your goals.

Update for 2022: EU is set to launch ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) by the end of this year. It is similar to ESTA and is supposed to help simplify travel procedures and decrease security risks. All travelers allowed to travel to the EU and associated states visa-free will require an ETIAS authorization. This also includes US citizens.

If your country has a visa-free agreement with the EU, you are allowed to spend up to 90 days within a period of 180 days. Keep in mind that the countdown starts on the date of your entry and ends on the date of your exit. So, for example, if you fly into an EU country on the first of the month and exit on the 15th, it will count as a 15-day stay.

There are 63 countries in the world that have a visa-waiver agreement with the EU . If your country is part of this agreement, you can travel to Europe visa-free. You do, however, need to show the following to be allowed into the Schengen Zone and associated states.

  • A valid passport: Your passport should have a validity of at least 3 months at the time of your entry into Schengen and be less than ten years old.
  • Purpose of entry: In addition to your passport, you also require documents that prove that you are there for tourism purposes. These documents can include invoices for hotel reservations and booked tours.
  • Proof of financial means: You also need to carry documents proving that you can support yourself during your stay in the region.

As long as you have got all three, all you need is a plane ticket to your chosen destination.

22 Best Europe destinations in August for 2023

The month of August in 2023 is looking like it’s going to be a blockbuster all over Europe with by far the largest crowds since 2019. The data says that pent-up demand from all of the recent COVID years is finally ready to give way and people will be flocking to all of the major destinations in numbers not scene in a decade or more.

You may know that most office and government workers in countries like France, Italy, and Germany have the entire month of August off work. It’s true and as many of them as possible will head to the beaches, often leaving continental Europe altogether. This means that the capitals and other big cities can feel somewhat empty, and the smaller crowds can make a visit more enjoyable.

Below you’ll find most of the famous cities, but you’ll also find some lesser known cities on the list, and hopefully you can  put together a great Europe itinerary  of your own. Generally speaking it’s better to avoid Europe’s beaches in August because nearly all of them are at maximum crowds and prices this month.

Important August 2023 Holidays in Europe

  • August 15 – Assumption Day in France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain etc. (major public holiday)
  • August 28 – Summer bank holiday in the UK (except Scotland, which is on August 7)

It’s important to note that huge numbers of Europeans have all of August off work, and they mostly leave the cities and head to beaches (in Europe and beyond) and the countrysides. The middle of August is the peak of this, when cities like Paris can literally feel mostly empty, so it’s a good time to visit.

While London will be very crowded in August, if you get outside of the main tourist spots it really won’t feel too bad. This city is also filled with many excellent public parks and open spaces, so it’s really not too difficult to escape the masses when you want to. This is also a good month to explore elsewhere in Britain. Here are some of the best England, Scotland, and Wales itinerary ideas . Room rates in 2023 are looking lower than in some recent years so it could be a good time to come if you’ve ever worried that London wasn’t affordable.

If you aren’t fond of crowds then give Edinburgh a miss in August and come any other month. But those festivals are crowded for a good reason, and tens of thousands make a pilgrimage to Edinburgh every August to be a part of it all. As long as you are aware of the situation, the answer for you should be obvious.

It’s worth noting that Edinburgh is so far north that the days last well into the evening in summer, so coming early in August is a good way to experience that. Hotels are more expensive than London in August, even though they are generally cheaper the rest of the year.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from £124 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from £159 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from £22 per person

One of Amsterdam’s claims to fame is that there are only a few major streets in the entire city center. This makes it the bicycle capital of the world by some measures, and also means that strolling around the historic 17th Century center is more pleasant than most other cities of this size.

The crowds in Amsterdam in summer of 2022 were really large, with most visitors coming from within Europe, and we expect the same in 2023. Amsterdam is usually crowded, but still some might consider finding another place to go, such as Paris, where crowds in August are smaller.

  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €121 for two people

If you have more time you might also consider visiting Sorrento , which is a bit south of Naples, and the perfect base to visit that city as well as Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Most visitors will instead head north to Florence on their way to Venice. All of this is explained in much greater detail on our article about the best Italy itineraries .

We are expecting Italy to be very crowded in summer of 2023, so it’s probably wise to book flights and hotels as early as possible.

Florence, Italy

  • August avg low: 63F/17C
  • August avg precip: 3.0″/7.5cm

european tour august 2023

You can obviously expect it to be quite warm in Florence in August. Most hotels will have air conditioning, but some of the cheapest places may not. Florence has a dense city center, which means that at least you’ll be able to walk in some shade most of the day. You might also consider a day trip to Pisa, Siena, or the Cinque Terre from here.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €70 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €84 for two people

Venice, Italy

  • August avg high: 81F/27C
  • August avg precip: 3.3″/8.3cm

european tour august 2023

The best way to visit Venice is to book a hotel on the main island for only one or two nights, as you’ll get fed up with the crowds after that. The main island is pleasantly empty in the early mornings and in the evenings when the day-trip crowds aren’t here, so those are the best times for sightseeing. You can save money by booking a hotel on the (comparatively dull) mainland, but you’ll also spend an hour or more each way as well as not having a place to relax in the middle of the day when crowds feel overwhelming.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €87 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €141 for two people

Paris, France

  • August avg low: 62F/17C
  • August avg precip: 1.8″/4.5cm

european tour august 2023

All of the main attractions are open in August in Paris, so it’s actually a very good time to come. This city is so far north that it rarely gets very warm, so the weather is usually good as well. Hotel room rates are lower than the rest of the summer, so you might be able to afford more than you are expecting. All indications are that August of 2023 will be very popular in Paris, but again, the city tends to be very quiet as locals head to beaches and the country, so it’s still a great time to visit.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €67 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from €17 per person

Interlaken, Switzerland

  • August avg high: 74F/23C
  • August avg precip: 5.7″/14.3cm

european tour august 2023

The top attractions here are the cable car up to the Schilthorn observation deck and the train up to Jungfraujoch, which is the highest train station in Europe. There is snow in both places all year round, which can be fun in August. If you want to visit a second place in Switzerland to admire the unusual beauty, Lucerne is your best bet.

August of 2023 is looking like it’s going to be very busy after the last few years. Hotel rates are higher than in recent years and booking early is probably wise under these conditions.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €151 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €254 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from €32 per person

Dublin, Ireland

  • August avg high: 65F/18C
  • August avg low: 52F/11C
  • August avg precip: 2.8″/7.0cm

european tour august 2023

Give yourself at least a week and choose at least 3 different places to stay, if not more. Dublin is a good transit hub and place to spend a day or two, but it will be the little country pubs and castles that you’ll remember most after your Ireland tour.

Dublin and Ireland in general are very popular in summer and in 2023 they should be booming. Again, I recommend not spending a lot of time in Dublin itself and focusing more on smaller towns. This strategy should help keep your budget down as well.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €109 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €134 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from €26 per person

Lisbon, Portugal

  • August avg high: 82F/28C
  • August avg precip: 0.3″/0.8cm

european tour august 2023

If you want to mix some beach in with your city visit, you’ll find half of Britain packed into the hotels and flats in the Algarve , which is the southern coast of Portugal. The beaches are nice for Europe, but a disappointment for people from other areas. It’s probably more interesting to head north to Porto instead.

Lisbon is an unusual bargain in Europe as it’s very nice and yet strangely affordable. The weather is arguably the best of any large city in Europe as well, so you might as well take advantage of the situation while you can.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €51 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €88 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from €16 per person

Prague, Czechia

  • August avg high: 76F/24C
  • August avg low: 57F/14C

european tour august 2023

Most people who visit Czechia just go straight to Prague and then leave the country again, but there is more to see here. With 2 or 3 more days in you should consider a side trip to the wonderful small town of Cesky Krumlov , which is 3 hours away on a scenic bus ride or train. It’s gorgeous, and quite a bit cheaper than Prague.

Prague is sure to be very busy in 2023, just like the other top destinations within Europe, so booking early is wise.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €43 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €46 for two people

Berlin, Germany

  • August avg precip: 2.3″/5.8cm

european tour august 2023

A cruise on the River Spree is a fine way to get oriented to Berlin, since so much of the city was founded along the river. The hotels in the former East are still cheaper than those in the former West, and the area is generally more interesting as well. Berlin should be relatively crowded in August of 2023, but it’s still a good bargain and the main sights are spread out quite a bit so it shouldn’t feel overwhelming.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €78 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €89 for two people

Salzburg, Austria

  • August avg precip: 5.9″/14.8cm

european tour august 2023

Since Salzburg is at the base of the Alps, it will get some rainfall in the summer months, although it usually doesn’t last long. Most of all you are going to want to spend some time in the lovely historic center, and also get out of town to enjoy the Sound of Music scenery, not to mention the castle on the top of the hill overlooking the town. The historic town center of Salzburg is quite small so it’s best to book early if you’d like to stay in the center of it all.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €107 for two people

Vienna, Austria

  • August avg high: 78F/26C
  • August avg low: 60F/16C

european tour august 2023

The warm weather will make sitting in Vienna’s sidewalk cafes even nicer than during the rest of the year. The two main palaces are also something to see for yourself at least once, and the huge grounds of the Schönbrunn Palace on the edge of town are especially nice in summer. Many local office workers have all of August off, so central Vienna isn’t as crowded this month as you might otherwise expect.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €71 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €80 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from €18 per person

Bruges, Belgium

  • August avg high: 68F/20C
  • August avg low: 59F/15C
  • August avg precip: 1.5″/3.8cm

european tour august 2023

Bruges, on the other hand, is much smaller and even mellower than Amsterdam, so it’s a good place to relax for a few days on a long and hectic tour around Europe. Hotel rates are actually cheaper here than in Brussels and Amsterdam as well, so you can afford more than you might expect, even in August. If you are looking for something similar with even smaller crowds you might go to Ghent instead. It’s halfway between Brussels and Bruges, so it’s fast to reach as well.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €95 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €111 for two people
  • Hostel dorm beds in August from €22 per person

Copenhagen, Denmark

  • August avg precip: 2.2″/5.5cm

european tour august 2023

Hotel prices in Copenhagen are quite expensive, but quality is high so it’s worth a bit of a splurge. The prices of food and drinks are also famously high, but you can keep costs down by doing a bit of self-catering and buying some alcohol to drink on the street, like the locals do.

Hotel rates in 2023 look pretty reasonable by recent standards so it should not be overly expensive. Booking early is usually wise in any case.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €118 for two people
  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €151 for two people

Stockholm, Sweden

  • August avg high: 69F/21C
  • August avg precip: 2.6″/6.5cm

european tour august 2023

Also similar to Copenhagen, things here are expensive, but there are now pretty cheap flights to get here, whether you start in North America or from somewhere else in Europe. Be prepared to gasp when you notice how good looking most of the locals are. It’s another reason to enjoy summer days and evenings here, and people watching is free.

Bergen, Norway

  • August avg precip: 4.1″/10.3cm

european tour august 2023

Bergen is Norway’s second city, but it’s the gateway to the fjords and it’s more interesting than Oslo in general. You can take any number of bus or boat tours to the nearby fjord areas, or if you have time you can do the Hurtigruten, which is a cross between a ferry, a mail ship, and a cruise liner.

  • Good 4-star hotels in August from €174 for two people

Krakow, Poland

  • August avg high: 75F/24C
  • August avg precip: 3.2″/8.0cm

european tour august 2023

The August weather will make the visit even nicer, especially as Krakow has a huge park that surrounds what is left of the historic center. Hotels and food prices here are so low that this is an ideal place to linger on a longer trip, as you prepare yourself for more expensive cities where you’ll have to move quick.

Krakow is sure to be busy in August of 2023, but there are plenty of hotels. If you want a good place in or near the historic center, which is ideal, it’s best to book early.

  • Good 3-star hotels in August from €40 for two people

Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is another grand capital that is extremely impressive in person. Most of the high-end tourism industry is found on both sides along the river, so savvy travelers book a hotel and eat at restaurants a bit inland on the Pest side in order to get the best value. Check out at least one of the famous ‘ruin pubs’ for something you won’t see anywhere else.

The public transportation system in Budapest is very good and cheap as well, so you can book a nice hotel for cheap in the Pest side of town and still be near some of the best ruin-bar nightlife.

Reykjavik, Iceland

  • August avg low: 46F/8C

european tour august 2023

If you have a week it’s best to rent a car and drive it all the way around the Ring Road, which is still mostly empty even in August. Iceland has become quite expensive again, so planning ahead is critical. You can still visit Iceland on a reasonable budget with these tips . Food and accommodation are on the pricey side, but it’s worth it. Most of the cheapest hotel rooms in Reykjavik and all over Iceland come with a bathroom down the hall. It’s best to get used to that unless you want to pay a small fortune each night. They don’t have enough available labor to clean a bathroom for each guest every day, so it’s kind of how things work in Iceland.

Istanbul, Turkey

This huge city is very good value, but it’s worth knowing that everywhere else in Turkey is even cheaper. If you have at least a week to spend in Turkey, head to Cappadocia after a few days in Istanbul, and then to Antalya for a couple days after that. It’s all very exotic and very good value at the moment.

Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band European tour: Thrills, spills and star power

european tour august 2023

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band have conquered Europe — and there's more to come.

Band members are heading home for a short break after 12 shows into the band's European stadium tour.

The reviews are glowing.

“This is a show to live long in the memory,” said the Independent of Ireland after the band's May 7 concert at the RDS Arena in Dublin.

Yet, there have been a few moments of notoriety over the run that make this tour, the pedestrianly named “2023 Tour,” one that will be discussed for a long time after the final encore.

The tour resumes June 11 in the Netherlands and comes back the States starting with Aug. 9 and 11 at Wrigley field in Chicago. The big ones for Jersey fans are Aug. 30, Sept, 1 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Here's a look at highlights, and some diversions, of the just completed first half of the European run.

First Lady at first show

The reviews are in, former First Lady Michelle Obama was a hit at the April 28 show at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. Obama, actress Kate Capshaw and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa joined the Boss and the band during the “Glory Days.”

Obama had a tambourine and it wasn't just for show.

“How cool is my wife!' said former President Barack Obama at the show, as captured on Michelle's Instagram.

Springsteen visits family roots in Ireland

The Boss connected with his Irish ancestors in County Kildare in Ireland as the E Street Band played three shows, May 5, 7 and 9, at the RDS Arena in Dublin.

The Boss' kin on his father's side came from Kildare in the mid 1800s. Springsteen made a surprise visit to the Creative Performance Academy in Kildare and sang an a cappella version of his 1984 hit “My Hometown” with the ladies at a local pub in Kildare on May 4.

“You guys, I’m firing the E Street Band and I’m hiring you,” said Springsteen to laughter.

Prior to his Kildare jaunt, Springsteen visited Shane MacGowan of the Pogues in his Dublin home. MacGowan, who has used a wheelchair since breaking his pelvis in 2015, is suffering from encephalitis.

Tragedy in Italy

The show must go on is a revered show business adage.

Yet, many questioned if the Springsteen and E Street Band show May 18 in Ferrara, Italy, should have proceeded as the venue was about 30 miles from the Emilia-Romagna area in northern Italy, where rains, flooding and mudslides killed more than a dozen people.

Some were disappointed the show went on and some fans were disappointed that there was no reference to the situation during the show. Springsteen has a long history of connecting his shows with the plights of those around the world. During an August 2016 concert t MetLife Stadium, he dedicated “My City of Ruins” to the victims of the recent earthquake in the Apennines Mountains of central Italy.

Guitarist Steven Van Zandt said on Twitter a week after the show the band was not aware of the situation in Emilia-Romagna.

“We didn’t know a thing about it,” said Van Zandt on Twitter. “All we heard was the crew had to work overtime because the venue was one big mud hole from the rain. That was all.”

Boss falls in Amsterdam

Springsteen has climbed, slid, crowd surfed, danced and jumped off pianos in concert over the years.

On May 27 at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, he tripped and fell during “Ghosts.” The 73-year old Boss didn't stay on the ground for long.

“Goodnight everybody!” Springsteen joked.

He was helped up by stage hands and guitarist Nils Lofgren and continued the show.

The tour's multi-level staging does seem to have its share of stairs, which Springsteen climbs nightly.

“With stairs like that, baby we were born to fall,” commented a fan.

E Street Band pre-concert warm up

What do the members of the E Street Band do to get ready for the show?

They apparently dance like Morris Day and the Time. E Street Band percussionist Anthony Almonte shared a video of him, guitarist Nils Lofgren, singer Curtis King and a fourth person dancing like Day and the Time to the Boss' “Ramrod” backstage earlier this week.

“We’re stepping up the Pre-Show Show, with our guest being the one and only Nils Lofgren!!” Almonte said. “Giving you a bit of The Time moves to Ramrod! Rock on y’all!”

Lofgren, who's been known to tap dance during his solo shows, also shared the vid.

Starpower in Europe

Stas and notables have flocked to the European shows.

That was especially true at the May 21 concert at the Circo Massimo in Rome where Woody Harrelson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Sting, Nick Cave, Lars Ulrich from Metallica, and Chris Rock attended.

“I just Met Chris Rock (heart emoji),” said Michelle Moore, member of the E Street Choir, on social media.

Rock posted a few snippets of the show to his Instagram story. One was Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt mugging it up or the camera on “Glory Days.” Another was a band shot during “Dancing in the Dark.”

If he wasn't a fan before the show, he's a fan now.

Whilst internal flights are covered for certain itineraries, you will have to make your way to the meeting point for the start of your tour. When booking flights be mindful of departure times and possible delays. Tip: We suggest that you start comparing prices the moment your deposit is paid to avoid costly flights.

Expat Explore reserves the right to accept or decline the request at our discretion. We want to ensure everyone has a great time exploring with us!

We make every effort to include local cuisine on our tours to ensure an authentic experience for you. You'll receive an email before the tour begins, where we'll ask for your dietary preferences. We always have a vegetarian option, and we'll work hard to accommodate any other dietary needs or preferences you may have.

Contactless payment is widely accepted across Europe – it’s best to bring a payment card with no overseas withdrawal fees. * Keep in mind that certain optionals are payable in cash to your tour leader whilst on tour. We suggest that you talk to your Tour Leader about when & where to draw cash to pay for the optional excursions.

While Expat Explore cannot assist with booking pre or post-tour accommodation, we recommend Booking.com for affordable accommodation options prior to and after the tour. Please request this by sending a message through on the conversation page.

While Expat Explore endeavours to stay current on all major entry requirements, we are not a registered visa agent. We are, however, able to make things a little easier by providing you with the required supporting documents for a visa application once your tour is paid in full. It is a requirement of the embassies that tours are paid for in full before visa support documentation is requested and applications are made. When you have made the final payment for your booking, simply reach out to our Customer Support Team to request your visa support documents and confirm which embassy you will be applying to.

This is up to you and will vary depending on how much you wish to spend on snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc. We do not include entrance fees to attractions and museums. We do, however, provide you with free time to see everything you want, and our tour leaders will have all the information on pricing and locations so you can manage your own budget. Please refer to your tour-specific pre-departure information and optional excursions guide for further details.

It's your responsibility to arrange sufficient travel insurance for your trip. When you travel with Expat Explore, both you and your personal belongings do so at your own risk. A comprehensive insurance policy should cover medical expenses for illness or accidents before or during the holiday, as well as reimbursement for lost holiday funds due to cancellation, curtailment, or other insurable events. Make sure there are no exclusions that would limit coverage for the activities included in your tour. We generally recommend WorldNomads because they cover a wide variety of nationalities, but you are welcome to use any supplier that offers you the most comprehensive plan. You are able to obtain travel insurance through one of TourRadars partners, XCover. Please reach out to receive a quote.

We embrace travelers of all ages and backgrounds, prioritizing attitude and mindset over age restrictions. However, our tours are fast-paced and jam-packed with experiences. Regrettably, individuals with mobility limitations or those using wheelchairs may find this tour challenging. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring quaint towns and navigating cobblestone streets. We want every traveler to fully enjoy their journey, so we encourage reviewing the itinerary carefully before making your booking decision.

When you book for more than one person, we will by default group you together in the same room(s), unless you request single supplements or specifically request us not to. If there are unequal numbers (3, 5, 7 etc.) then the remaining traveller will be roomed with another passenger of the same gender, unless you opt to add a single supplement (subject to availability) to your booking. Please note that minors under the age of 18 cannot share with another traveller outside of your group's booking. If you are making separate bookings and would like to share the same room(s), please send us an email with the booking references for each of the travellers and the details of your preferred rooming allocation.

Imagine Dragons’ sixth studio album LOOM represents the pinnacle of their artistic journey of self-discovery and marks the best body of work they’ve ever made. LOOM , produced entirely by Imagine Dragons and their longtime collaborators Mattman and Robin, finds the perfect balance between the classic sounds that have made them superstars and the freshness that brought them joy in the studio. Featuring 9 brand new tracks including hit single “Eyes Closed”, LOOM signifies new beginnings on the horizon – the excitement for a new day, moments yet to come.

Last year, the members of Imagine Dragons found themselves with a rare and well-deserved break from the road—perhaps their longest in many years. So, they made the most of it by devoting that time to family and friends. Catalyzed by this respite with a refreshed perspective, the band rallied together in the studio and mined the same well of inspiration that fed their most beloved material. The musicians reflected on the past in order to catapult into a future where stylistic boundaries have disappeared entirely and anything is possible creatively. This journey has brought them to their most dynamic and definitive body of work to date, LOOM .

To herald LOOM , the band recently shared their soaring new anthem entitled “Eyes Closed.” Check out the video HERE . The track illuminates their penchant for boundary-breaking. Stretching the limits of the soundscape almost to the breaking point, they harness a burst of energy with a rafter-reaching refrain primed to soar on the upcoming summer tour.

It’s the year of the Dragons …

Since emerging in 2009, they’ve scored five consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 with Night Visions [2012] (7x-platinum) (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), Smoke+Mirrors [2015] (platinum) (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), Evolve [2017] (triple-platinum) (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), Origins [2018] (platinum)(KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), and Mercury – Act 1 [2021]( KIDinaKORNER/Interscope). The band’s hit collaboration with East Atlanta-based rapper J.I.D, “Enemy,” has racked up billions of global streams and landed at #6 on the IFPI Global Singles Chart for 2022. Dominating radio, they remain one of only four bands to ever achieve consecutive Top 5 singles at Alternative radio, and the only band to repeat this feat. Most recently, Imagine Dragons made history on Spotify, as “Bad Liar” became their 10th song to surpass 1 billion streams. The band now holds the crown for the group with most billion-plus streamed songs, becoming the first in the platform’s history to have ten songs reach this milestone. Meanwhile, Imagine Dragons’ music videos for hits “Thunder” and “Believer” have garnered an astounding 2 billion YouTube views, while videos for “Radioactive” and “Demons” have surpassed over 1 billion views.  They’ve collaborated with everyone from Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, and Wiz Khalifa to Avicii and film composer Hans Zimmer. Giving back, they’ve raised millions for various causes, including their pediatric cancer charity the Tyler Robinson Foundation, and frontman Dan Reynolds’ LOVELOUD Foundation and festival in support of LGBTQ+ youth. In 2022, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky named them ambassadors for UNITED 24, which benefits humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Imagine Dragons earned an impressive four nominations for the 2022 American Music Awards including “Favorite Pop Duo or Group,” “Favorite Rock Artist,” “Favorite Rock Album” and “Favorite Rock Song.” The band was also nominated for “Group of 2022” for the 2022 People’s Choice Awards.
