360 Virtual Tours for Schools

We are market leaders in school virtual tours. Established in 2008, we’ve shot for both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, numerous colleges and the country’s top independent schools.

A unique way of showcasing your location and its surroundings.

School virtual tours allow you to show students around your school, college or university from the comfort of their own home.

Students now expect to find some form of virtual campus tour when viewing a school, college or university online. Whilst in person open days are still popular, having the ability to further expand on this with an online virtual visit is invaluable.

Our virtual tours for schools allow you to show key areas of your campus, from dining rooms to boarding houses, and add information points to further describe each area being viewed.

Start your school virtual tour using one of our unique aerial drone 360 shots, the perfect introduction to your location. Have an illustrated school, college or university map? We can build this into your virtual tour to create the perfect interactive marketing tool.

They are also extremely affordable, with small projects costing as little as £500.

Matthew and the team have been incredibly helpful and professional throughout the process of the 360 virtual tour. From the first call, to the finished product, everything ran smoothly and quickly. On the day, they were able to provide us with suggestions and comments for the best shots. The finished tour is excellent and better than we could have ever expected.

360 Virtual Tours provided us with an exceptional 360 tour of our college campus. They were attentive, enthusiastic, and easy to work with from the start of the project, as well as being incredibly organised. At a time when we couldn’t welcome prospective students and families through our doors, they provided an invaluable insight into our college. Thank you very much to Matthew and his team, we would highly recommend you to anyone that asks.

From initial enquiry through to final launch, 360 Virtual Tours provided us with an efficient and highly professional service. The photoshoot ran very smoothly, thanks to Matthew’s expertise, and the final product was everything we expected it would be.

The service provided by 360 virtual tours was professional, supportive and efficient from the start of the process to the final edit. We are delighted with the virtual tour and the service that we received – we would recommend the services of 360 virtual tours to other schools.

Thank you to 360 virtual tours for putting together tours of our five college campuses and university centre. These have been a fantastic resource in a year when open events for our potential students weren’t a possibility, and we have had many compliments on the quality and how easy they are to navigate. Working with 360 was an extremely straight forward process. They are helpful, professional and got the final tours put together quickly for us to an excellent standard.

We were very impressed at how 360 Virtual Tours were able to bring our exhibition and laboratories to life. The process was very smooth and all done remotely from taking the photos, to designing the layout and style, and to incorporating our edits. 360 Virtual Tours comes with our highest recommendation. The result is a polished, dynamic, and immersive experience!

Welcome to Our Virtual Open Morning

Established in 1878, Ipswich High School is a prominent day and boarding school offering a tailored education for boys and girls aged 3-18 years on our 87-acre campus in Woolverstone, Suffolk, UK, on the banks of the River Orwell. Our home is Woolverstone Hall, a Palladian Grade I listed mansion built in 1776.

We are renowned for ensuring our pupils are equipped to be so much more than highly skilled at passing exams. We believe great results are a by-product of an outstanding education, not its sole focus. We do this by providing them with the widest possible range of experiences, both in and outside of the classroom, to broaden their minds and create new opportunities for every pupil to thrive.

Our Boarding Houses include The Dairy House, a Grade II listed property, and The Barns, which both date back to 1870, but have now been completely refurbished and modernised for today’s discerning boarding pupil. We have recently won the Boarding Schools’ Association award for ‘Best Boarding House Extension or Refurbishment’ which recognises the hard work that has been put into creating an extraordinary accommodation and experience for our boarding pupils.

Suffolk’s Leading Sixth Form

ipswich school virtual tour

In 2021, our Sixth Form pupils achieved the top A Level results in Suffolk:

  • 25% of the Year 13 students achieved three or more A* grades
  • 40% of grades were marked at A*
  • An impressive 66% gained A*-A
  • 89% achieved A* – B
  • 100% pass rate

The commitment of our students and dedication of our A Level teachers was evident with twelve subjects scoring 100% pass rates including Art, Classics, Economics, Geography, Psychology, Religious Studies, all Modern Foreign Languages, English Literature, PE, and Computer Science.

Pastoral & Wellbeing at IHS

Your child’s wellbeing is a top priority at Ipswich High School.

Prep School pupils are given opportunities to develop as effective, independent learners both cognitively and metacognitively. To enable and encourage children to grow, we look at how to support them in becoming resilient, self-motivated learners, attentive, open-minded, inquisitive, respectful, polite and driven – so much so that we have written these qualities on the walls of the Prep School Library.

In the Senior School, pastoral care sits alongside the academic and enrichment provision, in order to ensure that pupils receive a broad, balanced education in a supportive and caring environment.

Our pastoral care then continues in the Sixth Form, as our students become young adults and start to make crucial decisions on the next steps in their lives.

We value parental views and believe that good communication between parents, pupils and the school lies at the heart of your child’s development. Our staff are well-informed and always mindful of individual abilities and character. Lessons, enrichment and free times are all considered opportunities to help develop a mindful toolkit that will give your child the skills to approach their learning and life’s adventures positively.

Wellbeing at IHS

If you have any questions, they are always sure to know the right person to ask or will be able to help you directly.

Please do contact them here: [email protected] or 01473 201058.

What is the admissions process for entry into the school?

When lockdown ends, we will arrange a tour of the school with the Head of Senior or Prep School and a meeting with the Headmaster to start the process off. Whilst we are in lockdown, instead of your tour, we will arrange a video call with the Headmaster. When you are happy to proceed to the next stage, you would complete a registration form and pay the registration fee.

We then request a report from your child’s current school, and we invite your child to sit our Math and English entrance paper which is normally tied in with a taster day at school, again this is affected by the current lockdown rules. After this, the Headmaster is then in a position to make an offer.

If you accept the offer, you will complete a contract and pay a £500 deposit (which is returned when your child leaves the school). The Registrar and Admissions team will then guide you through all the next steps including welcome information, first day instructions, option choices, purchasing a uniform, booking the school coach and so on, we aim to make the transition to our school as smooth and straight forward for you as possible.

What age range of children attend your school?

We cater for children from Reception through to Sixth Form.

What is the Diamond Model?

Boys and girls are taught coeducationally in the Prep School, then they are taught separately in Years 7 and 8 in PE and Preforming Arts classes (music, drama and dance). Pupils are then taught together from Years 9 to 13.

Girls and boys learn differently so we offer the very best education for them whilst they have the benefit of socialising together during this time too.

How can the Diamond Model benefit my child?

We aim to recognise and value the individuality of each child, providing opportunities for them to develop their potential with a happy, supportive community.

The Diamond Model allows us to teach every individual in a way that is tailored to their needs, whilst providing incredible pastoral support in a coeducational environment which we think is the perfect ethos for happiness and success.

How many boys do we have?

Boys started to join the school three years ago and for 2021 entry we will have boys enrolled from Reception and up to and including Year 9, and Sixth Form.

Numbers are very healthy and vary by year group. For example, in Year 7 and Year 8 (currently the only 2 co-educational year groups in Years 7-11, each year group contains between 30-40% boys).

What is your Enrichment Programme and is it included in the school fees?

Every academic term over 170 enrichment activities take place at the school with pupils partaking in a morning and afternoon enrichment club every day of the week. The offsite activities (such as horse riding and skiing) have a fee to cover transport and equipment hire costs, all other activities are free of charge.

More information can be found on our website: ipswichhighschool.co.uk/enrichment

What time does the school day start and finish?

All pupils start their day at 8:35 am for registration and the day ends at 4:20 pm in time for children to catch their coach home, which leave at 4:30 pm.

School ends at 3:30 pm on Fridays. We always plan for our sports fixtures to be timed so that children can catch their coach home.

Can my child catch the school coach?

Pupils can use our coaches from the age of five. We offer an extensive coach network for our pupils, with routes running throughout Suffolk and Essex.

Only our pupils travel on our coaches, which are modern and comfortable, with each route having a dedicated driver so that there is consistency for the students.

What wraparound care do you offer?

Prep pupils can attend our Breakfast Club (7 am – 8:30 am). Pupils are offered a full hot breakfast from the Orwell Kitchen. This will be from the daily breakfast menu. Pupils will be offered games and craft for entertainment. Parents can drop off after 8 am without a breakfast option. There is also the After School Club (4:15 pm – 6 pm) Pupils arrive, dependent on their finishing time. Tea is offered at 5 pm. This will comprise of sandwich or baguette option, cake, fruit, or similar and a drink. Pupils can opt to complete their homework or engage in activities, supported by staff. Parents can collect before tea at 5 pm, for a reduced price.

Senior School pupils are welcome to join us for breakfast from 7 am (breakfast is chargeable) and they can stay after school from the end of the school day until 6 pm free of charge. They also have the option of having Tea at 5 pm.

How is the school day set up?

The school day consists of five academic lessons and two enrichment sessions.

Do you have Saturday schooling?

Ipswich High is a day school and we very much like to protect your family weekends together.

We do not have Saturday school or sports fixtures as we want pupils to be able to enjoy their weekends with their families and be able to pursue the things they love at weekends.

What is included in the school fees? And how much are they?

School fees include tuition, lunches, and enrichment activities plus support for those pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is also included, where appropriate.

Please see our school fees: ipswichhighschool.co.uk/fees

Do you offer scholarships?

We offer Scholarships on entry into Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12.

Please learn more about or scholarships: ipswichhighschool.co.uk/scholarships

What awards and other offers to you have?

We offer a sibling discount of 10% for the second child, 15% for the third child and 20% for fourth and subsequent children.

Scholarships are available in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. Once your child has been offered a place, for the top-performing applicants, the Headmaster may bestow an award to children entering Year 7 – Year 11, who have demonstrated outstanding performance and promise during our admissions process. This could involve means-testing.

We do not offer bursaries.

What entry points do you have for school?

We are happy to accept applications and make offers at any time during the academic year, where we have spaces.

Children may enter the school at any point during the academic year.

Do you offer transport to and from school?

We offer an extensive coach service for our pupils, with routes running throughout Suffolk and Essex. Only our pupils are able to use our coaches. Our coaches are modern and comfortable, with each route having a dedicated driver so that there is consistency for the students. Pupils can use our coaches from the age of five.

Prices for coaches vary depending on distance travelled. For further information please speak to our Registrar.

This is not a definitive list of questions and of course we are always happy to answer any specific questions you may have. Please call or email and we will be happy to help.
