Needs better iPhone X support

The app is pretty nice, but needs more polish on the iPhone X - the bar at the top sometimes doesn’t fit all the text it contains, as it sticks to the top of the screen and not the bottom of the notch. Images resize in a weird way, you can’t tap them because it will force them to fill screen either horizontally or vertically which turns them into a blurry mess and cuts out most of their content. Luckily you can swipe and see different pictures without going into full screen mode. Other than the spotty iPhone X support I see no issues, the app is great.

Please be careful when using this application, especially in conjunction with itaka smart. In my case it did not work entirely. Using this application you are risking to be left alone in foreign country with no support. In response for partial refund I received answer that it is normal and is not a basis for compensation.

The vast majority of them prevail in the all-inclusive or HB-type catering. Of course, in the catalog of this company among the most popular hotels you will also find those that guarantee rest in the highest standard, satisfying even the most demanding people. Of course, this is an offer addressed to clients who are hungry for luxury and have a well-to-do holiday budget. However, if you are focused on active sightseeing, and the hotel is to provide you with only a comfortable accommodation and a solid breakfast, in this case you should also be able to choose from among a wide range of hotels offered by Ithaka.

When choosing a hotel, however, it is worth remembering that in the case of Greece, the categorization of stars does not always reflect the actual level of accommodation. The north coast of Crete is the main area where the vast majority of hotels offered by Itaka are located. However, what distinguishes this travel agency from the competition is the clear presence of a holiday offer in the south of Crete. In recent years, you could choose from hotels in the area of Plakias , Damnoni , or Ierapetra.

This year, outlets for two Cretan airports (Chania and Heraklion), Itaka is implemented from nine Polish cities: Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warsaw, and Wrocław. Flights are served by popular charter airlines such as Enter Air , Travel Service or Small Planet. A large number of flights from the Okęcie airport also allows you to choose a slightly less standard length of rest, which can also be 1.5 weeks. So if you can not afford a full two-week vacation, and you would like to spend more than a week in Crete, the Itaka offer can suit your needs.

I must admit that in the case of this travel agency the numbers are impressive. Ja byłam z biurem w georgioupolis. .. Najlepsze wakacje zycia

Ja z Itaką byłem pierwszy raz na Krecie, nie mam większych zastrzeżeń oprócz niekompetencji rezydentek. Niesympatyczne i z małą wiedzą o wyspie, zależy im tylko na sprzedaży wycieczek fakultatywnych, które są w kosmicznych cenach. Ja skorzystałem z usług lokalnego biura podróży Holidea - Wycieczki fakultatywne Kreta i jestem zadowolony. Kompetentne przewodniczki i niskie ceny. https://www.holidea.eu

W 2014 roku byliśmy za pośrednictwem biura Itaka na Krecie, w rejonie Kissamos, na zachód od Chania. Hotel Chrispy World. Moja opinia dotycząca obsługi biura, organizacji dojazdu, opieki rezydenta i animatorów to 6/6 ! Będę wszystkim zawsze gorąco polecał to biuro, a szczególnie osobom starszym, które nie znają żadnego języka obcego i mogą być "zagubione" w dzisiejszym świecie (np. Lotniska). Rok wcześniej jechaliśmy z Neckermanem do Bułgarii. My sobie poradziliśmy bez problemu, ale moim rodzice (ponad 60 lat) to by na 100% nie dotarli do hotelu. Ogólnie było zero opieki ze strony biura. Ogólnie z Itaką byłem wczesniej na 4 wyjazdach po Europie. Każdy pozytywnie.

Dziękujemy za tak obszerną opinię. Faktycznie dobra organizacja i opieka rezydenta jest szczególnie ważna dla starszych osób które często nie znają języka, lub pierwszy raz są na takim wyjeździe. Aczkolwiek nie chcemy też generalizować :) jest wiele starszych turystów doskonale sobie radzących na tego typu wakacyjnych wyjazdach.

Nie korzystałam z usług tego biura, ale bardzo chętnie skorzystam z opinii na temat Itaki i innych biur podróży.

byłam w ub.roku na Krecie z Rainbow...nie narzekam! :) a na Itakę niestety "nacięłam się"...:(

O Rainbow Tours z pewnością napiszemy w przyszłości. Natomiast zaciekawiło nas pod jakim względem nacięłaś się na Itakę. Czy możesz napisać coś więcej?

ale tutaj nie chodzi o pobyt na Krecie...tylko o Cypr...po prostu "obraziłam się" na tę firmę i zmieniłam operatora...wykupiłam wczasy w hotelu 4* all inclusive...a chodziłam prawie codziennie na obiad do pobliskiego miasteczka, bo jedzenie w hotelu było tak okropne...:( a reklamacji (kilku uczestników pisało) nam nie uwzględniono z adnotacją, "że właściciele hotelu bardzo się starali" :D

Oj to faktycznie słabo.

Rok temu z Itaką na Krecie bylismy. W okolicy Chania. Bez zastrzezen ;) Polecam jak najbardziej!

POLSKA DLA POLAKÓW - KRETA DLA KRETYNÓW :) JA JESTEM KRETYNEM, LUBIĘ KRETĘ I LUDZI I TEN SPOKÓJ

Dwa lata temu byłam z Itaką w okolicach Chanii. Hotel Louis Creta Princess. Super hotel, polecam! :) Z Itaką jeżdżę co rok i nie mam żadnych zastrzeżeń.

Byłam w ubiegłym roku na Krecie. Zakwaterowanie mieliśmy w hotelu 3 gwiazdkowym. Cena można by powiedzieć że adekwatna do warunków. Pokój dość duży, sprzątanie co dziennie, jedzenie także ok. Ale było jednak ale. Miałyśmy pokój 3 2 os. z dostawką. Na zdjęciu dostawka była rozkładanym tapczanem a na miejscu dostawka okazała się murkiem z materacem. Reklamacji nie przyjęto bo powinno zgłosić się to odrazu rezydentce której nie było. A gdzieś trzeba się było ulokować.

Trzykrotnie z Itaki i dwa razy porażka. Porażka odnosi się wyłącznie do rezydentów (rezydentek). Jako osoby nie specjalnie wymagające pod kątem hotelu i samodzielnie organizowanego wypoczynku, nie możemy specjalnie pochwalić opieki na miejscu. Niestety ( a może to przypadek) rezydentki miłe w zasadzie wyłącznie kiedy przez nie korzystamy z usług dodatkowych - wypożyczenie samochodu, wycieczki fakultatywne etc. Jeśli nie korzystamy, jesteśmy traktowani jak turyści drugiej kategorii. Ja rozumiem, że biuro jest monopolistą ale chyba nie powinno się aż tak nastawiać tylko i wyłącznie na zysk. A może tylko powinno staranniej dobierać rezydentów. Nie sądzę aby moja opinia była odosobniona albo żebym się nad sobą użalał. Podam przykład - wycieczka fakultatywna z Heraklionu na Santorini. Wyspa piękna i warta zobaczenia, Na wycieczce osoby w różnym wieku również 60+. Parking u podnóża miasteczka Oia. Dość strome podejście do "punktu widokowego" (kto był, ten wie) Rezydentka ma tylko dwa cele - doprowadzić grupę tylko do sklepiku z winami, bakaliami, pamiątkami oraz na górę do chodnika wzdłuż trasy widokowej na kalderę.Wszystko prawie biegiem tylko po to aby powiedzieć gdzie i za ile się spotykamy i tyle ją było widać. A starsze osoby dopiero w połowie podejścia. Zachowanie co najmniej niegrzeczne, żeby nie użyć mocniejszych słów. To tylko jeden z przykładów. Kolejna sprawa - długości pobytów z Itaki - oferowane 8 i 15 dniowe. Dokładnie przed zakupem sprawdzajcie godziny wylotów. Często jest tak, że biuro sprzedaje imprezę 8 dniową gdzie wylot z Polski jest o 23:20 np i jest traktowany jako pierwszy dzień a wyjazd z hotelu np o 5:30 rano i jest to dzień 8. Faktycznie jesteśmy na wakacjach 6,5 dnia. Zdarza się, że jest to 7 dni. Przez kilkanaście lat korzystaliśmy z około 7-8 biur i niestety poza jednym pozytywnym wyjazdem z Itaką (i to akurat do Bułgarii), oceniamy to biuro dużo niżej poniżej średniej. Polecam dokładnie czytać warunki pobytu, daty, godziny wylotów a przede wszystkim niezależne opinie na niezależnych portalach. Pozdrawiam (i sorki, że tak się rozpisałem :) )

Andrzeju, właśnie na szczerych opiniach nam zależy :) Niestety ale takie praktyki stosuje nie jeden organizator więc jedyna rada to czytać uważnie warunki umowy i sprawdzać opinie.

Co do dni pobytu na wakacjach to prawda.Rezydentki nastawione na sprzedaż wycieczek i wynajem samochodów.

Niestety nie zawsze się da się sprawdzić godziny przy podpisywaniu umowy. Ja wykupowałem w lutym (Alfa Star) to nie było jeszcze podanych godzin. Pojawiły się dopiero na stronie biura chyba w kwietniu. Fakt że prawdopodobne godziny poznałem wcześniej, wiedząc kto im czarteruje samolot ( Small Planet) i sprawdzając na stronie innego biura (ta sama firma czarterowa). Nam się udało wylot 4:40(4 VII) powrót 1:10 (20 VII)

Niestety godziny narzuca przewoźnik. Takie zmiany mogą dotknąć również wyjazdów organizowanych indywidualnie.

Najlepszy jest moim zdaniem Grecos .....specjalizują się tylko w greckich kierunkach i ja "latam"z nimi od wielu lat każdego roku.

W ubiegłych latach mieli też w ofercie Turcję, teraz z innych kierunków pozostała im jeszcze Majorka.

Ja osobiście niestety nie mam dobrego zdania o Itace.... Mają najsłabsze pokoje wykupione w hotelach,a ceny dość wysokie.Ogólnie mają zamieszanie odnośnie kategorii pokoi... Wiem coś o tym,bo siostra pracuje w biurze turystycznym :)

Dzięki. Nie chcę wybiegać przed szereg i przedwcześnie "reklamować" innych biur. Myślę, że to fajny pomysł, który realizujecie z opiniami o różnych biurach. Chętnie się podzielę nimi ale przy okazji poszczególnych aby nie wprowadzać zamieszania i aby każdy mógł w miarę szybko odnalezć coś dla siebie

Grecos ...fakt ma Majorkę,ale traktowałbym to jako "dodatek"do oferty greckiej:)choć hotele na Majorce mają rzeczywiście przednie.

W zeszłym roku byłam z rodzina na Krecie z Itaki wszystko w porządku tylko gwiazdki hoteli powinny byc bardziej sprawdzane bo to co jest zawsze minus jedna. Zawsze latamy z Itaką.

Niestety taka jest specyfika greckich hoteli. Gwiazdki są przydzielane na nieco innych zasadach.

Ja o tym wiem latam juz od paru lat ale inni nie wiedza a pozniej wypisują same negatywy na temat hoteli na wyspach greckich.

Fakt. Ale cóż można powiedzieć... zawsze warto szukać informacji przed wyjazdem.

Itaka nie zawiodła. Trzy razy Kreta.trzy razy ok.

Pierwszy raz z Itaką w ubiegłym roku (hotel Chrispy World) i niestety rozczarowanie. Kompletny brak organizacji przy opóźnionym wylocie (opóźnienie prawie 15 godzin z Katowic) i również opóźnionym powrocie. Brak zainteresowania ze strony rezydentki i słaba znajomość atrakcji na Krecie. Hotel w porządku ale w tym roku jeżeli Grecja to raczej nie z Itaki.

W tym roku pierwszy raz z Itaką i mam nadzieję, że wszystko będzie ok.

Witam. Jestem świeżo upieczoną urlopowiczką z Itaką (nie po raz pierwszy zresztą). Wczoraj wróciłam z dwutygodniowego pobytu w świetnym hotelu Kakkos Bay na południowo wschodniej części Krety. Wyjazd zorganizowany idealnie. Hotel leży na uboczu, co było świadomym naszym wyborem, świetna uczynna obsługa hotelowa, jedzenie urozmaicone po prostu świetni ludzie, świetnie utrzymany ogród i ta plaża cudowna. Moje doświadczenie z Itaką zawsze było pozytywne i mam nadzieję, że takie zostanie. Nie jestem malkontentką i nie wymyślam problemów tam gdzie ich nie ma! Zawsze wiem gdzie jadę, w jakiej okolicy znajduje się hotel i jakie atrakcje są w okolicy i nie tylko (gdyż zazwyczaj zwiedzam okolicę tę bliższa i dalszą na własną rękę), chodź zdarzyło mi się korzystać z wycieczek i zawsze trafiłam na kompetentnego rezydenta. Na wyspie Zakynthos rezydentka przeszła samą siebie, aby dogodzić wczasowiczom a i tak znaleźli się tacy, którzy narzekali. Cóż wczasowicze tak mają – obojętnie, z jakiego biura lecą!•Celowo piszę o atrakcjach gdyż czytałam powyższe wpisy i nie wyobrażam sobie, aby jechać gdziekolwiek czy to w Polsce czy zagranicę i nie zrobić rozeznania najbliższej okolicy dla mnie to niepojęte! Wczoraj wracając natomiast Pani narzekała, że pojechała do świetnego hotelu Ostria Beach, lecz położenie hotelu fatalne nie było w okolicy deptaku ze sklepami i przez to jej się wyjazd nie podobał można się załamać! Reasumując ITAKA to świetny wybór! Byli, są i mam nadzieję, że będą moim number one!

Bardzo cieszymy się, że znalazła się również osoba, która napisała relację już z tegorocznych wakacji :). Całkowicie zgadzamy się również z Twoją opinią (i osób piszących wcześniej), że każdą rezerwacje warto poprzedzić odpowiednim rozeznaniem. W internecie można znaleźć wiele przydatnych informacji.

Poland’s leading tour operator ITAKA Lider in Malta

Recently, a joint event by MTA, ITAKA Poland and Alpine Sterling DMC took place at the Radisson Golden Sands Hotel to celebrate the growing success of Malta amongst Polish travellers. The audience was addressed by the Chairman of the MTA, Dr Gavin Gulia, MHRA President, Mr Tony Zahra, and ITAKA's President, Mr Piotr Henicz. In his speech, Dr Gulia gave a warm welcome to ITAKA's top management, sales managers, and agents, and thanked them for their commitment in selling Malta, for choosing to visit and experience the Maltese Islands, and for hosting the ITAKA Lider conference in our country.

A few months ago, the VisitMalta Regional Office in Warsaw joined forces with ITAKA Poland, the leading tour operator in the Polish market, and established a collaborative agreement. This partnership actively promotes and markets the Maltese Islands, placing particular emphasis on the winter months. Through this agreement, ITAKA is also promoting and selling package holidays to travellers based in Poland who want to visit Malta all year round.  This agreement continues to strengthen and evolve the hugely encouraging numbers of the Polish market in the local tourism industry, whilst increasing the brand visibility of the Maltese Islands in the Polish market.

Over the past couple of years, Malta broadened its range of source markets, and as a result, it became less dependent on the core markets of the UK, Germany, Italy, and France. Consequently, in 2019, a growth from secondary markets, such as Eastern Europe, was recorded, with Poland in particular attracting almost 105,000 visitors. The MTA identified the potential in the Polish market and started working hard to attract more Polish tourists towards the Maltese Islands, and in November 2022, a new VisitMalta office was inaugurated in Warsaw, the first regional office in Eastern Europe, to serve as a hub to cater for the rising demand of the Polish market as well to serve as a point of reference for Eastern Europe and the Baltic region.

This proved to be a highly strategic choice as the Polish market increased at a very rapid rate, reaching a total of 149,000 inbound tourists between January and November 2023, shooting its way up to the 5th place in the top source markets during the first eleven months of 2023.  This positive outcome was the result of MTA's enhanced marketing efforts in the Polish market. Investments were made in several online and digital campaigns, print advertising, social media exposure together with radio and other outdoor advertising campaigns, the hosting of social media influencers, and promoting the Maltese Islands on popular Polish TV stations. Moreover, more work was done on other elements that include connectivity and partnerships with several tour operators and airlines. With regards to Poland, Malta benefits from superb connections to several Polish cities, making the island accessible all year round from all major airports. This shows how the Polish market played a key role in contributing towards the tourism recovery and the encouraging results achieved in 2023.

Poland stands as the fastest-growing source market for inbound tourism in Malta. The agreement with ITAKA, continues to amplify the significant potential Malta holds in the Polish market. Polish people visit Malta all year round typically for short breaks, family holidays, English language learning and active holidays. Polish travellers look for warm and hospitable destinations like the Maltese Islands. That said, Malta has become more popular in Poland not only for the Islands' pleasant climate and the hospitality of the Maltese people but, more importantly, for the overall exceptional holiday experience promised and delivered to visitors that is achieved through a rich heritage and a diverse tourism product that caters to all ages and interests, and the constantly growing number of connections and seat capacity between Malta and Poland.

Thanks to this agreement with ITAKA, and the continued excellent connectivity between the two countries, the MTA is confident that the influx of visitors from Poland will persist in its growth over the upcoming years.

Dr Gulia stated "Today we are celebrating the remarkable tourism performance we had in 2023, which led to a successful recovery of the tourism sector in Malta. I strongly believe that although the Polish source market has heavily contributed to this success, there is still room for growth. Thanks to this agreement with ITAKA and their commitment in selling Malta, Alpine Sterling for their great collaboration as the local DMC for ITAKA, Mr Tony Zahra, President of MHRA, MTA's Regional office in Warsaw, under the direction of Regional Director Mr Jimmy Attard, Mr Arthur Grima, Director Marketing, all the staff working within the MTA, and the continued excellent connectivity between the two countries, the MTA is confident that the influx of visitors from Poland will persist in its growth over the upcoming years".

"The Polish market is proving to be one of Malta's most emerging source markets in recent years. This is being achieved thanks to the sterling work being done by the Malta Tourism Authority to ensure that the Maltese Islands continue to be an attractive destination all year round. We are looking forward to see more Polish tourists visit the splendour of the Maltese Islands for the months and years to come," outlined Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness Clayton Bartolo.

Itaka: Leading the Way with Resabee in Poland’s Travel Industry

Itaka and Resabee – a perfect fusion of travel industry leaders

Among various Polish travel agencies, Itaka has been leading in rapid growth after the pandemic. Their turnover in 2022 reached PLN 2.81 billion (1.63 bn in 2020) which is almost the same as in 2019 – 2.85 bn. In 2022, Itaka reported the highest revenue among all travel agencies operating in Poland. This is partly because of the partnership with Resabee – an innovative booking system for tourism-related businesses. Thanks to the Resabee platform, they are able to better serve customers’ needs and, most importantly, reach and retain more clients via the booking system. One of the most important features that have been the making of the success is Resabee’s Dynamic Packaging – the feature that allows customers to select their desired travel components so that the system can dynamically generate a custom package with real-time pricing and availability.

Is tourism back on track for full recovery?

During the first half of 2023, international tourist arrivals reached almost 84% of pre-pandemic levels. More and more people have been traveling and the number has been rapidly growing since the beginning of 2022. The recovery can be seen in every part of the world and all regions enjoyed strong rates of tourism recovery over the first months of 2023. It’s mostly driven by demand for international travel from the largest source markets such as the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. At the same time, most travel agents admit that they had to adapt and implement or improve travel industry solutions. 

According to the UNWTO, over 900 million people traveled in 2022. This is double the number of 2021; however, it’s still much less than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Money spent on tourism has been increasing which results in some regions recovering faster than others.

Is Poland also recovering?

In 2020, the total value of the tourism economy in Poland was estimated at PLN 104.3 billion. This was 26.4% less when compared to 2019. Unfortunately, the pandemic wasn’t the only disaster that happened to Polish tourism – the beginning of the war in Ukraine resulted in a decline in bookings across the country. For over a year now, due to the persisting uncertainty of the multiple crises, the pace of tourism rebound in Poland has been hard to forecast. 

What about travel agencies and international travel of Polish people? According to the Touroperators 2023 report, 2022 turned out to be better than expected despite the challenges. Traveling went back to normal a few months after the war in Ukraine started and once the COVID-19 restrictions were finally taken down, the tourism sector breathed a sigh of relief. Especially since the second quarter of 2022, the increase in bookings could be noticed. According to popular portals such as wakacje.pl, travelplanet.pl, and fly.pl, tourists were choosing Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Egypt, Spain, and Tunisia the most often. The biggest peak in bookings was obviously reported during the summer months of 2022.
