Jackson Wang Plots a World Tour for ‘Magic Man’: ‘Finally’

Jackson Wang is getting ready to hit the road. On Wednesday (Sept. 28), the GOT7 member announced his plans for a world tour in support of his recently released album, Magic Man .

Wang revealed the details of his 2022-2023 trek via his social media accounts, excitedly writing, “Finally. The 1st time in my life I get to properly tour now. After all this … MAGIC MAN WORLD TOUR 2022-2023 #MAGICMAN is coming. See u there. I promise it’s different.”

In 2023, the 28-year-old will take his tour to London on Jan. 12, and to Paris three days later on Jan. 15. Dubai is also getting a visit, with Wang performing on Feb. 4. The tour poster, which features the singer in a leather jacket, states “and more,” hinting at possible tour dates to come.

Wang released Magic Man , his second solo studio album, on Sept. 9; it debuted at No. 15 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The set charted even higher on Billboard ‘s Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts at No. 3.

Speaking with People , Wang explained that Magic Man is “way more extreme than all the stuff that I’ve released in the past. And I think it’s because on this album, I’m in my most raw form that I’ve ever been in my career as a solo artist, just not caring about whoever I was and whatever I had before. And [I] just want to go for being completely me and with no filter.”

It’s the first US headline tour the K-pop star has undertaken

Jackson Wang has confirmed details of his first ever North American headline tour, in support of second studio album ‘Magic Man’  – check out dates below and grab tickets here .

Wang’s “I’m not a mystery, I’m just magic” tour kicks off April 26 at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. The six-date run will then visit San Francisco, Vancouver, Chicago and Toronto before finishing up in New York on May 11.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10am local time on January 20, and will be available here . A pre-sale is set to take place January 18.

Announcing the run of shows, the GOT7 member wrote , “Can’t wait to share ‘Magic Man’”.

Wang announced the first leg of his ‘Magic Man’ world tour last year , with three shows in Southeast Asia. He started 2023 with a London headline show and tomorrow (January 15) he’s set to play Paris before a February headline show in Dubai.

During a recent show in Bangkok, Wang gave some fans a lap-dance and embraced the front row while carrying a bottle of alcohol.

In a four-star review, NME wrote : “The best moments on ‘Magic Man’ come when Wang combines his commitment with a casual, cool attitude that’s borderline playful – when he edges close to the mysterious, charming persona of the album’s title. After making stops in Asia and Europe last year, the MAGIC MAN World Tour is finally making its way to North America this spring. Making the initial announcement on his social channels today (January 13), multi-talented pop icon Jackson Wang will bring the tour to six North American cities — four in the US and two in Canada.

The tour will kick off in Los Angeles, California’s Shrine Auditorium on April 16 and will make its way east then conclude in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclay’s Center. Pre-sale for tickets begins next Wednesday, January 18, and will open to the public on Friday, January 20. For more information and updates, visit the tour’s official site .

In addition to his tour announcement, it was revealed Jackson Wang (as well as fellow 88rising artists DPR Live and DPR Ian) will bring the MAGIC MAN show to the desert at Coachella. Scheduled to perform on the Sunday lineup (April 16 and 23) of the annual music and arts festival, you can catch a glimpse of what Jackson Wang’s concert will look like at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California ahead of Frank Ocean’s set. This comes after Jackson made history as the first Chinese soloist to perform at Coachella as part of 88rising’s Head in the Clouds Forever set last year.

Jackson kicked off his MAGIC MAN World Tour with sold out shows in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, London and Paris to celebrate the release of his sophomore album MAGIC MAN (TEAM WANG records/88rising Records/Warner Records/RYCE MUSIC GROUP) featuring previously released singles "Blue," "Cruel" and "Blow."

Jackson Wang is a Chinese singer, record producer, creative director, and founder of TEAM WANG. Jackson was a sabre fencer for Hong Kong's fencing team-He was ranked eleventh in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. And throughout Jackson's sports career, he won first place at three Asian competitions, three national competitions, and nine international and Hong Kong competitions.

In 2014, Jackson debuted as a member of JYP entertainment's K-pop group GOT7 in Korea. In 2017, Jackson Wang founded TEAM WANG. In 2021, Jackson Wang left JYP entertainment and came back to TEAM WANG in China, and started releasing his solo music. In the same year, Jackson Wang announced PANTHEPACK, a 4-member Chinese music group consisting of Jackson Wang, Karencici, ICE, and J.Sheon, under TEAM WANG.

The new tour dates are the latest addition to the ongoing world tour, which just wrapped up its London leg and will be headed to Paris and Dubai in the next couple of weeks. Last year, the multihyphenate performed sold-out concerts across Asia from Singapore  to Bangkok, plus headlining stints at Head In The Clouds Jakarta  and Manila.

My husband and I will be in moscow and wanted to take a side trip..understand Vladimir & Suzdal is quite nice. Do you prefer that to Sergiev Posad? Do you know any agencies that provide group tours or private tours to Vladimir & Suzdal? I understand that Patriarshy Dom is not operating its group tour during this time. Please advise. Any information you have to share would be helpful.

Vladimir & Suzdal are close to each other. you can use vladimir as base and also visit suzdal.

My sugestion would be to go to Vladimir by train from moscow in the evening, take rest and then join a full day tour of vladimir - suzdal and return at night or next day morning. The train takes 2-3 hrs. Details available at http://www.poezda.net ( in english) .You can even book online

Trains are clean and safe. Hotel Vladimir at Vladimir is ok. near the train station. you can find the contacts in google. ( book the tickets in advance.)

You can visit sergiev possad ( quite near to moscow) using the moscow based tour agency mentioned above. They offer day trips to Sergivev possad.

If you want to search the net further, go to http://www.yandex.ru ( russian website) and type in "vladimir tour" or "suzdal tour" in ENGLISH. This will give you many sites with english option

will you consider a DIY trip?

from moscow to vladimir take a long-distance train or a suburban (electrichek) train from kursky station. there are several in the daytime/early evening. certain long-distance trains are faster and can arrive in 2 hours. suburbans take 3 hrs. probably less complicated to buy suburban ticket than one of a long-distance train (where you need passport, specify what type of seat, which train number...) and also cheaper

once in vladimir you can walk around for 1-2 hours or even have your dinner there. then take a bus (avtobus) at the bus station just up a slope from the train station. the bus runs every 30-60mins till late. i took the one around 8-9pm. and the evening buses go directly into city centre of suzdal. the trip is about 40-60mins

the tricky part is if you reserve your accomodation in suzdal with a guesthouse/B&B, it may not be easy to locate. the one i had booked did not have a sign hanging at the door. i walked around for about an hour and at last had to find a local to talk to my host over phone and then she kindly led me to the right wooden house

Webasto, market leader for roof systems and parking heaters, opened its new Russian sales and service center on June 27, 2017 in Lobnya (Moscow Oblast). At the official opening ceremony Dr. Holger Engelmann, Chairman of the Management Board, Webasto SE, explained: “As a classic cold market, Russia is of strategic importance for us. We have had our own subsidiary there since 2000. By moving from Moscow’s city center to our new building complex in the north of the capital we are now significantly expanding our presence.” The new Russian Thermo headquarters extends over an area of 4,000 square meters and includes an administration area, training rooms, assembly space and two garages. Webasto has invested a total of some 10 million euro in the new location.

From Lobnya, Webasto will supply the Russian factories of automotive manufacturers with heating systems for installation as original equipment. Furthermore, from here the company will in future also supply its four distribution sites in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, as well as over 60 dealers and some 500 garages throughout the country with parking heathers for retrofit applications. In the garages in Lobnya, Webasto retrofits parking heaters into passenger cars as well as commercial and special vehicles. Initially, the new capacities in the production area will be used primarily for the final assembly of water heaters of the Thermo Top Evo range.

The quality and reliability of Webasto heating systems have been highly valued in Russia for decades. “Our parking heaters are so well known in this country that in Russia the term ‘parking heater’ has simply become synonymous with ‘Webasto’”, emphasized Engelmann. The demand for these products remains strong and Webasto foresees excellent growth potential here in future. “The transport infrastructure in Lobnya offers a very good starting point for further expanding our Russian business,” commented Engelmann.

Some 150 customers and partners, together with representatives from politics and administration, celebrated the opening of the Lobnya site with Webasto. The Russian and German guests included, among others, the mayor of the town of Lobnya, Evgeni Smyschljaew, the Head of the Department of Economic and Science at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation, Thomas Graf, and the Executive Chairman of the German/Russian Foreign Chamber of Trade, Matthias Schepp.
