Twilight Alive Concert Series- Departure: The Journey Tribute Band

Join us on Friday nights throughout the Summer for concerts in Downtown Kingsport! Music starts at 7 p.m.

Free concert on the 100 block of Broad Street- bring a lawn chair- no coolers, please. Beer Sales are available on the street. Enjoy dinner from many Downtown restaurants and vendors on-site.

Event calendar purpose and criteria.

A calendar has been created called the This is Kingsport events calendar which will serve as a non-public forum to provide citizens with information about social and organizational gatherings held within the city. The city will disseminate information to the public through this online calendar about social and organizational gatherings which are conducted or promoted by community partners with which the city currently has partnership agreements. Additionally, social or organizational gatherings held on city owned property to which the public at large is invited will be published on this calendar.

Each year the city enters into partnership agreements with multiple community partners some of whom in turn support the city by organizing events or promoting events of members and affiliates. By creating a common source for the dissemination of information about community events the city will be furthering its support of those community partners which in turn support the city. Moreover, the city wishes to and will benefit from highlighting gatherings which will be of benefit and enjoyment to the public.

Community partners may communicate their events or those which they promote to the city which will disseminate the information through the event calendar. Furthermore, the city of Kingsport will publish on the calendar those community events which are held on city property. In order to achieve the city’s goals only those events described herein will be published on the This is Kingsport event calendar which will be curated by city staff.

Tickets for the ‘2022 Revolution Tour’ go ON SALE AT NOON THIS FRIDAY, December 3rd.  In addition to General Admission tickets ($22.50), there will also be VIP tickets available ($60) which include admission to the show AND a pre-show VIP Experience.

The VIP EXPERIENCE allows entrance into the venue at 5pm for seating ahead of the general public, early food & bar service, access to listen to portion of sound check, Q&A session with the band, photo and autograph opportunities…in addition to a RAJT Merch Pack! There will be a LIMITED number of VIP tickets for sale, so please log on to TicketWeb this Friday at noon to grab ‘em up! While the VIP ticket allows purchaser entrance into the venue at 5pm, it DOES NOT allow VIP ticket holders to hold seats or tables for others not attending the VIP Experience.

Obituary of Holly Lynn Burgess

Holly Lynn Burgess, 41, of Clintwood, VA & Gate City, VA, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Dickenson Community Hospital.

Holly was born in Kingsport, TN on April 17, 1982. She graduated from Carroll County High School. Holly was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and extended family at Journey House.

She was preceded in death  by her step-fathers, James Hillman and Ed Price; maternal grandparents, A.B. and Ova Coley.

Surviving are her mother, Patty Hillman, Gate City, VA; father, Bobby Joe Burgess, New Kent, VA; sisters, Melissa Seaver (Brandon), Gate City, VA, Melanie McMurray (Matt), Gate City, VA; step-sister, Maretta Radford (David), Jacksonville, FL; step-brother, Jimmy Hillman (Tracy), Mt. Carmel, TN; nieces and nephews, Paige Seaver, Ayden Seaver, Trent Seaver, Elijah McMurray, Elan McMurray, Salem McMurray, Andrew Radford (Jami), Tucker Hillman and Riley Hillman (Brianna).

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Gate City United Methodist Church, 255 Walnut St, Gate City, VA. Services will be held at 5:00 pm with Pastor Vernon McDavid and Rev. David Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Kristen Smith.

Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matt McMurray, Elijah McMurray, Elan McMurray, Landon Fletcher and friends of the family. Brandon Seaver will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Journey House. You can mail a check to 5168 Dickenson Hwy, Clintwood, VA 24228 or give online through PayPal to Director Tempa Rasnick @JourneyHouse12.
