London Eye River Cruise
The London Eye River Cruise is a 40-minute circular sightseeing tour on the River Thames with live commentary. It takes in many of London's most famous sights including the Houses of Parliament , St. Paul's Cathedral , HMS Belfast, and the Tower of London .
London Eye River Cruise Review
The London Eye River Cruise is a popular addition for visitors to the London Eye. While on the London Eye you do not have any commentary but can spend time admiring the views. On this cruise you have live commentary to help you discover the historical significance of each landmark as you pass by, including many of the bridges that cross the river. The commentary is both factual and entertaining.
Everyone who takes this river cruise will learn something new about one of the attractions they pass. And, of course, you can ask a real person questions, so don't be shy. (Multi-lingual audio guides are available too.)
Another important point to note is the fact this cruise brings you back to the same location by County Hall so you're still on the South Bank for plenty of evening dining options. Just walk down to the Southbank Centre or Gabriel's Wharf and the OXO Tower for options to suit all budgets.
The London Eye River Cruise allows you to have a riverside view of the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern , Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Tower Bridge , and the Tower of London.
- It takes in many big London sights in a short space of time
- It brings you back to County Hall on the South Bank so you're still in central London
- It runs all year round, whatever the weather
- It's free children under four
- There are multi-lingual audio guides available

What an absolute mess.
What an absolute mess. Staff are rude and the smell of the Thames in the summer is disgusting. London is a dirty horrible place avoid it at all costs.

Great day out.
Arrived early today and on checking with staff when I should return to book in I was told we could get on early as there were spaces. Really appreciated that as we were only on a day trip and the early admission meant we could explore a bit more. Not too many people per pod which allowed free movement and uncluttered photo opportunities. All in all a very enjoyable experience. The ice cream stall nearby was reasonably priced and the ice cream was excellent.

Shout out to Tim aka Titan of the Thames!
We combined the river cruise and the London eye. Both were brilliant and really enjoyable. Tim, our guide on the boat, was absolutely fantastic. Full of fun and enthusiasm. A breath of fresh air when most tours now only offer audio guides. Not only did Tim deal with the queue of ticketholders before boarding, but proceeded to give a witty but informative tour of London's iconic sights. Thank you.

Multi buy ticket scam
We have just paid 200 for 3 attractions on Sunday and the site is saying no available time slots for the London dungeon so we will not be able to go. The site itself has availability FOR EVERY time slot during Sunday. You cannot see the availability b4 they take your money. Ruined our families London weekend b4 we have set off. Just seen so many others have this problem with this site also.

We combined the river cruise and the London eye. Both were brilliant and really enjoyable. Luke, our guide on the boat, was absolutely fantastic. Full of fun and enthusiasm. A breath of fresh air when most tours now only offer audio guides. Not only did Luke deal with the queue of ticketholders before boarding, but proceeded to give a witty and informative tour of London's iconic sights. We followed this up with a ride on the london eye later in the afternoon...just as it had gone dark...fast tracked using our merlin passes and the view was amazing...the 30 minute duration is about the right amount of time. Highly recommend both...just watch your timings.

London cruise
I booked a cruise on the Thames, the best money spent in this city, we highly recommend it, we chose the evening hours, the cruise lasted about 40 minutes, the lady whose name starts with the letter T told interesting stories during the trip and was very funny, even my 13-year-old son had a great time
Date of experience : 16 February 2024
What a rip off!
What a rip off!! Paying £40 per adult and £36 per child over the age of 3 for a 30 minute ride in a crammed pod deserves to be categorised under a new criminal offence under the heading 'daylight robbery without threat of/or violence'. If it wasn't for the fear of disappointing my 2 children I would definitely have walked away. Save your money and spend it somewhere else. Alton Towers offers a full day of entertainment for the same money not 30 minutes. And no 'I will not be flying with you again'

Stunning views above the Thames
Stunning views above the Thames. Efficient ticketing service. Clean toilets available in the ticket office. I appreciate the no food rules while on the ride as it keeps the place clean for all. Highly recommended.

Thank you London Eye - great customer service
I received an email from London Eye on the 17th midday ish to tell me that they had taken the difficult decision to close the London Eye today due to Storm Eunice. It was easy to contact them by email to request a reschedule. Thank you London Eye one of all but one companies who have been fantastic in the event of our trip being cancelled in the end due to the storm.
Date of experience : 18 February 2022
Disgusting how you book tickets for a certain time to be put into hours long lines. Too bad if you make plans for your evening?? No option to reschedule or cancel, you just lose your money! An investigation should be made into their conduct

Hi there, Thanks for leaving a review about your trip to the lastminute.com London Eye. I’m sorry to hear your wait to get up in the sky was longer than expected. We’re the most popular paid attraction in London, so sometimes there are lots and lots of people waiting to take flight at the same time. But we do try very hard to stagger time slots and keep waiting times as short as possible. We have passed your feedback onto the attractions managements Kind regards, Helga Customer Services Team The lastminute.com London Eye
Not possible to change booking
I wanted to book London Eye/Madame Tussauds, but then by mistake chose only London Eye - definitely my error. But anyway, the agent told me that there is no chance to change respectively to upgrade the booking. I can't understand that, I was also told no reason why it is not possible.

Worth a visit but could be better
Amazing tourist attraction. Would be much better if they had a commentary explaining what your able to see ect. We had disabled tickets and weren't told until at the front of the queue we should of used the fast track entrance.

MULTI-TICKET SCAM!
MULTI-TICKET SCAM! Like others... Bought a multi ticket for London Eye and river cruise at a specific date/time. Once bought only the cruise time was set, the London Eye booking had to be 'modified'. This is when I found that there was no availability for the next 5 days, even though there was availability when checking their website for a new booking. No Refunds available! Shocking that all attraction times can't be booked when placing the order and I can only presume that this is a ploy to get more revenue from unsuspecting tourists... Judging by the number of reviews concerning this issue.

The London Eye takes about 30mins to complete a full rotation so you get plenty of time to gaze out of the glass pod. There are benches and interactive features in the pods that ensure the customer experience comes first. I am very impressed with the London Eye and I would recommend it to all

SNEAKY TRICK
I was booking tickets to take my 2 grandaughters on the London Eye via tesco club partners. I duly checked availability as per instructions on the clubcard/ partner website and availability confirmed. I then converted my vouchers to enable my booking and the availability was no longer there. On checking the London Eye website it would appear that there is availability all week if your tickets are not being supported by tesco vouchers. A mean trick by the London Eye, are you so profit led that you were unable to fulfill this request. I am unable to afford the £97 and will sadly have to let my grandchildren down on their first visit to London

The London Eye false promises
The London Eye website offers family tickets by reduced price. But that’s just not true if it falls during "pick/holiday period" (customer support person’s words). There’s no any small print about it. Frustrating experience!

A must. wonderful way to visit London and see so many historic sites. Start your tour here, and orient yourself to the city. The guides were amusing and informative, but please comment "wharf" is an old Scandinavian word, and not an epigram.

Very relaxing way to see London, and we got this river tour included in our Big Bus package. The tour guide had a good sense of humor, so it was way better than any kind of narrated audio playback thing. The river tour wasn't too long and easy to so many things. Perfect for a diverse traveling group of kids, parents, and grandparents. Good to do this on the first stay to help get your bearings and a sense of what parts of London to explore more later.
Great people working ticket booth and the boat. Highly recommend. Easy to hop on and off.
I'd like to think that we brought the California sun to London....our river cruise was perfect om a sunny day. This was part of our London tour and it was nice to see different sights and not have to walk around or be stuck in traffic. I was really impressed at how big the Thames is and loved seeing all the landmarks. I really enjoyed this part of the tour because we didn't have to ride around on a windy bus and admired everything from inside the boat.
If you've done one river cruise, you've done them all. They spew some interesting facts about the area that you'll soon forget. It was included in a package we did. I wouldn't pay for it any other way. The people taking tickets were kind of rude. Oh well. It was a nice day for a boat ride.
An excellent idea for a sunny afternoon in London. My family and I took the round trip from St. Katherine's docks to the Thames barrier and back to Greenwich pier. The weather was beautiful, most people got off shortly after we got on (the boat stops at Greenwich both ways), so we got to sit at the front and enjoy the industrial calm of the river after leaving the centre of the city. We were not expecting anything more than a hop-on ferry type service from the boat trip, however the skipper provided a full commentary from start to finish, with only a small break between Greenwich and the approach to the barrier. He was local, knowledgeable and had obviously done his research. He explained about the regeneration of Deptford, the Tate and Lyle sugar refinery, plus the mechanism of the Thames barrier itself! Another benefit to this tour over others is the value for money - the boat was slower than the clipper ferries, so my parents were entertained for around 2 hours on this trip! When we got off in Greenwich, we were on the doorstep of the excellent maritime museum, which was another great activity!
A super relaxing boat trip - well recommended!
We did the 'Circular Cruise' from Embankment Pier to Tower Bridge and back. At £13.15 per adult, part of me says its a bit much for what it is, and the other part says sure, what else can ya do for 13 quid in an hour (I think it took about 50 minutes or so)? It was Ok. Not super or fab, just Ok. The guide/speaker was entertaining, but I couldn't always hear him. He only chattered away up to Tower Bridge, and the return journey is silent. If you've the money to spare, go ahead If your tight on cash, walk it yourself with a guidebook. I've walked up and down the embankments many times, so maybe that's why I wasn't terribly impressed.
This is a great alternative way to get to commute round London. If you already have a travelcard £2.60 will get you from Canary Wharf to Embankment complete with a scenic route and a tourguide! Highly recommended when there's a tube strike but also for a nice day out.
I enjoyed the Thames river cruise! Our guide was very knowledgeable. It's a great tour to see more of London on the waterfront. You also will have great views of some of the big attractions (I.e. London tower, Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben), Shakespeare's globe, and many others).
One of the few river tours that goes beyond Greenwich and explores the Thames flood barrier. The tour will take around 3 hours if you don't include any off shore excursions to Greenwich. The boat is of average size and is clearly a well used boat on the Thames. Unlike the large touristy boats, this one is manned by friendly and knowledgeable crew. Remember to bring cash if you want to take advantage of the bar downstairs and also make sure you don't leave your tour too late (past 2pm) or the light will fade.
Busy... Even on a Sunday.

The London Eye is totally worth it. I think just like you'd visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, you'd visit the London Eye in England's capital. We experienced many incredible views of London during our 10-days in this city, and will be writing a post sharing them all soon.
