Our shark cage adventures are the culmination of many years in the waters we operate. We currently sail from Keys Fisheries Seafood Restaurant, Market, & Marina. Our vessel has been outfitted to run at speed with our super strong, custom built cage. The cage comfortably holds two at a time and the entrance and egress into and out of the cage has been designed to easily provide access by everyone. If you’re not comfortable in the cage, the view from the cockpit is also spectacular. Most who begin watching from the cockpit quickly see how exciting and safe the cage is and find themselves venturing in before the trip has ended. You do not have to have any experience as a diver to fully enjoy the beauty of sharks.

Welcome to Florida Keys Shark Diving . The professional team at Keys Shark Diving has years of experience getting guests up close and personal with sharks in the open ocean.

The Florida Keys and its offshore waters are the natural habitats of a diverse variety of pelagic shark species. Whether it’s your first time diving with a shark or your 100th, our team possesses the rare combination of knowledge, experience, and equipment to help make your shark diving adventure completely unforgettable.

At Keys Shark Diving we currently offer two unique excursions for our guests. Our first trip is the Shark Viewing Trip , these are half-day (4 hour) trips that take place just a few miles from the dock in the calm waters inshore waters of the Florida Keys. Shark Viewing Trips are non-diving trips and are perfect for families or those just looking to see sharks up close without getting in the water.

The second trip we offer is a Shark Diving Trip which takes place in a shark cage a few miles offshore in the Gulf Stream offshore from the Florida Keys. These are generally full-day trips but half-day trips can be arranged. No scuba certification is needed for these trips as the cage floats right on the surface next to the boat. Each Predator Reef Tank Feeding lasts roughly 15 minutes. The Shark Tank is accessible for viewing during all open hours.

EXPERIENCE THE RAW POWER OF SHARKS

An unforgettable experience at an affordable price.

This Shark & Barracuda Fishing trip is a fantastic way to have a fun day out on the water in a budget-friendly way. Captain Greg doesn’t have to go very far offshore to find big fish! First Captain Greg will take you and your party trolling for Barracuda, a long sleek predator capable of swimming at high speeds. Barracuda can grow over 50lbs with records even breaking the 100lb mark. Kids love to get a firsthand look at the incredible mouth of a Barracuda that is filled with long piranha-like teeth slanted in multiple directions to keep prey from slipping away.

Next, depending on the fishing conditions of the day, Captain Greg will either take you to the reef on the Ocean side or the shallower waters of the Gulf side. If you fish the Atlantic side, you will either drift or anchor as Captain Greg chums the sharks to the boat. Shark fishing on the ocean side can yield any number of species of shark but you would be specifically targeting Blacktip Sharks, Bull Sharks, Nurse Sharks and even the occasional Tiger Shark!

If the conditions of the day suggest fishing the Gulf side, you will be anchoring up and chumming for Blacktip Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Lemon Sharks and Blacknose Sharks. There are many other types of species of shark you may hook including Bonnethead Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, and Bull Sharks. Every now and then even a rare Mako or  Spinner Shark can make an appearance.

Bull Sharks are found in all depths of water surrounding the Florida Keys.  Adults weight between 200-300lbs typically. These sharks are known for their aggressive behavior and very sharp teeth. Bull Sharks primarily eat Fish, Lobster, Crab, Dolphins, Birds and even other Sharks.

Kids absolutely love catching Barracuda! What’s not to love? They can swim at 25 miles an hour putting up a great fight on light tackle. They also have huge prehistoric looking teeth in their jaws that kids are always blown away by.

Very fun day! Greg and Chris were great with my kids (ages 11, 9, and 7). Never had to wait for bait or touch a fish. Caught plenty of delicious fish that we took to a nearby restaurant to have it blackened, coconut fried, and sautéed. Great trip!

My wife and I had a great time fishing with captain Greg and his first mate! Caught a lot of fish. Non stop action. Greg and Chris were awesome!! Worked hard and are very friendly!! I would definitely recommend them!

Florida Shark Diving gets you up close and personal with sharks in their natural surroundings, with some of the largest numbers of sharks in the world.

You can sign up as a rider and observe from the boat. You’ll be able to see lots of varieties of sharks depending on the time of year, including:

Emerald Charters Shark Tours

Emerald Charters offers shark dives in Jupiter, Florida. Certified divers can see a variety of sharks.

Some possible shark types you could see include bull sharks, hammerheads, tiger sharks, lemon sharks, and more.

You must be a certified diver to go out with this charter.

Sea Life Orlando

SeaLife Orlando is an indoor aquarium under the Orlando Eye (Icon Park). Visitors to SeaLife can see a variety of sharks and other fish and sea life.

At SeaLife, you can see Epaulette Sharks, Bamboo Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Zebra Sharks, and Bonnethead Sharks.

You will have to pay admission to see these sharks at this attraction. However, parking is free in the dedicated parking garage.

Miami Shark Tours

Miami Shark Tours offers 4-hour boat tours in Biscayne Bay. They can bring sharks near the boat using bait without ever going into the water.

This allows those not interested in diving to see sharks in the wild. It’s common to see Lemon Sharks, Bull Sharks, Blacktips, Hammerheads, and Tiger Sharks.

Discovery Cove Orlando

Do you want to swim with sharks in a safe environment? Discovery Cove Orlando offers a shark swim for an additional fee.

You will have the opportunity to swim with more than 20 sharks in the habitat. You can also free swim with blacktip reef, nurse, zebra, and bonnethead sharks.

This is pricier than most places we profile on Authentic Florida, but it’s a fantastic experience.

BONUS #1: Shark Bite Capital of the World

It’s hard to believe, but the charming city of New Smyrna Beach is also known as the Shark Bite Capital of the World.

It’s really all of Volusia County that has been given that title. New Smyrna Beach just happens to be located in Volusia County.

The reality is unprovoked shark attacks have been down considerably in the past decade. In fact, you have a 50% better chance of being struck by lightning than being attacked by a shark.

Volusia County has a five-year annual average of nine attacks, according to the  International Shark Attack File (ISAF) . 

So don’t believe the hype. However, it’s best to swim near a lifeguard and use common sense if swimming in the ocean. Remember, it’s their home, too.
