Panjim or Panaji, the state capital of Goa, is beside the Mandovi River. It has the Miramar Beach, Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Fontainhas or the Latin Quarter, the Goa State Museum, Science Center, Campal Gardens, and several casinos, but most tourists visit Panjim for a cruise in Goa . She was so strong and logical with her arguments that the king himself was incapable of countering them and has a then he formed a committee of 50 philosophers to debate her ideas.However, even the assembly conceded defeat in front of her and confessed Christianity as their belief. Out of anger, the king burnt the philosophers alive and sentenced st.catherine to prison. Catherine did not give up, and she was succeeded in converting not only the jailers but also the king's wife. It is believed that she showed the path of Christianity to 200 people. Even when she was facing the worse condition of her life, she continued to stretch the word of Jesus. She was honoured with the title of"patroness of the wheel-wrights" because it is believed then when she was fastened to a spiked wheel as it was mentioned in her death sentence the wheel broke and she was left uninjured. And when she was finally beheaded, it is said that angle took her remains and laid them to rest atop Mount Sinai. The Cathedral has been built on an elevated base of laterite, which is covered with the thick lime plaster.You can also see the bell tower which is located on the southern side of the façade. The building of the church is rectangular on the plan but has a cruciform layout in the interior. The main altar is devoted to Catherine of Alexandria, and you can also see several old paintings on either side of it. You can also see the Chapel, which is known as the Cross of Miracles, it is believed that there was an image of Christ that was said to have appeared in 1619.

There is no onsite parking (as claimed at the time of booking) and you need to take a lot of U-turns and use google maps to park your vehicle at Pay n Park at a mall which is just opposite to the jetty..lot of locals will be standing on the main road and try to mislead you with directions for parking and sell tickts in black in order to make money. Better have your tickts booked online on goibibo or MMT as it is cheaper and will save u getting looted. After parking the vehicle again I had to ask 3 different people on how to reach the jetty.. There is a narrow passage below the main bridge for this.. Now to collect the passes I went to the counter (after asking 5 different people as local business people will try to confuse you with their own passes). On reaching the counter they took about 20 minutes to find the confirmation email (that too after my assistance). Then we could finally enter the jetty. Boat ride and shows were okay for the price. Crowd was full of drunkards and few families and couples. Altogether it was a waste experience. There are no signboard whatsoever. Lots of misleading people in and around the premises. Sub standard arrangements. 1 soft drink and 1 poor samosa is beung offered complimentary. I am giving 1 Star only for the amazing view during night. Read more Written 14 December 2019
