2024 Valspar Championship money: Purse, payout breakdown, winner’s share
Keith Mitchell holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round of the Valspar Championship.

Sunday could be a big day for Keith Mitchell. The 32-year-old took the lead at the Valspar Championship in dramatic fashion on Saturday, holing out from the fairway on the 18th hole for eagle to claim a two-shot advantage heading into the final round.
A win at Innisbrook’s Copperhead course would mark the second of Mitchell’s career, following his 2019 victory at the Honda Classic. And, it would come with a sweet payday: $1.512 million of an $8.4 million purse.
But Mitchell’s chasers aren’t going to make it easy for him. Two-time PGA Tour winner Mackenzie Hughes is only two shots back, and 11 other players are within four shots of Mitchell’s lead at 10 under, including Cameron Young and Brendon Todd (-7) and Adam Hadwin (-6).

Houston Open payout distribution 2024: Prize money, purse
T he predominant narrative coming into the 2024 Houston Open was, naturally, about the No. 1-ranked player in golf, Scottie Scheffler. Not only was he the heavy favorite for this week's PGA Tour event, but he was looking for his third straight win this season after capturing victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship.
After the first three rounds of action, Scheffler entered Sunday's final round in great position to accomplish the historic feat, sitting tied for the lead after 54 holes. But it was a logjam atop the Houston Open leaderboard coming into the final round with chasers like Thomas Detry, David Skinns, Alejandro Tosti, Stephan Jaeger, Taylor Moore and Akshay Bhatia, among others, all trying to overtake the World No. 1 for a crucial PGA Tour win.
They were all also vying for the biggest share of the Houston Open purse by earning a nice prize money payout for the week. How much money were they playing for this week, though? We have it all broken down with a full payout distribution and everything you need to know.
Houston Open purse 2024: Winner's prize money, total purse
The winner of the 2024 Houston Open will take home $1.638 million in prize money this week on the PGA Tour while also winning a standard non-signature event prize of 500 FedEx Cup points. The total purse at the Houston Open in the 2024 season is set at $9.1 million this year, which is an increase from the last time the tournament was played in the fall of 2022. It may not be the same money we saw at the API or THE PLAYERS or that we will see at The Masters , but it's still a nice haul for a week's work on the golf course.
Houston Open payout distribution by finishing position in 2024
Here's a look at the full 2024 Houston Open payout distribution for every finishing position, all the way from the winner's prize money of $1.638 million to the 83rd and final player to make the cut and play the weekend, who will take home $16,289.
The winner of the Houston Open is the only player who will take home seven figures in prize money this week, but all of the Top 22 finishers at Memorial Park will clear the six-figure mark this week on the PGA Tour.
There were a ton of players who made the cut as 83 players were tied for 65th or better after the first two rounds, which stretches out the purse for this tournament a bit at the bottom of the finishing positions. Even still, though, it's a fine payday for a good four days of golf, especially for those who didn't finish strong and stayed at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Scottie Scheffler's putter cooperated for the first time in nearly a year, and he dominated Sunday to shoot six-under 66 and easily win the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the second time. He shot 15-under-par 273 total and took home $4 million from the $20 million purse, topping Wyndham Clark by five shots.
It was Scheffler's seventh PGA Tour victory and first since winning the Players Championship a year ago.
Scheffler, whose putting woes have been widely documented, led the field in strokes gained/putting on Sunday, needing only 24 putts on the round. He was fifth in SG/putting for the week.
"I played a good round of golf," Scheffler said. "Just did my best to keep things rolling."
Clark shot a final-round 70 but could not mount any pressure for Scheffler, who was solidly in control at the turn. Shane Lowry shot 72 to finish third. Russell Henley and Will Zalatoris tied for fourth place.
The PGA Tour stays in Florida for the third week, but now moves north to Ponte Vedra Beach for the Players Championship at infamous TPC Sawgrass. Scheffler is the defending champion.
Here is the prize money breakdown for all the players this week who made the cut.

2024 Valero Texas Open one and done picks, sleepers, field: PGA Tour predictions, expert golf betting advice
Mike mcclure locked in his expert pga one and done golf picks, projected leaderboard, and sleepers for valero texas open 2024 at the oaks course at tpc san antonio.
The final push towards the 2024 Masters is on with the PGA Tour staying in the Lone Star State this week for the 2024 Valero Texas Open at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy headlines the 2024 Valero Texas Open field. McIlroy, who is looking for one final tuneup before heading to Augusta, is the 15-2 betting favorite in the latest 2024 Valero Texas Open odds. He is followed by Ludvig Åberg (12-1), Hideki Matsuyama (18-1), Max Homa (18-1), Jordan Spieth (18-1), Collin Morikawa (20-1), Corey Conners (22-1), and Matt Fitzpatrick (25-1). The total 2024 Valero Texas Open purse is $9.2 million, with the winner's share coming in at $1.66 million. The winner of this event will also earn 500 FedEx Cup points.
With this being a surprisingly deep field, would it make sense to back a favorite like McIlroy or Åberg in one and done pools this week? Or should you target a long shot like Brian Harman, Keith Mitchell, or Rickie Fowler? Before locking in your 2024 Valero Texas Open one and done picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .
The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors, signature events, and big money tournaments critical.
McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks .
McClure has been on fire with his One and Done picks in 2024. At The American Express he backed Justin Thomas, who finished in third place and took home $635,600. At the Genesis Invitational, McClure tabbed Patrick Cantlay, who finished in fourth place at the signature event, as his top OAD pick. At the Cognizant Classic, McClure's top one and done pick, Min Woo Lee, finished in a tie for second place. Finally, at the Arnold Palmer Invitation, another signature event, McClure recommended using Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris. The Result: Scheffler won the event by five strokes, and Zalatoris finished in fourth place.
His hot steak continued at the Players Championship, where McClure again recommended using Scheffler (if was still available) and Xander Schauffele. Both players were in contention until the end, with Scheffler coming out with the win and Schauffele finishing in second place. Then, at the Valspar Championship, McClure recommended using Cameron Young, who finished in second place, in OAD pools.
Now, McClure has dialed in on the Valero Texas Open golf tournament and just locked in his one and done picks and PGA predictions. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool. You can only see McClure's Valero Texas Open 2024 one and done picks at SportsLine .
Top 2024 Valero Texas Open One and Done picks
One of McClure's top OAD picks this week at TPC San Antonio is Hideki Matsuyama. The 2021 Masters champion has played well in 2024, notching an outright win at The Genesis Invitational followed by a 12th place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a sixth place finish at The Players Championship. Matsuyama enters the week with nine career PGA Tour wins.
The 32-year-old has climbed to No. 14 in the Official World Golf Ranking and is a threat to win any tournament he enters. Matsuyama enters this week ranked first on the PGA Tour in strokes gained around the green (0.674), fourth in strokes gained tee-to-green (1.360), and 15th in total strokes gained (0.981). With the Valero Texas Open field being deep and full of elite talent, McClure expects Matsuyama to be in top form. You can see who else to back at SportsLine .
How to make Valero Texas Open 2024 One and Done picks
McClure is also targeting another golfer for his 2024 Valero Texas Open one and done picks who has a long track record of success against elite competition. This former major championship winner has the ability to win any tournament he enters, and is one of the most talented golfers in this field. You can find out who it is, and check out all of McClure's Valero Texas Open one and done picks at SportsLine .
