Would definitely recommend: there were so many good sightseeing stops on route. The penguin parade exceeded our expectations and the tour made sure we were there in time for food and to get a seat before it all started

Fab tour, well organised and mapped out with so much to see and do. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable. Great experience!

Absolutely beautiful tour with an amazing guide. However, I find it a bit disappointing that the tour description offers both hand-feeding kangaroos and cuddling koalas in the Moonlit Sanctuary Park when it’s not actually on - the kangaroos depending on the weather conditions (not mentioned anywhere) and koalas due to the Victorian Rules

Rachel and Bert were awesome. I love this tour so much, recommended!

The day went very well. The guide was very friendly and gave us advice throughout the day. We saw lots of animals and scenery. The only negative points were the lunch. It was not an "Aussie style lunch" as described but actually a 10 dollar voucher for a sandwich in a cafeteria, and not all of the tour stages as described were done, but we did see the main and it was already quite enough for this long day

It was nice to see animals roaming freely.

  • MandyRog33 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Away from the crowds ... a highly memorable experience We were encouraged to go to see the penguins by some overseas visitors. We were ready to be disappointed. But, we decided on the Ultimate guided tour ... a bit more expensive, but oh, so worth it. We had night vision scopes, only 10 in the group, and the penguins came so close to us. A truly memorable experience! Read more Written 22 April 2024
  • LindaF565 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fantastic experience Fantastic experience. We chose the Penguins plus and had excellent seats. Some of the penguins came up very close. It was a little rushed at the end when were shooed out under fear of darkness (which frightened my grandchild) although the penguins were still coming. Otherwise excellent. • D1753TOcathyb 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Crowded with people rather than penguins Like many visitors, we eagerly anticipated seeing many penguins emerging in the darkness from the sea during the so-called 'Penguin Parade'. Unfortunately, we only saw less than 20 emerge from the sea, although we did see (and hear) a few more around their burrows as we walked back over the boardwalks. Some of these sightings were close up which we enjoyed. Apparently, more Little Penguins keep coming during the night. But expect to see lots of people, rather than heaps of penguins at this event. • tammyBaltimore_Md 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Hugely disappointing after long drive Did this trip over 15 years ago and it was AMAZING typically at dusk or dark you marvel in watching 100's-1,000's of penguins coming out of the ocean and making their trek up along the beach, and along a boardwalk trail, unfortunately this trip ONLY 5!! Nice visitor center with shops and eatery. Read more Written 30 March 2024

  • Bmoe 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Guided tour of the penguin parade. An absolute joy. Such a wonderful evening. We did the guided tour. We were given an ear piece and binoculars. Our guide was Graham and he was superb. Passionate about wildlife conservation and full of great information. We walked down along a boardwalk to the sea. Along the way seeing wallabies and a few baby penguins in their burrows. We had a stand with seating very close to the sea . Graham told us more info while we waiting for the first arrivals . Oh they are so cute. They waddle out of the sea in small groups and up the beach they come. We got a great view. After 20 mins we went back up to the boardwalk to see them waddling along “The penguin highway’” to their burrows. On the night we were there they counted 594 penguins coming onto the beach which was great . It varies often many more arrive. I’d say wrap up warm . They have food & drinks at the visitors centre but we got a Subway to eat on the way. No photography allowed as it frightens the penguins. They give you a link to high quality unwatered -marked photos & video. Would really recommend the Guided Tour. Read more Written 24 March 2024
  • racdean 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Appalling behaviour We attended the General Viewing.  The visitors centre,  (and of course the penguins) are 5 star but our experience was marred by inconsiderate tourists who completely disrespected the Rangers instructions. People continued to take photos when asked not to, even chasing the poor penguins with cameras (and flashes) along the boardwalk.  One lady had her  camera torch on.  More Rangers needed there People arrived late, yet barged straight to the sand ignoring the Rangers requests to sit further back.  As a result, our attention was more directed to the commotion of people standing in front of us than towards the penguins. We couldn't stand it any more and left.    We're Australian, have travelled much of the world, but this was one of the worst examples of selfish tourism I've seen. PLEASE - reduce guest numbers, increase the price, and deliver more education before letting people loose out there.  We know raising money is important but still felt sorry for the penguins. • Ruth S 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Penguins and more This was a great tour. We visited an animal sanctuary where we fed wallabies and kangaroos, while seeing lots of other animals. We then went on to some amazing views points with great views across white sands, rock formations and lots of ocean with glances of wallabies by the side of the road from the bus After a dinner stop came the highlight- the penguin parade! I paid for Penguin Plus seats which were well worth the money. The penguins were so cute as they emerged from the surf, so many at a time, and proceeded to walk and fall over as they made there way to their nests. Be aware no photos are allowed and as it is in the evening it can be very cold so wrap up warm! Our tour guide was full of fun, interesting information with a fabulous way with animals. I would definitely recommend this trip. Read more Written 17 March 2024
  • 1andrew9 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Excellent Ranger experience was worth the upgrade. If you get the general viewing you will be disappointed. All rangers were very courteous and professional and gave loads of details. Ranger viewing area was better than the general admission area by miles. Penguins are a must see if you visit the island and you should book well in advance. You see them come ashore then waddling up the beach to their nests taking breaks along the way. I can’t remember the name of our ranger but she had a white feather in the back of her hair which made it much easier to spot in the darkness especially when we joined the general public on the boardwalks. I suggest all the rangers take a similar approach. Read more Written 15 March 2024
  • SG1Lincoln40 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Fun but overcrowded Had a great time, but it is hard to see so many people in the same place while viewing wildlife. Experience - The penguin experience itself is well set up. Lots of staff members, the boardwalks are well built, and the information provided is of a high quality. However, this is really just a tourist attraction, and you start to feel sad for the wildlife. Arriving early allows you to take your time along the board walk where there was lots to see including cape baron goose, swamp wallaby and other birds. We just bought general view tickets, found a good spot down the front on the inner edge (directed by the guides to this area as the 'best spot'). In the time waiting for the sun to set the guides provided great information about the penguins and other wildlife in the area. When the sun set the penguins immediately started making their way up the beach and it was great to see them. There were strict rules reiterated over and over again that photography of any type was not allowed at any time, and yet the number of morons that simply thought the rules didn't apply to them was insane. Over and over again the rangers reminded people, both verbally and with signage in different languages but yet so many people just kept trying. The rangers remained calm which was impressive, because even I wanted to tell people to stop. Following the arrival of the penguins you can walk back along the boardwalk, and we got to see them closer up, along with eastern barred bandicoots and possums. Overall it was fun, but there were just so many people, the wildlife were still out and about, so I guess they are used to it. But its not quite the same as going for a walk in the bush to see what you can find. Restaurant - We ate dinner at the Shearwater Restaurant, and I was incredibly surprised by the quality of the food. It was expensive as you would expect from any tourist location, but I had the salmon and soba noodles and was impressed! It was a decent size, well cooked and it was nice to have a healthier option and not just deep-fried foods and burgers. Happily, recommend eating here ahead of going down to the parade ground. Even though it was booked out for the night and there were lots of people around the food came quick and was hot and fresh. Read more Written 12 March 2024
  • FarAway13078478382 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Worth the “underground” viewing upgrade Incredible experience. So glad we paid the extra for the underground viewing. Feels like we had the best of everything. After watching them, and in some casing being nose-to-nose with some cuties, after 20 mins we also got to go above and view from the premium grandstand. Our 7 & 9 yr olds LOVED the experience. #thetravelmethodau Read more Written 10 March 2024
  • CrystalT521 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles The cutest little penguins! With my husband and his mum, we enjoyed seeing the sweet little fairy penguins and we felt the rangers did their best to create a safe environment for the penguins and an educational experience for the visitors, which brings in a lot of money towards nature conservation in the area. Many visitors did not follow the rangers' requests and guidelines however and were disrespectful, which was sad to see. We still enjoyed the experience though and hopefully the penguin population there will continue to thrive! Read more Written 25 February 2024

There shouldn't be a center made by humans to profit over Mother Nature! If I knew it was such a Disneyland experience, I would have not gone! Another low for the human race! Embarrassing! • SandraM574 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Phillip Island Penguin Parade - a must do! I am a resident of Melbourne but have not been to see the Penguin Parade for many years. This was an opportunity to go with family members. I loved it! I can see why, even to this day, it is a fantastic "must do" experience. What I found the best was the most friendliest and helpful staff! The whole evening was a joy and brought much happiness. The downfall of the evening was leaving the car park to find some people bag all their trash and dump it where their car was parked :( Take it back with you and dispose of the trash properly. • ckhsu32 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointing Lack of Empathy and Sensitivity at Philip Island Penguin Parade My family and I recently visited the Philip Island Penguin Parade with high hopes of experiencing a memorable evening watching adorable penguins make their way back to shore. However, our experience was marred by a severe lack of empathy and sensitivity from the staff when we lost our son in the crowd. Despite the gravity of the situation, we were met with indifference and apathy when seeking assistance from one particular staff member. We expected to be treated with understanding and compassion, but instead encountered a staff who told us he did not care. I urge the management of the Philip Island Penguin Parade to thoroughly investigate the shortcomings outlined above and take immediate steps to address them. Every family visiting your attraction deserves to be met with professionalism, responsiveness, and empathy from those tasked with assisting them. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We hope that our feedback prompts positive changes in the way your staff interacts with visitors, especially those with young children. Read more Written 15 February 2024

Melbourne: Phillip Island Penguin Parade Ultimate Eco Full Day Tour

phillip island penguin parade ultimate eco tour

Departing Melbourne we travel first to the multi-award-winning Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the extensive exhibits, learning about a wide array of Australian fauna. Hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies and perhaps cuddle a koala (additional fee applies for "Koala Encounter").

Arriving on Phillip Island, we'll visit the spectacular Cape Woolamai Surf Beach located on the southern coast of the island. Here, the beach is exposed to the powerful ocean swell and it's not uncommon to see dolphins or seals frolicking just off shore. We then travel to the south-west tip of Phillip Island to view the Nobbies and Australia's largest Fur Seal colony at Seal Rocks.

Finally, we make our way to Summerland Beach for the highlight of the show. Watch hundreds of Little Penguins emerging from the ocean and waddling across the beach to their homes among the dunes. Explore the spectacular new Visitor Centre to learn more about our feathered friends before commencing the journey back to Melbourne.

Read more Written April 22, 2024
Read more Written March 30, 2024

Read more Written March 24, 2024
Read more Written March 17, 2024
Read more Written March 15, 2024
Read more Written March 12, 2024
#thetravelmethodau Read more Written March 10, 2024
Read more Written February 25, 2024

There shouldn't be a center made by humans to profit over Mother Nature! If I knew it was such a Disneyland experience, I would have not gone! Another low for the human race! Embarrassing! You should stop this! Read more Written February 22, 2024
Read more Written February 15, 2024

Moscow: City Sightseeing by Car/Bus

Visiting a new city is akin to going on a first date, it is something you will never forget. Many people imagine Moscow as just a bunch of sporadic landmarks: Red Square, the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum and GUM. There is so much more to this wonderful city than that and even though we only have a few hours, we will do all we can to show you everything we know and love about our capital in one fell swoop. We will take you on a journey through the ages, from centuries ago, right up to the modern day, soaking in the sights of this vast and bustling metropolis. Bright, luxurious and both ancient and modern at the same time, Moscow invites you on a date you’ll never forget!

On our sightseeing bus tour of the city, you will see:

  • The wonderfully historic city centre and its unique museums, magnificent cathedrals, the exquisite Chambers of the Romanov Boyars and of course, the famous towering red brick walls of the Kremlin, The charming beauty of the Alexander Garden awaits the capital's guests - a lush green oasis in the midst of the glass and concrete clad metropolis, basking in the etherial aura emanating from the whitewashed stone walls of the restored Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the world- renowned fairytale onion domes of St. Basil's Cathedral and other impressive monumental buildings such as the library built in Lenin's honour - the Russian State Library - and the State Duma.
  • The Lubyanka KGB headquarters is notorious to members of older generations and although nowadays, the face of the secret police has changed dramatically, the looming enigmatic building on the waterfront maintains its aura of mystery, shrouded in a variety of murky rumours and dark myths. Then, there’s another of Moscow's main attractions - the marvellous Bolshoi Theatre, yew simply cant leave Moscow without taking in its breathtaking architecture. Engrained in the fabric of Russia's cultural heritage, virtuoso performers such as prima ballerina Galina Ulanova, opera singer Feodor Chaliapin and pianist, composer and conductor Sergei Rachmaninoff once stood centre stage of this vaunted institution.
  • The memorial complex on Poklonnaya Hill was constructed in the glory and honour of our heroes who defended our nation in the many crucial battles of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This is a place that embodies a particularly acute and inextricable link between older ancf younger generations. Moving on to the Moscow International Business Centre, not dubbed ‘Moscow City' for nothing, a true glimpse of the future in the present. This incredible, rather jaw-dropping project in the capital has shown that Moscow has come to accept the age of the skyscraper. Finally, the stunning views from the observation deck at Sparrow Hills will leave professional and amateur photographers alike itching to capture them. How could one resist?

The most beautiful of all the world's cities - lady Moscow invites you out on a date!
