Swifties have shared tutorials about making friendships on social media, started selling friendship bracelets on Etsy, and posted videos of wearing and trading their bracelets at the Eras Tour. 

After all, Swift’s football beau, Travis Kelce, revealed on his podcast “New Heights” that he tried to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number before one of her concerts at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he admitted at the time. So you could say that a friendship bracelet kicked off their "love story."

In this video I'll be showing you how to make 10 friendship bracelets inspired by Taylor Swift albums!

I saw this trend on TikTok where people were making friendship bracelets for the eras tour and I thought it looked like fun (and lets be real, I have way too many beads 😅)

Sadly I wasn't able to get tickets, but I've been having fun watching the livestreams people have been doing!

I turned this video into 10 "shorts" for Instagram , TikTok , and YouTube - if you prefer to watch that way I've embedded them below!

For the main part of this bracelet, I used 0.5 mm stretch cord and some 3 mm seed beads.

I sealed the knot with some UV Resin , cured it under my UV Lamp , then used jewelry pliers and a jump ring to attach an acrylic butterfly charm .

I kept this bracelet super simple with some 0.5 mm stretch cord , some metallic star beads , some 3 mm seed beads , and some 4 mm pearl beads .

I sealed the knot on all of the bracelets made with this stretch cord with some UV Resin and cured it under my UV Lamp .

(Side note - I hate YouTube Shorts so much. WHY WON'T THEY LET ME PICK MY OWN THUMBNAIL?!?! 😩 Apparently you can on Android but I'm way too deep in to the Apple ecosystem for that lol)

The Speak Now bracelet was really special, because I finally found a use for these charms from an old Taylor Swift perfume that I accidentally broke about 10 years ago. Honestly I'm kind of impressed that I knew where they were 😅

I used a 1 step looper tool , some 20 gauge wire , and some purple beads to create the base. I used pliers to attach the loops, and made the closure using gold chain , jump rings , and a lobster clasp .

The Red bracelet had a few more steps involved - I'd highly recommend watching the YouTube video before you make this one!

This one was a Pura Vida Style bracelet made with waxed cotton cord . I made the charm using a silver heart bead , a red faceted gem bead , and some 22 gauge wire .

The 1989 bracelet was super easy. I just strung some white butterfly beads , blue faceted gem beads , purple faceted gem beads , and some silver balls on to some 0.5 mm stretch cord .

I sealed the knot with UV Resin , cured it under my UV lamp , and that was it!

I made the Reputation bracelet a little bit differently. This bracelet sort of reminds me of the Martha Calvo style jewelry that was popular a few years ago.

For this one, I used some 26 gauge wire for the base, and strung on a mixture of assorted black and white beads . I added a piece of silver chain from an old broken necklace, and used magnetic clasps on either end to create the closure.

The Lover bracelet was another simple one. I used more of that 0.5 mm stretch cord to combine some of these aesthetic heart beads with some glass beads that my aunt gave me. I sealed the knot with some UV Resin , sured it under my lamp , and that was it!

I think the Folklore bracelet was my favorite. This was inspired by Taylor Swift's Folklore cardigan.

I just strung some 3mm seed beads and some silver star beads on to a piece of 0.5 mm stretch cord , and sealed the knot with UV Resin .

Next is Evermore . I like this album, don’t get me wrong, but there isn’t really anything about the “aesthetic” of it that really stood out to me. So I just combined a bunch of orange and gray beads to match the album cover.

And finally we have Midnights ! I’ve always been a big fan of the whole galaxy/star motif, so I had no trouble finding beads for this one.

This is my favorite album Taylor Swift has released in a while - I think my all time favorite will always be Red though!

Trading of friendship bracelets is easily my favorite tradition created for the Eras Tour . Before Swifties flocked to stadiums all across the country this summer, many took the time to make Eras-specific friendship bracelets to exchange with fellow fans. As someone who partook in this experience at the concert, I can confirm it was a blast, and it’s such a meaningful way to connect with fellow Taylor Swift fans. Now, this experience is carrying over to the Eras Tour concert film , which hits theaters on October 13, and I have some ideas for you!

As someone who has made tons of bracelets for both the concert, and now the film, I’ve compiled a list of friendship bracelet ideas that should cover all your creative bases as you prepare to experience the Eras Tour and all those surprise songs on the big screen. 

Movie Specific Bracelets 

While there is a lot of overlap when it comes to bracelets you can make for both the live show and the movie, there is a select list of options that only apply to seeing Taylor Swift ’s concert in theaters. With that in mind, here are a few ideas for this special cinematic experience on the 2023 movie schedule : 

• In My AMC Era – Obviously, this can be tweaked to reflect whatever theater you are going to. 
• “I think I’ve seen this film before” – This lyric from “Exile” is perfect for the movie. 
• “ This scene feels like what I once saw on a screen ”  – A perfect lyric from “Snow On The Beach.” 
• “The greatest films of all time were never made” – “The 1” has a great film-related lyric. 
• “I hit the Sunday matinee” – Another fabulous lyric from “The 1.” 
• “If This Was A Movie” – A great song from Fearless (Taylor’s Version).  
• Self-Titled – The way they refer to Taylor Swift in the Eras Tour movie trailer . You'll also notice the last E in the photo is an F, because I ran out of the vowel...more on that later.
• 2 hr. 45 min. – the runtime of the concert film, which is shorter than the actual live show, and Swifties made sure everyone knew that.  

The Basics: Albums, Songs, Lyrics & More 

When I went to the Eras Tour this summer, the bracelets I made really leaned into the basics. I did the albums and my favorite tracks, and it was so much fun exchanging them and finding out which Eras were the Swifties’ favorites. Here are a few ideas that will cover your basic Taylor Swift terms:

• Obviously, you have to make bracelets for each album: Debut, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights.  
• Pro tip: if you don’t have numbers, you can do a make-shift 1989 with the letters “ I-P-B-P ” 
• The Eras Tour  
• Taylors’ Version  
• Use the hits: “Love Story,” “Anti-Hero,” “Bejeweled,” “All Too Well,” “Cruel Summer,” “Long Live,” “Enchanted,” LWYMMD (“Look What You Made Me Do”), “Delicate,” “Willow”  
• “August” “Betty” and “Cardigan” – the Folklore trilogy 
• Make two bracelets, one with Miss Americana and another with The Heartbreak Prince . 
• “I’m the problem” – a lyric from “Anti-Hero” 
• Your Dream Surprise Songs: Mine would be “ Getaway Car ” and “ Right Where You Left Me.”  
• Or if you went to the Eras Tour, do the surprise songs you got – mine were “Picture to Burn” and “Timeless.”  

Unhinged Ideas

Personally, my favorite bracelets are the unhinged ones. What I mean by this is, these are the sayings that are deep cuts and really funny. Whether they’re misheard lyrics, TikTok comments, or viral moments, there are lots of fun chaotic bracelets you can make. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve made, and found on TikTok through videos by eliza_flynn27 and createdbya1 .  

• Ratatatatata – You know, that noise from “I Did Something Bad.” 
• “ Starbucks Lovers ” – The commonly misheard lyric from “Black Space.” 
• “ He looks so pretty like a devil ” – Another, commonly misheard lyric, this one is from “Cruel Summer.”  
• “ Hey! Stop! ” – Swift yelled this at a security guard during the middle of a performance of “Bad Blood” while defending a fan. 
• “Swift AF Boi” – What Swift commented on a TikTok someone posted of her bolting down the stage after a minor malfunction. 
• T-Swizzle  
• “Cuz She’s Dead.” – The end of the phone call in “Look What You Made Me Do.” 
• “Spelling is Fun” – A line from “ME!” 
• Seemingly Ranch – Why not give a little hilarious nod to that wild weekend where Taylor Swift went to a Kansas City Chiefs game to see her (maybe) boyfriend Travis Kelce play? 

Super Swiftie Deep Cuts 

This list is for my Swifties who clowned their hearts out over the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) release date, and have been tracking the theories around the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) . These ideas are for those of us who watch live streams of the Eras Tour on TikTok, and have been fans for over a decade. These are some deep cuts, and if you trade with someone, and they get a good laugh out of these, you’ll know you found a very serious Swiftie like yourself. 

• “1,2,3…Let’s go bitch” – Classic etiquette of the Eras Tour . 
• No It’s Becky – In reference to the A+ Tumblr meme from 2014. 
• “I Have A New Baby At Home” – Swift said this while on The Graham Norton Show . 
• “My Mind is Alive” – What Taylor Swift said after having laser eye surgery, she told the story on The Tonight Show . 
• “In My Monologue”  – What Swift sang during her SNL monologue in 2013 . 
• “Get Out Of My House” – What she screamed while filming “Look What You Made Me Do.”

No E's Required

I’m going to be so real with you, you are going to run out of the letter E super fast. I did. Remember, the vowels go quickly, so use them sparingly, especially those E’s. So, with that in mind, here are some Taylor Swift-specific bracelet ideas that do not require the second vowel in the alphabet.

DIY Taylor Swift Eras Tour Friendship Bracelets

The Bracelets

Taylor said to “make the friendship bracelets,” so we did!

Making and exchanging friendship bracelets at the Eras Tour is a super fun fan project.

Of course, I couldn’t go to the concert without my own friendship bracelets and had to make some.

Here’s how I did it!

Bracelet Tutorial

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

All you need to get started are beads, string, a beading needle, and scissors!

I’ll link what I used below, but there are so many options that you could customize your bracelets a million ways!

I ordered a big set of seed beads from Amazon (linked below). You wouldn’t need a set this big, but it was fun having lots of colors to work with!

The tiny seed beads are so pretty and dainty! But their size makes them a little harder to work with. Pick some bigger beads if you want something easier or more kid-friendly.

I also wanted some letter beads to spell things out. The seed bead set came with some, but I ordered two more bags and a bag of numbers (linked below).

The letter beads ended up being the rate-limiting factor in this project! I had a lot of letters left, but I used all the “E” beads. In the end, I had enough letter beads to make 27 bracelets. I thought that was enough and wrapped up the project.

The kit also came with cute gold star and gold square beads. I used those between words. It came with charms, and I used the four-leaf clover charm on my “13” bracelet.

The bracelet kit came with some stretchy, clear string. I ordered another spool of the same stuff (linked below).

After making 27 bracelets, I was almost out.

Beading Needle

If you use the tiny seed beads, you’ll definitely want a beading needle.

The bead spinner I ordered came with one, but the eye was too big for the seed beads to pass over.

I used big eye beading needles. I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but I’ll link something similar below!

Bead Spinner

I’ve seen videos of people using bead spinners on TikTok, and they always look like so much fun! So I ordered one on Amazon for this project (linked below).

The bead spinner  was  fun, but you could do the project without one. The spinner makes the process faster, but I actually made most of the bracelets by hand.

The bead spinner needs to be pretty full to work, so I didn’t use the spinner when I was making bracelets with just one color or just a few colors.

I did get the hang of the spinner, but it takes some practice!

Tips for using a bead spinner:

• Make sure the bowl is about 2/3 full of beads.
• Bend the head of your needle a little and hold it at the top of the beads perpendicular to the spinner.
• Don’t stab too far into the bowl with your needle because you will stop the spinner or pop beads into your face and all over your house.
• Don’t spin the bowl too fast.

It might be easier to use with bigger beads.

Step 2: Make Your Bracelets

I found making these bracelets fun and relaxing! I was sad when it was time for the concert, and I packed up the project!

First, I planned out what I wanted my bracelet to say. Then, I’d line the letters up in the right direction and tape them down. Taping the letters helped me to spell the words right and get the letter beads strung on right (don’t look at my Nashville bracelet with its backward “L”).

Second, I’d cut out enough string to make a bracelet leaving extra to tie. I left my string doubled because the little beads would slide on but didn’t fall off the end that way.

I made my bracelets in different sizes for trading, but if you want to make them uniform, cut a string the size of your wrist and keep it for reference.

Third, I’d thread my needle. You hold both ends of the needle and push them toward each other to use the big eye beading needles. This action opens up the center of the needle, and you can pull your string through.

Next, I’d pick out my beads. If I used one color, I’d put them on the table and use the needle to pick them up. If I wanted to do a multi-color bracelet, I’d use the spinner.

Last, I tied the bracelets. It holds well if you make a knot and pull hard on the stretchy string. I tied three knots in each bracelet. I was worried they wouldn’t hold, but they’re still intact so far!

• favorite song names: Cornelia St., Enchanted, Mirrorball, Bejeweled, Maroon, Miss Americana
• night specific bracelets: TS 5.7.23, Nashville 5.7.23
• for my husband: Swiftie Husband, King of her Heart, The Heartbreak Prince (I had a matching Miss Americana.), I heart TS

Other Tips for Attending the Eras Tour

Y’all, the concert did not disappoint! The show was amazing, and the night was sparkling !

And we attended the now-infamous Nashville night three rain show with a four-hour lightning delay. Even with the delay, it was a blast!

So what are my top tips for the concert?

First, wear comfortable shoes! Taylor’s set alone is over 3 hours long, and stadiums require a lot of walking. You don’t want to have to give up any dance time because of sore feet!

Second, pack a poncho! We bought ponchos on the way to Nashville just in case it rained, and we would have been miserable without them! I wish I’d ordered a clear one that wouldn’t have hidden my Eras outfit!

Next, check your stadium’s bag rules. You may need a clear bag.

If you bought VIP tickets, bring the lanyard from your VIP box. It lights up with the show!

Last, remember your sparkles!

Oh, and of course, bring your friendship bracelets.

Follow this easy friendship bracelet tutorial to make Taylor Swift bracelets. We have over 250 Taylor Swift bracelet ideas inspired by your favorite songs and albums. Plus, learn the best method for how to tie a friendship bracelet so it won't come undone!

When I heard that people were making Taylor Swift friendship bracelets to trade with other Swifties at the ERAS tour, I had to get in on it.

The tradition was started based on the song "You're On Your Own, Kid," which includes the line "So  make   the   friendship   bracelets ."

It was even more fun to make the friendship bracelets than I thought.

How to Make Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelets

• Seed Beads (From Walmart)
• Elastic Cord
• Alphabet Beads
• E6000 Adhesive   (optional)
• Felt (optional)

• Pick out beads and create color schemes that match the song or album that will inspire your Taylor Swift friendship bracelets. (I have over 250 ideas for words or phrases to put on bracelets below.)
• Next, find the letter beads needed to spell out song titles, lyrics, or phrases.
• Lay out a piece of felt to put your beads on , it will help them to stay put rather than roll off of the table.

• Measure your wrist and add 2 or 3 inches to each side of the length. Pre-stretch and cut the elastic cord .
• Tie a double knot on one end of the elastic cord and add beads.

• Tie a strong triple knot after adding beads and phrases, to secure the bracelet.
• Brush a little bit of E600 glue on each side of the knot. Allow the glue to dry before putting the bracelet on your wrist. This strong glue will keep the knot from coming undone.
• Snip the tails off of the extra elastic cord after you have checked the knot is secure.

Above is a photo of the back of my bracelets, you can not see the knots. I wore these bracelets for multiple days and these are very sturdy once they are knotted and glued!

• Pre-stretch the elastic cord before you begin beading. Holding one end of the cord and pull it between your thumb and forefinger of your other hand, to gently stretch it. Repeat this three or four times. This ensures the cord will not stretch and lengthen after you have beaded the bracelet.
• It's good to have some extra string space for the bracelet, you don't want to make it too tight.
• Make bracelets to fit many wrist sizes if making friendship bracelets to trade at the ERAS tour. As with any group of people, Swifties come in all shapes and sizes!
• Make some friendship bracelets that you know kids and tweens will like , and those you can make smaller in size.
• Similarly, make some that will fit larger wrists. Everyone should be able to take part in bracelet trading!

• Pick out beads in color schemes that match the song or album that will inspire your Taylor Swift friendship bracelets.
• Measure your wrist and add 2 or 3 inches to each side of the length. *SEE NOTES
• Cut the elastic and pre-stretch it.
• After adding beads and phrases, tie a strong triple knot to secure the bracelet.
• Brush a little bit of E600 adhesive on each side of the knot. Allow the glue to dry. This strong glue is very important, this is what will keep your knot from coming undone!
• Pre-stretch the elastic cord before you begin beading. Holding one end of the cord and pull it between your thumb and forefinger of your other hand, to gently stretch it. Repeat this three or four times. This ensures the cord will not stretch and lengthen after you have beaded the bracelet. 
• Remember that most of the time it's good to have some extra space for the bracelet, you don't want to make it too tight.
