Holiday House Tour features grandly decorated Concord homes
The Guild of Volunteers at the Concord Museum presents the 13th Annual Holiday House Tour on Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 2023 tour will showcase six remarkable Concord homes. From a grand, elegant estate on a sprawling 10-acre property to a midcentury-modern home that’s a masterpiece of design, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Each home has its own story and appeal, making the tour a journey through time and style. Professionally decorated for the season, these beautiful homes will fill you with the spirit of the holidays.
The Guild of Volunteers organizes the annual event as a benefit for the museum’s education initiatives. Holiday House Tour ticket sales directly benefit this educational programming.
Each year, the Concord Museum welcomes 12,000 schoolchildren for programs designed to make learning memorable. Trained educators engage students of all learning styles while satisfying important curriculum standards. Historical detective work and role playing are combined with problem solving, tactile learning, and critical thinking so students of all ages have fun and come away with a real sense of history.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.concordmuseum.org; at the Museum; or by phone at 978-369-9763 through December 2. Ticketholders will receive an email with details and pick-up times before the event.

Historic Concord homes light up for walking tour
Historic Concord home (Courtesy Colorful Lights Walking Tour)
CONCORD, N.C. — Nearly 80 historic homes in downtown Concord will glow each weekend in September for the Colorful Lights Walking Tour.
Starting Sept. 1, homes along a 4+ mile path will be colorfully lit from 7 to 10 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There is no cost for the tour, and an interactive guide will be available via QR code printed on yard signs displayed in front of each participating home. Walkers can scan the QR code with their smartphone cameras for access to a GPS map of the tour and a curated interactive guide displaying the history of each participating house.
“The tour is a wonderful way for people to learn about all of historic Concord,” Colorful Lights Committee Chair Jamie Sanderbeck said in a news release. “The event celebrates not only the history of Concord but strengthens community bonds through a visual display of togetherness.”
The walking tour is a biannual tradition that was launched during the pandemic as a way for people to get outside and enjoy the neighborhoods of historic Concord. This year, the tour has expanded to include homes located on several side streets off Union Street.

Historic Concord holiday home tour You can tour 10 historic homes and a few churches fully decorated for Christmas
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Take a step into historic Concord for some holiday fun!
You can tour 10 historic homes and a few churches fully decorated for Christmas and here to tell us how we can check out the houses is Randy Hopkins, President of Residents of Historic Concord .
The tour includes the northernmost (John Mitchell Odell House) and the southern-most house (Franklin C. Niblock House).
This is the largest home tour yet with 10 homes, two churches and a business. It’s also the first time it is a two-day event that includes a candlelight version (Saturday 4-8pm). The first Holiday Home tour was in 1984 and was sponsored by the Concord Garden Council. RHC was formed in 1988 so the first one hosted by RHC (Residents of Historic Concord) is noted to be in 1992. So here we are over 30 years later and already looking to have the largest attendance yet!
