November 9, 2023

costa cruise mumbai

Costa Cruises is celebrating as the Costa Serena begins operating its newly created India cruise program from Mumbai.

The program will operate from Nov. 4, 2023 to Jan. 11, 2024 and the Costa Serena will sail two-, three-, and five-day itineraries, with calls in Mumbai, Kochi, Goa and the island of Agatti in Lakshadweep.

A special event in Mumbai to mark the milestone in the 75-year anniversary of Costa was attended by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, along with Francesco Raffa, Director Asia Region & Growth Markets, Costa Cruises; Nalini Gupta, Lotus Aero Enterprises, GSA of Costa Cruises; and other senior officials.

On board Costa Serena, guests will enjoy a wide range of international-style experiences, enriched with the Italian warm hospitality that has characterized Costa for 75 years. A local touch also will be featured: culinary and entertainment will be tailored to the tastes of Indian guests.

The last itinerary celebrating the completion of Costa Serena’s India program also will explore the spectacular Maldives in the Indian Ocean.

Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports stated: “We are offering our full support to the cruise line to homeport their ships at Indian ports. We are ready to support further development of our port infrastructure to accommodate large cruise ships. It is a moment of pride for us that when the Mumbai Port completes 150 years, we have Costa coming back to offer domestic cruising options to Indian travellers.”

Francesco Raffa, Director Asia Region & Growth Markets, Costa Cruises, said: “We are extremely happy to sail again in India where we’ve been operating since 2016. We are bringing to our Indian guests our authentic Italian hospitality with a local personalization in terms of food and entertainment. India is an important market for Costa, both for our established Fly&Cruise programs to Dubai and the Mediterranean, and for our newly introduced local operations sailing domestically. We are grateful to the Indian government for the efforts to support the domestic tourism and on infrastructures development. India is working to develop the cruise industry and we are excited to sail together towards the vision of the Indian government.”

Nalini Gupta of Lotus Aero Enterprises added: “I am happy that Costa is back to the Indian shores with dedicated domestic itineraries. We are looking forward to a great season ahead. With Costa there will be the opportunity of easily accessible cruises with just their Aadhaar card. It will give Indian guests the opportunity to discover the country’s most beautiful locations from a unique point of view. Indians will be able to easily access an experience of vacationing right from home without the hassle of visas or flights, while still getting that international holiday experience with the Indian touch.”

Costa Serena has a total of 1,500 cabins, 505 of which have private balconies, and 14 passenger decks. To make the most of their cruise on board, guests can choose from a wellness centre and a gym with a sea view, a beauty salon, a theatre, restaurants serving Indian and international cuisine, bars, four swimming pools, two of which have a self-propelled glass roofs, a shopping area, and a kids’ club for children and teenagers.

Mumbai cruise port

Region Asia

Local Time 2024-04-27 18:11

Port Mumbai cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Mumbai, Bombay, India. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link.

Mumbai (aka Bombay) is a major Indian Ocean port and capital city of India's Maharashtra state (country's second-most populous and the world's 9th most populous). The city has urban population around 12,5 million (metro 18,5+ million).

Mumbai City is located on India's west coast and features a deepwater natural harbor. The city is also the country's wealthiest and is currently ranked the world's 37th by metro GDP. Mumbai also has India's highest number of millionaires and billionaires. The city is India's commercial, financial and entertainment capital, and among the world's top 10 in terms of financial flow (generates over 6% of India's GDP), accounting for 25% of India's industrial output, 70% of its maritime shipping trade and 70% of all capital transactions.

During British Raj (British India period 1858-1947), most of the buildings were constructed in Gothic Revival style - with Dutch roofs, German gables, Swiss facade timbering, casements, arches, plus traditional for India elements.

Approx 280 km (170 mi) to the north of Mumbai (direct/sea distance) is located the Alang Shipbreaking Yard , where are dismantled and recycled over 50% of the world's retired marine vessels.

Port Mumbai

Mumbai City is served by two main seaports - Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT). The Port (locode INBOM) features one of the world's best natural harbors, as well as extensive wetdock and drydock facilities.

Commissioned on May 26, 1989, Jawaharlal Nehru Port is India's busiest seaport. It handles around 60% of the country's total containerized cargo.

Ferries  (leaving from Ferry Wharf, Mazagaon) link the city with all neighbouring islands. Port Mumbai has also an important naval base (to the southeast of the city). In-port water transportation is via hovercrafts, catamarans and ferries. Services are regularly scheduled and provided via both government and private companies. Since December 2018, the ports Mumbai and Mormugao are linked via regularly scheduled cruiseferry line.

Port Mumbai serves major cruise ship companies , including  P&O ,  Crystal ,  Costa ,  Holland America . To attract major international brands, in 2016, Mumbai Port Trust started offering cruise ship concessions, including cancellation of ousting charges (when the port had to move berthed cargo vessel) and a berth / docking certainty. Before 2016, cargo vessels were given preference over cruise liners, and the ship's operator had to book berthing 6 months in advance.

Until 2008, Port Mumbai had numerous cruise ship calls annually, but its high taxes forced most shipowners / operators to shift to Singapore . For season 2014-2015, the cruise port had scheduled a total of 37 ship calls (at Ballard Pier). During season 2015-2016 were handled 59 ship calls. Of those, 44 were visiting Mumbai as call port, the other 15 ‘were roundtrips. For season 2016-2017, the cruise port handled 55 ship calls with ~60,000 passengers.

On February 17, 2018, India's Prime Minister inaugurated Fourth Container Terminal (FCT), which is managed by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust. The new containership terminal nearly doubled the port's TEU capacity. After completion of the construction project's Phase 2 (in 2022), the port's annual capacity will be 5 times bigger (100 lakh containers annually). FCT is managed under a 30-year concession deal. Construction works started in October 2015.

The new terminal has India's deepest berths allowing docking of the world's largest boxships . The facility has total quay length of 1 km. Its gantry cranes reach 22 rows wide or greater. The terminal's handling capacity is 3 boxships simultaneously. The new terminal is linked to a dedicated railroad freight corridor with capacity ~350 TEU-containers per rake. Its rail facilities are the country's largest, with capacity to handle 1,5 km (1 mi) long container trains. There is also a storage facility for 1600 reefers (refrigerated containers) used for the shipping of agricultural and horticulture produce.

In 2018, APM Terminals Mumbai (2006-commissioned, aka "Gateway Terminals India"/GTI) became India's first container terminal to handle over 2 million TEUs in a calendar year. In 2019, APM Mumbai again reported 2+ million handled TEUs. GTI is a joint venture between APM Terminals and CONCOR/Container Corporation of India. The facility has total berth length 712 m (2336 ft), yard area 128 acres (52 hectares), modern equipment (10x quay cranes, 40x RTGs/rubber-tired gantry cranes, 3x RMGs/rail-mounted cranes).

In the period November 2019 through February 2020, in Mumbay was homeported the operated by  Costa Cruises  (shipowner Carnival Corporation ) ship Costa Victoria . In season 2019-2020, the liner had scheduled a total of 259 port calls (booked berthings) in Mumbai Port (compared to only 40 in season 2015-2016).

Among India's 5 main cruise ports ( Chennai ,  Goa ,  Cochin ,  Mangalore , Mumbai) that receive foreign passenger ships, Mumbai receives the biggest number of port calls. To handle the growing traffic, the old passenger terminal building was replaced by a new cruise terminal that is 10 times bigger than the old one.

On May 18, 2021, SPACEVPL ( SP Armada Clean Energy Ventures Pvt Ltd) signed with Mumbai Port Trust a 30-year license agreement to operate and maintain (till 2051) an FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) in Mumbai Harbour.

  • SPACEVPL's shareholders are Shapoorji Pallonji Oil and Gas Pvt Ltd (51%) and Bumi Armada Netherlands BV (49%, subsidiary of Bumi Armada Berhad Malaysia).
  • SPACEVPL's FSRU is the 6th commissioned LNG terminal on India's west coast (together with Gujarat's Dahej and Hazira, and Kerala's Kochi) and the 3rd in Maharashtra (together with Dabhol and Jaigarh).

In February 2022,  APM Terminals Mumbai announce an investment og USD 115 million in port infrastructure developments to increase the capacity by ~10% (up to 2,18 million TEUs). The project included purchasing 6x StS cranes (Ship-to-Shore) and 3x RMG cranes (Rail-Mounted Gantry).

Mumbai cruise terminal

Mumbai Harbour's new cruise ship terminal (Mumbai International Cruise Terminal) is in the city's west end and in the Ulhas River estuary's southern part. The facility is at close proximity to major city highlights but it is recommended to use transport, and not to walk the distance. Taxis are not available at the terminal. There is a rank ten minutes away, within walking distance.

Mumbai's cruise port handled a total of 27,827 tourists/passengers during season 2012-13, via 41 ship calls. The city's international airport is approx 14 km (9 mi) away from the cruise terminal.

Mumbai Cruise Terminal is at Ballard Pier. The building has check-in, luggage handling facilities, duty-free shops, passenger lounge (waiting hall), souvenir stalls (selling handicrafts). From the ferry wharf (on berth 3) are offered cruise tours to Elephanta Island (in Mumbai Harbour) and the beaches located across.

By Mumbai Harbour's cruise port development plan was upgraded the existing passenger terminal and a new building (10 times larger) was constructed. The new terminal has Convention Center, Shopping Mall, Conference Hall, premium Yacht Marina (boat mooring facility).

(NEW) Mumbai Port Cruise Terminal

To make the city a gateway to India's international cruising tourism, Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) invested into the construction of a new/larger passenger terminal, with modern-design facilities and amenities, such as escalators, restaurants, shops, etc - similar (and better) to those that are standard for the modern airport terminals.

Construction works at Ballard Pier officially started on January 11, 2018. MbPT handles the terminal's modernization and expansion project, budgeted at INR (₨/rupee) 197 million (USD 31 million). The project was 2-phased, with scheduled completion in 2019-Q4 (by December). Replacing the existing facility, the new terminal (at BPX-Indira Dock) has annual capacity of ~700,000 passengers.

In May 2018,  Port Amsterdam announced plans to bid for the new terminal by partnering with the local company JM Baxi & Co. Under the contract will be constructed terminal's overall structure.

Due to the COVID crisis, the terminal's construction was delayed and is currently scheduled for commissioning/inauguration in July 2024.

Due to design changes/expansion, the project's cost doubled - to INR (₨/rupee) 495 (USD 65,135416 million), of which Rs 303 (US$39,870770M) was incurred by Mumbai Port Authority, and the remaining by private companies/ship operators.

The new cruise terminal can handle annually ~200 ships and has capacity to berth/dock two ships simultaneously. The interior design features 10 escalators, 22 elevators, a multi-storied car parking (capacity 300 vehicles).

  • Gateway of India: the most popular monument in Mumbai. The Gateway of India dates from 1924 and commemorates the King George V and Queen Mary visit. The monument is a British Raj era symbol. Located in walking distance from Mumbai cruise terminal, opposite of the Tower Hotel and Taj Palace.

Highlights of the Costa Cruise Journey

Going on a Costa cruise holiday is always very exciting. The excitement multiplies when you get to have your cruise holiday on an internationally-famous cruise ship that has sailed global waters and offered world-class cruise holidays to thousands of tourists. This is the very first time that such an experience has been bright to India. The Costa Serena ship is an Italian cruise ship that has been touted as one of the largest and most beautiful cruise ships in the world. It is being deployed to the Indian waters for the winter. Take this opportunity and go on a holiday like never before.

A big highlight of the Costa Cruise tour packages is that it combines the wonders of the West with the flavours of the East. While on the one hand, you get to experience the wonderful, globally approved standards and facilities on board, you also get to savour the Indian culture and hospitality. The food menu has been carefully curated keeping the Indian sensibility in mind. The entertainment packages are more attuned to the Indian tastes and the staff communicate in Hindi, making it easy for the local tourists to enjoy the cruise.

  • Costa Cruise with starting price: As mentioned above, the Costa Cruise ticket price has many determining factors. For example, if you choose to stay in a premium cabin with an ocean-view balcony, the price will be higher as compared to a standard internal cabin. Also, you can choose packages for the family, based on how many children you have and who all are travelling with you.
  • Costa Cruise packages online booking with Thomas Cook:  The exclusive opportunity to sail on board the luxurious and grand Costa Serena is brought closer to you by Thomas Cook. You can easily make a booking by visiting the official website of Thomas Cook. The Costa Cruise ticket price will depend on various factors such as the type of room you choose, the destination you choose, the type of package you choose and so on. Head over to Thomas Cook’s portal and start exploring your options till you find the best Costa cruise india tour package for your holiday.
  • Pack your favourites: It is your holiday and no one should hold you back from enjoying it in a way that makes you happy! And if wearing your favourite clothes, shoes and accessories makes you happy,m go right ahead and pack all your favourites. From the little black dress to the peep-toed wedges, from the polka-dotted hat to the dangling silver earrings, don't leave out your favourites when you pack for something as enjoyable as a world-class cruise holiday.
  • Pack beachwear:  The current Costa Cruise destinations include Mumbai, Goa and the Maldives . All of these places are known for their beaches, so don't forget to pack beachwear before you leave for the cruise. You will also have a beautiful swimming pool on board where you can enjoy in a smart ‘n' sexy bathing suit. Along with your bathing suit, also pack some cover-up apparel such as sarongs and robes as they come in handy immediately after a swim.
  • Pack formals:  Always carry some good formal attire on a cruise trip. This is because there are some formal dining events at the cruises. Also, if you go to the casino or other such designated areas of the ship, you cannot walk in shorts and tees! For ladies, a classy cocktail dress, gown or even formal Indian wear is accepted. For gents, carrying a formal shirt, tie and coat would be a great idea.
  • Carry a hat:  You would benefit by carrying a hat on the cruise. You will spend a lot of time by the pool or on the deck. It is sunny during the daytime and so having the hat proves to be handy. Also, the hat can be an extremely fashionable accessory so having it on you can increase your style quotient by quite a bit!
  • Carry multiple shoes:  There are multiple areas to explore on the Costa ships and multiple activities to engage in. it would be a lot of fun for you to dress up for each. Carry multiple shoes, such as flip flops for the poolside, casual sandals for the breakfast buffet, party shoes for the disco and a formal pair for formal events. Don't let go of an opportunity to dress up and have fun when you are on board the Costa ships.
  • Carry all your essential healthcare needs:  From your regular medication to the all-important motion sickness control pills, don't forget to pack all the essential healthcare items. You can also carry some small first-aid items such as band-aids, antiseptic creams, and so on.
  • Pack some warm clothes:  You may feel a bit chilly in some areas of the ship, especially when you stay indoors in the AC environment for hours together. You may also experience a slight nip in the air after sunset while sitting on the deck due to the cool sea breeze. Be prepared for the weather by carrying a light jacket or sweater with you.
  • Pack the correct toiletries:  You need to carry some essential toiletries such as sunscreen lotion and a frizz control hair conditioner. The bathroom in your cabin will have the basic toiletries but you may not have the essentials, so carry them with you.
  • Carry an underwater camera:  The Costa Cruise Mumbai to Maldives route takes you to the magical island of the Maldives. You can engage in many interesting activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling here. For this, carry an underwater camera and capture all the special moments easily.
  • Carry a power bank:  You will be out of your cabin for most part of the day, owing to the many activities and events lined up on the cruise. You will also want to click many photos and videos all day long. This may discharge your phone battery quickly, so carry a power bank in your purse.
  • Carry cash for tips:  While Costa Cruises' all-inclusive package does include most of the expenses, it is expected that you tip on board. Tip the waiters serving you in the dining halls, tip the concierge carrying your luggage and tip the people looking after your kids in the play area. For this, carry some cash with you and keep them handy whenever you may need to pay some tips.

As you can see, these are all very basic items, but they are things that will help you to have a smooth and comfortable cruise holiday abroad on the Costa Cruise India ship. This may be the first time you are going for a cruise holiday of a global standard, so make sure you are well-prepared at every step.

Important Tips for Your Cruise Experience

Going on one of the Costa Cruise tours can be absolutely thrilling. To make your experience all the more unforgettable, we have some great tips for you:

  • Book through a trusted platform: Whether you want to opt for the Costa Cruise Mumbai to Lakshadweep holiday or you want to book the Costa Cruise Mumbai to Goa holiday, you need to do it through a very trusted platform like  Thomas Cook  and safely book your Costa cruise holiday.
  • Travel with your loved ones:  It is a great idea for you to travel with your loved ones when going on a cruise. Costa Cruise is large and has many people, so you may feel a bit upset if you don't have some of your own folks with you. Go with your family or ask your group of friends to join you. Travelling with your near and dear ones can be of great advantage on a cruise.
  • Plan it out:  The Costa Serena ship is a huge ship with many attractions and activities. In a short cruise trip, you may not be able to experience all the nooks and corners of the ship. Therefore, before you leave, do your research and find out about the interesting activities and events happening on the cruise. Make a list of what you want to attend/do and what you want to pass. Planning it out in advance proves to be very beneficial.
  • Be prepared for storms:  Though the Costa Cruise lines are very well-equipped to handle bad weather, a sea storm may intimidate you, especially if you are sailing for the very first time. If you happen to find yourself in the middle of a sea storm, stay calm and follow the instructions of the staff members. If you experience motion sickness, return to your room, pop a pill and just relax. The storm and the nausea will both subside soon.
  • Research the destination:  It is very important for you to research the destination. If you book a Costa Cruise Mumbai to Maldives holiday, learn more about the Maldives, what you can do there, the local food, shopping facilities, etc. You may not have ample time to discover the destination when you are out on a shore visit, so do your homework and maximise the shore time by knowing exactly what to do.
  • Choose the entertainment well:  You will have a plethora of options when choosing entertainment activities. Pay heed to your interests, the people you are travelling with, etc and then select the perfect set of entertainment activities to try out on the ship. It may not be possible for you to experience it all, so choose what interests you the most.

Follow these simple tips and you will have an enhanced experience on your cruise holiday. The Costa Cruise ships offer the very best cruise experiences so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy!

Bulbul Dhawan , Skift

April 24th, 2024 at 11:00 PM EDT

The Skift India Newsletter is your go-to platform for all news related to travel, tourism, airlines, and hospitality in India.

India recorded a cruise tourism footfall of 470,000 in the 2023-24 financial year – its highest ever. Domestic tourists accounted for nearly 80% of this, as international cruise tourism in India has yet to revive to pre-Covid levels.

In 2019-20, the international and domestic tourists were roughly equal out of the 420,000 cruise passengers.

Popularity of cruise tourism in India: While efforts are on to revive international tourism in the segment, there is an increase in popularity of cruises among domestic tourists. Compared to 2019-20, domestic tourists have increased by nearly 85%. Indian tourists are also key for the cruise industry in countries such as Singapore, while Abu Dhabi is also seeking to attract Indian tourists to its cruise offerings.

India’s efforts to boost cruise tourism: India is seeking to boost its cruise tourism. During the G20 Summit last year, secretary of tourism V Vidhyavathi had said that India is aiming to attract 4 million cruise tourists by 2041, up from around 300,000 in 2023.

For this, a draft national strategy for tourism has also been formulated with the aim of making India a preferred cruising destination across deep sea cruises, coastal cruises, river cruises, and yacht cruises.

While cruise lines such as Cordelia Cruises and Costa Cruise are currently operating domestic cruises in the Arabian Sea, the government is also looking to develop river cruise tourism with an investment of INR 450 billion ($5.4 billion).

Europe Introduces New Schengen Visa Rules for Indians

The European Commission has introduced a new visa “cascade” regime for Indians when applying for the Schengen visas. The regime aims to offer longer, multi-entry Schengen visas to Indian tourists.

Speaking to industry players, Skift reported that while multi-year visas with longer durations were already offered to Indians, there was no standard policy in this regard. This new policy is likely to make the issuing of such visas more standardized across all Schengen states.

However, this new regime is not likely to speed up the visa processing times, which is currently posing to be a major challenge for Indians as they gear up for their summer travels.

India’s First Bullet Train to Run in 2026

India is set to get its first bullet train in 2026, said Indian railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The minister said that the construction work for various stations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route has been progressing well.

The maiden bullet train corridor in India will cover a distance of 508 km, of which work has been completed on more than 290 km. Initially slated for completion in August 2022, the project ran into delays over land surveys and acquisition.

Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and CEO of IHCL, called the brand an ideal fit to capture growth opportunities in emerging markets in metros and Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. He said the rollout will commence with 15 hotels in Bekal and Nashik this quarter followed by destinations like Bengaluru, Thane and Jaipur.

IHCL has also announced the opening of Vivanta Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The 95-key hotel is the company’s first Vivanta property in the city. Apart from this, IHCL operates a Ginger in Jamshedpur, making these the only two hotels the company has in the state of Jharkhand.

IHCL currently has a portfolio of 310 hotels, of which 90 are under development. It is looking to open an average of two hotels every month in the 2024-25 financial year. In 2023-24, IHCL witnessed a record number of openings , and its portfolio grew 19% in one year.

Corona India Launches Sunset View Rating System For Luxury Hotel Rooms… Wait, What?

Corona India has introduced a sunset view rating system for luxury hotel rooms, the world’s first one. Currently piloting at a few hotel properties across India, the system aims to ensure that the sunset views from hotel rooms in luxury properties are in line with what they were advertised to be. The ratings will be granted on a five-point scale on the basis of various parameters such as location, wind speed, AQI, and cloud cover.

Sun tourism is becoming a popular trend among travelers as people are flocking towards different destinations specifically to view the sunrise or sunset views. Kanniyakumari has a sunset point, which is a very popular tourist attraction. Apart from this, Manali and Rishikesh are also key destinations that travelers visit in order to enjoy the view of the sun.

Costa Cruise India Interior Cabins

Which cabin should I book?

A lot of first time cruisers choose an inside cabin (an internal cabin without a window) solely due to their budget or simply because they spend maximum time at the lounge, spa, deck or activity area and only require a room for sleep and changeover. However you will be surprised to know that there is normally a very small difference to upgrade to an ocean view cabin (cabin with a view). For a whole different experience think about upgrading to a balcony cabin or mini-suite. In life, few things are worth spending a little extra money on, and a cabin with a balcony or mini-suite is worth everything. Trust Triplou!

How far in advance can I book my cruise?

Choice and availability are best when booked early. Oftentimes certain categories of cabins sell out; especially during peak seasons, so the sooner you can book the better.

What can I do onboard Costa Cruise?

As you soak in the breathtaking view of the tranquil sea and experience the grandeur of India’s First Premium Luxury Cruise Ship, you’ll be treated to loads of surprises and delightful moments. The lucky guests can enjoy high-quality accommodation such as mini-suites, cabins with ocean view and balcony, interconnecting rooms; all featuring plenty of amenities, gourmet cuisines, live entertainment, broadway musicals, burlesque performance, a breathtaking pool deck, multiple spa treatments, exciting excursions, world-class service and much more all included. Though the best part about Costa cruises is the multicuisine gourmet food; from five, six and seven-course dinners down to the burger from the grill, khaman dhokla of Gujarat to the fiery Mumbai vadapav and pav bhaji, Delhi chaat to Kolkata rolls, Goan omelette pav to Chennai idli & dosa….everything you crave for from the Indian Street can be enjoyed at the high seas.

What about the night life?

Night life is the main highlight of a cruise holiday. That’s when life onboard a cruise ship really turns on. There’s dancing, live entertainment, broadway musicals, discos and lounges, casino, feature films, and parties with all loves ones as well as new friends. And the night can go on as long as you want. Even until the spectacle of sunrise at sea.

Are there smoking areas on the ship?

There are smoking areas on the ship – these are normally in designated areas. In principle, smoking is not permitted in any onboard common areas, passage ways, swimming pools, entertainment areas, theatre, conference halls, any decks, onboard shops, food service areas (buffets and restaurants, the medical centres, child-care areas, corridors or elevator foyers, areas where Guests are assembled in groups for safety exercises, disembarkation or tour departures, public toilets, or in bars close to areas where food is served). Smoking is strictly prohibited in all staterooms and stateroom balconies.

What documents do I need to book a cruise?

Proof of citizenship is required for everyone sailing aboard Cordelia cruise. Indian nationals may provide their Passport, Driving Licensee, PAN Card, Voters Card or Aadhaar Card for entry into port and embarkation. For Foreign nationals, Passport is mandatory (please check with the Indian Immigration Office for precise documents apart from valid Passport)

Do I need to purchase travel insurance if traveling locally?

A Travel Insurance gives you and your loved ones peace of mind and protection in the face of an emergency. We have seen many cases of people having to cancel their holiday bookings at the last moment and losing almost the entire value of their fare due to injury, sickness, or death of a travelling companion or immediate family member. Unfortunately, there are a myriad of other unforeseeable circumstances that could occur when traveling to a new place, and travel insurance can protect your vacation investment. Whether you’re looking for medical coverage in a foreign country or want to protect your belongings, there is an insurance policy that is right for you. Our Cruise Experts will be delighted to assist you with the appropriate Travel Insurance policy for you and your loved ones. Also if you currently have travel insurance, be sure to understand what is covered and excluded.

What is cancellation policy?
