Plush is a rock band with a mission to bring rock back to the forefront of the music industry. The band is composed of talented young women, ranging from 18-22, whose accomplishments and talent eclipse their age.

Plush is fronted by singer, songwriter and guitarist Moriah Formica, lead guitarist Bella Perron, bassist Ashley Suppa and drummer Faith Powell.

Plush's debut album featured the Billboard Top 40 charting singles "Hate" and "Better Off Alone." Plush has been electrifying audiences during recent live performances across the United States supporting Kiss, Alice In Chains, Evanescence, Daughtry, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, among others, as well as the big festival stages of Welcome to Rockville, Louder Than Life, Rocklahoma, and more.

After building so much momentum, Plush will embark on the next chapter of its musical journey. The new release, Find The Beautiful, is an EP that features six songs, five original and one classic cover that rock fans know and love. Plush pays homage to Heart by releasing "Barracuda" as an instant grat track. This rendition merges the past with the present, proving rock 'n' roll will never die. The EP also has the hit single "Left Behind," which placed on Billboard's Top 40 Active Rock chart. In support of Find The Beautiful, Plush will tour with Disturbed and Falling In Reverse across the United States.

GIRLBAND! reminisce on small town life on new single ‘Not Like The Rest’

The Nottingham trio are signed to EMI North and have support slots lined up with Feeder and Taking Back Sunday next month

GIRLBAND!

GIRLBAND! have debuted a playful new single, ‘Not Like The Rest’.

The alternative newcomers hail from Nottingham and are signed to EMI North , where they are labelmates with the likes of Nadine Shah .

Per a press release, members Georgie, Jada and Kay came together after making music in other projects and, during the pandemic, they “plugged into the wider community in Nottingham, one that inspired them with 80s culture, vintage fashion and massive dose of 90s nostalgia, Gwen Stefani and R&B groups.” The sound they carved out has been described as “a punk band making pop songs”.

Now, their spirited new single sees them take a trip down memory lane, thinking back to growing up in a small town and not fitting in – “My school was so white/My town was so grey/I was a rainbow, had to hide away/On the 54 bus, she was my first crush/That’s when I knew I had to run away.”

Check out ‘Not Like The Rest’ below:

The band are set to head out on tour later this year and also have festival appearances booked at the likes of Stockton Calling, Sound City, Teddy Rocks and Block Party in France.

"Our agency and management are making every effort to get us to as many cities as possible, and as always it's all about where there is interest, so even if you have to travel a little bit — we would love to see you there at one of the shows!

* GIRLSCHOOL only

GIRLSCHOOL originated in the U.K. during the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal scene in 1978 and is frequently associated with contemporaries and friends MOTÖRHEAD . They are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active and rocking hard after more than 40 years.

Formed from a school band called PAINTED LADY by Kim McAuliffe and Enid Williams , GIRLSCHOOL enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the U.K. in the early 1980s with three albums of "punk-tinged metal" and a few singles.

In the 1990s and 2000s, they concentrated their efforts on live shows and tours, reducing considerably the production of studio albums. During their long career GIRLSCHOOL toured all over the world, performing at many of the biggest rock and metal festivals as well as co-headlining with or supporting some of the most important hard rock and heavy metal bands in the genre.

They maintain a worldwide cult following and are considered an inspiration for many succeeding female rock musicians, such as THE DONNAS .

Original members McAuliffe and Denise Dufort are still in the band to this day. Original lead guitarist Kelly Johnson died of cancer in 2007 and was replaced by Jackie Chambers in 1999.

In January 2019, GIRLSCHOOL parted ways once again with bassist Williams , making way for the return of Tracey Lamb (formerly of ROCK GODDESS and GIRLSCHOOL 1987-1991 and 1993-2000),solidifying the band's lineup for future live shows and recordings.

GIRLSCHOOL 's 14th studio album "WTFortyfive?" is an outstanding and deliciously dirty declaration that age is a number that shows how much real raw attitude you have when it really counts. Kim , Denise , Jackie and Tracey leave the grit under their fingernails and the scuzz on their crusty leather boots as they riff and stomp their way through 12 statements of intent showing major attitude, some great melodies, and a consistent crunch to every guitar.

girl band tour

In one sense, it’s easy for artists—songwriters, specifically—to express their feelings in their work. After all, that’s what the lyrics are for! But it’s much harder to convey emotional energy in how you play, slash at the guitar, and the structure of the music itself. That’s precisely why Girl and Girl’s Sub Pop debut, Call A Doctor, feels like such a vital, electrifying shock to the senses. Not since the early work of Car Seat Headrest or Conor Oberst’s widescreen emotional brutality as Bright Eyes has indie rock managed to come across as this intimate and grandiose, as the Australian quartet led by Kai James lay a lifetime’s worth of woes—mental health, the human race’s planned obsolescence if you’ve been living on this cursed rock you know what we’re getting at—across a canvas of indie rock that feels both timeless and in-the-moment.

An audacious and aggressively tuneful blast of a record, Call A Doctor is an unforgettable first bow from Girl and Girl, whose origins lie in James and guitarist Jayden Williams jamming in his mother’s garage in the afternoon after school. One afternoon, James’ Aunty Liss headed down to their practice space after walking her dog and asked if she could sit in on drums. “It sounded really great,” James recalls. “We begged her to stay, and she said, ‘I’ll stay until you find another drummer.’ We wore her down, and she eventually became a permanent member.”

After bassist Fraser Bell joined to round things out, Girl and Girl hit the road and began to make a name for themselves beyond the Australian bush, eventually signing to Sub Pop off the strength of word of mouth. Call A Doctor came together quickly soon after, largely recorded in marathon sessions in a two-story industrial complex over the course of two weeks. “That added to the intensity of the album,” James says about the frenzied creative process overseen by producer Burke Reid. “I can hear the stress in the record, which is good because that’s what it’s about—being tense, tied up, and in your own head.”

Call A Doctor ’s eleven songs—spanning sweeping guitar epics and wry acoustic shuffles to spiky punk maneuvers and the type of raw, adoringly unvarnished indie-pop associated with legendary PacNW label K Records—are literally plucked from James’ personal history, as he reworked older recordings with newer lyrics reflecting his past struggles as well as new anxieties that emerged prior to the album’s recording. “I’ve struggled with mental health for a lot of my life,” he explains, “and I went through a particularly difficult patch when we were making the album; the band had started to get some attention, and I felt an enormous amount of pressure to live up to it.”

Far from the sound of collapsing under pressure, Call A Doctor finds James and Co. stepping up with their entire collective chest. This is a record that’s so out-and-out alive that you nearly feel like you’re in the same room with Girl and Girl as you listen to it; lead single “Hello” practically bursts through the speakers, amplified by Aunty Liss’ unbelievable stickhandling duties. “‘Hello’ is all about romanticizing your own misery. Letting those deep, dark, dirty thoughts take over. Understanding that even if you could pull yourself out, you wouldn’t because the constant stress and worry is far too familiar and comfortable.”

“Mother” pogos on a spiky groove that’s reminiscent of the geographically close New Zealanders who make up the legendary Flying Nun label, while “Oh Boy” draws from the Shins’ own jangly sound, injected with James’ wonderfully nervy vocals. Then there’s Call A Doctor ’s sorta-centerpiece “Maple Jean and the Anthropocene,” a five-minute epic offering a new perspective on climate change and the notion of what it means, in a personal sense, to suffer: “I live in the bushland, and I was driving home one night and hit and killed a wallaby with my car,” James recalls while discussing the song’s lyrical inspiration. “My first thought was, ‘What is the universe trying to tell me?’ No remorse, no guilt, just total self-centeredness. Which was like, Woah, you fucking psychopath! This wallaby wasn’t put on this earth to send you a message. That’s what the song is about, our egocentric species - thinking you’re the main character and that everything that happens is somehow about you.”

“This record is about an individual who’s too far in their head, trying to get out,” James continues while discussing Call A Doctor ’s overall outlook—specifically the snapshot it offers of its creator. But even though this record deals with uneasy topics we all know well from within ourselves, it’s important to emphasize how teeming with life Girl and Girl’s music is. There’s a brazen, bold sense of humor to this stuff, an undeniable brightness to the darkness that makes it impossible not to be drawn in as a listener. Feeling down never sounded so goddamn good.

I went to the Girls Aloud reunion concert and had The Show of a lifetime

Cheryl, nicola roberts, nadine coyle and kimberley walsh were on top form at london's o2 arena for the girls aloud show.

Girls Aloud - Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl onstage at The Girls Aloud show

Twenty-two years ago, I spent my Saturday nights glued to Popstars: The Rivals , rooting for the girls in what promised to be the ultimate girl band versus boy band chart battle. After weeks of whittling down the contestants, five lucky girls were chosen for the girl band: Cheryl Tweedy , Nicola Roberts , Nadine Coyle , Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh . Their name? Girls Aloud . The boy band? Never heard of again. Girl power hadn't been this compelling since the Spice Girls – and I was obsessed.

Flash forward to 2024 and the band is back together, performing a sold-out reunion tour with 30 dates across Ireland and the United Kingdom, including five nights at London's O2 Arena. After Sarah tragically lost her fight with breast cancer in 2021 , aged just 39, I wasn't sure where this left the group. But Girls Aloud proved their charisma, stage presence and certified pop bangers still hold up as a foursome.

Girls Aloud open concert with Untouchable

Here's everything you need to know if you're hitting up The Girls Aloud Show... Spoiler: I am still obsessed.

Pop perfection

More girls aloud.

The band holds the Guinness World Record for having 20 consecutive UK Top 10 singles, so there naturally wasn't a dud song on the setlist. From the debut single that made them a household name, Sound of the Underground , to their Ten reunion material (including my favourite toe-tapper, Something New ), Girls Aloud proved they've got the music catalogue to sell out an arena tour.

The Girls Aloud Show - Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts

The group was always ahead of its time, with songs breaking classic pop conventions. Take fan favourite tune The Show as a case in point, which sounds like three songs rolled into one. This innovation is perhaps why their hits still stand up two decades on.

And they've certainly got the fanbase. As my friend put it, Girls Aloud are for the girls, the gays, and the largely millennial audience was living out their teenage dreams. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a more varied crowd than expected; gaggles of girls in their early twenties who knew every word, young children with their parents and retired couples wearing matching merch.

Tributes to Sarah Harding

I was apprehensive about how they would pay tribute to Sarah. A brief nod would have felt trite and tokenistic given that her absence loomed large over the night. However, the girls did her justice by weaving mentions of their late bandmate throughout the setlist.

Girls Aloud tribute to Sarah Harding during concert in London

Sarah was repeatedly spotlighted during the show; the girls fell silent as her iconic solos played on the screens behind them, including during The Promise finale with her now bittersweet line, "Here I am, a walking primrose, wondering if I'll ever see you again".

As Nadine – her closest friend in the band – referenced "our gorgeous Sarah", her voice quivered, and my heart went out to the foursome, performing alongside a ghost night after night.

Girls Aloud performing The Promise with tribute to Sarah Harding

Naturally, Whole Lotta History was dedicated entirely to Sarah. The girls left the stage as Sarah's outro played on a loop followed by a black and white video montage highlighting her vivacious personality, eliciting a respectful silence followed by piercing cheers from the crowd. Girls Aloud fans will know that Sarah was always the fun one, and the one who loved performing the most, so it was special to see that highlighted.

Following Sarah's death, Girls Aloud raised over £1 million for breast cancer research and their fundraising continues to this day. The singer's legacy is a groundbreaking breast cancer research project aiming to identify young women at increased risk of contracting the disease. The message on the night was loud and clear – Sarah might be gone but she will never be forgotten.

And with their renewed energy and electric onstage chemistry, it was clear Sarah's absence had brought them closer, cementing their bond as a band.

The verdict

The girls appeared awestruck by the London crowd's energy. Taking multiple breaks between songs to address the audience and thank them for their generous applause and support, I caught Nicola, Kimberley, Nadine and Cheryl repeatedly exchanging looks of disbelief. It was as though they couldn't quite believe people still cared, 11 years after their last comeback tour.

But to me, it's a no-brainer. Girls Aloud proved they've still got the loyal support, catalogue of hits, and talent to make it in an ever-changing music industry, which desperately needs more girl groups and joyful pop escapism. If they were to release new music, I, for one, would be front row at The Show .

Glastonbury fans are convinced iconic 00s band are secret special guests for headliner

Glastonbury Festival 2024 is right around the corner with music fans flocking to Worthy Farm for a weekend of live music.

Dua Lipa , SZA , and Coldplay will headline this year’s event with Shania Twain performing in the coveted legends slot.

With hundreds of acts to choose from, music lovers will be spoiled for choice with how to entertain themselves when Glastonbury kicks off next week – and that’s without considering the rumoured secret acts .

Sleuths believe that 00s pop icons Girls Aloud are set to join the Dance The Night hitmaker Dua, 28, onstage as Cheryl , Kimberley Walsh , Nicola Roberts , and Nadine Coyle near the end of their huge sell-out arena tour.

It’s also not uncommon for headliners to bring out special guests, with Elton John bringing out everyone from Gabriels singer Jacob Lusk to The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers for his 2023 farewell set .

It is the first time the group have performed together in more than 11 years and the first time they’ve reunited as a four-piece following the death of Sarah Harding in 2021 .

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that there is a glaring gap in the band’s O2 Arena residency on Friday, June 28, which could see them make a whistle-stop tour to the Pyramid Stage.

Fans were quick to take to social media to share their supposed evidence of the impending Glastonbury surprise – as well as scream their excitement.

‘Wild speculation: Dua Lipa’s Glastonbury set time is 1h45m. Seems kinda long? According to http://setlist.fm , so far this tour her shows have been more like 1h30m. Does she have a surprise planned? Guests maybe? Who? Could be anyone, though I note Girls Aloud have a gap,’ Muldoon posted on X.

oh i swear if dua brings out girls aloud as a guest for glastonbury, i will ascend. i will be fulfilled spiritually and pass from this world. — katie 🌊💔 RADICAL TORTURED OPTIMISM DEPARTMENT (@taylorlipas) June 23, 2024

Alec Wilson asking the user not to ger their hopes up, while others offered their own theories as to who could join her.

One begged for Ryan Gosling to join her for a rendition of his hit Barbie song I’m Just Ken after Dua starred in the film as Mermaid Barbie alongside John Cena .

Others, however, believe she will be joined by Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin for a performance of her single Homesick, which was written by and features the frontman.

Taylorlipa echoed what many were thinking, writing: ‘Oh I swear if Dua brings out girls aloud as a guest for Glastonbury, I will ascend. I will be fulfilled spiritually and pass from this world.’

Should Girls Aloud be heading to Glastonbury, they will surely be hoping for a smooth set following drama on their UK tour which seemed to show Cheryl almost pulled off stage in Newcastle.

The pop icon, 40,  gave a teary speech  to the arena of Geordies and remembered how she left the city with ‘a suitcase and a dream’ and is now back 22 years later.

A video of her words has circulated on social media, with many flocking to the comments section with love for the Newcastle-born star.

However another video, filmed by fan in the audience @Emily741_, saw Cheryl reaching out into the crowd in a ‘terrifying’ moment that almost saw her topple off stage.

Did Taylor Swift hit back at Dave Grohl's comments about performing live? Why fans think so

She's no pretender.

In London over the weekend, Taylor Swift appeared to respond to comments from Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl suggesting that she doesn't perform live during her concerts.

Swift addressed the crowd at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, June 23, praising her band and crew after the audience offered a large ovation following her performance of the song "Champagne Problems."

“What you just did is an unforgettable moment in not just my life, but every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s going to be playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight, they deserve this so much," Swift said, according to footage posted on X . "And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously — we will never forget it."

Two people who attended Sunday's show at Wembley confirmed to NBC News that Swift made those comments from the stage after singing the "Evermore" track.

Many fans on social media took Swift's comments as a response to Grohl's crack about performing live.

Here's a timeline of what the pair said over the weekend at their respective performances in London.

What did Dave Grohl say about Taylor Swift?

Foo Fighters also performed in London over the weekend, and Grohl spoke to the crowd at London Stadium during their show on Saturday, June 22.

"I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift. So we like to call our tour the 'Errors Tour,'" Grohl said, riffing on the name of Swift's "Eras Tour," according to video posted on X .

"We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f----- errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live," he said, before adding a sarcastic, "What!?”

"Just saying. We're a live band," he continued, to cheers from the crowd. "You guys like raw, live rock 'n' roll music, right?"

Representatives for Swift and Grohl did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TODAY.com.

When did Taylor Swift and Dave Grohl perform in London?

Swift and Grohl both played multiple dates in London over the weekend.

Swift wrapped up three dates in a row at Wembley Stadium, in northwest London, on Sunday, June 23.

Grohl's Foo Fighters played three nights at London Stadium in Stratford, about an hour away in Stratford, East London, from Thursday, June 20 to Saturday, June 22.

Swift had a slew of VIP guests at her shows , including Prince William, Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott and more.

William shared a photo with Swift and his two oldest children , Prince George and Princess Charlotte, after Friday night's show.

Swift also shared a selfie of the group , along with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, and wished the Prince of Wales a happy birthday. He turned 42 on June 21, the day of Swift's first performance.

"Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start,” Swift said , adding British and American flags emoji.

Travis Kelce also brought his brother Jason Kelce and his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce to the show on Friday. On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end moved from the VIP tent to the "Eras Tour" stage when he made his first-ever appearance and carried her during his surprise performance.

The crowd went wild when the NFL star appeared on the big screen beside Swift and two other dancers, wearing a black-and-white suit and a top hat.

Swift has five more performances scheduled in the British capital later this summer, from Aug. 15 to 20.
