About Climate Pledge Arena

Climate Pledge Arena, located at Seattle Center is the complete redevelopment of a historic landmark, originally built for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. TEXAS PERFORMING ARTS CONFIRMS DATE WITH COMEDIAN JO KOY. FUNNY IS FUNNY WORLD TOUR STOPS AT BASS CONCERT HALL SUNDAY, JANUARY 9, 2021. On sale this Fri, August 13 at 10am

AUSTIN, TX – Texas Performing Arts presents the Jo Koy: Funny Is Funny Tour at Bass Concert Hall on Sunday, January 9th at 7:30pm. Koy returns to Austin after his sold out performance in Bass in January of 2020. Artist pre-sale begins Wednesday, August 11th at 10am and tickets go on-sale Friday, August 13th at 10am. Tickets available from $46.50 - $76.50 and a VIP package is available for $224.50.

ABOUT JO KOY As one of today’s premiere stand-up comics Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house to now selling out the world’s most prestigious venues. The hugely relatable comic pulls inspiration from his family, specifically his son. In March 2021, the comedian released his first autobiography, Mixed Plate with Harper Collins Publishers. In this funny and moving memoir, Koy uncovers the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama, and the laughter as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, a country and the world.

Koy recently finished production with Amblin Partners and Dan Lin’s Ridback for the comedy film, Easter Sunday releasing in theaters April 1, 2022. The feature film will be loosely based on Koy’s life experiences and will be set around a family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday.

The comedian has had five highly-rated and successful stand-up specials on Comedy Central and Netflix including his latest variety special In His Element current streaming on Netflix with plans to shoot his 3rd stand-up special in 2022. He can also be heard on his weekly podcast, The Koy Pond with Jo Koy by Starburns Audio.

In fall 2020, Koy received the cover for Variety’s comedy issue as a “Legend and Groundbreaker.” In 2018, Koy was given the prestigious “Stand-Up Comedian of The Year” award at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. In 2019, the comedian reached #1 on the Billboard Charts for his stand-up comedy album, Live From Seattle .

Koy has appeared on over 140 episodes of Chelsea Lately as a season regular roundtable guest. Comedian Jo Koy Announces FUNNY IS FUNNY World Tour at The Duke Energy Center in January

The performance will take place on January 16, 2022.

Due to overwhelming demand, Comedian Jo Koy will bring his Funny Is Funny World Tour to Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts on January 16, 2022. Pre-sale will begin Wednesday, November 10 at 10am, and tickets go on-sale Friday, November 12 at 10am. Ticket prices will range from $185 - $55 and will be available to purchase at the Duke Energy Center Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, or by phone 1-800-982-2787.

Jo Koy 2022 Biography As one of today’s premiere stand-up comics Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house. The hugely relatable comic pulls inspiration from his family, specifically his son.

Koy started 2020 with a bang with four sold out shows and selling over 25,000 tickets at both the Chase Center in San Francisco and The Forum in Los Angeles. He continues selling-out and breaking records at some of the most prestigious venues around the world including Mall of Asia Arena (Manila, PH), Coca- Cola Arena (Dubai), ICC Theatre (Sydney, AU), and Radio City Music Hall (New York City).

In 2017, Koy broke a record for the most tickets sold by a single artist at 23,000 tickets and 11 sold-out shows at The Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu. In response, the mayor’s office in Honolulu proclaimed November 24th as “Jo Koy Day.” The comedian continued his record-breaking streak by being the only comedian to sell out 6 shows at The Warfield in San Francisco. He then broke the attendance record at Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg with 4 sold-out shows. In 2019, Koy sold-out 5 shows at the San Diego Civic Theatre, the most consecutive sold-out shows for a comedian. He recently became the only comedian to sell 17,000+ tickets, over 30 shows (in one year) at the Brea Improv.

On March 23rd, 2021, the comedian released his first autobiography, Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo with Harper Collins Publishers to raved reviews. In this funny and moving memoir, Koy uncovers the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama, and the laughter as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, a country and the world.

Koy recently wrapped production for the Amblin Partners and Dan Lin’s Ridback comedy film, Easter Sunday. The feature film will be based on Koy’s life experiences and will be set around a family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday. The film will soon be released domestically by Universal Pictures.

Jo Koy has appeared on more than 140 episodes of E!'s hit late night show Chelsea Lately as a regular roundtable guest, and has had a number of stand-up specials on both Comedy Central and Netflix. On February 20, 2022, he comes to the Prudential Center for the first time!

VACCINE REQUIREMENTS

All guests aged five (5) and older entering Prudential Center will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Additionally, the city of Newark’s previous order requiring all guests to wear masks throughout events, unless actively eating or drinking, will remain in effect.

Coming To The Show?

Start your special evening at Prudential Lounge, located at 165 Mulberry St! This newly renovated lounge is the perfect spot to grab a drink before the show begins. Lounge Opens At 6:30pm

Guests wishing to transfer tickets must log into their Ticketmaster account and manage transfers from there.

Guests with general admission tickets may begin lineup at 8:00AM on the show day. The general admission line will being at the Citizens Tower on the corner of Mulberry St. and Edison Place.

Bags up to 12"x14" are permitted inside Prudential Center. Anything larger, including backpacks, are not permitted, with the exception of childcare or medical bags. Permissible larger bags will be X-rayed. All bags are subject to search by Prudential Center security team members at each point of entry. Bags that do not meet these expectations must be returned to the guest’s vehicle or stored in a Prudential Center supplied locker at the guest’s expense. Lockers are located outside the Ford Tower and Lafayette Street entrances.

Small necklaces/chain jewelry is permitted for this event.

Small, non-professional cameras without an external flash or extendable lens may be brought into Prudential Center. Video and audio equipment, GoPros, selfie sticks, professional cameras (with a lens of 2.5 inches or greater) and recording devices are strictly prohibited.
