Visit someone in prison

Use this service to request a social visit to a prisoner in England or Wales. There’s a different way to book a prison visit in Northern Ireland or a prison visit in Scotland .

To use this service you need the:

  • prisoner number
  • prisoner’s date of birth
  • dates of birth for all visitors coming with you

If you do not have the prisoner’s location or prisoner number, use the ‘Find a prisoner’ service .

You can choose up to 3 dates and times you prefer. The prison will email you to confirm when you can visit.

The prisoner must add you to their visitor list before you can request a visit. This can take up to 2 weeks.

Request a prison visit

Visits you cannot book through this service.

Contact the prison directly if you need to arrange any of the following:

  • legal visits, for example legal professionals discussing the prisoner’s case
  • reception visits, for example the first visit to the prisoner within 72 hours of being admitted
  • double visits, for example visiting for 2 hours instead of 1
  • family day visits - special family events that the prison organises

Help with the costs of prison visits

You may be able to get help with the cost of prison visits if you’re getting certain benefits or have a health certificate.

You can now book a prison visit online

You can now book a prison visit online

Booking a prison visit should be simple and straightforward. Until now that was far from the case. Booking a visit required both prisoner and visitor to jump through hoops: paper forms and drawn-out phone calls. And if the visit date turned out to be impossible, they had to start all over again.

Now you can book a visit online . It takes about 5 minutes. Before, picking an available date was pot luck. Now there's a date-picker that lets you select 3 possible slots instead of 1. It’s a straight-forward service with user-needs at its heart but, if you get stuck, you can call the prison's visits booking line and someone will help you with the booking.

Here's a very short film we've made about it:

By making it easier to book visits, prisoners will see more of their friends and family. Evidence suggests this will help their rehabilitation. Transformation isn't just about websites.

The service was built by the Ministry of Justice, with a combined team from the National Offender Management Service, HM Prison Service and MoJ Digital Services.

How do you find out the prisoners number??? so you can go ahead with online booking of a visit?

Comment by Carrie Barclay posted on 24 August 2015

You can find a prisoner using this service: https://www.gov.uk/find-prisoner However it will be the prisoner's responsibility to get in touch with you to let you know their prison number etc.

Hi, If a visit is booked and someone cant make it, is it possible to change the name of one of the people to someone else?

Comment by Louise Duffy posted on 30 July 2015

It's best to contact the prison directly if this happens. You can find contact details here: http://www.justice.gov.uk/contacts/prison-finder

Thanks, Louise

Hi my partner was sent to nottingham today, I was on his previous list 4 months ago for a visit. Will that still be on the system all will it have to he put through again if so how long does it take to be approved for a visit? Thanks Paige.

Comment by Louise Duffy posted on 29 July 2015

You might want to get in touch with the prison first before booking a visit. You can find the contact details of the prison here: http://www.justice.gov.uk/contacts/prison-finder

Comment by Debs posted on 27 July 2015

Hello Is there a list of prisons where online booking can't be used?

Comment by Louise Duffy posted on 28 July 2015

According to the information on this page: https://www.gov.uk/prison-visits , you can arrange a visit to any prison in England and Wales through this service. If you're visiting someone in Northern Ireland or Scotland you'll need to contact the prison directly.

This link also lists the type of visits that are not covered by the online service: https://www.gov.uk/prison-visits so you need to get in touch with the prison directly.

Hope that's helpful.

So how do I find the booking form to fill in I am new to computers

Comment by Louise Duffy posted on 27 July 2015

Here's the link to the booking form: https://www.gov.uk/prison-visits

You'll need this information to complete the form:

prisoner number prisoner’s date of birth dates of birth for all visitors coming with you make sure the person you’re visiting has added you to their visitor list

Hope that's useful.

i have a visit booked which i did online but i do not have a visiting order woll the prison let me in?

Comment by Carrie Barclay posted on 11 May 2015

Your identity will be checked on arrival to make sure you’re on the visitor list.

Comment by jessicca posted on 27 January 2015

What happens after you book the visit and its confirmed by email do you need the visiting order ?

Comment by Carrie Barclay posted on 29 January 2015

The Visiting Order (VO) number is generated by the booking system, it is included in your confirmation email and you will need this to change or cancel a booking.

However, if you're visiting a prison the guidance is that you only need your ID, not the VO number. If when you visit the prison you are asked for the VO number you should report this via the Contact Us link on the Prison Visits Booking form.

I hope that helps.

Comment by Ilysa Mcnally posted on 18 November 2014

How late in advance can I book e.g. book a visit today (Tuesday) for the Sunday coming???

Comment by Carrie Barclay posted on 19 November 2014

Hi Ilysa. Thanks for your question. A visit needs to be booked 3 working days in advance. So in this case, the visit request would have to be no later than Tuesday to allow for a visit on Sunday.

Comment by carole posted on 23 October 2014

How far in advance can you book visits

Comment by Carrie Barclay posted on 23 October 2014

Hi Carole. You can book up to 28 days in advance. Thanks for your question.

Dates of fixtures and kick off times are subject to change.

ADDITIONAL HOME TICKET INFORMATION

Online Ballot

All current My Leeds Members who are unsuccessful in purchasing a ticket in Phase 1 or 2 can apply for the online ballot.

If you wish to be balloted/seated with friends or family Members, then you must register all in one application.

Each Member can only register once for the ballot. The maximum number of Members within a ballot application is 10.

To apply for friends and family Members, they must be linked to your account via the ‘My Friends & Family’ option within your online ticketing account.

It is imperative that you select the correct age band for each ballot applicant.

The lead applicant will need to enter credit/debit card details when submitting a ballot application.

No payment will be processed at the point of registering in the ballot.

Please note, when you register for the ballot, you will be able to specify ‘General Seating’ or ‘Family Area’ seating.

If you are successful, the automated balloting system will automatically allocate you a seat which could be in any of our general admission stands.

To apply for the Family Area, you must meet our criteria of no more than two adults to one concession.

If you have accessibility requirements, a separate ballot is available for Disabled Supporters.

Once the deadline date has passed for ballot registrations, the ballot will be randomly drawn.

The supporters who are successful in the ballot will automatically have their credit/debit card payment charged for the total ticket cost (including booking fees) and the lead applicant will receive a confirmation email containing their mobile tickets.

If you do not receive an email then you have not been successful. Supporters can check if they are successful in the ballot via the ‘My Account’ option within their online ticketing account.

Ballots will be run on a game-by-game basis.

Ticket Forwarding

General admission Season Ticket Holders and My Leeds Members will be able to forward their ticket as a mobile ticket to another supporter if they are unable to attend an individual match.

However, the supporter who they are forwarding their ticket to must be linked to their ticketing account via the ‘My Friends & Family’ option and also be a current My Leeds Member.

Please note, you can forward your seat to a My Leeds Member who has the same price type at no extra cost. e.g. Adult Season Ticket Holder to Adult My Leeds Member.

You can also upgrade your ticket as part of the Ticket Forwarding process, e.g. Junior Season Ticket Holder to Adult My Leeds Member. In this scenario, there would be an upgrade fee to pay.

If you wish to forward your Season Ticket seat to a Member with a lower price category, e.g. Adult Season Ticket Holder to Junior My Leeds Member, then this can be done, but no downgrade refund will be offered.

In this scenario, you need to select the new owner of the ticket from your Friends & Family list and the new price type, which in this example is Adult.

The new price type that you enter must be that of the Season Ticket Holder irrespective of the price type of the Member receiving the forwarded ticket.

To forward your ticket, please follow the below simple step by step instructions:

1.        Log into your online ticket account  https://tickets.leedsunited.com/

2.        Once logged in, select the ‘Tickets’ option underneath your name shown in the top right-hand corner

3.         Select the relevant game, click the ‘Forward Ticket’ button

4.        You will see the game and your seat details listed, click the ‘Forward Ticket’ button

5.        Select the new owner of your ticket, click the dropdown to select the Member from your Friends & Family list

6.        Select the new price type (Adult, Senior etc) for the Member and click ‘Forward Ticket’

7.        The ticket will appear in your basket, any difference in price will appear here (E.g., Junior to Adult) Click Proceed to checkout

8.        Confirmation will appear of who you are forwarding your ticket too, if correct, click ‘Next’

9.        Click to accept the Terms and Conditions, click ‘Submit’

10. The Season Ticket Holders Season pass or Members match ticket will be deactivated. An email will be sent to the Season Ticket Holder or Member and an email confirmation containing the mobile ticket will be sent direct to the Member who has been forwarded the ticket.

11. Ticket Forward complete!

12. Please note, once a season ticket seat or match ticket seat has been forwarded it cannot be recalled by the original Season Ticket Holder or original Member.

General admission Season Ticket Holders and Members can forward their seat to a My Leeds Member right up until when the turnstiles open on matchday. Turnstiles open 90 minutes prior to kick off.

Home Tickets: General Stand Information

JOHN CHARLES WEST STAND

The West Stand is traditionally known as the 'Main Stand'. This is the location where the players run out of the tunnel and the home and away team dugouts are positioned. The away fans are located in the South end of the West Stand.

EAST STAND FAMILY AREA

This area is recommended for Family Groups.

The Family Area is designed for adults attending with concessions.  Tickets in this area are allocated on a strict ratio of two adults to one concession.  There must be at least one person in the family group over the age of 18. Tickets in the Family Area must be purchased in one transaction. For safeguarding reasons, where your booking includes a child’s ticket you must purchase adjoining seats.

This area has excellent concourse offering a range of food and beverages.

The club will strictly monitor the behaviour and language of fans in this section to protect the family environment. Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated in the Family Area.

EAST STAND UPPER

The East Stand Upper is not recommended for supporters who suffer from vertigo or supporters who have difficulty walking. Due to safety reasons children under the age of five are not permitted in this stand.

NORTH & SOUTH STANDS

The North and South Stands are the busiest and most vocal areas of the Stadium. These areas are not recommended for young children or family groups. Although monitored, supporters in these stands have a tendency to stand throughout the game.

VISITING FANS

The visiting fans are located at the South End of the John Charles West Stand. Visiting supporters need to contact their club in advance of the game to purchase tickets.

Away Tickets: Policy

In the EFL Championship each club must make provision for at least 2,000 visiting supporters or such number as represents 10% of the club’s certified capacity, if less than 2,000.

Over the last few seasons, the club has developed a policy, in consultation with the Supporters Advisory Board, to ensure the allocation of away tickets is founded on rewarding away loyalty whilst also allowing the wider fan base to attend a small number of games a season to be able to experience supporting the team away from home. The away ticketing policy will continue to be focused on rewarding our supporters who have regularly attended away fixtures, with Away Season Ticket Holders guaranteed a ticket along with those supporters who have achieved a high attendance record (Super Away Attendees*) attending** over 80% of away games (League & Cup) in the seasons between 2015/16 and 2019/20 (100 games or more between 2015/16 and 2019/20).  Please note, for the 2023/24 season, no further supporters will be invited to join the 'Super Away Attendees' group unless any of the existing 'Super Away Attendees' lapse. The remaining tickets will then be distributed between supporters who gained a high away match attendance during the 2022/23 season – these supporters will have a 50% chance of gaining a ticket for each away match. This will mean that almost two thirds of the tickets will always be allocated to supporters with a track record of high away attendance. By also ensuring that a small allocation of tickets are made available for Season Ticket Holders and Members, we are offering more fans the chance to experience supporting the team away from home, which will in turn help to grow the Leeds United fan base, particularly with younger supporters. Growing our fan base is a central strategic pillar of ensuring continued on-field success.

Home Season Ticket Holders and Members will be offered tickets on a first come first served basis, allowing them the opportunity to not only occasionally attend an away match but also allowing them the chance to build up their away attendance to enable them to access the away tracker system for future campaigns.

* Please note, a supporter who has accrued 100+ away games as a Personal Assistant (PA) using complimentary tickets does not qualify as a Super Away Attendee unless the disabled supporter they accompany also qualifies by having attended 100+ away games.  Personal Assistants (PA) accounts do not accrue their own personal loyalty.

**Purchased a ticket via the Leeds United Ticket Office.

Away Tickets: Allocation Distribution

The away allocation policy is fully transparent to supporters. The example below is based on an allocation of 3000;

27% Away Season Ticket Holders 9.5% Super Away Attendees 27% Tracker (supporters with high tracker attendance from the 2022/23 season) 27% Home Season Ticket Holders on a first come first served basis 9.5% Members on a first come first served basis

Away tickets are only available to current Season Ticket Holders / Members (strictly one ticket each)

CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS FOR FRIENDS OR FAMILY?

In advance of any match tickets going on sale, supporters are reminded to familiarise themselves with our online ticketing system and ensure that all of their personal details (including email address) are correct on their ticketing account. All Members must create a friends and family list on the ticketing platform to enable them to purchase tickets on behalf of other supporters. Internal Travel Booking and Administration team

The University has an internal Travel Booking and Administration team to assist staff and students. Contact the team for help with a range of enquiries, from booking process support, identifying suitable travel options or finding quotes for group travel, to managing and escalating queries. Please continue to use the online tool for all bookings and amendments in the first instance and visit the University Travel Procurement page for up-to-date information.

A Worldwide Business Travel insurance policy has been purchased by the University to provide automatic cover for any member of staff, postgraduate, undergraduate student or any person under a contract to the University, travelling outside the UK on behalf of the University and representing the University in the course of their business. Our travel insurance policy is renewed annually on the 29th September. If you are travelling from one policy period to another you don't need to do anything, your cover will automatically renew. Please note the policy only applies to international trips and not travel within the UK. It also does not provide cover for a spouse or children accompanying the insured person.

Please read the Summary of Travel Insurance document prior to travel. It contains useful information about your travel insurance. If you're being asked to purchase additional insurance by your host institution or University, you may wish to send the summary cover document to your host institution to check if the additional insurance is needed or not.

  • Cover is usually automatic (but see bullet point below about planned travel to certain countries which you must notify the Insurance Office about prior to making any plans), i.e you do not have to provide details of individual journeys and you do not require a Certificate of Insurance to confirm cover is in place.
  • Insurance for students on work placement, electives, study abroad and field courses is free
  • Covid related medical expenses and unrecoverable travel expenses, such as cancellation or change of itinerary are covered.
  • Trips in the United Kingdom are NOT covered
  • The maximum duration of any single trip must not exceed 12 months without prior notification to the Insurance Office
  • Incidental holidays are included provided the main purpose of the journey is for business or study and the holiday is in the same continent as the business/study element of the trip. The personal holiday should not exceed 14 days or the length of time taken for business/study. If you wish to take more than the 14 days please source your own private insurance.
  • Sporting activities are covered including winter and water sports.
  • Pre-existing medical conditions are covered provided travel is not contrary to medical advice. NOTE: foreseeable expenses eg repeat prescriptions and routine check-ups are not covered
  • Please check the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for travel advice. Where travel is against FCDO advice you must seek advice and approval from your Faculty Health & Safety Manager.
  • Where FCDO advise against all but essential travel, at the time of booking, any decision to curtail or cancel a trip due to increased risk will not be covered.
  • Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Ethiopia, Gaza, Haiti, Iraq, Israel, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, Iran, and any country or area where the FCDO advises against all travel ('red' areas).

All information in our brochures was correct at the time of print. Current ticket prices can be found in the booking sections of our website.

Discounts apply to students and children under 18 in full-time education, Leeds Card Holders and anyone receiving disability or unemployment benefits. Discounted tickets are subject to availability and only one discount is applicable per ticket. Discounted tickets can be booked online – you may be asked for ID when collecting tickets or entering the auditorium.

Booking fees

An additional charge (currently £2.50) applies to each transaction (regardless of how many tickets are booked) except when booking at the Box Office counter. This does not apply to schools.

Ticket delivery

You can select to receive your tickets by collection from the Box Office, or by email (there’s no need to print out your tickets, simply show it to a member of staff on your device as you enter the auditorium).

Booking 10 or more tickets?

Group and school bookings.

Please contact our Box Office on 0113 213 7700 or email [email protected] to reserve and/or book in your group or school (10 tickets or more).

Groups of 10+ get £5 off tickets on the top 2 price bands*.

School ticket prices vary according to each production, the range is listed on the show’s webpage. To help support your visit, every 11th seat will be free of charge. When booking, please provide the total number of seats required including staff.

Schools tickets are for Monday to Friday performances only and may be available in limited numbers. You are still welcome to book once this limit is reached, but the standard discount rates will apply. Please note, we strongly discourage students from taking notes during performances at Leeds Playhouse.

You can also pre-order ice creams and programmes when you make your booking, so they’re waiting for you before the show or at the interval. If you’re with a coach then you can drop off just outside the door, and there’s plenty of coach parking nearby.

*Group and school booking discounts are subject to availability and may not apply to all shows. Group and school booking discounts are currently unavailable online.

Terms and Conditions

Age recommendations.

Age recommendation is assessed according to the complexity and sensitivity of issues, images, sexual references and strength of language used in both Leeds Playhouse and visiting productions. Any sensitive content is highlighted on the show’s web pages where possible. This information may not be available to us until nearer to the performance date, so please check back for updates.

We encourage schools, parents or guardians to call our Box Office with any specific concerns or questions regarding sensitive material in the productions.

Arriving late

If you arrive late for the start of a performance or after an interval we appreciate that you will want to take your seat as soon as possible. To limit disturbance to fellow audience members and artists we may have to ask you to wait until a suitable break in the performance and/or show you to seats at the back of the auditorium. Occasionally this may not be possible once the performance has started.

Booking charges and methods of payment

Booking in person at the Box Office carries no charge, a £2.50 booking fee per transaction applies to bookings made online and over the telephone. We accept payment by cash, card or invoice (for group and/or school bookings). Personal cheques are no longer accepted due to the guarantee card system no longer in use.

Please note, it has been brought to our attention that under 18s wishing to pay for food and beverage with a bank card have restrictions on their payment method due to the Playhouse being licensed to sell alcohol. We advise under 18s wishing to purchase food and beverage items during their visit bring cash or check account restrictions with their bank ahead of their visit. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and are looking into this.

Children and Babe in Arms

Tickets are required for each child attending a performance. Discounts for children under 18 are subject to availability. Free Babe in Arms tickets are available for children under 12 months (the child will not have their own seat but sit with you). Children and Babe in Arms tickets can be booked online.

Some performances have age guidance; please read the information on the show’s webpage or call the Box Office for details.

Parents are reminded that some performances are not suitable for young children. We do not advise that children under 14 attend the theatre without a responsible adult and venue staff accept no responsibility for any unaccompanied children under 18.

Concessions and discounts

We offer concessions for most performances. Only one concession or discount can be applied per ticket. Child ticket refers to under 18. Full time Students should be in possession of a valid student ID or NUS card. We reserve the right to check proof of eligibility at any point and entry will be refused if you are found to have purchased a concession you are not entitled to.

Schools concessions are to enable educational establishments to bring groups of pupils or students to see performances at a reduced rate. They are not transferable to adults and cannot be used by groups of staff (School Group rate seats are available for groups of 10 or more).

Concessions must be stated at the time of booking.

Conditions of Entry

Our staff are here to enhance your experience and to ensure your safety at all times. Please follow any guidance they give in relation to your and others comfort and safety. The taking of photographs, capturing of images or the use of any recording devices including mobile phones during any performance is strictly prohibited.

The Management of The Leeds Playhouse reserve the right to:

  • refuse admission to the premises and any of its venues
  • request any ticket holder to leave the venue, and take appropriate action to enforce this right
  • change the advertised arrangements of any performance in the event of illness or any cause beyond our control.
  • carry out random bag searches and request that larger bags be put in the cloakroom at a cost of 50p

Returns and refunds

If you are unable to use your tickets they can be exchanged for another performance of the same production or for a credit voucher valid for six months subject to/minus any applicable administration charges. Our exchange fee is currently £3.50 per transaction.

In order to take advantage of this service you must contact the Box Office at least 24 hours before the performance. Any decisions after 24 hours before the performance will be at the discretion of the management.

Tickets will not be refunded unless a performance is cancelled.

Book a room

Book rooms for ad hoc activities using our web booking system.

Arrangements differ depending on the type of activity and whether it is during or out of term time. Restrictions also apply during exam and graduation periods.

Book a room between 14/08/23 and 11/08/24

PLEASE NOTE – You need to use either an on-campus PC or Windows Virtual Desktop to access the web booking system.

Do not use the room booking system to book teaching activities. They won't appear on your students' timetables. This includes teaching outside core hours. Contact your school timetabler for advice.

There is no room charge for teaching activities.

One-off internal bookings

Timetabled teaching takes precedence so we can only confirm ad hoc room bookings during teaching hours (9am-6pm) in semesters 1 and 2 once the teaching timetable is confirmed in mid-September.

For one-off, internal bookings made on campus, use the  room booking system   and follow the on-screen instructions. You can currently book rooms for dates up to 11th August 2024.

Our online booking system lets anyone with a University staff username book general teaching spaces and meeting rooms, as well as some department-owned rooms (IT clusters; Business School; Civil Engineering).

  • book rooms for meetings and activities
  • find the most relevant location for your event

  • for urgent enquiries.

Conferences and external events

An event is an organised ‘activity or group of activities’ taking place in locations owned, rented or under the direct control of the University.

The process for booking rooms for event activity is determined by the type of room you wish to book, the time of year you would like to hold your event and whether you are internal or external to the University.

All external event enquiries should be directed to the Conferences Office .

Using the University's conference management service to manage your conference

Conferences can be booked by University staff or by external organisations through the  Conferences and Events team . This team has the skills and expertise to manage your event and ensure all arrangements for the conference are delivered in a highly professional way. Visit the Meet in Leeds website for details of the conference management service offered.

Core rooms are reserved by the Conferences and Events team up to the following cut-off dates:

  • 1 October for Christmas vacation
  • 1 February for Easter vacation
  • 1 May for summer vacation.

After these dates the rooms are released for general access. If you want to book a room before the cut-off date, please contact the Conference and Events team . To book a core room after the cut-off date or book general teaching space at any time, please book via the Webroom booking page .

Charges may be payable for booking core rooms and the level of the charge depends on what the room is booked for and how the booking is managed.

Booking catering and additional equipment

Catering is available through the Conferences and Events team. Please check the  catering menus and pricing . If you need media or audio-visual equipment, please check the Estates and Facilities website . To qualify for an internal rate, you'll need an internal account number when booking.

Automatic Refunds and No More Hidden Fees: D.O.T. Sets New Rules for Airlines

The Transportation Department issued new requirements on refunds when flights are canceled or delayed and on revealing “junk” fees before booking. Here’s what passengers can expect.

A blue airport screen showing extensive cancellations and delays is shown in close up with a man standing in front of it.

By Christine Chung

The Transportation Department on Wednesday announced new rules taking aim at two of the most difficult and annoying issues in air travel: obtaining refunds and encountering surprise fees late in the booking process.

“Passengers deserve to know upfront what costs they are facing and should get their money back when an airline owes them — without having to ask,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in a statement, adding that the changes would not only save passengers “time and money,” but also prevent headaches.

The department’s new rules, Mr. Buttigieg said, will hold airlines to clear and consistent standards when they cancel, delay or substantially change flights, and require automatic refunds to be issued within weeks. They will also require them to reveal all fees before a ticket is purchased.

Airlines for America , a trade group representing the country’s largest air carriers, said in a statement that its airlines “abide by and frequently exceed” D.O.T. consumer protection regulations.

Passenger advocates welcomed the new steps.

Tomasz Pawliszyn, the chief executive of AirHelp, a Berlin-based company that assists passengers with airline claims, called it a “massive step forward and huge improvement in consumer rights and protection” that brings the United States closer to global standards in passenger rights.

Here’s what we know about the D.O.T.’s new rules, which will begin to go into effect in October.

There’s now one definition for a “significant” delay.

Until now, airlines have been allowed to set their own definition for a “significant” delay and compensation has varied by carrier . Now, according to the D.O.T., there will be one standard: when departure or arrival is delayed by three hours for domestic flights and six hours for international flights.

Passengers will get prompt refunds for cancellations or significant changes for flights and delayed bags, for any reason.

When things go wrong, getting compensation from an airline has often required establishing a cumbersome paper trail or spending untold hours on the phone. Under the new rules, refunds will be automatic, without passengers having to request them. Refunds will be made in full, excepting the value of any transportation already used. Airlines and ticket agents must provide refunds in the original form of payment, whether by cash, credit card or airline miles. Refunds are due within seven days for credit card purchases and within 20 days for other payments.

Passengers with other flight disruptions, such as being downgraded to a lower service class, are also entitled to refunds.

The list of significant changes for which passengers can get their money back also includes: departure or arrival from an airport different from the one booked; connections at different airports or flights on planes that are less accessible to a person with a disability; an increase in the number of scheduled connections. Also, passengers who pay for services like Wi-Fi or seat selection that are then unavailable will be refunded any fees.

Airlines must give travel vouchers or credits to ticketed passengers unable to fly because of government restrictions or a doctor’s orders.

The vouchers or credits will be transferable and can be used for at least five years after the date they were issued.

Fees for checked baggage and modifying a reservation must be disclosed upfront.

Airlines and ticket agents are now required to display any extra fees for things like checking bags or seat selection clearly and individually before a ticket purchase. They will also need to outline the airline’s policies on baggage, cancellations and changing flights before a customer purchases a ticket.

The rules, which apply to all flights on domestic airlines and flights to and from the United States operated by foreign airlines, have varying start dates.

For example, automatic refunds must be instituted by the airlines within six months. But carriers have a year before they’re required to issue travel vouchers and credits for passengers advised by a medical professional not to fly.

Nebraska on-farm research network releases 2023 research results publication.

2023 Research Results book on top of soil

The Nebraska On-Farm Research Network (NOFRN) is placing research results into producers’ hands through its 2023 Research Results book — a publication that highlights findings from approximately 80 on-farm research studies conducted in Nebraska during the 2023 growing season.

"The research results in this book equip producers with the tools to harness local insights, enabling them to make well-informed decisions that optimize both productivity and profitability on their own operation" said Taylor Lexow, NOFRN Project Coordinator.

Studies in the 2023 Research Results book cover various topics, including crop production, fertility and soil management, non-traditional products, cover crops, crop protection and equipment. The 2023 publication, along with publications from previous years, is now available on the NOFRN’s website.

With planting season upon us, now is the time to dig deeper into agricultural practices and determine what best fits the needs of every operation. Download a copy of the 2023 Research Results book today from the NOFRN site .

For more information about the 2023 Research Results book or the NOFRN, please contact Taylor Lexow at 402-245-2222 .

About the NOFRN

The Nebraska On-Farm Research Network (NOFRN) is a program of Nebraska Extension that partners with farmers to evaluate agricultural practices and provide innovative solutions that impact farm productivity, profitability and sustainability.
