How Peroni's Contest Wants Fans To 'Live Every Moment'

The beermakers at Peroni want to send a lucky fan on vacation to Italy. Debuting in early March with a TV spot , the campaign wants fans to "live every moment," or as the commercial sings, "Viva la vie!" Described in a press release as the brand's first major "lifestyle creative" in two years, the summer promotion includes both ice-cold lager and the Peroni Passport contest which began March 14. ( Peroni also held a travel giveaway in 2021 , but we all know how much more difficult travel was at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.)

"For many people, Peroni reminds them of their travels abroad. So after years of yearning for international travel, our new creative campaign transports viewers through the sights and sounds of the Mediterranean and of course, Peroni," Joy Ghosh, Vice President of Above Premium Beer at Molson Coors Beverage Company, said in a statement. "Live Every Moment celebrates our authentic heritage and shows how anyone or any occasion can feel like la dolce vita with our Italian lager."

The Peroni Passport wants fans to do just that: live the sweet life with an Amalfi coast vacation.

An Italian holiday with Peroni

Contest details can be found on  Peroni's website,  where consumers aged 21 and up can register to win. The grand prize, as shared in the company's  press release , is $20,000, and one "lucky fan" can use the funds towards a trip to the Amalfi coast. In addition, 50 fans will win funds to upgrade or renew their passports, and another 500 fans will win the funds to purchase a Peroni 6-pack.

Sharing details on Instagram , Peroni describes, "Want a taste of la dolce vita? Enter the Peroni Passport sweepstakes for a chance to win funds to renew your passport, a 6-pack of Peroni, or a $20,000 dream trip to the Amalfi Coast. Visit link in bio now through 5/15. Salute!" 

Fans are already thrilled with the prospect of this fantastic vacation. One follower called the contest "an absolute dream trip!" while another added, "My bucket list is to have a Peroni in Italy." Fans can sign up now in hopes of a travel and fun-filled 2022.

The company is offering $20,000 cash towards an epic holiday in the European country along the Mediterranean coastline. A trip like this deserves some fabulous ‘fits, so Peroni is also throwing in gift cards to purchase an Italian designer wardrobe and luxury luggage set to transport your new haul in style.

The contest is a celebration of the Italian border reopening to U.S. visitors. Just last week it was announced that Italy is reopening its borders to American leisure travelers on Delta’s COVID-tested flights starting May 16th.

Unfortunately, only one can win the grand prize, but not everyone is going home empty-handed. According to Peroni, there is also an opportunity for 400 individuals to win a six-pack of beer, which will be awarded via a $10 Visa gift card. That equates to one six-pack for each day the border was closed to U.S. citizens.

Peroni kicks off Italian holiday on-pack competition

Beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro is kicking off an on-pack competition across its multi-pack formats, offering shoppers the chance to win a five-star holiday.

The “Win the Ultimate Amalfi Experience” competition is running until 31 December across Peroni Nastro Azzuro four-pack, Peroni Libera four-pack, Peroni Gluten Free four-pack, Peroni Nastro Azzurro 12-pack and Peroni Nastro Azzurro 18-pack.

Shoppers who enter will be in with a chance of winning a luxury five-star two-night trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy for two adults, as well as 2,000 runner-up prizes of branded designer bottle openers.

The brand said the prize taps into consumers who are keen for travel post-Covid.

Peroni Nastro Azzuro is back on the airwaves in the U.S., kicking off its first new TV campaign in two years.

The Italian import, which has nearly doubled its volume sales between 2018 and 2021, according to IRI, launches its new campaign March 14. The lively spot aims to transport people to the Italian coast, says Cara Lauritzen, senior marketing manager for Peroni.

“Peroni’s all about living with the passion and flair of la dolce vita . We want people to embrace the mindset of the Italian lifestyle when they think of Peroni,” she says.

Filmed in Positano, a cliffside village on Italy’s Amalfi coast, the new spot shows life being well-lived against a picturesque backdrop. Set to bouncy music, the video starts with a group of friends sailing along the coast, then hanging at a busy bar where the bartenders are performers as much as servers. Finally, the party moves to the streets, where they dance, Peroni in hand. The spot ends encouraging consumers to “Live Every Moment.”

Airing on TV in select markets, including Los Angeles, Miami and New York, the ad will also broadcast across digital channels and include complementary out-of-home and retail components.

Along with the new campaign, Peroni is launching a sweepstakes where one legal-age drinker could win $20,000 to upgrade to their next trip to Italy. Consumers can sign up for a chance to win by visiting PeroniPassport.com . Prizes also include funds toward a six-pack of Peroni, or expedited passport fees, covered by Peroni.

Peroni has posted impressive growth in recent years, growing dollar sales by 88% and volume sales by 93% since 2018, according to IRI.

Over the four weeks ending Feb. 20, it’s far outpaced its two main competitors in the U.S. market, Stella Artois and Heineken. Peroni has grown dollar sales by more than 9%, while its competitors have fallen, IRI data show. Additionally, Peroni’s sales velocity grew more than 27% in 2021, according to IRI, while Stella grew 3.4% and Heineken’s velocity fell nearly 20%.

As consumers have turned toward more premium beers, Peroni has cultivated its identity as an above-premium import. The last year has seen it aligning with exclusive, Mediterranean-inspired Secret Supper events and partnering with handcrafted Italian shoemaker M.Gemi, which Lauritzen says has helped drive growth.

“While some of our competitors are produced in the United States, Peroni has stayed true to its Italian roots and continues to be brewed exclusively in its home country. It’s grown significantly in the last few years, and we’re excited to continue driving that momentum with the new campaign,” Lauritzen says. “Peroni’s an excellent beer, and people love it after they try it. This campaign will get it in more consumers’ hands.”

While total European Imports stayed essentially flat at +0.1% in 2021, Peroni’s off-premise velocities grew 27.9%, outshining the category. Year to date, Peroni has also increased its dollar sales by 9% while the remainder of the category has fallen according to IRI multi-outlet and convenience data.

In conjunction with the launch of its new creative campaign, Peroni is helping fans make their wanderlust a reality with the Peroni Passport, an opportunity to win passport renewal upgrades and a dream trip to the Amalfi Coast where the “Live Every Moment” campaign was filmed. One lucky fan will win $20K to upgrade their next trip to the Amalfi Coast, while an additional 50 fans will win the funds to renew their passport ahead of future travels. • Locate the unique code on the inside your pack.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ENTER?

There is no limit on the number of entries you can submit, provided you only enter once per Qualifying Purchase and per unique code. Each entry must be submitted separately in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

WHAT IS THE MAJOR PRIZE?

There is 1 trip for you and 1 adult companion available to be won. The trip is valued at up to $39,000 and includes the following:

• Return economy airfares (including airfare taxes) from your nearest Australian capital city to Milan and transfers between Milan airport and the accommodation in Milan;
• 3 day Peroni hospitality tickets to attend the Italian Grand Prix and transfers to and from accommodation and the race track each day;
• Return first class train transfers (including taxes) from Milan to Naples and return private transfers from Naples to Positano;
• 6 nights accommodation in a minimum 4 star hotel (as determined by the Promoter); and
• breakfast daily at accommodation.

If you are the lucky winner, you can bring one adult companion with you.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I’VE WON THE MAJOR PRIZE?

The Major Prize winner will be notified by phone and by email within two days of the draw, which will be held at 5pm (AEDT) on 22/05/2023.
