“This is to share our recent Tokyo tour experience. Our trip was unplanned knowing that visiting Japan will require a visa which most would consider a tedious process. Thanks to UHI and partner agencies particularly TravelPros for promoting “GUARANTEED TOURIST VISA, NO FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS NEEDED” that allow Filipinos to visit a favorite destination. Travel Pros staff at SM Fairview provided the initial information regarding my inquiry. They were all helpful and accomodating to their clients. I commend Christine for her extra mile customer service that enabled us to join the May 16 to 19 group. It was then less than a month for us to prepare but we were able to do it.

On May 12, they gathered tour joiners for lunch in a restaurant in Makati for a pre departure briefing. It gave us the opportunity for questions and clarifications. Likewise had a chance to meet other joiners and our tour leaders from the agency. This made our entire tour organized and fulfilling.

Our experienced with JAL (for our group) was great. Food, flight stewards and services were above expectations. Shinjuku Washington Hotel made our stay in Japan a real Wow! Buffet breakfast was really good and there are other restaurants to choose from within the hotel as alternative. Room is not that big but adequate enough, room service, staff, cleanliness and amenities made our stay pleasant. Lunch and dinner included in the package in local restaurants were good as well although some joiners were not satisfied on our last dinner which they served ramen. For me, its okay since they could have thought of it for variation of food.

Our Japanese tour guide and tour leaders coordinated themselves well making sure that whats in the itenerary are followed. Though we didn’t get the chance to try their local train as specified in the flyer instead rode a bus to go from one place to another. A large group like ours may be the reason for some changes. Anyway, not a big deal for not able to experience the train ride.

The experience was awesome in general and I definitely recommend this to first time visitors to Japan. The tour cost of 988usd can be considered a little expensive but my take on this is that….its worth it! If I am to rate my overall Japan tour experience in a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 being the highest, I give it a 9.

We ‘ve got the 3 days expedition with Tribe Banua’s Mike team . We sailed from El Nido to Coron passing through breathtaking islands. You see better spots respect to the usual island hopping tours, cleaner and emptier , but you have to be ready for adventure. Food by Rowee was truly delicious and abundant , the crew was knowledgeable, fun and sweet. Highly recommended

Guide to the Philippines has really helped me to get around Palawan, and always making sure if I was comfortable. That was really nice! Hotels -Hue hotel was perfect! Very nice and comfortable, and great styling. The food was super, and the staff nice. The breakfast options were amazing!!! -For the budget option i was supposed to have another hotel, but because it was so busy, I had to switch to Marianne hotel. A hotel that is not finished yet, and still under construction, so no pool and quite some noise and building site smells. Room was all right, but the cleaning could have been better (water stains on mirror and such). Breakfast was not so good, the second day I even chose to have it somewhere else. Transport The transport was arranged perfectly! Nice drivers and on time. Tours - underground river was amazing! Otherworldly! We were lucky because of the weather, other ones were canceled. Lunch was ok. Apparently people could choose an add on to this tour, and go ziplining. Some chose to do this, resulting in having to wait for quite a while. Could have done without that, -honda bay tour was super! The lunch they prepared was absolutely lovely, and the guide took well care of us. We saw some lovely islands and beautiful beaches! Good atmosphere! - Tour C El Nido : i was supposed to be on another tour but in all confusion, i ender up on this one. It was too crowded, and the boat with 30 capacity had 43 tourists on it. After asking, they had to get extra life jackets from another boat. It was not comfortable with so many people on the boat and on the islands. It really was mass tourism, but at least I saw the beautiful nature! All in all, I am very happy I had the help of Guide to the Philippines and would definitely book again! But no more El Nido! Thank you!

Notice of itinerary change arrived the day before our tour started! Despite having booked and paid 2 months previous, island flights had not been booked. This meant two boat tours on successive days, no rest day and first destination cut short. Too long at the following hotel ( which had a bad drain smell) and a late flight to Manila , this meant hanging around and then arriving 8pm in the dark. Extremely unprofessional. We asked for assistance to book four days following our island tour, a reservation was made and cancelled on our way back to Manila, we made our own reservation. The on site agents were polite and punctual. The weather was nice.

This forum is mainly for DIY travellers.

It’s very easy to plan it yourself.

Where does it say in the forum that it’s for DIY travelers? I am aware I can plan it myself. That was not my question.

I agree with Tommo this forum is mainly frequented by DiYers and I would be gobsmacked if you got a recommendation for a third party travel agency. I have not seen one mentioned in an epoch here and those were mentioned (mainly pre-pandemic) were because something had hone wrong.

DjYing is really easy once you have pinned down what you want to and where you want to go.

It doesnt say that but those enquiring on this forum usually ask questions about planning their own trip. Those who would have booked via a travel agency would normally not ask many questions as their agent would look after all the arrangements for them.

I just did a quick google search and came up with a few examples. This is not a recommendation but some suggestions for what you are looking for and for you to do more research.

I also have never seen a recommendation from members on this forum for a travel agency and I have been frequenting this forum for many years now.

Thank you all for your input and recommendations. I did find an agency but I am also exploring the option of organizing everything myself. I'm sure I will be back again for feedback as I continue planning. Thanks again.

I can attest to everything being said in this Topic, if you attempt to use any agency to plan your trip with, you are more than likely going to be ripped off, because they over inflate the price of every facet of your trip (add on their fees etc) and there have been thousands of tourists who were left stranded by these tour operators, and if it happens, you will never be able to contact them for help.

Just be aware that the Philippines can be a challenge to travel through, so patience will be needed at times.

Also be aware that booking a set holiday itinerary, you may not get to see a lot of things that you otherwise might if you plan it yourself.

Without wishing to be egotistical, I would say the (local) knowledge base on the Philippines here, from the regular posters will be far better and a lot more nuanced than the average travel agent can ever hope to give. But, it does require some leg work by the poster, but the benefit can be huge and the experience significantly better. The good TAs that specialise in the Phils are few and far between for reasons explained up thread and because that lot of tourism is domestic from within the country.

In my opinion the Philippies is an undiscovered gem. If you DIY it will be cheaper and you will get "on the gound" recommendations of members who are living there or travelled there frequently, not some agency sitting in an office.

Feel free to ask away but also ensure you do adequate research beforehand.
