You spend your day trailing some of the world’s most iconic species or at elegant pool sides. You share a celebratory drink as the sun sets behind a lone acacia on the open plains, igniting the sky with a kaleidoscope of colors. Romantic escapes, epic landscapes, and extraordinary wildlife – this is what the best African safaris for couples can offer. So stay tuned to discover the best African safaris for couples to book right now.

uganda

When it comes to honeymoon picks, extra special anniversary celebrations, or just a much-needed couple’s retreat to reconnect away from everyday life, the ‘pearl of Africa’ has to be right up there.

As one of the safest countries in Africa , but with much lower visitor numbers than neighboring Kenya, the nation of Uganda undoubtedly boasts some of the best African safaris for couples. Although its impressive array of attractions may not be quite so well known as the Maasai Mara or Serengeti, that doesn’t mean they’re easy to ignore. Instead, you can discover the wonders of this east African nation before the rest of the world does!

What’s more, having enticed in the know safari goers since the 1920s and 30s, Uganda has an impressive array of places to stay. Here you’ll find everything from basic campsites to luxurious lodges, with the shores of Lake Victoria a particular favorite outside of the country’s long list of national parks.

What to Expect from Uganda Safaris

best-time-to-visit-uganda

Of all our safari destinations, Uganda safaris are perhaps the most difficult to define. This is mainly because safaris in the country span a whole spectrum of wondrous sights. For instance, first time safari goers are sure to consider the best African safaris for couples to include the savannah grasslands of Kidepo Valley National Park.

Few other destinations offer such an authentic safari experience, with prowling lions joined by tree-dwelling leopards, wallowing hippos, trumpeting elephant herds and no end of antelope species.

Further south, the location of Queen Elizabeth National Park is unbeatable. Lining the southern shores of Lake George in the Great Rift Valley, its range of habitats switch from grassland savannah to volcanic craters. A home to four of the Big Five species (lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo), it is unusual for a traditional safari destination in also having a healthy population of chimpanzees.

Gorillas in the Mist

best-time-to-gorilla-trekking-4

A trek through thick jungle may not sound like an option for the best African safaris for couples. However, you couldn’t be more wrong. Not only are gorilla trekking tours incredibly exclusive, with only a limited number of permits issued each day, but they are an experience which couples are sure to reminisce over for many years to come.

Uganda has two options when it comes to trekking in search of mountain gorillas – of which there are only around 880 individual animals in the wild. These are Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

While you will have to share your trek with a handful of other visitors (groups are usually around eight people but can be much lower outside of peak season) this takes nothing away from the romance and beauty of encountering these majestic creatures.

Cuddle Together on a Boat Trip Like No Other

boat-trip

Boat trips are another great way of spending time with a loved one. When it comes to the top destinations for a boat trip in Uganda, there’s only one which springs to mind – Murchison Falls National Park.

Powering along the River Nile, small boats allow couples to get up close to the park’s water-loving wildlife but also get their best views of Murchison Falls themselves. So as well as encountering hippo, Nile crocodile and elephants among other species, you’ll get to experience the mighty Nile squeezed through Fajao Gorge – just seven meters wide!

The expedition can be made even more special by opting for an afternoon boat departure, which should have you floating effortless on the Nile’s waters as the sun blazes red and orange as it heads towards the horizon.

Alternatively, why not consider a ride across Africa’s largest body of fresh water – Lake Victoria? Its succession of islands make for a huge contrast to the open plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park and getting to them is nothing if not romantic either.

Best African Safaris For Couples: When To Go

tanzania

The most popular months to undertake the best African safaris for couples are the months corresponding with Uganda’s two dry seasons. These last from December to February (covering both Christmas and St Valentine’s Day) and June through to August (useful for anyone who can only travel during the long school summer holidays).

Travel to Uganda during the green season, and it’s entirely possible that you bump into almost no other tourists. Lasting from roughly March until May and September to the beginning of December, travel can be a little more complicated due to weather conditions. However, there are still plenty of breaks in the cloud to ensure a trip at these times of year are worth it all the same.

For a full month by month Uganda breakdown, we’ve drawn on our years of experience in the country to create a guide to the best time to visit Uganda . While exploring our website, be sure to also read our pre-trip information so you can get the absolute most out of your travels in Africa’s pearl.

Uganda – the Ideal Safari Destination for Couples

Uganda’s wealth of differing attractions makes it the number one choice for couples looking to go on safari. Authentic game drives can be had at Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kidepo Valley National Park. Romantic boat trips can be enjoyed on the Nile beside Murchison Falls, while trekking in search of mountain gorillas is sure to cement any relationship. Add to this the fact Uganda is one of the safest countries in Africa for visitors, and you have the perfect destination!

The Best African Safaris For Couples: (Experiences + Destinations)

Best African Safaris For Couples. Here are my Top African Bucket List Experiences for Couples. There are few destinations as romantic as Africa.

Africa is one of the most romantic places on earth. The far mountains, which are marching away in tones of navy and purple, are framed by the vast blue sky that curves down to golden plains that roll to the horizon. Africa arouses your senses with its wild sage aroma, fish eagle’s call, and heart-pounding leopard sightings. The nights are pleasantly cold and the days are gloriously hot. A premier safari lodge is difficult to top when it comes to great cuisine or opulent luxury. African friendliness is warm and genuine.

Look no further if you and your travel companion are seeking an environment rich in romance and adventure, an amazing honeymoon, or one last trip before you become a family traveler. The following are my top 5 African Safaris For Couples and Experiences .

The Top African Safaris For Couples

#1 east africa’s mara, crater & serengeti migration.

Over the course of eight nights, this iconic East African trip visits Kenya’s and Tanzania’s four most renowned game reserves. Enjoy the expansive grasslands of Kenya’s Masai Mara , the lions that can scale trees in Tanzania’s Lake Manyara, the amazing Ngorongoro Crater , and the crowded Serengeti plains.

The most memorable parts of a couple’s trip are the little things. This journey immerses you in a “Out of Africa” environment, pampers you with world-class service, and exhilarates you with an abundance of wildlife. You’ll bring back memories of the warm African sun caressing your skin, the aroma of wild basil, and the low, savage roar of a lion at dusk. On your East Africa safari , you and your group saw all of this and more.

#2 Uganda Fly-in Gorillas, Chimps & Wildlife

On this seven-day journey, you’ll enter Uganda’s beautiful rainforests, which are home to the critically endangered mountain gorilla. Experience true gorilla trekking in Uganda ‘s Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest . You’ll also have the chance to look for unique birds or golden monkeys.

A gorilla walk is a remarkable experience; after hiking through the dense woods for several hours, your guide will let you know the gorillas have arrived. You’ll have the chance to spend up to an hour watching them in their natural environment as they feed, eat, and sleep. Children are frequently quite interested and may even approach. Keep motionless and be mindful of the wildlife and surrounding area.

Anyone traveling to Africa should prioritize this life-altering experience, and if you can combine it with accommodations in plush, upscale lodges, you’ll want to return time and time again.

#3 Tanzania’s Tarangire, Crater & Serengeti

This nine-day, the jam-packed itinerary is a fitting tribute to Tanzania’s long tradition of safari travel. Tanzania is located in East Africa. Your journey begins at Arusha Coffee Lodge, which is also home to some of the best coffee farms in the nation. It is located at the entrance to the northern Serengeti grasslands. Prepare to enjoy Oliver’s Camp in Tarangire National Park ‘s early mornings and late nights by the crackling fire.

You will proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater , one of the African locations with the greatest concentration of game, following the excitement of a walking safari and night drives in Tarangire. Gibb’s Farm is where you call home, and a game drive in the crater is probably going to be one of the pleasures of your trip.

From Ngorongoro, visitors can continue on to Serengeti National Park , another famous landmark. Before flying back to Arusha and then home, you will spend your final three nights at Sayari Camp, where you will don your boots for an exhilarating walking safari.

#4 Luxury Botswana Wilderness Honeymoon

Discover the timeless charm of the Okavango Delta in Botswana and the fabled Savuti in Chobe National Park. Botswana consistently ranks among the Top Ten African travel destinations on bucket lists, and for good reason. The government has promoted fewer visitors at greater charges per person since the 1960s. This entails opulent lodges that accommodate a small average of 24 people in a huge area of pristine nature. Your guarantee that there won’t be a backup of vehicles at each leopard sighting.

The most memorable travel experiences are frequently the most straightforward ones, such as when two people are sitting next to each other in the stillness of a blazing sunset and toasting to each other and the breathtaking beauty all around them.

#5 Romantic Kruger, Zimbabwe & Mozambique

Over the course of 12 days, you’ll visit Singita lodges in two top safari locations: the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve in South Africa and the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in Zimbabwe. Then, you’ll be whisked away to Mozambique’s opulent Azura Boutique Hotel, which is located on a private island in the Bazaruto Archipelago. Big game thrills, magnificent settings, extremely fine dining, and a healthy dose of delightful relaxation are all hallmarks of this safari.

Take stunning pictures throughout your vacation to capture unforgettable experiences. Be awestruck by the sight of a leopard lounging carefreely in a tree, his recognizable coat offering nearly flawless concealment. Float idly above a thriving coral reef aquarium and stroll along picture-perfect beaches holding hands.

African Safari Tour in Serengeti National Park - Tanzania

Best African Safaris for Couples

When thinking of embarking on a safari, we have no doubts that the African continent springs to mind. Africa is, indeed, the birthplace of safari. Even the very word ‘safari’ is Swahili (the main language of East Africa) for ‘journey’.

Not only do safaris ignite a spark of adventure, but they’re also the perfect activity for couples looking for a romantic escape to the wilderness.

Eating a candlelit dinner in the middle of the bush or sitting around a campfire reminiscing over the day's adventures are all part of the safari experience.

In this article, we will delve into some of the best safari destinations in Africa for couples so you can plan the perfect couples getaway this year. We outline the country you should visit, a proposed popular safari route in that country, and give our recommendation of the best-organised safari tour for couples in each destination.

We’ve split the article between 7 different countries, with each bringing something unique to the African Safari landscape.

Whether it’s encountering endangered primates in the jungle or witnessing the great migration over the plains of Africa, this list of the best African Safari Tours for couples is guaranteed to inspire your romantic couples safari .

Good to know: we have provided our recommendations for the best safari tour for couples in each country outlined in this list. For this, we have recommended a safari through TourRadar . They are our favourite way to book group/private tours. Ben booked a safari in Southern Africa in 2018 through TourRadar , and we recently returned from the ‘Volcano Trail: Waves & Local Ways’ tour through Central America, again booked through TourRadar.

Masai Mara Reserve - Kenya - African Safari Tour

Hot Air Balloon Ride over the Masai Mara Reserve

One of the world’s most renowned safari destinations, Kenya is a popular choice for couples embarking on their first-ever safari.

Home to the famous Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos) and 23 national parks, there are a number of safari routes that you can take throughout Kenya.

Thanks to its location, bordering Tanzania, it’s a very popular choice to combine the two countries for a longer safari trip .

Kenya is extremely rich in wildlife! Not only does it house the Big Five, but there are also zebras ( a lot of zebras!), wildebeest, wild dogs, eagles, crocodiles, impalas, and so much more.

You certainly won’t go very long without spotting some amazing wildlife in Kenya during your couples’ safari.

Popular Safari Hotspots in Kenya

Tsavo West National Park - Amboseli National Park - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara National Reserve

A particularly popular safari route in Kenya brings you to Kenya’s most popular Southern parks, including the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.

Begin in the south at Tsavo West National Park - a great location to try to catch a glimpse of rhinos in the wild - and from there, head west to the stunning Amboseli National Park , famous for its large herd of elephants.

Amboseli is perhaps one of the more beautiful parks in Kenya, sitting under the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.

From Amoseli, you can then travel through Nairobi, Kenya’s bustling capital, although you won’t stop here. Instead, make your way northwest to Lake Nakuru . This park is known for its huge flocks of vibrant pink flamingos, which are pink in colour due to their algae diet.

Lake Nakuru is a wonderful area for bird watchers; pelicans, cuckoos, and eagles all call this lake home. It’s also one of the best places to see both white and black rhinos, as it houses a rhino sanctuary.

The final stop is also Kenya's most famous safari destination, the Masai Mara National Reserve . This is one of the best places in Africa to view big cats!

The ecosystem in the park, which hosts a staggering 90 species of mammals, has been classed as a world wonder. If you time your visit right between July and October, you may even catch the unbelievable great wildebeest migration.

Fun Fact: Ben visited Tsavo East National Park in Kenya when he was 8 years old and spotted Lions, Giraffes, Elephants, Wildebeest, and much more!

2. South Africa

african safari for couples

Lions - Kruger National Park - South Africa

South Africa is without a doubt one of the most popular destinations in Africa for a safari, and thankfully, many of the best African safaris for couples can be found in South Africa too.

In addition to the amazing wildlife and landscapes, South Africa is known for its very forward-thinking, eco-conscious safari lodgings and hotels. These promise to offer a romantic experience for couples through outdoor dining beneath the stars and exquisite rooms built in harmony with the surrounding nature.

It’s difficult to imagine a more romantic couples safari destination than South Africa.

Popular Safari Hotspots in South Africa

Kruger National Park - Madikwe Game Reserve

While there are many private reserves that offer safaris, a particularly popular place in South Africa is the famous Kruger National Park , spanning two of the country’s provinces.

Kruger has a total area of 19,455 km2, making it one of the largest national parks in Africa. The landscapes of the park are vast and diverse. There is dense Bushveld (subtropical woodlands) as well as hills and lowlands.

All of this is easily accessed by miles of paved roads, making it one of the easiest parks in Africa to navigate and one of the most convenient National Parks for an African Safari Tour for Couples.

Due to Kruger’s vast size, it is recommended to spend a minimum of 3-4 days embarking on drives through different areas of the park. There’s so much to see, you could easily spend a couple of weeks here!

For the best animal safari spotting, stick to the central area of the park around the Sabie River or towards the Balule Game Reserve , where leopards and rhinos can often be found.

An alternative to Kruger is Madikwe Game Reserve , found next to South Africa’s Northern border with Botswana - the Big Five are particularly active in this, and it’s also a great place for avid bird watchers.

Victoria Falls - Zambia - African Safari

Victoria Falls - taken by Ben in 2018 while volunteering in Zambia

Often overlooked in favour of more famous destinations such as Kenya and South Africa, Zambia is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to great african safari destinations for couples.

Zambia, located in southern Africa, is a landlocked country bordering seven countries, including Tanzania to the northwest and a small stretch of Namibia to the south.

Beyond safari, one of the biggest reasons to visit the country is because it is home to the epic Victoria Falls (the falls actually split the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe).

There are few things more romantic than standing at one of the viewpoints overlooking the majestic falls and listening to the water crashing into the mighty Zambezi River below.

Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and, along with the other rivers and waterways, puts Zambia near the top of the list for African countries with the most water.

This means that during a safari adventure in Zambia, you can experience canoeing down rivers or even staying on your very own private houseboat - making it a truly diverse and romantic couples safari destination.

Popular Safari Hotspots in Zambia

Victoria Falls - Lower Zambezi National Park - South Luangwa National Park

The ideal safari route in Zambia starts and ends at Victoria Falls . From here, you can make your way to Lower Zambezi National Park , which lies close to the borders with Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

This park is known for its hilly terrain and is an incredibly raw, untouched, and rugged reserve. There is a large elephant population in Lower Zambezi National Park, as well as lions, leopards, buffaloes, and more.

A third park to visit on your safari route through Zambia is South Luangwa National Park . As it sits at the far Eastern end of the Great African Rift Valley, the park has grassy lowlands, wooded terrain, and a major river running directly through it - where crocodiles and hippos are often spotted!

All of this creates ample opportunity to spot wildlife - in fact, South Luangwa National Park  has one of the highest concentrations of game in all of Africa!

Fun fact: Ben volunteered in Zambia in 2018 and went on a number of game drives throughout the country. His favourite was Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park which, despite not being home to lions, provided the chance to witness an array of African wildlife without another soul to be seen on safari. Volunteering in Zambia was an incredible experience and is one of our recommended Gap year ideas for couples .

Best Safari Tour for Couples in Zambia

Zambezi Canoe Safari by Exodus Travels

Arguably the most adventurous African safari tour for couples on our list, the Zambezi Canoe Safari is a thrilling adventure along the mighty Zambezi River.

Of course, the main highlight of this tour is canoeing down the river from Lusaka to the Lower Zambezi National Park, but there are daily game walks and drives along the route to maximise your chances of seeing wildlife.

Worth noting: this is one of the rare safari routes in Zambia that doesn’t include Victoria Falls, so we recommend adding a few days to the beginning/end of this itinerary to visit Livingstone and the mighty Victoria Falls.

Route: Lusaka - Chiawa Game Area - Lower Zambezi National Park

Wildlife highlights: Elephants, Giraffe, Buffalo, Lions

Length of Safari Tour: 8 days, beginning and ending in Lusaka

Best time to go: June - October

4. Tanzania

Wildebeest Migration - Tanzania - Safari for Couples

Great Wildebeest Migration - Tanzania

Tanzania is perhaps the most popular country to go on safari in Africa. From the sprawling plains of the Serengeti to the magical Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania is a country of natural wonder. You can easily spend 7-10 days seeing all of the different parts of Tanzania .

Tanzania sits on the east coast of Africa, just south of Kenya. It has a long stretch of coastline and is home to the roof of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania is a diverse country, not only in terms of wildlife but in terms of culture too, housing over 120 different tribes - it is home to the most languages of any African country.

Popular Safari Hotspots in Tanzania

Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

The three best parks to visit in Tanzania are packed together in the country’s north. Start your tour in Tarangire National Park, famous for its huge herds of elephants , often hundreds of members strong.

The dense foliage makes Tarangire a phenomenal park for birdwatchers. You can see storks, starlings, herons, hoopoes, brown parrots, and plenty more.

The best time to visit Tarangire is during the dry season (May to October) when herds of herbivores pass through the park on their annual migration. The only water remaining is usually in the park's river, so it attracts a diverse amount of animal life.

The next stop is Ngorongoro Crater, the most unique safari destination in Tanzania . The crater itself is one of the largest and most intact craters in the world, created when a volcano collapsed into itself, likely around 2.5 million years ago.

It is a vast green landscape which is impressive in and of itself. Elephants, lions, hyenas, impalas, warthogs, and more mammal species all live in the crater, but the highlight is definitely the endangered black rhino.

The final stop in Tanzania is the famous Serengeti National Park . The great wildebeest migration can be found here throughout most of the year. If you’d like to try to catch a glimpse of the river crossing, where the wildebeest risk their lives crossing crocodile-infested waters, visit between mid-August and mid-September.

The Serengeti is one of the most romantic locations in Africa and the perfect place to enjoy a bush dinner surrounded by incredible nature.

Namibia is on the west coast of the continent, just north of South Africa. A safari in Namibia is a distinctly different experience from other countries on this list, as it is one of the driest countries in the world.

The Namib Desert comprises more than 30% of Namibia and is one of the oldest deserts in the world and certainly one of the most unique landscapes on the planet too.

african safari for couples

Zebras - Namibia

Popular Safari Hotspots in Namibia

Etosha National Park - Damaraland - Skeleton Coast - Sossusvlei

Kick-start your safari in Namibia with a visit to Etosha National Park . Etosha is named after the Etosha salt pan, which takes up the majority of the park.

The name Etosha translates to ‘great white area’, which is often mistaken for a snow-covered landscape instead of the savanna desert it actually is.

With dry, arid land all around you, this is one of the few oases in Namibia, making it a haven for wildlife. You will often see cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, and the rare black-faced impala.

To the southwest is the equally impressive Damaraland . This area is full of rugged, otherworldly landscapes and undulating terrain full of ancient rock formations.

You can see amazing natural formations such as the Vingerklip, which is a 35-metre-high rock formation atop a hill. Damaraland is a great area to take a romantic hike as well as enjoy a spot of bouldering.

In terms of wildlife, desert-dwelling mammals such as oryx (sometimes referred to as gemsbok), black-backed jackals and rock hyraxes can be found in abundance. Most sought-after, however, are the majestic desert elephants that migrate through the area.

After marvelling at Damaraland, pay a visit to the Skeleton Coast , an eerie coastline where the desert meets the sea that has famously claimed numerous ships and lives.

In the present day, you can visit safely by land, but hundreds of shipwrecks can still be found here, partly swallowed by the desert, as well as Cape Cross seals.

A final popular safari destination in Namibia is Sossusvlei . Found in the heart of the Namib desert, this area is perhaps best known for its breathtaking sand dunes.

It’s hard to imagine how any animal can call this desolate area home, and yet, remarkably, they do. Some of the animals you may see between the dunes are foxes, hyenas, oryx, porcupines and jackals.

Gorillas in Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest - Uganda

Uganda is a wonderful and fascinating landlocked nation in Central Africa. Often referred to as the pearl of Africa, the country has a diverse tribal culture with more than 50 different tribes calling the land home.

The Ugandan people are well known for their welcoming generosity, something you are sure to experience during a romantic couples safari in Uganda.

In terms of wildlife, the country is particularly exciting as it’s one of only 3 countries where you can see the infamous mountain gorillas.

Popular Safari Hotspots in Uganda

Bwindi Forest Reserve - Kibale National Park - Murchison Falls National Park

Many tourists begin in Bwindi Forest Reserve , where you can go trekking to see the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural jungle habitats.

Even though the gorillas are the obvious attraction here, the forest itself is spectacular. It is a UNESCO world heritage site with more than 200 different species of trees.

Further North you’ll find Kibale National Park - home to 13 different species of primates.

This includes chimpanzees, and several monkey species such as the blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, mangabey, and baboons.

Finally, continuing north is Murchison Falls National Park - the largest park in the country. The waterfall here (Murchison Falls) is regarded as the most powerful waterfall in the world.

Away from the Falls, in the park you can spot elephants, lions, leopards, crocodiles, giraffes, rhinos, and more.

Good to know: safaris in general can be quite expensive. This, in part, is due to the costs associated with protecting the animals you’re visiting. This is especially true when trekking to see Gorillas in Uganda. It is not unusual to pay £1500/$1900 for a 3-day Gorilla Trekking experience in Uganda.

Leopard relaxing in a tree in the Okavango Delta - Botswana

Botswana is one of the most beautiful countries on Earth. It is home to diverse landscapes, an incredible array of wildlife and the awe-inspiring Okavango Delta - a safari adventure goldmine!

While it is a popular safari destination, it’s pretty easy to avoid crowds in Botswana as there are strict limits on annual tourist numbers and a whopping 45% of the country’s land is reserved for wildlife, making it a sparsely populated country where the animals can roam wild.

Popular Safari Hotspots in Botswana

Moremi Game Reserve - Okavango Delta - Chobe National Park

A popular starting point for many safari tours for couples in Botswana is Moremi Game Reserve , the oldest protected area along the Okavango Delta , where you can see the rare African wild dog.

From there, it is worth considering exploring the Okavango Delta - the largest inland river delta in the world.

It is a wild and untouched landscape and is a great destination to experience a boat safari to try and find hippos and crocodiles.

Going out in the evening across the Okavango Delta can offer a particularly romantic safari experience for couples. Enjoy a cocktail as you whizz along the waterways flanked by long grasses - if you’re lucky, you may even see elephants having a drink at the side of the river.

Finally, head northeast to explore Chobe National Park - which is very close to Victoria Falls. Similar to the Okavango Delta, this park is lush and green and full of wetlands. Here, you will find a massive elephant population as well as large prides of lions and vast buffalo herds.

While there are game drive opportunities at Chobe National Park, it is also another great place to go on a boat cruise. We recommend spending a night on a houseboat for a truly unforgettable experience.

Botswana Wildlife Safari by Explore!

So we know this African safari tour doesn’t exclusively visit Botswana, but we figured that an additional stopover in Namibia and Victoria Falls (Zambia) wouldn’t be a bad thing. Right?

On this epic 2-week adventure, you’ll spend a night in the heart of the Okavango Delta, explore some of Botswana’s finest game reserves, and witness herds of elephants and prides of lions in their natural habitat.

The standout experiences of the Botswana Wildlife Safari would have to be the Houseboat stay on the Okavango River and the optional (highly recommended!) river cruise in Chobe National Park.

Wildlife highlights: Lions, Elephants, Antelope, Leopards, Giraffes

Tips for Choosing Your African Safari Tour for Couples

There is a lot to think about when choosing your safari destination. One of the main considerations is often cost, as experiencing a safari is not the cheapest thing to do.

Transportation, accommodation, meals, park entries, and guides all add up. With that being said, some countries have lower costs than others. For a more budget safari option, we suggest looking to South Africa or Namibia .

How you wish to get around can also affect which country you choose. For some destinations, such as Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, self-drive safaris can be a great option .

However, in central countries such as Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, booking yourself on a tour with a driver is the better option due to road conditions and restrictions in national parks.

Our client Patricia Little had this to say about her visit to Amalinda back in August:

“On to Amalinda — the highlight of my trip. I want to go back! You gave me such good advice about staying here and staying longer. I loved every bit of it. My guide Brightwell and I had a blast, climbing over the hills, seeing rhino on a walk (OMG!), spending quiet times with the ancestors as we explored the San rock paintings, visiting villagers and having an impromptu lesson in thatch cutting from some highly-amused women. Phil, Sharon and the team were super responsive. I am all ready to go back in January and already planning my next trip!”

Romantic Safari - Tswalu The Motse

Tswalu Kalahari is one of Africa’s most exclusive reserves

To get a sense of the safari experience here, take a look at safari consultant Elena Theodosiou’s trip . Or you can read an excerpt of the glowing review David & Katrina McIntyre gave us:

“This is our third trip to Africa. But after 5 nights at Tswalu The Motse , this is the first time we’ve felt compelled to write a letter such as this. Our guide OB was incredible, but it was the subtle things and just sheer thoughtfulness that set him apart. The Kleinjan restaurant was a combination of theater, fine food and wine, and incredible service. It was like nothing we’ve seen in our travels. The entire staff not only excels in their profession, but brings an unending happiness and energy to everything they say and do.  There was deep thoughtfulness in everything we saw, touched and experienced. We take home with us a tiny glass vial of red Kalahari sand that was thoughtfully gifted to us by the Tswalu team.”

Though Kwara offers day and night game drives, the focus is water activities, like mokoros (dugout canoes) or motor boating. Imagine watching an elephant comes down to the river to drink right in front of you!

“It was an amazing trip! Botswana was fantastic. It was the best game viewing we have had. So many cats! Saw a leopard take down a baby impala. Quite a sight. Lots of lions and cheetahs, as well as elephants, giraffes, hippos etc. The accommodations were wonderful. When we got to Kwara and saw our “tent”, it was amazing. Everyone we talked to there were amazed with the tents. Some said it was like Four Seasons in the middle of nowhere. The staff was so friendly and helpful. And, the guides were great at finding the game and explaining it all to us… I don’t think the entire trip could have been any better than it was. And, I’m not surprised. Every safari you have arranged for us has been wonderful. Thanks so much for a trip of a lifetime. Barry and Candy Spector”

Private dining along the Indian Ocean coastline

And with 55 bungalows, suites and villas, it’s one of the smaller, more intimate resorts on the island.

An ocean view from one of Zuri Zanzibar’s villas

The island of Zanizbar is located near the Tanzanian mainland, and as such, a visit their combines well with a romantic safari to East Africa! To see how, take a look at our 12-Day Tanzania Safari and Spice Coast .

“Zuri Zanzibar was the perfect place to end our safari adventure. Thank you AAC for the recommendation! My husband and I loved the Afro-chic style, beautiful gardens and fabulous beach! (I was completely unaware that many of the Zanzibar hotels and resorts are on beaches that you have to walk out an extensive distance to swim during low tide. This is not so at Zuri Zanzibar). Our bungalow was gorgeous! It was the perfect size for the two of us and we spent most of our time lounging in the hammock on the deck. I am completely forgetting to mention the food! Wow! Fresh seafood and craft cocktails all served with an ocean view. We are ready to return tomorrow! K. Smith”

The Africa Adventure Company made everything possible, and the recommendations of Puku, Old Mondoro and Chiawa were perfect. There were so many highlights and memorable moments. This trip would not have been possible without your company. The reception and surprises we got at each camp to celebrate our anniversary was a little gift from heaven. Thank you again for this outstanding trip. Jud Koehler-Newell and Michael Newell”

For some of Africa's most jaw-dropping scenery, opt for the seven-night Namibian Adventure Safari tour offered by Wilderness Safaris. This weeklong trip features visits to the Namib Desert's dune-filled Sossusvlei region (which you may recognize from the film "Mad Max: Fury Road") and the mountainous Palmwag Concession – a protected area with springboks, giraffes, black rhinos and more. The package's per person fee starts at $6,725, which covers most meals, park entrance fees, and transfers from Namibia's capital Windhoek and between the safari destinations. It also covers your stay at properties like the fully solar-powered Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp and the five-star Little Kulala lodge amid the stunning desert.

Wild Rwanda Safaris allows guests to choose between midrange, luxury and super luxury accommodation, which can help keep costs down if necessary. The company's packages include the $700 permit required to visit the gorilla park. The round-trip journey by safari vehicle to and from Kigali, Rwanda, and English-speaking guide services are also covered in all rates. The tour can begin from Kampala, Uganda, as well, although you'll spend longer on the road to the park.

As far as safaris go, this one is an affordable option, starting at about $2,795 per person with all meals included as well as a rental car; for the cheapest price, you will need to drive yourself between the destinations, but it's possible to pay an additional fee for a driver to guide you instead.

Starting at $3,750 per person, the tour includes most meals and all park entry fees, but not flights; the company does allow the tour to be customized on request.

Vaccination and visa requirements for African countries

Some popular safari destinations may require you to have received certain vaccinations in order to enter the country as a tourist. Inoculation requirements can include vaccination against COVID-19 and yellow fever, and you'll need to get these vaccines before departing on your trip. Be sure to bring proof of vaccinations with you. If you are transiting through another country en route to your safari tour, you must check that you also meet immunization requirements for the stopover location.

Note that, outside of what's required, there are a number of other vaccinations that are recommended, so ensure you're up to date and fully protected before you travel. In addition, many safari locations are prone to malaria; you should consult with your doctor to see if you need to bring anti-malaria medication on your trip.

Safari countries have varying visa requirements for travelers from the U.S. – these are detailed below. Depending on your itinerary, you may need a single- or multiple-entry visa, and some visas require you to apply in advance of traveling and/or have a certain number of blank pages in your passport. Regardless of your destination, your passport should be valid for at least six months before you leave for your trip.

Here are the vaccine and visa requirements for major safari destinations as of November 2022:

Botswana: If you have recently visited a country where yellow fever is common, you will need to be vaccinated against this illness. This does not include the U.S. but does include a number of countries in Africa, Central and South America. Consult the World Health Organization's website for a list of countries with risk of yellow fever transmission, including Kenya and Uganda.

U.S. citizens and nationals can stay in Botswana for 90 days without a visa.

Kenya: Travelers to Kenya must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with the last shot administered more than 14 days before arrival in the country. Unvaccinated visitors can enter with a negative PCR test, conducted no more than 72 hours before departure. Proof of COVID-19 tests or vaccines must be uploaded to an online system called Panabios. Kenya is a country where you'll be at risk of yellow fever transmission; it also requires those traveling from other places with yellow fever or cholera outbreaks to be vaccinated against these illnesses. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that you protect yourself against yellow fever before your trip here.

Americans need an e-visa to enter Kenya. You should apply online at the eVisa government website no more than eight weeks before your trip, as visas are not available upon arrival in Kenya. See more on the U.S. Department of State's website .

Namibia: Those traveling from a country where yellow fever is common need to be vaccinated against it. No visa is required as long as you're staying for 90 days or less.

Rwanda: If you're coming from a country where yellow fever is endemic, a yellow fever vaccination is required before departure.

U.S. citizens and nationals can be issued a 30-day visitor visa on arrival in Rwanda or through the Rwandan Embassy in Washington, D.C. A single-entry visa costs $50, and it's recommended you bring sufficient cash in U.S. dollars to pay for this (although credit card payment may be accepted at Kigali International Airport). Consult the State Department website for more information.

South Africa: A yellow fever vaccination is required if you're traveling from a country with a risk of transmission. No visa is required for stays of 90 days or less.

Tanzania: Travelers must be able to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination with a QR code to enter Tanzania. Unvaccinated travelers must take a PCR test no more than 72 hours before departure, and the test results should be accessible by QR code. Yellow fever vaccines are mandatory if you're traveling from a location where yellow fever is present – including if you spend more than 12 hours in transit in such a country.

Visas are required for tourism in Tanzania. You can apply for a single-entry, 90-day visa online for $50 – and be sure to print a copy of the approval to bring with you. The processing period takes up to 10 days. You can also obtain a visa on arrival for a $100 fee; it's recommended you bring cash to cover this. Find more Tanzanian visa information on the State Department website .

Uganda: To enter Uganda, you must either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or present a negative test taken no more than 72 hours before departure. Like Kenya, Uganda is a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. All visitors must show proof of vaccination against yellow fever to enter Uganda, regardless of where you're traveling from.

American visitors to Uganda must apply online for an electronic visa before departure; arriving in Uganda without completing this process could result in your detainment. Visit the State Department website to learn more.

Zambia: Visitors who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must show proof of vaccination but do not need a test to enter Zambia; unvaccinated travelers must undergo a PCR test no more than 72 hours before departure. Yellow fever vaccines are only required if you're coming from an area considered at risk.

Visas are required to visit Zambia, but these can be obtained online before your departure or at a port of entry. Check the State Department website for more details.

Zimbabwe: To enter Zimbabwe, travelers must either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or must take a negative PCR test no more than 48 hours before your departure. As with other countries on this list, visitors from countries with yellow fever outbreaks also require a vaccine against this illness.

U.S. visitors can obtain a 30-day, single-entry visa upon arrival in Zimbabwe for $30. If you're taking a tour that requires you to leave and reenter Zimbabwe, be sure to get a double-entry visa for $45. You can learn more from the State Department website .

Egypt is amazing! Fantastic tour with OTG. Our tour guide Momo, was exceptional. His knowledge, experience, humor and local insights truly created a memorable experience. The visits to the historic sites such as the Pyramids of Giza, the various temples of Luxor and Aswan, traditional egyptian cuisine and the cruise along the longest river in the world - the Nile, made this an experience we will cherish forever!

Pharaohs Nile Cruise Adventure - Return Flights Included

The tour was exactly what I had hoped it would be. In Cairo, Harry and Ahmed were amazing and my guide on the cruise, Mahmoud was the absolute best. Having the surprise of being the only one in the tour meant that the individual attention was key to my enjoying the tour. I saw everything I wanted to see and was not hurried along at all. I also enjoyed the down time. Thanks Nile Tours.

Wonders of the Pharaohs Tour

Wonders of the Pharaohs

Timeless Travel was amazing start to finish.  Our second time in Egypt was memorable thanks to the entire team.  Hany walked us through the booking process and kept in touch every step of the way.  He was always right there with emails answering questions and keeping everything in order.  Our first contact in Egypt Romany was kind and made sure we were taken care of. Our transfer from airport was effortless and check in to hotel was smooth.  We had only 1 tour guide for the entire trip and that was so much better than our last visit using another company that used multiple guides.   ASH was our english speaking guide and he made the trip unforgettable.  His professionalism stood out to me most. Always on time, got our group moving in and out of cities with ease, made us feel safe, and his knowledge of ancient Egypt was second to none. I couldn't have asked for a better guide as he explained everything in a modern take on egyptology as well as the old way. He let us decide what made more sense but his views on the human story align with mine and we had an instant connection that made the tour feel custom made for my family and I.    Wonders of the pharaohs was a great trip.  Hotels were pretty good, Cairo - Oasis was a lot of fun.. service fantastic, food was good.  Aswan - Basma had amazing views and great atmosphere..food was good.  Nile River Cruise -  The Symphony was a typical nile cruiser, clean, the service was FANTASTIC, food was pretty good, and it was a wonderful experience. The Nile Cruise Symphony made the trip unbelievable.. thank you to a great crew.   Hurgada - Gravity Water park..  so much to do there. Water park was fun, beach relaxing, 2 giant pools.  FOOD WAS AWFUL.   - But.. overall good hotel. I give Timeless Travel 2 thumbs up and I highly recommend them for your Egypt vacation.  We will be using them again for sure.  Thank you Hany and ASH, we look forward to reconnecting again.

Morocco cultural tour from Casablanca (Private 16-day) Tour

Morocco cultural tour from Casablanca (Private 16-day)

Just returned from an amazing trip to Morocco. Everything from the itinerary, to our driver & personal guide was perfect. First and foremost in making our 16-day encircling Morocco memorable was our driver Abdeljalil and our guide Ismail. While Abdeljalil demonstrated expert driving skills that made us feel completely safe. Ismail was a fabulous tour guide; knowledgeable beyond words, kind & gracious and was extremely helpful with all of our requests and making us feel safe. Both were very attentive to our needs. They made the long road trip a pleasure. Each day was full of unexpected adventure, from our first authentic meal of tagines, impromptu walks through local markets where the colors of Morocco are on full display, to spontaneous detours to gaze atop the spectacular Atlas Mountains. We loved trekking through the oasis to our Sahara camp on the slightly comical, docile camels was the highlight of our trip. Once we arrived at our glamping site we were treated to delicious freshly-cooked tagine with a show of drums and sounds. The Berber staff played instruments in the dining tent. No camp fire tonight under the stars as we experienced a sand storm and rain. Who knew! Watching the sunset and sunrise from the top of the golden sand dunes was as atmospheric as we hoped. The tents are very comfortable and each with their own bathroom. Tuly unforgettable! Marrakech was magnificent, magical and mad! The Djemaa el Fnaa square with snake charmers, jugglers, drummers and food stalls which will lead you into a labyrinth of narrow street – the souks – truly enjoyed! Essaouira was filled with wonderful, interesting people, restaurants and places. We loved the windy city with eclectic restaurants and arty ambience. The holiday was luxurious and well organised. We had lots of privacy and personal service. All of the people who received us at the accommodations, lunch stops and activities were all very welcoming friendly and efficient. It was one of the most interesting and delightful holiday. I would recommend this trip to friends and family – 100%. Truly unforgettable!

Our recent tour around Egypt was nothing short of wonderful. The tour guides, Nasser and Ahmed were very knowledgeable and helped and guided us through the country. 10 DAYS BEST OF MOROCCO ADVENTURE. Tour

10 DAYS BEST OF MOROCCO ADVENTURE.

We absolutely loved our tour with Morocco Joy. Ali helped us build an 11 day itinerary for our family of 6 and went above and beyond making it a great experience. We left Morocco with a new friend and a ton of new knowledge and experiences. The activities and accommodations surpassed our expectations. We were travelling with a baby and a toddler and every room we had was set up for our large family. Morocco Joy was able to supply car seats for our children and the van we travelled in was always clean and comfortable. With so much culture and history, it is important to have a great guide in Morocco, and we felt very lucky to have Ali lead our tour. We also really enjoyed the guides he partnered with in our tours of the Marrakech and Fes medinas. I was nervous to travel to the desert with an infant in December but Morocco Joy made it easy - truly the trip of a lifetime. We would not hesitate to book with Morocco Joy again and we deeply appreciate all Ali did for our family.

Everything about our experience with Cultural Tours Morocco was excellent: Abdul, who planned our itinerary with us and also was our driver during our 10 days, was incredibly helpful. He booked us into authentic, tasteful and quiet Riads that personified Moroccon culture, including a glamping tent in the Sahara that we arrived at after a 1.5 hr. camel trek (run by a wonderful guy named Ahmed). Abdul was an excellent driver/font of information who also arranged excellent tour guides at every stop including Fes and Marrakesh (our guide, Wedad, there was excellent), the High Atlas mountains and elsewhere. We had special dietary laws which Abdul made sure were followed in and respected. After covering around 2,000 kilometers in, but spending two long weekends in Fes and Marrakesh exploring the Medinas and Casbahs and Mellahs, we feel like we really delved into the geographic beauty, history and culture of Morocco, and we are very grateful that we found Cultural Tours Morocco on the TourRadar site. Big thumbs up!

Overall it was a good experience. Things were well organized and we saw the things we wanted to see. I think in general the hotels were rated higher than they should have been. This is especially true of the Oasis Cairo hotel. The grounds were very nice and the food was adequate but the rooms were 3* maximum.

Our morocco tour was incredible more then our imaginations, everything was perfect, Our driver khalid, could not be any nicer! Sweet, patient and kind, making us feel taken care of and safe all through our road . My daughters are both photographers, and he was patient with the frequent requested stops, not to mention he made sure he offered to have us stop everywhere we want along the way, The camel Trek itself was amazing!!! Moha led the camels through the dunes to the Nomad camp, where we were greeted by the staff there. They showed us how to make a tagine, set us up comfortably, sang songs by lanterns, and Amed told us so much of Berber history and culture. The campsite was so nice, clean, and every detail tended to. To top off a perfect evening, the staff offered to set up our mats on top of the dunes to sleep! To sleep in the open desert to the reflection of the stars, in complete silence.. what an amazing feeling!! Then awaken to the sunrise! They all sincerely wanted the best experience for us to share, thank you so much Cultural morocco organization for this magical experience, surly we will come back again soon as possible.

Tunisia Discovery, Small Group Tour Tour

Tunisia Discovery, Small Group Tour

This trip is a fantastic way to see a lot of the country in a short amount of time. I loved the sights and the pace. Our guide, Mohamed, and our driver, Jamal, were both amazing. Mohamed provided lots of information and really went out of his way to make sure we were having a wonderful experience throughout the trip. There were optional excursions as well, like a visit to an oasis, a visit to the Star Wars village, and a camel ride in the desert. The three of us in our group chose to do all of the optional trips, and we enjoyed them a lot. I'd recommend going on any optional trips that are offered--the cost is reasonable, and it's a great way to see even more. Although most of the time was "tour time," we did have a bit of time on our own, too, so that was nice. I'd recommend this tour to anyone who is planning a visit to Tunisia. The mix of sights is great, and you will get a nice overview of a lovely country!

What people love about Africa Tours for Couples

The King Rameses Tour was excellent. The itinerary was well thought out, we had a great group of fellow travellers and most important, our guide Dino was superb - really knowledgeable about every aspect of Egypt's ancient history and the sites we were seeing, an excellent communicator and the perfect host. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get the most out of a couple of weeks in Egypt.
This company goes the extra mile to exceed our already high expectations. Our tour coordinator, Harry, and tour guide, Ahmed, were nothing short of superb. If we ever come back to Egypt, these are our guys that we’ll let our Egypt tour arranged.

East Africa

Kenya • Rwanda • Tanzania • Uganda

High Season: June  • July  • August • September • October

The best time to visit the East African safari circuits in Kenya and Tanzania is in the winter months of June through August.

Cooler, drier conditions are ideal for spotting wildlife on open plains and around watering holes.

For safari-goers looking to catch the return of wildebeest from Kenya into Tanzania, consider traveling at the end of September or early October.

Shoulder Season: November • December • January • February

The shoulder season in East Africa starts towards the end of the year, when short rains fall and the grass starts to grow.

With the turn of the year in January and February comes the birthing season.

This is also the time for prolific birdlife, and the fresh air and quiet surroundings are inviting as the rains cease for a while.

Low Season: March • April • May

As the rains fall towards the beginning of March, ceasing at the end of May, the bush takes a siesta as animals seek shelter and the earth soaks up much-needed moisture.

Safari lodges use this time to renovate if required and guides take time to rest or become reacquainted with the bush.

Visiting East Africa towards the end of the low season will offer great availability and a chance to see young animals exploring their habitat without crowds.

Southern Africa

Botswana • South Africa • Zimbabwe • Zambia • Namibia

High Season: June  • July  •  August • September  • October

Winter is the best time to be on safari in Southern Africa, with visitors arriving from early June to the end of August.

The drier season results in brilliant game viewing as the grass is lower and animals gather at watering holes to quench their thirst. Temperatures are comfortably mild during the day, adding to the relaxed ambiance of being on safari.

Morning and afternoon game drives are complemented by crips evenings filled with bush chatter.

Shoulder Season: November • December • April • May

The shoulder season begins in November, when the spring rains have begun. At this time, the grass is still low enough and it’s not too hot, making it possible to get in that one last safari before the end of the year.

Christmas safari getaways offer a different perspective on the festive season and are a great opportunity to combine a city or coastal stay with a short safari.

The air and land start to dry up in April, with May seeing the dry season kick in. The grass height and temperatures begin to drop, making embarking on a safari at this time, before the busy season, a good idea.

Low Season: January • February  • March

With the summer rains in full force for most of the safari circuits in Southern Africa, January and February are noted as the start of the low season.

By March the rains have mostly stopped and as fall starts the air and land starts to dry. However, with the bush still full of vegetation and animals only just peeking out of their hiding places, it is still considered low season.

Expert safari guides are on hand to share their knowledge of the bush, so those guests who wish to embark on a safari at this time of year will be in excellent hands. However, sightings may be more difficult.

10 Best African Countries for Safari

#1 Botswana

Recommended Tours:

Thus, poachers are seen as enemies of the people. As a result, Botswana has come into view as Africa's most sought-after ecotourism destination. Starting from the Chobe National Park to the Moremi Nature Reserve, you'll be able to witness numerous gems all around the country.

Back in 2014, Botswana widely banned the hunting of wild animals and implemented strict laws which are still in practice. The country resumes its zero-tolerance for poaching and their very own environmental minister, Tshekedi Khama, has even launched a shoot-to-kill policy for poachers.

Botswana, with its wildlife conservation and natural parks, is a haven for nature lovers. It is currently in the top 5, as its approach to the protection and conservation of wildlife is worth the praise. As a country, it is very forward-thinking, some may even call it aggressively forward-thinking when it comes to its preservation and anti-poaching laws.

<p><strong>Recommended Tours:</strong></p> <p>Its fertile land provides a safe and comforting home to around 200 <a class="wpil_keyword_link" href="https://www.animalsaroundtheglobe.com/mammals/" title="mammal">mammal</a> species. This includes elephants, hippos, monkeys and so much more. Along with 650 bird species and 5,500 plants. Most of the land in Namibia is occupied by the Kalahari and Namib Deserts. Along with that, the country also has 12 national parks and many other areas which are protected. So, if you go there for a safari, you'll have many rich areas to see and explore.

When it comes to countries with the least amount of population, Namibia is one of them. Which proves to be a good thing for nature. This is because most of the land in Namibia is still unspoiled by human filth or any sort of development, giving nature a chance to breathe.

african safari for couples

In the country's Volcanoes National Park, you'll find 10 habituated gorilla families. Groups of 8 trekkers can visit them for one hour per day. But that's enough to get the best African safari experience. And as a nature lover, you'll enjoy the experience to the max.

If you've been around for some time, you'll be familiar with Rwanda's mountain gorillas. They were famously broadcasted and their fight for survival was shown on  National Geographic . This was all thanks to the late  Dian Fossey  back in the 1970s who advocated for the rights of these mountain gorillas throughout her life.

Considering the tragic history surrounding the mass genocide of the people of Rwanda back in 1994, it's truly a blessing what the country has achieved in the past 25 years. There have been countless investments in infrastructure. This has resulted in the country being a very fast-growing destination for ecotourism.

#6 South Africa

But given all the advantages, it's safe to conclude that South Africa also suffers from over-tourism. I mean, if you have so many great attractions, people will flock towards it. Chances are that you'll find yourself in the middle of dozens of unruly visitors who are not too keen on obeying the rules. This occurs mostly during the peak seasons.

Annually, the country has one million visitors. Its biggest attraction is the Kruger National Park with its enrichment in biodiversity. Visitors there also have the liberty to self-drive, thus, getting a first-person private but superb experience.

For some time now, South Africa has been climbing the charts to become one of the most popular destinations for African safaris. Given its location, South Africa is a very convenient and cheap destination for people from the United States. Besides that, the country also boasts a well-developed infrastructure which makes it perfect for luxury travelers as well.

#7 Tanzania

One of the most popular locations would be the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The country is also a haven for 1100 different bird species. It's no wonder that Tanzania gets this much rep. Especially when the country boasts so many wonders.

We talked about Kenya being the top destination for Safari. Now Tanzania here takes second place in being the continent's most popular safari destination. And why shouldn't it? The country has 16 national parks and an extraordinary amount of wealth and wildlife wonders for the people to witness.

african safari for couples

Some of its natural attractions include housing the highest mountain range in Africa. It also has the world's largest free-standing volcano and the second-largest freshwater lake. With its 30 national parks and other wildlife reserves, Uganda boasts many more sanctuaries which are worth the visit. Especially if you're a lover of nature and wildlife.

Often called "The Pearl of Africa", Uganda is certainly a great pick for an African safari. Its reputation as being one of the best ecotourism destinations comes from the country's natural attractions and wildlife.

<p><strong>Recommended Tours:</strong></p> <p>Out of its 20 national parks, the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is home to many wildlife animals such as African elephants, Angolan giraffes, Cape buffalo, etc. Other than that, there are many private ownerships of National parks, notably the Kasanka National Park which is near the basin of Lake Bangweulu.
