This tour aims to show travelers the best attractions in Fort Worth, including the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District , Sundance Square , the Fort Worth Water Gardens and more. Soul of DFW’s mission is to educate the community on the significance of Black culture through cuisine and local history. 

Founder and Chief Historical Guide Deah Berry Mitchell curates tours that allows guests to visit historical landmarks and learn about the contributions of the Dallas and Fort Worth metro area via cuisine and history.

There are designated stops at Black-owned restaurants for tastings of a selected menu item. 

Attendees are able to take in the sites stress-free from the comfort of a chauffeured, air-conditioned bus. 

Our exclusive tours are the perfect way to engage ALL employees in diversity appreciation OR educate students and faculty in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

I'm a fulltime Black culture historian and  writer residing in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. 

A double graduate of Southern Methodist University, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself into other cultures. Currently pursuing my Ph.D. in history at the University of North Texas. 

While vacationing in 2017, I had the idea to produce a bus tour that would combine my two passions: cuisine and local cultural history. 

When I got back, I suggested to my friend and public relations manager, Dalila Thomas, that we partner together to produce this new concept. 

In February 2018 we officially launched!

I relaunched the new and improved tours in April 2022 after pandemic restrictions were eased under my newly formed "umbrella" company - Nostalgia Black. Tourism is one of the services offered to amplify Black history and increase knowledge of cultural heritage and traditions. Currently pursuing my PhD in History, I am passionate about expanding our knowledge of local Black history.

I'm planning to expand into other test markets soon.

Henry Rose by Michelle Pfeiffer to showcase fragrances in Dallas with glass truck tour

Henry Rose , a line of genderless fine fragrances founded by Golden Globe-winning actress Michelle Pfeiffer, is bringing its commitment to ingredient transparency and safety to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

And guess what? The brand is hitting the road in a clear glass truck to showcase its products to customers.

On Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, the Henry Rose team will host events in Dallas that allow fragrance lovers to learn more about the brand's ethos, sample its products, and meet the team behind the fragrance line.

Friday's event will be held at Sephora Hillside Village, 6465 E Mockingbird Lane, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m . The location and time for Saturday's event have not been set yet, but customers can sign up for email and SMS texts to receive updates.

According to the company's website, Pfeiffer was inspired to start a line of harmless fragrances shortly after becoming a mother.

"When I became a mom, I started reading the labels on the products I used. I just couldn't imagine exposing my children to anything potentially toxic on my skin. Fragrance was the last black box of ingredient transparency. So, I gave it up altogether... but eventually, I missed it. I realized that if I wanted a safer, beautiful quality perfume, I would need to create it myself. We have to worry about so many things in life, and fragrance shouldn't be one of them. You shouldn't have to sacrifice quality for safety."

Pfeiffer has starred in numerous critically acclaimed films, including "The Prince of Egypt," "Scarface," "Batman Returns," "Dangerous Liaisons," and "The Fabulous Baker Boys."

A spokesperson told NBC 5 that the clear glass truck symbolizes the fragrance line's commitment to providing customers with the information they need to make the best product decisions.

But that's not all—the first 100 attendees will get a Discovery Set of the brand's entire fragrance collection . This is the perfect opportunity to try out their range of genderless fragrances and find the ideal scent.

Henry Rose plans to make stops in other cities, such as Nashville (April 29-30), Toronto (May 1-2), and New York City (May 4-5).

Distillery Trail - A Tour for Spirits Lovers If you love the idea of drinking a local libation in a hometown distillery, this is your tour!

About the event, what to expect...

There are as many distilleries in Texas as there were in the country when the American craft whiskey scene started gaining traction after the Great Recession of 2008, and Dallas-Fort Worth is at the center of the revolution.

As we waited for our whiskey to age, we created vodkas and gins that showcased Texas grains and botanicals. Next, we went on to corn whiskeys and moonshine, which became more and more popular nationwide. As local distilleries started producing single malt whiskeys made from malted barley grown in the state, a small distillery in Denison won the first-ever World's Best Bourbon award at the beginning of 2020, the first time a distillery outside Kentucky achieved such recognition. This event changed the game and threw the North Texas craft industry into the national spotlight.

So what is this tour about? It's a discovery journey to sip, sample, and buy North Texas's best homegrown spirits while learning some of the secrets of the craft of distilling magic.

- We will visit three distilleries and have a tasting at each of them.

- A fun and friendly distillery tour, we will meet a master distiller at one of the facilities we visit,

to provide expert information about fermentation, infusion, bottling, and distilling.

- Food - Distilleries generally do not have a kitchen; depending on your tour route, we will have food delivered or stop at a local place for lunch or dinner.

- Round trip transportation - the number of guests will determine the size of the vehicle. Let us know if you would like a party bus (at least 12 guests), and we can arrange that.

- Promotional pricing at some of the distilleries we visit if you decide to bring home some of the goodies.

The tour is four to five hours long, depending on your location (commuting takes time...). Whether you prefer vodka or small-batch bourbon, local honey-laced whiskey, or grapefruit- and pecan-infused gin, you've got your pick.
