A Diamond Select Release! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek TV Series, Diamond Select Toys has revisited their best-selling electronic starship and given it an upgrade! Featuring the surface detailing as seen in the HD episodes of the TV show, the new U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 features new lights-on capabilities with or without bridge ambient sounds, as well as longer voice clips, including William Shatner's full opening monologue! This 14-inch plastic ship sits on top of a plastic flight stand, and a button on the saucer section triggers the electronic features. Packaged in a full-color window box with a try-me window.

FIRST LOOK: New Products From Diamond Select Toys

Diamond Select Toys, on Friday, will begin offering two new Star Trek products for pre-order. Up first is a Spock Bust Bank, which will kick off Diamond Select’s new line of Star Trek vinyl bust banks. The Spock Bust Bank is an 8-inch rendering of everyone’s favorite Vulcan. It features a coin slot in the back and an access door in the base. The other product is a TNG Enterprise Silicone Tray, ideal for creating ice cubes, gelatin and chocolate in the shape of the Starfleet insignia and the USS Enterprise-D.

Both products will be available on Friday for pre-order at comic shops and via online retailers. The Spock Bust Bank will sell for $22.99 and the TNG Enterprise Silicone Tray will sell for $14.99.

Diamond Select has sent out an update on their classic Star Trek The Original Series figures. They have also added a listing to their website for the new series of figures. Series 5 of the classic Star Tre k series is due August 26th of this year.

Mego Museum has a photo review of the Punisher Set by Diamond Select. I never got into the Punisher as a character, always thought Marvel just ripped off “The Executioner” novels but dang, this set looks really well done.

Yay, we’re finally getting red shirts to kill

Time to dig some eight inch graves, Mego Museum reporting:

So it was confirmed at the Mego Museum forum s that the next four Marvel sets are (in no order)

Spider-man (including 2099 but we don’t know who else)

OK, I’m surprised about Iron Man as well but the character selection does seem somewhat well thought out based on popularity and media attention. Still hoping for something a little more classic in wave 3 but people have been wanting a 70s Mego style DD and Punisher for forever and a day.

Hopefully something retro cool like the Electric Company or Japanese Spider-Man ends up in the new set. I am going to assume that the black suit is a given.

And the fifth Marvel Mego Set is……

Deadpool and from what I see on the side of his box at SDCC, the Punisher and a second Spider-Man set are due next.

I’m pretty oblivious of this character but I do know that he is really, really popular. Sure I want a Green Goblin set super bad but I’m going to trust Diamond that they probably looked at the sales of their other Deadpool merch and decided he was a solid bet.

I know some Mego fans aren’t thrilled with this choice but honestly, I’ve never been upset about not spending money, so i don’t get that.

EMCE Star Trek lives

According to the latest Mego Museum newsletter that spoke to Diamond Select Toy’s Zach Oat the ReMego Trek figures are getting rebooted with Kirk and Klingon followed by Spock and Khan wave (but not a Chaka Khan wave sadly)

The 2014 Mego Museum Kubby Awards for excellence in ReMego are up for viewing right now.   It shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Figures Toy Co and NECA pretty much stole the show this year but I do think some nice stuff got ignored.

I guess when you have a property as beloved as 1966 Batman and then you actually do a nice job of the figures, you really have lightning in a bottle. Congrats to the winners!

Cancelled Lines: DST Knight Rider

Not even the combined forces of nostalgic 80s kids and the population of Germany could save this one. DST offered an 8″ Michael Knight for pre-order using their newly acquired tooling from ZICA toys because, well, why not? It’s a high profile property and a nice looking figure.

Sadly, a Michael Knight doll without a car or promise of a car is kind of well, not as sexy as it sounded. I’m conjecturing here but i’m guessing that the pre-orders were humbling and the doll was pulled off the table. (feel free to correct me, I am pulling this theory out of you-know-where)

Hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Keep taking your shots DST, I salute you! PS Make more 8″ Universal Monsters…

Still, I’m happy for the fans and to see yet another property get the Mego format and it looks EMCE did a nice job as usual,  I wish it all the success in the world if only to see Diamond/EMCE take more risks with the 8″ format. *cough* Black Dynamite *cough*

Jeffrey M. First and foremost the new Boba Fett is great! Now can we get a Han solo in carbonite to go with him? DSTChuck: Glad you like him! We do have more Star Wars action figures planned, but I am sorry I cannot say which ones just yet. A.F. Hey i was wondering if there are any plans to make a Korra figure from The Legend of Korra series? DSTChuck: For the time being we are focused on the Avatar line, we’ll have to see where we go after that. Scott P. Last winter you displayed Robby the Robot next to The Iron Giant. Will Robby be coming to market and if so approximately when would we see him? DSTChuck: We are still working on that project, and at this time I do not have an ETA for you.

Tyler F. Hey! Is there any specific release date for NBX Series 10? DSTChuck: I am sad to say, due to the timing of when we solicited it during the pandemic, we were not able to go forward with it for this year. We are going to re-market it to fans and retailers next year for delivery in time for Halloween. Thomas J. Hi, i was wondering, if You are planning on release of some busts of Star Wars Legends…….Like Starkiller maybe? DSTChuck: Legends characters have been discussed, so we’ll have to see what the future holds. Bill H. Any news on Star Trek TNG’s Cobra Phaser prop that was considered for production a few years ago? DSTChuck: I am sorry to say that at this time there are no further plans to release the Cobra phaser.

Geoffery S. May I ask when you are going to offer the busts for the rest of the rebels crew as statues I have hera but would prefer it as a statue and i wont buy sabine until she is a full sculpt DSTChuck: I do not know when, if ever, we plan to release the Rebels crew as statues. Sorry. Greg I wanted to know if there would be another wave of Gotham action figures. Especially Tabitha Galavan and Jerome Valeska? Are there going to be any Swamp Thing TV series action figures? DSTChuck: I am sorry, we have no new figures planned for the TV show Gotham. Joseph L. Love the NBX line. Are you considering figures for other stop motion films like Corpse Bride, Coraline, ParaNorman, or Frankenweenie? DSTChuck: We do not have plans at this time to make figures of any of those properties. Sorry. Fabricio V. With the shutdown of DC Collectibles and since you guys already have the license for BTAS and related products. So, any chance you could pick up from where they left? Could even make the Justice League Animated figures that we have always wanted and they barely made. Other companies have the DC license. but none of them makes that particular style and scale that DC Colletibles was making. So any hopes at all? DSTChuck: I think that is something that is up to Warner Brothers and DC Comics, but for our part we love working on DC properties!

Aaron R. Hello, I love your MCU action figures line. Will you be releasing a Black Widow figure from the upcoming film in addition to Taskmaster? Thanks. DSTChuck: I am sorry, we do not have a new MCU figure for Black Widow planned at this time. Ryan C. Is there a chance we will get Minimates based off of The Rocketeer? As a big fan of the original Rocketeer comics from the late and great Dave Stevens and the 1991 movie, I would absolutely love to own Minimates based off of this property. Since next year is the 40th anniversary of when Dave Stevens created The Rocketeer, as well as the 30th anniversary of the movie, I think that would be the ideal time to put out Rocketeer Minimates. Please consider this, the fans would buy them! Also, is there a chance we will ever see the Bruce Lee Minimates get released? Could we maybe get them as say, an Entertainment Earth exclusive or an exclusive sold at the Bruce Lee Store website? Please reconsider the Bruce Lee Minimates, as fans would love to buy them and with this year being what would’ve been his 80th birthday, more merchandise should be released of “The Great One.” DSTChuck: I am sorry, at this time we do not have plans for either Bruce Lee or Rocketeer Minimates.
