Emma Chamberlain's Los Angeles Home Is a 'Hippie Modern' Oasis — See Inside!

The YouTube star gave Architectural Digest a tour of the newly designed space

Emma Chamberlain is adding another skill to her impressive portfolio — interior design!

The YouTube sensation, 21, recently collaborated with Proem Studio designers Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman to style her new Los Angeles home, which she showed off to Architectural Digest .

Known for her authentic, laid-back personality, Chamberlain wanted a bohemian modern style in the new space and drew upon various eras and aesthetics. "I work from home, so I wanted to create something completely personal and comfortable," she tells AD .

Originally built in 1955, her house has a "woodsy cabin in Lake Tahoe feel," according to the Anything Goes podcast host. This is immediately felt in the living room, with its earthy color scheme and vast skylights.

Unique pieces add a quirky touch, such as the Beatles-themed Russian dolls and artworks of peanut butter in a grocery store.

In the formal dining room, a uniquely shaped stone table draws attention to the center of the space, along with the chain-like Trueing chandelier. Elsewhere, a spare bathroom is transformed by braided banana-tree bark wallpaper.

The kitchen has a color palette of sage and mint green, complementing the marble countertops and copper fixtures. Being the coffee connoisseur that she is, the Chamberlain Coffee founder also made sure to include a corner equipped with an espresso machine and designated drawer for her beans.

Inside her soothing primary bedroom, a fireplace adds to the cozy vibe while a tiger statement blanket brings in a burst of energy.

Her dressing room displays a clothing rack of colorful sweater vests and a funky ultrafragola mirror. Rust-colored marble decks out her spacious bathroom, which also includes direct balcony access.

"It kind of feels like this warm and fuzzy relaxing mixture of everything," she says of the carefully curated bathroom.

The outdoor space, where Chamberlain has friends over every weekend, is equipped with a pool, hot tub and permanent beer pong table.

Corn-shaped tables add a fun summer touch, while the outdoor bathroom makes you feel like you're "inside a sailboat," she says.

Emma Chamberlain takes viewers inside her newly designed home.

It’s picture, and YouTube, perfect.

YouTuber Emma Chamberlain has opened up her gorgeous home to Architectural Digest, showing off the dazzling surroundings in which she lives.

The internet sensation, who boasts 11.8 million followers on YouTube alone, purchased the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom California house in June 2021 for $4.3 million.

Spanning more than 4,440 square feet, Chamberlain, 21, spent the past year renovating the home to her liking.

Standing in the mountains above Beverly Hills, Chamberlain designed the home as a “chill, laid-back vibe,” with luxury in mind, AD explains, adding that it provides an “earthy-with-a-twist ambience.”

“I work from home, so I wanted to create something completely personal and comfortable,” Chamberlain told the magazine. “I brought in references from many decades and design eras, and I tried to meld them into something that feels not only cohesive but new. It wasn’t about following the rules or sticking to one aesthetic. I tried to approach it all with a lightheartedness and an open mind.”

The living room before it was newly designed.

Built in 1955, Chamberlain said the home had a “summer camp” feel when she bought it, which led her to lead with that theme.

The residence was designed in collaboration with Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman of Proem Studio.

“We described it as ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ meets ‘Troop Beverly Hills,'” she said.

“I’m a mood board type of girl. I scoured every corner on the internet, every weird, deep hole on Pinterest,” she added. “I find inspiration for the home everywhere, the same as fashion. It’s all one in my mind.”

A den.

Emma Chamberlain’s house tour for Architectural Digest has fans wanting to move into her Los Angeles home.

The 21-year-old influencer, who has 11.8m subscribers on her YouTube channel, is the latest celebrity to show off her home for AD ’s September 2022 issue. Designed in collaboration with Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman of Proem Studio, each room in Chamberlain’s mid-century modern home includes funky details and natural hues that reflect the star’s chill and laid-back style.

“I work from home, so I wanted to create something completely personal and comfortable,” she told the magazine. “I brought in references from many decades and design eras, and I tried to meld them into something that feels not only cohesive but new.

“It wasn’t about following the rules or sticking to one aesthetic. I tried to approach it all with a lightheartedness and an open mind.”

Built in 1955, Chamberlain’s eclectic home features wooden beams, cedar shingles, and skylights which bring in natural light. The house is furnished with organic materials as well, including cork-lined ceilings and walls and a bar made entirely out of copper. “I want the materials to make a statement. I like things that feel like an art piece, like a painting, in and of themselves,” Chamberlain said.

In fact, her father’s artwork has been hung on almost every wall, which Chamberlain said is a “recurring theme throughout the house.”

“My dad’s a rock star and I love his stuff,” she said in the house tour video. “It would be kind of awkward if I didn’t, so I’m really glad I do like it.”

For the founder of Chamberlain Coffee, her green kitchen wouldn’t be complete without a coffee drawer. Upstairs, Chamberlain converted one of the extra bedrooms into a closet, where she uses a step stool to reach her high heels. The airy closet was made complete with an Ultrafragola mirror by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova, worth $11,950.

“I live alone so I had some extra bedrooms to play with, and one thing that was kind of a dream of mine was to have sort of a dressing room where I can get my hair and makeup done,” she told AD . “I’m kind of mortified to admit that I have this as an entire room. I’m going to be honest, it’s a little bit, it’s like, really Emma?”

On social media, fans instantly gushed over the pictures taken of Chamberlain’s house tour for Architectural Digest .

“I want to live here,” one person commented on Instagram.

“Gonna cry myself to sleep for the next week bc I don’t live in Emma Chamberlain’s house,” another person tweeted.

“Emma Chamberlain’s home... god I have seen what you’ve done for others and I want the same for me,” said someone else.

“Emma Chamberlain’s house is so dreamy,” said one Twitter user.

“Girls don’t want boyfriends they want Emma Chamberlain’s kitchen,” another person joked.

Some fans couldn’t help but make references to another famous Architectural Digest home tour: “Emma Chamberlain’s kitchen saw Dakota Johnson’s kitchen and said hold my beer.”

Last year, the YouTuber sold her modern West Hollywood home for $4.1m, just one year after she originally bought it for $3.9m. In June 2021, Chamberlain explained in a video posted to her YouTube channel that she was moving out of the contemporary-style home because it was located in the heavily populated area of West Hollywood.

“I’m ready to move to a different area of LA, a more relaxed area of LA,” she told her viewers at the time. “A little more removed from the rustle and bustle of Los Angeles, so that’s what I’m doing.”

According to Dirt , Chamberlain purchased her current home – which sits in the mountains above Beverly Hills – for $4.3m, after it was originally listed for $4.7m.

Go Inside Emma Chamberlain's Los Angeles Home Featuring Her "Dream" Dressing Room

Emma chamberlain gave a glimpse into her lavish los angeles home in a recent tour with architectural digest ..

We'd give anything to make our iced lattes in this kitchen.

Social media star  Emma Chamberlain gave fans a highly-anticipated tour of her  Los Angeles home in a new video—and it's just as dreamy as you think it'd be.

"I feel like my style with clothing and home is very much taking a mixture of everything that I love from any era, and whatever, and making it all make sense together," Emma said in a Sept. 28 video for Architectural Digest . "Every room has a different feel and I love that."

The YouTuber —who is known for her relatable vlogs—has made a name for herself as the unofficial Gen Z queen . Her house is a directly correlated to that title, with a mixture of items that are relatable and high-end designer pieces that are sure to have been on her followers' Pinterest boards at one point.

Some of Emma's home decor includes a $13 cork wall tiles and an elongated $31,000 chandelier. She also has a permanent beer pong set up table and poolside stools that look like corn.

Emma also showed off many paintings made by her dad, who is an artist, hung up around her home.

"My dad's a rockstar and I love his stuff," she said. "It would be kind of awkward if I didn't, so I'm really glad I do like it."

One of the standout rooms in her large home includes her dressing room, which the 21-year-old noted is her "dream."

"I live alone, so I had some extra bedrooms to play with," she explained. "One thing that was kind of a dream of mine was to have a dressing room. Where I can get my hair and makeup done."

Although the lavish area might seem a bit out of character for her, she explained that she's simply making the most out of the space she had available.

"I'm kind of mortified to admit that I have this as an entire room. I'm going to be honest. It's like, 'Really Emma,'" she said. "But see if I live in this house when I'm older, and I have a child, we're getting rid of this and we're putting a kid in here."

Emma added, "I'm thinking of the future but right now it's time to be selfish."

Replicate her aesthetic space.

By now, you’ve probably seen Emma Chamberlain’s house tour that invites fans into an aesthetic space that’s somehow beyond your dreamiest Pinterest board. In Chamberlain’s viral video house tour with Architectural Digest , the star gracefully blends thoughtful styling to create a home that feels serene, playful, and like an extension of herself — and fans are feeling major inspo from her colorful taste and unique perspective, especially in comparison to the stark white home trends that other influencers tend to go for. In her walk through, Chamberlain drops pointers about her decorating choices and explains the intentions behind them, so obviously I took notes. Here are the best Emma Chamberlain house tour home decor tips from the video, as well as some affordable dupes that you can cop for your own space.

Within minutes of the video dropping, accompanied by a jaw-dropping post on Chamberlain’s Instagram , fans were hype about her dreamy interiors and replicating them themselves. What’s so satisfying about her home is that, although it’s super unrelatable in size and in its luxury furnishings, it still feels down to earth and approachable. It gives a homey feel by using warm textures and pretty colors that aren’t overstimulating. “I love how everything works in harmony without being too matchy-matchy” interior design and creator @tehillah.decor commented on TikTok. “I love mid-century modern, but her personal flair is a cherry on top.”

A house this beautiful was of course met with a little comedic jealousy online, as Gen Z viewers joked across Twitter and TikTok that they “should’ve picked up that vlog camera in 2015.” While her design team did have a large budget to work with, users find it satisfying to see her spend her money so intentionally. For example, Chamberlain’s vintage finds from Etsy and her own father’s paintings make it so her decorations are purposeful in function and not just aesthetic. Focusing on pieces that spark joy, she sets up her house as a safe and happy place to unwind and feel inspired. For example, she leaves out her watercolors and drum set to encourage herself to enjoy the space in a meaningful way.

Chamberlain’s home design shows how you can really incorporate your interests into interior decorating and get creative about how to make your home base a fun place. Her whole approach is pretty much summed up in a quote she said in her marble green kitchen: “Who makes the rules? Me.” Here’s how you can take interior inspiration from the best Emma Chamberlain house tour design tips and decor dupes.

We may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.

1. Take Cues From Chamberlain’s Green Kitchen

Chamberlain’s sage green, marble-covered kitchen is definitely a highlight of her home. It’s actually not the first green kitchen to go viral online ( Dakota Johnson’s and Kendall Jenner’s have also gotten plenty of buzz) , but this color choice is beloved for the fresh and bright feel it creates. It’s a non-traditional styling choice that makes a statement while also being chic, especially paired with white marble and copper details.

2. Create A Home Coffee Station

It wouldn’t be Chamberlain’s house without a coffee station that reps her own brand “Chamberlain Coffee.” If you follow her, chances are you’re a coffee devotee too, and love to be your own barista at home. You can make your own coffee station with organizers and kitschy decor to pump up your morning ritual.

3. Go For An Artsy Take On A Chandelier

A standout decor piece of Chamberlain’s dining area is her super modern chandelier that looks like an art installation. Instead of a more common crystal and brass sculpture, her light fixtures hang as bulb orbs on large chains ( which sleuths on TikTok discovered has a price tag of $30,000 ). Chamberlain says she was never really into chandeliers until she found an untraditional version that really grounds the room in a playful, contemporary energy. You can replicate that same vibe for a lot cheaper with creative lighting from Etsy or Amazon.

4. Incorporate Past Eras With Vintage Dishware & Accessories

As Chamberlain toured her kitchen and bar, she pointed out vintage accessories and dishware she sourced from Etsy, which is an easy site to find an abundance of unique knick knacks to introduces styles from different decades into one modern space. “I feel like my style, with clothing and home, is very much taking a mixture of everything that I love from any era, and making it all make sense together,” she said.

Vintage brown cordial glasses is a decor dupe inspired by Emma Chamberlains home design.

5. Decorate With Your Personality In Mind

Chamberlain’s personality also shines through in her playful decor pieces, such as her “ Napoleon Dynamite tiger” bedding. She explained that the peanut butter portrait in her living room takes her back to childhood. Meanwhile, she said the silly dog paintings “have personality in a way I rarely feel when I look at art.” If come across decor that seems a little out there but resonates with you in a happy way, definitely grab it for your space instead something that just feels trendy.

6. Create Texture With Cool Wallpaper And Adhesive Marble

Emma’s vintage-meets-modern home feels earthy and grounded because she uses a lot of natural-feeling elements throughout the space. From several different kinds of marble, banana-tree bark wallpaper, cork ceilings, and artisanal tiles. Installing heavy slabs of amber marble into your shower will definitely weigh on your wallet, so opt for adhesive marble wallpaper and countertop stickers instead. You can find organic-looking wallpaper on Etsy too for that unique 3D-texture you saw in her “ Flintstones bathroom.”

7. Make Your Living Space A Fun Place

A huge takeaway from Emma’s house is that she uses her personality to inform her style choices in her living space. Your home should be designed specifically for you to live, learn, and grow in, so it totally should feel like an extension of yourself. Emma accomplishes this by doubling her interests as decor, like using her shiny drum set as a centerpiece, laying out books and her watercolor set, and curating her favorite sweater vests on a clothing rack in her closet. You can do this too, whether with your own instrument, record player, or art easel.

The gold half moon metal clothes rack is an Emma Chamberlain home decor dupe.

8. Display Art Made By Loved Ones

As Chamberlain walks us through her home, she points out all the paintings by her father that are on display, whether in the entry way, mantle, or mixed into a gallery wall. If you have artistic loved ones, you can honor your favorite pieces by them in your home. Not only will it be unique decor that no one else has, but it’ll also make it seem like your artsy bestie is present in your space whenever you admire their work. And don’t be shy to hang up a masterpiece made by you, too (even if it’s a paint-by-numbers piece).

9. Find Stylish Alternatives To Drab Home Items That “Add To The Space”

One of Chamberlain’s most notable decorating tips she shared is to find versions of boring household items that actually add to the personality of the space. For example, you can replicate the modern-looking Lucite ladder in her dream closet with a less expensive version, or update your WFH space with a lapdesk like the one Chamberlain keeps beside her bed for when she records her Anything Goes podcast. You can store books, stationary, and tech conveniently in the side basket and rest your hot cup of joe on the tray for lazy work-from-home days.

10. Upgrade Your OOTD Pics With The Right Mirror

Unsurprisingly, Chamberlain’s closet is goals, especially over her trendy and very expensive Ultrafragola mirror. She shared that her full-length mirror is another example of her swapping a typical-looking item for something cooler. You don’t have to shell out thousands for the exact one she has, and you can find much cheaper options that bring the same vibe, like this black curvy floor mirror from Etsy. After you cop this, both your closet and ‘fit pics are going to look so much cuter.

Step Inside Emma Chamberlain’s Bohemian Home

So.. when can we move in?!

Emma Chamberlain is certainly no stranger into revealing every teeny tiny aspect of her life through her stream of online content. So it really does come as no surprise that a house tour is Chamberlain's next hot-drop-topic of interest to fans alike.

Barely starting her youtube career no more than 5 years ago the iced coffee enthusiast has just secured a $4.3 million home for herself at the ripe old age of 21. Knocking a cheeky $0.4 million off the asking price her new mid-century home is situated in the tranquility of the Santa Monica Mountains in Beverly Hills. Boasting five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a pool (of course) and even a basketball court (cause why not), this girl is for sure living not only hers but all our quarter-life crisis dreams!

The real star of the show however is the immaculate standard of interior design gone into the styling of the decor. Teaming up with Proem Studio designers Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman , the pair have been able to inject Chamberlain's chaotic yet seamlessly quirky style throughout her home and it is To. Die. For.

Resurrecting the 1950’s estate to its former glory, Chamberlain has invited Architectural Digest in to rightfully show off the new look. The tour from AD shows us a large atrium-like dining room connecting the kitchen and multiple living rooms, complimented well by vast amounts of skylights allowing plenty of natural light to fill up the rooms. Fluctuating between ‘formal’ and ‘informal’ the style really does embed the owners true self. Chamberlain tells AD, "I feel like my style, with clothing and home is very much taking a mixture of everything that I love from any era and making it all make sense together".

With that in mind the mixture of crushed velvet boucle loungers, floral wallpaper and clashing marble tiles appear to, dare I say, work?

For those Nosey-Nancies who want to make their own mind up about the Gustaf Westman inspired home, the tour is available to watch here.

Fans stunned by Emma Chamberlain’s ‘dreamy’ Architectural Digest house tour: ‘I want to live here’

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
