Digital Content Creator

Original, exciting and intuitive content all for you golf and travel lovers!

So, I’m a golf and travel influencer that started my journey into the golfing world more than five years ago on the media and marketing side of the Golf industry.

I’ve attended events around the USA, from the PGA Show in Orlando, PGA Tour Stops, fundraising for the Master Chef of the PGA Tour to feed our nuclear submariners during the holiday season, and LIV Golf’s 2022 season among other illustrious golfing events.

As my role in the golfing world changed through the years, I’ve never really received a “proper” golf lesson, until Women’s Golf Day 2022 at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Ever since taking my first women’s golf clinic on Women’s Golf Day, I’ve been hooked. Trying to take as many women’s golf clinics at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, I’ve continually practiced out on the driving range. As I improved my golf swing, I’ve been blessed with the chance to go play 9-holes at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa for a Women’s Golf Overnight trip.

Initially, my nerves were all over the place thinking I wouldn’t be able to improve, but I remembered what my good friend Mike Calbot “The Golf Doctor” said “Just remember to have fun and don’t overthink your golf swing”.

With all the experience and fun I’ve had, I now want to broaden my channel that focuses on the lifestyle of golf that includes fashion, health, and gear while following successful golfers in various leagues to influence a generation of new golfers.

Top 30 Golf Influencers To Follow in 2024

Who are some of the hottest people in sports social media? None other than golf influencers. Generally young, attractive, bold and energetic, they’ve broken from the old, rather staid conventions and traditions of the game and made it cool to play golf, no matter what your age or background.

On Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and other platforms, golf influencers engage with their followers and produce content that truly shows their personalities. There’s no one mold for these social media stars. Golf influencers come in all sorts of different flavors.

Now, let’s get into our list of the 30 top golf influencers. All were handpicked by our content team as some of the best to follow.

Paige Spiranac

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Paige Spiranac (@_paige.renee)

Is Paige Spiranac the most popular person in the golf world? Judging by her number of followers on social media, the answer is ‘yes’. No player—not even Tiger Woods—can match this blonde stunner. On Instagram, score it 3.9M followers for Spiranac to 3.3M for Woods. Paige isn’t all sizzle either—she can play. After her college years on the Arizona State and San Diego State University women’s golf teams, she turned pro in hopes of making the LPGA Tour. One year later, though, her game had deserted her and she was broke. That’s when Spiranac pivoted and devoted herself to her media work. Her popularity skyrocketed. She landed sponsorship deals, television commercials, and first appeared on the cover of Golf Digest in May 2016 when she was 23.

Since then, Paige has only become a hotter golf influencer and media personality. Now when she speaks out on a topic, her opinion carries social media clout. There’s always going to be resentment that her flaunting of her considerable assets draws outsized media attention compared to coverage of women’s athletic accomplishments on the golf course, but there’s no discounting that Spiranac has become a role model and has helped grow the game.

Garrett Clark

With his energetic personality and relentless dedication to golf, 23-year old Garrett Clark and his GM Golf brand have amassed a huge following. Clark started wowing friends and family with trick shots at age 9 and soon thereafter he was a Youtube sensation. Clark ’s content makes golf cool and exciting. He created GM Golf with his cousin Micah Morris. Clark’s Youtube, Instagram, and TikTok content features trick shots, unique challenges, matches against other golf influencers, course visits, and even lip syncs of songs. Garrett also co-founded Good Good, a group of friends living the dream golf life, traveling to memorable courses and destinations, and competing on the golf course for all to see. The continued popularity of GM Golf and Good Good, both of which have their own branded apparel lines, has made Garrett Clark a true star in the golf influencer community.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tisha Alyn (@tishaalyn)

Thanks to her prominence as a female golf influencer, Tisha Alyn has become a golf media personality who also uses her platform to inspire more participation by young girls, women and the LGBTQ+ community. After first picking up a club at age 3, Tisha Alyn became the no. 1 junior golfer in Illinois. She played collegiately at Cal State Fullerton and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. During her three years of pro golf, she won two mini-tour events and made it to the Symetra Tour (now Epson Tour) but not the LPGA Tour. Since she was already chronicling her journey in golf on social media, her shift to full-time content creation was a cinch. Tisha’s Instagram and TikTok posts of dance moves and trick shots went viral. She became Topgolf’s first female ambassador and a member of Fitbit’s training team. With her work for organizations such as the non-profit Trevor Project, which is devoted to the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth, Tisha Alyn is a supportive role model.

Grant Horvat

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Grant Horvat (@granthorvat)

The son of a teaching pro, Grant Horvat played collegiately in Florida but realized he wasn’t wired to go out for the pro tour. He shifted his focus to teaching golf and content creation. Meeting Garrett Clark and joining Good Good put him at the center of the Youtube golf influencer universe. On Instagram and other social media platforms he posts swing breakdowns, challenge matches, interaction with other influencers and tour pros, and promoting his sponsor’s products. Since leaving Good Good Horvat has been showcasing an alternative format of competitive golf in which he tests his game in stroke play matches on PGA Tour courses.

St. André Golf

View this post on Instagram A post shared by St. André Golf (@standregolf)

St. André Golf is the name of an Atlanta-based comedy team whose goofy golf videos on Instagram have amassed a huge following since launching in 2022. Co-founder Aaron Chewing, who has a film background, writes most of the short sketches that typically take place on a golf course. St. André Golf’s videos are humorous takes on realistic scenarios that anyone who has ever golfed can identify with. The expertly produced content ranges from horror movie spoofs to music videos, random stories, and matches on great golf courses. Among St. André Golf’s most-viewed posts are sketches with Tiger Woods and on-location shoots at Pebble Beach.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tania Tare (@taniatare63)

Tania Tare is the queen of trick shots on Instagram. As a kid growing up in New Zealand, she was performing golf trick shots for her family and friends even before she began to play golf. Though she moved to the U.S. and played golf collegiately at Florida International University, her aspirations of being a pro golfer were thwarted by a string of injuries. Judging by her impressive list of golf brand sponsorships, her career path is working out just fine. Tania’s trick shots, often done with yoga balls and slow cups, have turned her into one of the world’s most popular female golf influencers. Tania Tare is fun to watch.

BustaJack Golf

“Just two good ‘ole boys playing golf” is how BustaJack touts its Youtube channel. Busta and MadJack are very good golfers whose country boy personalities and great chemistry shine through as they contest matches (one was against Sahith Theegala, winner of the 2023 Fortinet Championship on the PGA Tour) and random challenges. They famously played 50 states in 50 weeks. BustaJack’s videos often spotlight great courses.

Sabrina Andolpho

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sabrina Andolpho (@sabrina.andolpho)

With her vivacious personality and proficient golf game, Sabrina Andolpho of South Florida has become a social media star thanks to her golf content. Highlights from her golf bio include three years on the Barry University women’s golf team and winning a car for making a hole-in-one in a tournament in Brazil. She became a full-time golf influencer babe after graduating from college. On her Instagram and YouTube you’ll see her enjoying range sessions, fitness workouts, random club challenges, matches against other influencers, golf course and travel vlogs, as well as some beach time.

Troy Mullins

Troy Mullins’ social media content shows her followers her journey in golf and inspires other young African-American women to follow their dreams. Troy is a Cornell University graduate who is fluent in Mandarin. Though she always played multiple sports (she was a heptathlete at Cornell), she was never a golfer until after college. Within a year of taking up the game Troy started competing in pro long drive competitions. It didn’t take her long to become a world-record holder with a 402-yard drive. Her Instagram and YouTube posts highlight her practice sessions, travel Vlogs and interviews. With her flair, smarts and social media savvy, Troy Mullins has become a sought-after spokesperson and an on-air host for LIV Golf.

Roger Steele

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Roger Steele (@roger_steele)

“Pick up a golf club and see what happens,” says Roger Steele, a golf influencer based in Los Angeles. Though at age 5 he was pictured in the Chicago Sun-Time s getting instruction at junior clinic led by 17-year old Tiger Woods, Steele said he often had to be dragged to the course by his father. Golf just wasn’t big on Chicago’s West side where he grew up. After quitting his job as a civil engineer and moving to Los Angeles, he carved out a lane in social media as a “black dude playing golf.” Steele describes his Instagram content as “just talking to his homies on the golf course.” He has an awareness that golf can open doors to opportunities but you must be intentional.

Birdogey (Brady Nuss)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Brady Nuss (@birdogey)

Known across social media platforms as “Birdogey”, Brady Nuss is a golf influencer with deficiencies (or LOFT) in his game that every ordinary golfer can relate to. “Birdogey” is a term for a good look at a birdie that winds up turning into a bogey. On Instagram he treats his experiences on the golf course with humor and pithy self-deprecating commentary as he inevitably soars over par. Birdogey always goes for the hero shot because eventually, he thinks, he’ll get a birdie and it will all be worthwhile. Though Brady Nuss takes a beating on every course he plays, his love for golf is unwavering.

Bryce Cope is a golf coach in Virginia who produces short videos of swing tips and of his golf travels. Unlike many other top golf influencers, his entry into social media stardom has occurred while he holds down a full time job as a physicians assistant specializing in human biokinetics. Cope’s understanding of the body’s mobility and physical limitations gives him the tools to fix your swing. He invites his paid subscribers to record their swing so he can provide personal feedback and make a custom video illustrating the fixes he recommends. Whether he’s giving lessons online or in-person, few instructors are better qualified than Bryce Cope to break down your swing mechanics to help you play better golf.

Snappy Gilmore (Eliezer Paul-Gindiri)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by S N A P P Y G I L M O R E (@_snappygilmore)

Snappy Gilmore, the social media persona of Eliezer Paul-Gindiri, became a TikTok sensation the minute he posted a video of his incredible, whippy, one-handed golf swing. Since then, his following has only gotten larger. His journey to golf influencer started when he left his family in Nigeria and moved to San Francisco on his own in 2017. Soccer was his sport—he played for two years at Contra Costa College—and he still has aspirations on the pitch, but for now he’s bringing a new audience to golf.  His Snappy Gilmore name came from a friend who suggested he take a running start to blast a drive like Happy Gilmore did in the comedy cult classic movie. Paul-Gindri averages about 250 yards on his one-armed drives and he has even topped 330 yards. Though he’s having good fun and hitting his trademark drives by choice, Snappy Gilmore also raises awareness for and inspires adaptive golfers who have physical limitations and disabilities.

Rick Shiels

Rick Shiels produces some of the most entertaining content of all the top golf influencers. The English PGA professional’s podcasts (The Rick Shiels Golf Show) and Instagram and Youtube channels have a huge following. Shiels, who has been a content creator for several years, posts videos featuring equipment and training aid reviews, matches against other influencers, swing tips, and course management insights. His nearly four million loyal followers especially like his visits to amazing golf courses and his chatty conversations with interesting people while they’re playing a few holes of golf together. Ever personable and engaging, Rick Shiels is a golf influencer legend.

Youtube golf went to the next level when Garret Clark, Micah Morris, Stephen Castaneda and three other friends (Grant Horvat later joined as well) moved into a house together in Texas in 2020 and began posting videos. The barely 20-year-old golf addicts—all very skilled players and keenly devoted to improving their games—captured a huge following with their matches, challenges and adventures on and off the course. They created a tour featuring matches at prime venues across the country. The format allowed them to be themselves. Good Good’s reliance on authentic friendships filters out all the stuffiness of golf, making the game more appealing to younger audiences. Over time the cast has changed—Grant Horvat notably left the group—but Clark and Castaneda remain. Good Good is still one of the most brands in golf social media media.

The chemistry between relatable characters such as Bobby Fairways (Berger), Joey Coldcuts (Joe Demare), Fat Perez (Nick Stubbe) and Binny the Jet (Benny Sticker) always shines through. Bob Does Sports entertains followers whether the guys are doing something momentous like playing matches against Max Homa and football stars from the NFL, or something ordinary like roasting each other’s golf games, sampling chicken caesar wraps, or just hanging out.

As her Instagram following swelled she attracted a plethora of sponsors and made appearances on Golf Channel’s Shotmakers . The blonde beauty’s allure and bio have earned her comparisons to Paige Spiranac. She’s even gotten into a little social media spat with Spiranac, a diehard Woods supporter, over whether Tiger should be considered a parental role model. Hailey Ostrom’s most-watched Youtube video, attracting 364,000 views so far, is with Claire Hogle in a high quality match of two popular golf influencers who just happen to be hot golf babes.

A former Miss Canada, 28-year-old Sara Winter is a female golf influencer who has embarked on a journey to become a successful pro golfer. Nothing in her bio suggested she would ever enter the golf space. Sara grew up in a small town girl on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and came to golf late. Though she began modeling at age 15, she didn’t play junior golf or even become serious about the sport until she was 22. Now Sara is a brand ambassador for Taylormade Canada and competing in mini-tour events. Sara Winter hopes her social media posts will help girls and women get involved in golf as she serves as a positive role model.

Isabell Shee

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Izzy (@isabelleshee)

Isabell Shee is an influencer whose followers appreciate her off-course life as much as they do her golf content. Isabell’s bio suggests she was quite comfortable in the world of competitive golf. She played collegiately at UNLV and then went on to compete in mini-tour events. Her dreams of making it as a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour may have fizzled, but on YouTube she has found a niche with videos (often made with her sister Kaitlyn Shee) of golf tips, golf fitness workouts, and advice on how to increase your golf mobility and ease the strain on your joints. Meanwhile, her Instagram followers get a flashier version of Isabell. On Instagram she comes across less as a golfer and more as a model who hits the beach, hangs out with friends, and keeps viewers engaged in her exciting life.

South Korean-born golf instructor Aimee Cho enjoys a devoted following thanks to her Golf With Aimee Youtube channel which features content in both English and Korean. Her bio is fascinating. After her early childhood days in Korea she came to Florida where she rose up the junior ranks under David Leadbetter’s tutelage. She played collegiately at the University of Florida and then turned pro. Alas, when injuries ultimately derailed her hopes of making the LPGA Tour, she relocated to California and became a golf instructor. After getting a break teaching a golf segment on television in Los Angeles, she started producing more golf content for her followers. Whatever platform she uses, including her MPSwing.com website, Aimee Cho is one of the most trusted female golf influencers when it comes to simplifying your swing, maximizing power, and playing better golf while preventing injuries.

He won the 2016 Open de Espana on the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour). That same year Beef finished 8th in the Open Championship and had a top ranking of 74 in the world. The burly framed, bearded Englishman from a working class background has been a folk hero ever since he declared in his Open de Espana victory speech that he was “going to get hammered with his mates and see his mum.” Nowadays Johnston keeps his followers engaged with his Instagram postings and weekly Beef’s Golf Club podcast. In his search for fun golfing adventures, Johnston always comes across as good humored and authentic.

George Gankas

George Gankas is one of the most popular golf instructors on the Internet. He gives short, to-the-point golf lessons on Instagram and directs interested followers to his website where they can join him for online lessons and personalized practice sessions. Gankas’ bio speaks for itself. He’s a GOLF Top-100 teacher who gives in-person lessons at the driving range of a rather modest public golf course in Los Angeles County. While once upon a time his rates were as modest as the facility, these days he counts an array of CEOs, athletes, and celebrities as regular clients who pay big money (sometimes $1,000) for an in-person lesson.

Nick Stubbe

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nick Stubbe (@thefatperez)

Fat Perez, as Nick Stubbe is known on Instagram and other platforms, is an extremely relatable golf personality and content creator. He’s one of the stars of the Bob Does Golf troupe. With his long curly dark hair, portly build, and smooth golf game, he bears a resemblance to pro golfer Pat Perez, albeit a heavier version. A peek at his bio reveals a surprise—he grew up at famed Oak Hill Country Club in a golf family. Though he worked in accounting and commercial real estate in Virginia until 2022, he gave up his job and followed his dream to have fun by living the golf lifestyle. He’s enjoyed immense success as an influencer playing courses all over and showing his ridiculously stupid side with his Bob Does Golf friends. His Instagram followers can’t get enough of him. Stubbe’s posts on Instagram and Youtube feature Fat Perez’s golf matches, challenges and golfing adventures with other influencers. He’s often puffing on a stogy and downing a beer. Judging by the way 350,000 followers are engaged in watching him, Fat Perez is here to stay.

Influencing isn’t slowing down anytime soon in fact as social media continues evolving we’ll see even more innovative ways through which these talented individuals will continue offering fans tips while expanding their reach across multiple platforms.

How Golf Influencers Monetize Their Social Media Presence

Golf influencers have successfully harnessed the power of social media to create profitable income streams. They’ve leveraged their substantial followings on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok to monetize their influence.

The primary avenue for revenue generation is through paid partnerships and sponsorships. Brands are always in search of influential personalities who can effectively market their products or services to a specific audience.

Influencers like Paige Spiranac, with her whopping 4 million followers, frequently collaborate with golf equipment manufacturers, clothing brands, and even luxury watch companies for promotional deals. These collaborations usually involve creating content that organically incorporates the brand’s product while resonating authentically with the influencer’s fanbase.

Apart from traditional sponsorships and partnerships, some golf influencers also generate earnings by offering exclusive content on subscription-based platforms like OnlyFans.

This platform allows creators to share premium content behind a paywall where fans subscribe for access. For instance, Lucy Robson promotes her massive OnlyFans account alongside sharing free tips on improving your swing or selecting the right club on her regular channels.

Beyond Instagram – Expanding Influence on Other Platforms

While Instagram has been instrumental in building these stunning golf influencers’ careers, many are now exploring other social media outlets seeking growth opportunities.

Key Takeaway:

Golf influencers are cashing in on their social media clout, transforming followers into income via paid partnerships and exclusive content platforms. From Instagram to YouTube, these savvy golfers aren’t just playing the field – they’re also playing the market.

While golf influencers have ventured out from Instagram to other social media sites in order to communicate with their followers and widen their impact, this calculated decision is creating fresh opportunities for these figures. This strategic move is opening up new avenues for these personalities.

This format allows fans to see beyond the curated photoshoots that dominate Instagram feeds, providing a more intimate look at these influential figures’ lives. For advertisers seeking longer-form content integration opportunities, such formats offer significant potential over traditional short videos or images commonly associated with platforms like Instagram.

Golf influencers aren’t just stopping at YouTube; TikTok has emerged as another exciting platform where they’re expanding their influence. With its younger user base and unique algorithm favoring viral content creation, it’s an excellent opportunity for our favorite players to connect with newer audiences across different demographics.

Innovative video snippets offering tips about improving your swing or choosing the right club find great resonance among both novice players looking forward to watching videos full of insights from seasoned pros and experienced ones searching for fresh perspectives.

Moving away from visual-centric mediums like YouTube or TikTok doesn’t mean losing traction- quite the contrary. Some notable figures have been successful in sharing professional advice via text-based channels such as Twitter and LinkedIn, which allow them greater freedom to discuss complex topics related to sports psychology or advanced game strategies that are hard to convey through visuals alone.

Golf influencers are diversifying their social media presence beyond Instagram, tapping into platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Twitter and LinkedIn. This expansion allows them to engage with fans on a deeper level through varied content formats – from entertaining competitions and golfing tips videos to professional advice via text-based channels.

Impact on Women’s Golf

The emergence of golf influencers has dramatically shifted the landscape of women’s golf. These social media figures have gained a great deal of admirers, and their skill and dedication to the game are motivating many others.

Inspiring a New Generation

Golf influencers have managed to spotlight women’s golf in ways traditional media often overlooks. Their engaging content, coupled with their expert play, serves as an inspiration for many young girls worldwide who dream about following in their footsteps.

A notable example is Elise Lobb Dzingel who uses her platform not only to share valuable tips but also inspires her fans – particularly young girls – by emphasizing the importance of hard work and persistence when aiming for success both inside and outside sports arenas.

Historically, golf has been seen as a male-dominated game. However, these female influencers are challenging this notion by showcasing that passion for the game isn’t gender-specific. Check out Claire Hogle’s Instagram page here .

Female athletes frequently face hurdles when it comes to receiving equal recognition compared with men within similar fields. By amassing millions of online followers through platforms like OnlyFans, these stunning influencers raise awareness about gender inequality within sporting culture at large. Her advocacy efforts towards equality among genders in sports via social media channels underscore how powerful such influence can be.

Criticisms & Controversies

Even as golf influencers continue to rise, leveraging new technologies and platforms to engage with fans, they have not been exempt from criticism. A significant concern is the potential overshadowing of traditional players in the sport.

The question arises: Is too much emphasis placed on appearance over skill?

Influencers like Paige Spiranac have faced their fair share of backlash for emphasizing looks alongside their golfing prowess. Critics argue that this focus might send an incorrect message about what is truly important in professional golf – talent coupled with hard work.

This argument suggests a shift away from actual skills towards physical attractiveness, which could potentially distort perceptions about success within the sport itself.

An additional point of contention lies around how social media popularity may eclipse recognition for more traditional professional players who are not as active or effective online. It sparks debate whether fame derived from millions of Instagram followers equates to merit within the game itself.

This raises questions about equitable representation and respect towards those athletes dedicated to mastering this complex sport but perhaps lacking social media clout or eye-catching photoshoots on amazing golf courses (source).

Future Trends in Golf Influencing

The landscape of golf influencing is constantly shifting, fueled by technological advancements and changes in social media trends. As these stunning golf influencers continue to hone their craft, they are set to leverage new technologies and platforms while finding innovative ways to engage with fans.

Gearing up for the Tech Revolution

VR and AR technologies are likely to be utilized more frequently, providing exciting chances for immersive experiences that let fans get an up-close look at their favorite golf courses. These tools offer thrilling opportunities for creating immersive experiences that bring followers closer than ever before into the world of amazing golf courses. Imagine experiencing a round from your favorite influencer’s perspective or receiving personalized instruction through VR. AR could take it further by providing interactive overlays during live streams or video content – offering real-time stats about players or trivia about famous courses.

Diversifying Social Media Presence

Moving beyond traditional platforms such as Instagram will be another trend among top-tier influencers. Platforms like TikTok have already begun attracting younger demographics with its short-form videos which are both easy-to-consume yet highly engaging – perfect for bite-sized tutorials on how to become a true golfing nut.

Influencers will also seek direct fan engagement strategies aimed at building stronger connections between themselves and their millions of followers. This might involve hosting regular Q&A sessions via livestreams where fans get answers directly from them, running contests where winners receive exclusive one-on-one coaching sessions or signed merchandise straight off the pro shop floor.

Social commerce may also rise significantly amongst our favorite online personalities looking out for additional revenue streams. Here’s more information on what social commerce entails.

Paid partnerships remain integral parts of monetizing influence; major brands look towards tapping into this massive audience pool attracted by compelling content shared across various channels. Read more here on leveraging paid partnerships effectively within influencer marketing strategy plans.

Golf influencers are shaping the future of the sport with their innovative use of technology and social media. They’re leveraging VR and AR for immersive experiences, diversifying their presence across platforms like TikTok, fostering direct fan engagement, exploring social commerce opportunities, and monetizing through paid partnerships. The game’s never been this interactive before.

TOP 10 golf travel blogs to consider

As we all know that people will be influenced by many things during their  customer journey  before they arrive (if they arrive at all) to our golf resort/club or to the golf resort ‘s website. We also know that  90% of the consumers trust peer group member recommendations  (source: Nielsen). This tells me that they are looking for social proof .

Some golf clubs and golf resorts have already recognized the above-described phenomenon and trying to find influencers, golf travel bloggers who can help them to:

  • expand brand awareness,
  • improve brand advocacy,
  • reach new targeted audiences,
  • increase share of voice.

Today, influencer marketing is a full-fledged industry. Recently,  Experticity (an unpaid influencer network), Jonah Berger (marketing professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania) and Keller Fay Group have conducted a study about micro-influencers.

They found the following:

  • 82% of consumers are “highly likely” to follow a recommendation made by a micro–influencer , compared to 73% who are highly likely to act on a recommendation from an average person .
  • 53% of influencers’ recommendations happen at work , compared to 19% of general population recommendations.
  • The influencers are more knowledgeable, credible, believable and they are able to explain much better how a product or service works.

To find such golf travel influencers in the golf travel topic is not so simple. I will tell you soon why.

golf travel blogs influencer marketing

When I worked on a social media project for the Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Zala Springs Golf Resort (member of IMG Prestige and World of Leading Golf ) , one of my recommendations was to find golf travel influencers who can present and explain why worth visiting and playing golf in this Hungarian golf resort.

One of the reasons why I recommended them to find golf travel bloggers was that unlike offline articles in golf magazines, the blog posts are:

  • More personal ,
  • You can discuss with the blogger his experience —> the partner golf travel blogger can share much more and deeper insight than an offline article in Golf Monthly, Golf Digest, Today’s Golfer etc.
  • Searchable —> people will find them easily via search engines (e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo!)

Why is hard to find a reliable golf travel blogger?

First of all, I took out from my list all those blogs that are not professionally managed and written . It was important also that they should be active golf travel bloggers who publish at least once a week . Furthermore, they should be known among other golf bloggers.  I also used the 4Rs model  (a well-known technique to select the right influencer for your business):

  • Reach – the number of daily/weekly/monthly unique visitors and page views.
  • Relevance –  in this case, I looked for golf travel blogs where golf tourism/travel is the central topic and not one of the many ones.
  • Resonance – are they engaged with their readers?
  • Relationship – are they authentic? Do they share your brand’s values + brand persona?

This is how I “arrived” to my TOP 10 golf travel bloggers who can be useful in your golf club promotion and communication. Please, note that these golf travel blogs are not ranked as per their quality:

  • Migrantgolfer.com
  • Golfersglobe.com

How to work with golf travel bloggers?

After you found the right golf travel bloggers and golf travel blogs that fit your business, here comes the next challenge: nurture and manage these relationships . The cooperation with golf travel bloggers is not much different from other influencer marketing initiatives in other industries. I would not recommend treating these golf travel bloggers and influencers as the classic journalists to whom you send time-to-time your latest press release. Of course, it is more than nothing.

However, if you wish to exploit their influence to generate more awareness and trust in your golf club/resort then you have to provide more insider insights, unique information and be open to their questions and requests . Invite them to your events (e.g. tournament; opening ceremony of your new bar/restaurant/xyz; in-house workshop etc.). By the way, I also have got such influencer marketing cooperations.

Who is your favorite golf travel blogger and why?

At your golf club/resort have you got any experience working with golf travel bloggers? If yes, share with us and recommend golf travel bloggers. If not, then tell us why not.

  • Chloe-Allyn Gallacher is the original women’s golf influencer

golf travel influencer

By Juliet Brook

Copy link to share with friends

To quote Pele: “No individual can win a game by himself”. Chloe-Allyn Gallacher grew up loving team sports, like football, basketball and netball. But when she moved to London from her home in Perth in Western Australia, she struggled to find anyone to play with. Back then,  her now husband took her to the practice range on their first date and with one hit of the golf ball, she was hooked. This turned out to be a serendipitous moment where she found a remedy to her dilemma in one of the only games that you can play alone: golf. Fast forward to today and the world of golf, she is far from alone. Chloe is a trailblazer for women’s golf today.

Of a handful of UK-based golf influencers, Chloe-Allyn Gallacher is the original golf influencer in its purest form. She began documenting her golfing journey in 2016, using her Instagram account @onthegreenwithchloe to find people to follow to help with her golf education. The process of documenting her golf journey has led to 10k followers in the first year and now she is at almost 40k. Building a sense of community around her was a very important part of the process, the key ingredients of which have (unsurprisingly) been the dedication to daily interactions: posting, commenting and starting conversations.

women's golf

Over the last decade, golf has seen huge progress in making the game more female-friendly and Chloe has played a huge part in this process. With her effervescent positivity as seen in her social media, she has created a safe place for golf fans to connect, share ideas and, to find other people to play with. Along with enhancing women’s golf, the community also offers the opportunity to look inside the life of often elusive golf idols, which can in turn inspire a younger audience. All of this has culminated in her being asked what to wear, recommendations for good local golf courses and most significantly, where are the most female-friendly places to play.

"a serendipitous moment where she found a remedy to her dilemma in the only game that you can play alone: golf"

With reverence, Chloe is clearly honoured by the trust that exists between her and her following. She is also grateful for the skills golf has taught her, in terms of problem-solving and patience as well as mental and emotional attributes, like taking one shot at a time. It’s hard to believe that before she discovered golf, Chloe described herself as anxious and lacking in confidence and as  a  person who was afraid to try something new. Even going to the practice range alone was a hurdle to overcome.

women's golf influencer

Chloe is keen to share her wisdom to encourage more women into the game and emphasises: “ Look for lessons for beginner or women-only groups (if you are a woman) to build up courage and confidence and learn the ‘ etiquette ’ first” and  “surround yourself with women or beginners around to support each other” -something she never had starting out. Further sage advice is to “ Start on a par3 course to begin with” to get comfortable on a golf course. Not forgetting the social media groups on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok with information on all of the above.

Now for the fun part. Chloe has covered some of the best golf experiences in almost every continent and appreciates the differences and contrasts. She is a fan of courses in Mauritius particularly, Heritage Le Telfair.  With views of the Indian Ocean, white sandy beaches, Heritage Le Telfair’s has an unbridled VIP experience with a seamless transition from poolside to first tee and boasts its own Michelin starred restaurant on site. Pine Needles in the Sandhills in North Carolina is a favourite in the US and in Europe, the Hacienda del Conde in Tenerife. With authentic Spanish charm which overlooks it’s Buena Vista course, Hacienda del Conde is positioned on cliffs with dramatic views over the Pacific Ocean.

chloe allyn

"she found herself in a group with major champion and Solheim Cup star Paula Creamer. An unprepared Chloe had “never felt so much pressure in her life”."

Back home in Oz, The Cut in South Perth is her favourite Aussie course. On this course down under,  visitors are required to drive through the rugged ‘bush’ to get there and only on arrival the pristine course reveals itself, built into the dunes with views of the Indian Ocean. The Vines, also has a special place in her heart because of the famous surrounding the Western Australia wine country and is a favourite amongst local kangaroos and in turn, Instagram. In the UK Chloe is a regular on Walton Heath GC who actively encourages women’s golf, so much so that they are hosting the 2023 AIG Women’s Open, one of the biggest events in the Women’s Golf calendar.

One major highlight of job is meeting the golf professionals and one dalliance stands out in her memory. Having only played golf for about a year, Chloe was invited to play at a Pro-Am prior to the Women’s Scottish Open in 2017 and she found herself in a group with major champion and Solheim Cup star Paula Creamer. An unprepared Chloe had “never felt so much pressure in her life” . But she managed to overcome her first tee nerves and beyond her wildest imagination, her team went on to win the event.

women's golf

And recently married Chloe has an extensive to-do list. She insists she will continue to encourage as many people as she can into golf, making it a better landscape for women in particular. She is looking forward to presenting more content on her Youtube Channel and collaborating with her sponsors Puma and DestinationGolf.travel. She will still be working to improve the media coverage of women’s golf as well as seeing more golf at a grassroots level (in more schools). She is most excited about showcasing new courses around the world, whilst improving her own game.

Despite sharing your life story on social media, it is still a bizarre experience meeting fans at the big events and being asked ‘how was your holiday was last week in…?’ by someone whom she hasn’t met. Knowing what it is like to feel alone, Chloe savours every minute of the connections she makes and she couldn’t be happier when she interacts with the community she has worked hard to build. Her bubbly and enthusiastic nature is infectious and welcoming, the perfect role model for the game.

Review: Forest Dunes Golf Club in Northern Michigan

On the recent HOG World Tour stop in northern Michigan I had the pleasure of staying at Forest Dunes resort, and playing the unique Tom Doak designed reversible course there called The Loop. Check out my review of The Loop .

golf travel influencer

While The Loop may be the attention grabber, Forest Dunes is home to a Tom Weiskopf design simply called Forest Dunes Golf Club. Forest Dunes Golf Club sits inside 500 acres of land within the Huron National Forest. The course is a 7,116 yard par-72 design which is quite different than The Loop. For one it isn’t reversible.

A Tale of Two Nines – Forest and Dunes

The front nine (Forest) is carved through some fairly dense northern Michigan trees in more of a traditional American parkland style of golf, less links influence. So there’s more carrying the ball and little running up shots. Due to the dense trees lining most holes, each hole is isolated. No parallel holes. It’s quite serene.

The back nine (Dunes) exits the forest and turns to a more rugged and exposed experience.  The dunes on the back feature large sandy waste areas and native vegetation which line and sometimes cross the fairways and surround the greens.

Speaking of serenity… Forest Dunes occupies about 500 acres and there are no homes on the course.

The look and feel from the tee of the Weiskopf course is very pleasing to the eye. Most often it’s WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). Tee shots need to be fairly accurate or they’ll end up in the dense forest, waste areas, water hazards, or some of the terrific fairway bunkering.  There are a few situations where from the tee one doesn’t realize there are two different paths to take, split fairways.  A better familiarization with the course would really help in those situations.

golf travel influencer

There’s also a nice bit of elevation change from tee to fairway or tee to green on the front nine. The elevation changes make the tee shots even more interesting.  More rolling hills and dunes are on the back, which hide some of the native areas.

The fairways on the Weiskopf course were in terrific condition when I played there, and I found most of them thankfully. Only on the 9th did I run into tree issues. Lies on the shortgrass were like lies on high quality carpet. The only difference is you don’t want to take a divot out of high quality carpet. It won’t grow back.

golf travel influencer

Most of the fairways are not terribly penal or unforgiving. There can be positions in the fairway which are not optimal; ones that perhaps bring overhanging trees into play or bad angles to the green. A little course knowledge helps for those situations. Same goes with some of the small native areas and waste areas which can jut out from the sides of some of the fairways, especially on the back nine.

I really enjoyed the green complexes at Forest Dunes. Many of the greenside bunkers are Robert Trent Jones Sr.-like large. There can also be more rugged bunkering with native grasses around the edges and less pristine and precision in the shaping on the back.

Some greens are guarded by forced carries, water, and of course sand, so flying it all the way in those situations is required. Other greens offer options for chipping, pitching, or even putting off the surface (one of my favorite shots because chipping is one of my least favorite shots).

golf travel influencer

One very unique feature at the Wekskopf course is the 19th hole. No that doesn’t refer to the bar. The bar is the 20th!

19th Hole at Forest Dunes

19th Hole at Forest Dunes

The 19th is a short par-3 which is used to settle matches or bets in the event that there’s a tie after the 18th is completed. What a cool idea.  My group was hitting sand wedges into the green but it looked like the hole could be stretched out a bit more.  One fun part, hard to see in the photo above, is the bunker in the middle of the green which made the green’s shape like a donut.

Forest Dunes has a tremendous practice facility. From numerous practice greens to a solid and interesting driving range to a very detailed and creative short game area. The answers to your game’s issues are there somewhere.

I also noticed a putting course which had just been seeded. I imagine it will be fully operational by the 2018 season, if not sooner.

The clubhouse is large and elegantly appointed inside and out. Inside the clubhouse are a few rooms, a restaurant, and the pro shop. The shop is fully stocked with great gear and apparel.

Forest Dunes Golf

The clubhouse as seen from the 18th fairway

I enjoyed several great meals in the restaurant. Two of them were smoked filet mignons with baked potato and French onion soup.  The reason I had a second one was because the first one was so good.  No, they weren’t at the same sitting.

In addition to the rooms in the clubhouse, there are “villas” which are about a one minute walk from the clubhouse or any of the courses’ first tees. The villas have numerous rooms, with shared living space. Each room has its own shower. The shared living space in the villas feature large cushy reclining chairs, couches, a large flatscreen TV, kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, and kitchen table.

Villa sweet villa

I stayed in one of the villas (photo above) and loved it, sans a closet or somewhere to hang up my expensive golf shirts.

Bring bug spray.

I had a fantastic time taking on the challenge of Forest Dunes Golf Club. The variation between nines, immaculate conditioning and maintenance, and fabulous design made it one of my favorite golf experiences of the year.

Forget boring flat Florida golf or the other traditional golf travel locations. The Loop and Forest Dunes golf club are the perfect recipe for a memorable golf buddy trip.

The Loop at Forest Dunes review

Villa Mandarine, Rabat Morocco

On my recent trip to Morocco I had the opportunity to stay at some truly special and unique places, and I’m excited to share those places and experiences.  Today’s review/share is of the Villa Mandarine, in Rabat Morocco .

Before I cover the Villa itself, let’s get some geography information.  Rabat is the capitol of Morocco.  It is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, about one hour northeast of Casablanca.

golf travel influencer

The city’s population is roughly 580,000. I’ll cover nearby attractions and activities later.

Villa Mandarine Overview

Villa Mandarine is a small, secluded oasis minutes from all the action in Rabat.  It’s practically in a residential area, hidden behind a wall around the edge of the property, which is traditional in much Moroccan architecture.

The Grounds

Inside the grounds is a practical rain forest of vegetation, immaculately maintained.  The three-acre estate features 700 orange trees and tons of flowers.

Small trails wind around and lead to sitting areas, sculptures, activities, and of course the villas themselves.

There are 31 villas and 5 suites at Villa Mandarine. Each villa has a large main room, entry, large bathroom and fantastic terrace overlooking the grounds.

The quarters are very warm and welcoming, as are the hotel lobby, restaurants, and bar.  The luxury rooms are so inviting and relaxing, it’s hard to decide whether to stay in or venture out to the terrace, or the grounds to soak in the mellow vibe.

If you can’t relax here, there’s probably no hope for you.

Along with the beautiful and serene gardens, guests can lounge at the swimming pool and hot tub.

If you fancy a game of ping pong, you’re covered. I had a great match with fellow golf blogger and golf buddy John Duval, from IntoTheGrain.com.

Food & Beverage

The restaurant at Villa Mandarine is fantastic.  I enjoyed several meals there, featuring traditional moroccan dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  There are selections for every possible palette, including a kids menu.  Lunch out on the terrace was particularly great, between the excellent food and the fabulous environment.

Villa Mandarine’s bar/lounge is great.  Every possible drink is served and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting.  I could kick myself… well I have actually been kicking myself, for not enjoying some of the Cuban cigars there.

Nearby Attractions and Activities

There is some fantastic golf nearby, at Dar Es Salaam Golf Club.  Dar Es Salaam is an award winning Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design, lined with mature trees and featuring some tremendous golf holes.

In the city of Rabat one can find fantastic shopping and dining at the Medina. Be sure to rock the Kasbah. For sightseeing I recommend visiting the historic Hasaan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammad V. Don’t forget to visit the Royal Palace.

Mausoleum of Mohammad V, Rabat Morocco

Mausoleum of Mohammad V, Rabat Morocco

Last but not least, Rabat is on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the beaches and you’ll see why Morocco is a well known secret haven for surfing huge waves.

A visit to Morocco should be on everyone’s bucket list. The sights, tastes, sounds, golf, and experiences will be remembered and cherished for a lifetime. Villa Mandarine fits right into that formula, providing a tremendous, welcoming, and comfortable home base.

Review: Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, Morocco

On my recent golf trip to Morocco I had the fabulous opportunity to stay at the 5-Star Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in El Jadida, Morocco. Mazagan Beach & Golf is a very large resort with hotel, casino, spa, huge pool, beach on the Atlantic Ocean, and a Gary Player design golf course .

What a tremendous location Mazagan Beach & Golf occupies. It’s basically and oceanside paradise lined with palm trees. The huge grounds are immaculately maintained and full of fantastic designs and creative landscapes.

The restaurant featured a musician playing a stringed instrument I’m not familiar with. Looked like a bouzouki but it wasn’t. Then after that we were treated to a belly dancer who was fantastic.

John (GolfBlogger.com) enjoys the show

John (above) enjoyed watching the belly dancer, but yours truly was the one she picked to dance. Never before have such awful dance moves (mine, not the belly dancer’s) been on display in the content of Africa. I guarantee it.

I had NO idea how many knots I had in my back.  It was a great thing that I was able to get a massage while at Mazagan.  The masseuse was incredible.  She found, and resolved knots in places I didn’t know existed.  It really helped out my endurance and flexibility for the rest of the golf trip.

While working out some knots the masseuse, who spoke nearly zero english asked, “you work on computer?”  She could tell. I responded, “world famous golf blogger. If I’m not on the golf course I’m at the computer penning Blogitzer Prize winning golf blog posts.”  Actually, I just said yes.

I did not test my luck at the casino, though I did take a quick look in. Very nice. My bank account thanked me for my self-control.

I’ll be posting a review of the Gary Player designed Mazagan Golf Club soon. The course runs along Mazagan beach. Huge breakers crash in on the shore. Huge. Now I know why some friends of mine take the trip to Morocco to surf.

golf travel influencer

The course is very fun to play, and not so difficult that it demoralizes you.

Final Thoughts

Think outside of North America.

Casablanca, Morocco is a 6.5 hour flight from JFK Airport in New York. From there it’s not a long drive to Mazagan. Rather than traveling in the USA or to Mexico for your next golf trip, you could be in fabulous Morocco enjoying a 5-Star resort, great food, beach, surfing, gaming, lodging, and golf at Mazagan.

Last call for the ultimate Pinehurst trip

Can these YouTubers keep a PGA Tour secret for 2 months? Time to find out

Among the participants in a PGA Tour qualifier held earlier this week was, from left, Dan Rapaport, Peter Finch, Fat Perez and Grant Horvat.

If you missed the results from the 18-hole PGA Tour qualifier in Myrtle Beach, S.C., earlier this week, that was by design. Not only are the scores unavailable, the event’s 16 participants are, for the better part of the next two months, contractually prohibited from talking, tweeting or in any other way disseminating information about how they fared.

Wilder still, half of the field was comprised of golf-obsessed podcasters, personalities and influencers with massive YouTube, TikTok and Instagram followings. Publicly crowing about their golf pursuits is literally their jobs, and yet after competing in arguably the biggest event of their careers, a first-of-its-kind competition that awarded the winner a spot in the PGA Tour’s Myrtle Beach Classic in May? Yep, crickets.

“It is kind of an interesting social experiment,” Dan Rapaport, a Barstool Sports personality who played in the event, told me by phone. “It’s, like, get people who what they do for a living is talk about themselves and golf, have them play in this big event, hype it up and then everyone just goes silent for two months.”

The formal name of the event is The Q at Myrtle Beach, and it was conducted Monday at TPC Myrtle Beach, a challenging Tom Fazio-Lanny Wadkins design that lacks for neither sand nor water. That one of the influencers triumphed is far from a certainty — in fact, odds are one didn’t — because the other half of the field was filled out by pros, including the likes of 2021 NCAA Div. 1 champion and former LIV golfer Turk Pettit and Korn Ferry winner Matt Atkins. The YouTubers are no hacks — each was handpicked to play in part because they maintain handicaps of scratch or better — but still, when it comes to posting a score in the heat of competition, there is a wide chasm between most elite amateurs and pros.

However you feel about a pack of content creators being handed an opportunity to vie for a PGA Tour start, it’s hard to dispute that the event wasn’t an inventive marketing tool for a rookie Tour event. Or at least it will be when the golf world finally learns how the qualifier played out. That reveal won’t happen until April 23 by way of a 90-minute recap video on Play Golf Myrtle Beach’s YouTube page, soon after which the influencers will be permitted to publish and promote their own content about their experience. In other words, if you subscribe to or follow the likes of Fore Play, Good Good or Bob Does Sports, come late April be prepared for a rush of video from the TPC Myrtle showdown.

For the Myrtle Beach Classic, which will be contested May 9-12 at Dunes Golf and Beach Club (the same week as the loaded-field Wells Fargo Championship), that will mean a publicity boon — and getting in front of audiences that might not be regular PGA Tour watchers. And sizable audiences at that. Among the YouTubers in the field was Grant Horvat , who played on the golf team at Palm Beach Atlantic University and has more than 1.35 million combined subscribers and followers on his social feeds; Peter Finch , a UK-based YouTuber with more than 1.25 million subscribers and followers; and Luke Kwon , a Good Good member who has made 50 starts on PGA Tour-sanctioned tours and has a social following of nearly 400,000. (Good Good’s YouTube page has another 1.4 million subscribers.) All in, that’s a lot of eyeballs.

“We realize where we are on the PGA Tour schedule so anything we can do to shine a light on the Myrtle Beach Classic, we are certainly open to,” said Darren Nelson, the event’s tournament director. “The [qualifying] concept is one of a kind, and honestly we kind of hope it stays that way. We’ve had some other PGA Tour events reach out to our team, like, ‘Man, I wish I would have thought of that.’ So that tells you right there that we’re onto something that’s unique and different and that people are noticing.”

To prevent the awkward lag between the event’s conclusion and the disclosure of its winner, could the qualifier not have been aired live? It could have, sure, but that would have been much more costly and also resulted in a different kind of production than what tends to resonate on YouTube.

“By basically shooting it as a YouTube video, which is what they did, they take cameras out there and we were wearing mics,” Rapaport said. “It’s kind of the same thing that we do normally when we film golf rounds, and it gives them to chance to distill it down to the best bits and make a really compelling piece of content as opposed to just people seeing how the qualifier played out by players making scores.”

This guy’s agonizing hole-in-one quest is hard to take your eyes off

To prevent any scoring leaks, tournament organizers required each of the competitors to sign non-disclosure agreements. Rapaport, for one, said he’s committed to keeping up his end of the bargain. “We had a Barstool Classic event yesterday, and I was asked the question a hundred times,” he said of what he posted at TPC Myrtle. “I just kept on saying somewhere between 64 and 80.”

He added: “We’re all humans here. You’re going to tell your wife how you played or even your podcast cohost how it went. I think they just don’t want someone to go on a podcast and say, ‘Here’s who won. Here’s how I played. Here’s how everyone played.’ I think people realize that a rising tide lifts all ships when it comes to YouTube golf or influencer golf, and so I think everyone’s on board with playing by the rules. We signed up for this thing knowing that we weren’t going to be able to talk about it, and someone going out there on his podcast or YouTube channel and saying I shot this, this or this, it just ruins it for everyone.”

Rapaport said the course setup was difficult, with thick rough and tucked pins, which caught him off guard. “I was sort of expecting that they were going to set it up easy, because they wanted to avoid the perception that these guys [the influencers] all stink and you’re not worthy of a spot in a qualifier for a PGA Tour event.”

Nelson, the tournament director, said they were targeting a setup length of 6,950 yards, but he was unsure if any tees were moved up to account for wind. “The idea was to be able to simulate what they’ll face over at the Dunes Club,” he said.

The field was sent off in four groups of four, with two influencers paired with two pros. No fans were permitted on property, but with the pros going about their business as they typically do and the YouTubers’ exuding nervous energy, Rapaport said “it felt like a big-time event.”

“Tournament golf is just a different beast,” he said. “You get comfortable playing on camera for YouTube, which is more stressful than playing by yourself. But then playing when you know there’s going to be a score — especially for an event like this when you know fans of YouTube golf are going to be comparing everyone’s scores, and knowing that you’re going to be judged at the end of the round, just changes your whole comportment on the golf course.”

Rapaport declined to say whether the qualifier was decided by a clutch putt or other heroics, or if there was any kind of post-round celebration of the champion on the 18th green. But he did say that toward the end it became clear who was going to prevail, and that the YouTubers were eager to compare their results with one another. “You want to shoot the lowest score,” he said.

And now? Well, now we wait to see what happened — which in our instant-gratification, information-flooded, social-media-driven world is not something to which sports fans are accustomed.

“There will definitely be a lot of content,” Rapaport said. “It’ll just be a matter of if we can keep it secret until then. I think we can. I have faith in us.”

Who Are Influencers and What Do They Do?

golf life navigators marketplace

Jason Becker, CEO of Golf Life Navigators Recognized as an industry influencer in BoardRoom Magazine

Simply put, an influencer is a person that influences another… they have the ability to influence potential buyers (or in the case of private clubs, members) by promoting or recommending certain services, items or actions.

“Distinguished influencers in the private club industry strive to improve a member experience at clubs. Clubs listen to these people. People who are advocators… for betterment of club members, and it’s important that we recognize their contributions,” explained John Fornaro, CEO and publisher of Boardroom magazine, and CEO of BoardRoom’s Distinguished Clubs.”

That’s because everyone that works in or is a vendor or represents an association in the private club industry, understands that the number one purpose is the happiness of the members at private clubs, because members ultimately pay for everything the clubs buy, including their member experience. Influencers affect purchasing decisions because of their knowledge, their panache, the authority they’ve developed and their relationships with a particular audience…in this case, a niche audience in the private club industry.

Influencers are also recognized by the number of people they influence…and the impact they have while working with their audiences.

“These influencers we meet here are focused on the private club industry. They’re consistent with their message but evolve (to meet and accept change) when need be,” Fornaro added.

“In many cases, influencers are not just association leaders or corporate giants. Often they’re individuals who have dedicated their working lives to the private club industry.

Jason Becker, CEO of Golf Life Navigators, Naples, FL

1) There are two important assets that GLN brings to the table: a) The industry’s only virtual marketplace to connect with prospective members who are seeking their ideal club membership and lifestyle, and b) a crystal ball of buying trends, data and analytics on what the future club member is saying today.

We understand and appreciate how imperative it is to not only create a pipeline of prospective members, but also to understand what the future golf member is looking for in their ideal club community.

2) Our goal in 2019 is to be one of the top influencers in the club industry for new member recruitment with the launch of our virtual marketplace.

Finally, we seek to become the premier influencer and “go-to” for boards across the country when it comes to analytics and trends needed to help with strategic planning and investing into the future of their club. A by-product of our marketplace, GLN’s data will completely transform the industry into data-driven thinking and directly affect member experience, satisfaction and loyalty.

3) We have taken a proactive approach to educate consumers on the dynamics of a private club. For instance, we have launched our podcast series called Private Clubs 101 along with writing timely editorial.

These educational opportunities not only teach consumers on how a private club operates, but it sets a level of understanding before that consumer becomes a member. We believe this educational effort will create a higher satisfaction level and lead to increased advocacy. We believe with certainty that owners are the best advocates for any business or industry.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.
