I have tried almost every racquet in the market. I know my local tennis shop owner well, so he does not even charge me anymore for demos. Took a flyer on a new Grinta 98 Tour on ****. Tried the Vitas 100 before but was too powerful. About me as a player. 47 year old, athletic (?) male hits like a 5.0 but plays like a 4.4. Very hard Lendl-like (I learned tennis by watching him on TV) flat forehand with semi-western grip and a high-spin one handed backhand very similar to Henin-Hardenne. My current racquet is the Yonex Vcore 98 (Red) Plus (cut down to 27.25 inches). The main reason I like that racquet is it gives extra spin on my hard flat forehand helping the ball get down in the court and is a spin monster on the backhand side. I like the Pure Strike (White) 18x20, but the tight string pattern turns my forehand into just laser beams that hardly get down at all. Specs: 310 gm unstrung Balance: 315mm 27 inch 16X19 strung with Snauwaert Black Beam control oriented crisp poly and a worm-like vibration dampener Flex and Feel : I personally think the RA system for flex is a mostly garbage. For example, Babolat Pure Drive has a RA flex of 71 and it feels stiff and is the only racquet that gives me elbow problems, so much so that I can't use it for more than 90 min. However, Volkl V Sense 7 also has a flex of 71 and that is one of the most comfortable frames I have ever tried. On the other hand, the Tecnfibre XTC 305 has a flex of 65 but feels like an iron pipe with no flex. Great racquet, but not very comfortable. That being said, both the PD and 305 feel like they do not flex at all and I can't use either with a poly as if feels too stiff. THE SNAUWAERT GRINTA 98 TOUR feels pretty similar to the PD and 305, BUT with just a slight bit of flex to add just a bit of comfort. The racquet FEELS INCREDIBLY SOLID. Mishits aren't harsh but you can tell exactly right away where you mishit it. Feels very similar to the XTC 305. It also does not have the vibrations of the PD that drive my elbow nuts. That being said, if you already have arm issues, the Grinta is probably not for you Power : Definitely less than the the PD and PD TOUR, similar to the XTC 305, maybe a tad less. Control : Infinitely more than the PD and PD Tour, a lot more than the XTC 305. In fact, this is the best control racquet I have ever used, even more than 18x20 frames like Wilson Ultra Tour, Pure Strike (White) 18x20 and Head Speed Pros (XT and 360). The only racquet that comes close in terms of control is the Head Graphene XT Prestige MP (18-20) but that racquet gets no spin and has a very low trajectory. That's why the Grinta is so surprising. It actually has very wide spacing for a 16x19, the strings start very close to the edges of the frame, but THIS RACQUET HAS THE MOST CONSISTENT RESPONSE I have seen in a racquet. In case you have not noticed many of the nice new frames, they have pretty equal spacing in the strings between the middle of the head vs. closer to the edges. I thought this helped the racquets have more consistent responses but the Grinta killed that theory somewhat although it's not too dense in the middle. With the consistent response of this racquet, I am so much more consistent and accurate in point-play with this racquet than anything else I have ever tried. It's actually quite shocking, maybe a bigger improvement than Federer going to a 97 inch head. I am so much more confident to swing out. Touch : The XTC 305 is the best volleying and touch racquet I have ever used. Because it does not seem to flex, I feel like I know exactly where the head is and because it does not seem to flex I have a lot of touch control because I do not have to account for the extra power of the racquet flexing and snapping back. The Grinta 98 is very close to the Tecnfibre 305 in this respect, but not quite there, a 9.5 vs a 10. Spin : This is a very big difference/positive for the Grinta. While the 18x20 racquets definitely offer a lot less spin than 16x19 in general, except Head Speed Pro 360 and Prince 100P, which have less dense strings in the middle, the Grinta has a wide spaced 16x19 so it offers a ton of spin, similar to the VCORE 98, giving me that extra spin on the forehand (that I frankly probably don't deserve). SO BASICALLY, I think the Grinta gets a consistent response because of the lack of flex and torque, but the wide 16-19 gives extra spin. It's like a perfect combo. For me, who does not need extra power, that slight shortcoming in the Grinta's power is also a blessing. I can't say enough positives about this racquet, can't wait to try some hybrid string set-ups.

Hi, One hander, glad you like the Grinta 98 Tour!

Thiem's 1HB

Thiem's 1HB

Haven't ever tried one but the specs remind me of an old school Dunlop. Almost certainly going to need some lead though to bring up that swing weight. Grinta 98 Tour Head size: 98 in2 Cross section: 22mm constant beam Length: 27 in String pattern: 16×19 Unstrung specifications Weight: 310g / 11oz Balance: 315mm Frame rigidity: 58 ra Swing-weight: 290 kg cm2 Problem with a racquet like this is though is that it sits in a very competitive market segment with alot of other 98sq" racquets....

RA of 58 unstrung!

SW 290 unstrung would be how much strung?

Depends on the string - 315 to 325 SW.

I have two of these I bought used on this board. For the record, I am an ageing (57) 4.5 player. This is an interesting racquet, it has a plush feel with good plow-through. This is a racquet that does not get pushed around, really sticks volleys. Since I am of the generation that remembered the original Snauwaert line-up, this has nostalgic appeal as well. Overall, it is a decent stick to have in the bag.

Snauwaert Racquet and Strings Review

grinta tour 98

I’ve been trying out the new line of Snauwaert racquet and strings including the Vitas 100 and the Grinta 98 racquet as well as the Black Beam and White Beam Strings and I want to give my impression of this re-release of the Belgian Snauwaert brand.

Snauwaert Grinta 98 specs

grinta tour 98

  • Length 27 in
  • Weight 315 g
  • Stiffness 65 RA
  • Headsize 98 sq.in. / 632 cm²
  • String Pattern 16×16
  • Balance 310 mm
  • Swing weight 290 kg x cm²

grinta tour 98

I do think it reminds me quite a bit in feel of the One Strings Spindeeper 14×19 that I was testing for a while (and still have for sale if you’re interested). It’s not arm-unfriendly at all, but what you need to watch out for is the power. It really does give you what it says: power and spin. I wouldn’t recommend it to people looking for a classic feeling racquet or who wants to serve an volley.

The design of the racquet is pretty cool (Darth Maul) although the head shape with is kind of “triangular” can take some getting used to visually, but doesn’t really impact play in any noticeable way.

Vitas 100 specs

grinta tour 98

  • Weight 300 g
  • Stiffness 71 RA
  • Headsize 100 sq.in. / 645 cm²
  • String Pattern 16×19
  • Balance 315 mm
  • Swing weight 285 kg x cm²

grinta tour 98

I think both the Vitas 100 and the Grinta 98 played well and commend Snauwaert for doing a decent job. Like I said, they wouldn’t be my first choice for control-oriented players or those who like to serve and volley, but for aggressive baselines they stand up pretty well to the competition. I much preferred the racquets over the strings, which I didn’t gel with a hundred percent. The Black Beam felt a bit springy and slippery and I lacked a crispness that I think does the racquets more justice. The White Beam was soft, but had similar flaws and didn’t give me the confidence to hit the Vitas all in.

I wouldn’t say these are bad strings in any way, but compared to the vast choice of today’s tennis industry, I’d easily find a number of strings I prefer.

First of all I want to give kudos to Snauwaert for relaunching their brand and producing well designed and interesting products. The demo kit included two decent racquets, three sets of strings that I personally didn’t gel with and a can of balls which I must say was my favourite of the bunch! They had a nice, softish feel and good durability.

grinta tour 98

What I would have liked to personally see from their line-up of racquets was a flexier, potentially 95-inch racquet, but I realize that those things are becoming a thing of the past. The racquets they had felt modern and fast and should stand up well in comparison to quite a few racquets out there today. They were not my favourite modern racquets out now, but definitely a viable choice. The strings I didn’t enjoy quite as much, but the balls I give thumbs up.

I l campo conferma queste sensazioni.

grinta tour 98

grinta tour 98

grinta tour 98

grinta tour 98

grinta tour 98

grinta tour 98

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).

PGA Tour Players React to Nelly Korda’s Success

Hannah green starts solid in her title defense.

  • Nelly Korda

grinta tour 98

Nelly Korda’s five consecutive LPGA Tour victories have taken the golf world by storm in recent weeks, even catching the eye of some of her male counterparts on the PGA Tour. Take a look at what they had to say about the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1’s success over the past few months.

Scottie Scheffler

“One of the people here asked me, is this turning into a competition between you and Nelly, and I was like, I don't know, man. I think if it's a competition, she's got me pretty beat right now. Five wins in a row. She had that T16 at the beginning of the year, which was just terrible. I can't believe she did that. It's pretty special stuff. To win four times in a row and then show up at a major championship and win is extremely impressive. I'm extremely happy for her. I think we've all seen the golf swing. I wish I could see it more in person, but we don't really run into them too much outside of some TaylorMade shoots and stuff like that. Some great golf, some historic stuff, and hopefully she keeps it up.”

“She finished T16 in her first event this year and the other five she's won. I don't know if I can quite relate to that. That's some pretty serious golf. I'm extremely happy for her and proud of her. That's some pretty special stuff. It's been a treat to watch.”

Billy Horschel

“I had a three-week stretch where I finished second, first, first, and I thought I was something special at that time, but what Nelly and Scottie are doing is unreal. I can't imagine that. And over a period of time, not just five weeks in a row, they've done over six, seven, eight weeks. It's unreal golf. To think about who they're playing against in today's generation of more talented players and doing what they're still doing, I'd say we're not going to see anything like that again, but I'm sure we will. You have to stand up and applaud them because it's pretty special. As a golf fan, I'm just lucky to be able to see that because, at the end of the day, I'm a golf fan at heart.”

J.T. Poston

“I don't know her personally, but five in a row is pretty impressive, and that was a major (Sunday), right; is that correct? That's pretty impressive. Obviously, what Scottie has been doing has been pretty impressive, and for her to reel off five in a row, that's hard to fathom.”

Wyndham Clark

“To win five in a row is amazing. Especially one being a major that she just won. Kudos to her. She's playing amazing and clearly the best female in the world.”
