For those truly epic, once-in-a-lifetime destinations, you want to leave your itinerary to the experts. Whether your dream is to see the Big Five on an African Safari, trek tall mountains, explore European cities, or something even wilder, a group tour is the easiest way to do it.

However, picking the wrong group tour company is the quickest way to ruin your trip. Make sure you choose a tour company that aligns with your goals and travel styles. Do you want an intimate group tour or do you prefer to make lots of new friends in a big group? Does the price line up with what you like (luxury vs. budget)? Is the itinerary going to all the places you want to see?

We’ve done the research and found the very best group travel tour companies for 2023 for every type of traveler.

Best Overall Group Travel: Exodus Travels

These small group tours operate with only around 12-16 people, and always feature experienced local leaders who can give you a unique insight into your destination. Exodus Travels caters to any type of travel style, including trips broken down by type of activity (think walking, cycling, multi-adventure, winter, or cultural) as well as type of traveler (family, age group, etc.). There are curated collections (coastal, “away from it all”, European wilderness, and trips of a lifetime) to inspire you, as well as self-guided options for when you want all the benefits of a group tour planner without the actual group. Looking for that special safari? Exodus Travels just partners with the African Wildlife Foundation to create carefully curated luxury adventures that go above and beyond the standard safari.

Exodus Travels tours work for almost any budget, with options that range from affordable to premium.

Travel + Leisure Readers' 15 Favorite Tour Operators of 2023

The right tour operators can make or break a trip. These specialists came out on top in our annual "World’s Best Awards" survey for 2023 thanks to insider knowledge and personalized service.

international tours reviews

How Voting Works

What readers loved, the full list.

Courtesy of Butterfield & Robinson

While we travel to see the sights, what we really take home with us are the experiences. And finding the right tour operator — one that’s able to meld insider knowledge about a destination with the best ways to take it in — can make or break a trip. But when the right combination does come along, it can be pure magic, so it’s no wonder that the last year has seen group travel on the rise .

Every year for our World's Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Nearly 165,000 T+L readers completed the 2023 survey, an increase of nearly 25 percent over pre-pandemic voting levels. A total of more than 685,000 votes were cast across over 8,500 unique properties (hotels, cities, cruise lines, etc.).

Tour operators and safari outfitters were specifically rated on the criteria below:

  • Staff/guides
  • Itineraries/destinations
  • Accommodations

For each characteristic, respondents could choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores are averages of these responses.

With nine of the companies returning from last year’s list , one major trend that stands out is the focus on a region, like with this year’s No. 1 pick, ATJ, which focuses on luxury travel, ranging from bespoke private to small group itineraries, in Austrasia. Also destination experts are Inside Japan Tours (No. 10), who offer themed trips, from honeymoons to diving, around the island nation, and Vagabond Tours of Ireland (No. 12), which makes its debut on the list, standing out for its B Corporation status, as it guides travelers around the Emerald Isle in their choice of style, either relaxed and culture-focused or active and adventurous.

Also notable are the operators who go a step beyond, like two returning favorites: Artisans of Leisure (returning as No. 3) has been called “top notch”; one reader said that “no other tour operator comes close in terms of knowing the destinations [and] understanding what we want and executing our trip flawlessly.” Black Tomato (dropping from last year’s No. 4 to a still respectable No. 6) manages to both fulfill curiosity and allay FOMO on its adventures globally.

But more than anything, it’s loyalty that shows what a strong tour operator is made of, and readers often raved about return visits with a particular company. One, for instance, shared that after 25 journeys, Du Vine Cycling + Adventure Co. (No. 2) stands out among them all. “The best cycling trips I’ve been on,” they said. “Great staff, accommodations, and first class all the way.” And that’s the winning combo for a tour company — leaving travelers with that passion for exploring the world through their eyes. See the complete list of top 15 tour operators, according to T+L readers, below.

Courtesy of ATJ

Formerly known as Asia Transpacific Journeys, ATJ made the list in 2011, 2017, and 2018, and it now leapfrogs back in triumphantly, notching the No. 1 spot. Offering tours in countries like Australia, Bhutan, Japan, Laos, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Vietnam, and Taiwan, the company specializes in custom itineraries and private group trips. But what travelers rave about is its band of extremely helpful customer service reps who are “responsive and personable.” They added, “I can call and speak with a live person immediately.” Customers tend to be loyal, but so are the agents: “I have used the same agent and she always remembers what we like and any special needs we have.”

James Justin Gross

We loved every minute of our time on this tour. The program was well thought out and featured a wonderful variety of experiences. It was great fun touring with our group from different parts of the USA. Our guide Marco worked diligently to navigate road conditions, potential rail strike, we learned a lot from his depth of knowledge and familiarity with the places we visited. Italy is a food destination and every meal was better than the last. Tuscany is so strikingly beautiful especially in the Spring. This is our second tour with CIE. It's great to have everything pre-planned. I highly recommend CIE tours.

Cheryl Louise Dolan

Cie tours customer.

I liked Florence the best, could have shipped Bolognia. If I would have known that the 7 and the 10 day tour were combined, I would have taken the 10 day tour. Too difficult to add on then. Guides were wonderful at each city.

The tour director was good at keeping everyone on track. The tour hit all the hot spots. There was a lot packed into every day which could be a bit exhausting for us older folks. Food at the hotels was not up to Italian standards. Tour guides were excellent. Hotels were nice.

Dream vacation!

Excellent service, great guides!

No worries about flights or transfers from and to the airport. Activities were great for a first time traveler to Italy. Great accommodations and daily breakfasts. Lunch and dinners included were great also.

First time with CIE...great tour!

Excursions were great and well organized. Tour director was excellent, as were local guides. Would highly recommend.

Cindy Morlen Sunderland

He told us the history and the legend he was entertaining and thoughtful and very professional, and quite a perfectionist. The rooms were so nice. and the meals were amazing We will be in touch with Molly, Mcshea for our next CIE tour. Thank you so much

Richard Joesph Welch

A learning experience.

guide was very personal and informative

Perfection!!!

This company has top notch customer service. If there was anything we needed, they saw to it that we were taken care of. Everything was provided for us and we could just sit back and enjoy the views, the information given to us while on the bus and ease of making all our special stops , ferries, and other amenities so easy . We were always on time for our tours and had additional to explore parts of the towns on our own. Our tour guide (Marian) and bus driver (Dan Fitzpatrick) have to be the best in the business. Loved EVERYTHING about this tour, including the other passengers on the bus with us. Not sure how they did it, but we were from all over the USA and everyone got along great and felt like family before departing to go back to our individual homes.

Richard Eugene Matthews

Maria & Jon were knowledgeable professional and fun! Transportation was clean & comfortable.

Julie Halsey

Can’t wait for my next one.

Everything was excellent and the hotels were really nice.

Anthony Bartczak

Evergreen ireland tour was fantastic.

The service during our tour with CIE was top notch. Professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful and helpful. Thank you CIE for an amazing vacation.

Laurie Ann Mc Dermott

Struck gold with my “irish gold” tour.

Excellent!!!

Mr. Donald Joseph Barto

The trip was fantastic from start to finish . CIE really knows how to run a trip from top to bottom with no hidden fees .

Alec Edward Brown

Amazing trip.

CIE was very helpful in getting us all the documents and info we needed, and did a great job during the tour keeping us all on track and on schedule. The hotels were beautiful, stops were everything we hoped for and the beer was delightful. Great tour all around.

Give C.I.E. tours a try, you won't regret it!

We were met at the airport and taken as close to our hotel as possible, as we arrived on St. Patrick's Day and the roads were closed for the parade. Exceptional circumstances. Wonderful service and ideas on where to do lunch on our own, always wonderful recommendations. They got us back to the airport in plenty of time for our return flight, also. Service was wonderful.

Donald Frederick Jurgens

Ms. alanna christine raffaele, first timers, honeymooners.

Our tour guide Marian was excellent! She shared all of the information for each day promptly AND gave us vital information about the ins and outs of each location that we visited. She was very informative and had good recommendations for dining experiences. Our coach bus driver, Dan, was fantastic! Together they were very informative and welcoming! I would recommend this specific trip to first timers to Ireland that want the full experience of the iconic sites. This is exactly the trip that everyone needs to take!

To travel independently? Or to travel as part of the group? That is the (cheesy) question!

Okay, if you know this website/blog, you’ll know that it focuses on tips for independent world travel (without an excursion or tour) that let you travel long-term even if you are on a tight budget. It’s just that you need the time and planning to be able to prepare an entire trip yourself.

But I know that some people either don’t like or don’t have the time to prepare all that they need for a trip by themselves ( flights , accommodation , itinerary , transportation , travel insurance , etc….).

In this case, my suggestion is to travel as part of a group tour. Then, basically all the most important parts of your trip will already be taken care of and organized and all you’ll have to do is relax and enjoy.

And there’s nothing wrong with traveling as part of a tour group (even if that’s not something we usually focus on here). You still can have a travel experience that is incredible, all-encompassing, and authentic whether you go on your own or with a tour.

The problem is knowing which company and type of tour to do.

I say this because there are “TOUR GROUPS,” and there are “ tour groups .” In other words, not all tour companies around the world are created equally. And that’s why below we selected some of the best-known and highest-rated tour companies on the market. In other words, they are great travel alternatives if backpacking during your holidays isn’t really your thing.

(But if you want to save money or travel on a tight budget, just keep in mind that it will almost always be a lot cheaper to travel independently. If that’s more your aim, then just follow the sequence on this page to begin planning your next trip yourself.)

The 5 Best Tour Companies for International Travel Around the World

  1. g adventures.

G Adventures type of tours: Fun, relaxed or adventure trips

G Adventures is one of the biggest tour companies for small group travel in the world. They focus on adventure travel at a relatively low cost compared to other companies. They have more than 650 different excursions/adventure tours on all 7 continents! Yes, even to Antarctica (just in case anyone forgot this was a continent ?) and the Arctic (though this doesn’t get to be a continent because it’s basically just a block of ice ☹). And they have guided tours of all kinds: Active, YOLO (for young people aged 18-39), Family, Classic, etc…in other words, you’ll definitely find a tour that’s right for you!

And I, personally, really like the way they give the search results – with maps and tour itineraries – that show you exactly what you’re going to do. This makes it easy to compare different tours.

Pacotes para Austrália

  2. Intrepid

Intrepid type of tours: Fun, relaxed or adventure trips

Along with G Adventures, Intrepid is another one of the biggest international tour operators for adventure travel on the market, offering more than 800 itineraries around the planet. With them, you’ll travel in small groups of lots of adventure and minimal frills. In some cases, depending on the type of excursion (such as a camping excursion), it’s expected that you’ll help prepare dinner together with the other travelers. Don’t worry, all will be explained and led by your guide!

I did a tour similar to this in the middle of the desert in Australia and it was awesome! It helps you build a connection with your group which makes the tour that much better. And like G Adventures, Intrepid also has tours of all kinds such as Family, Biking, Wildlife, etc…it’s hard not to find something you like.

Viagens de aventura

  3. Contiki

Contiki type of tours: trips with a focus on partying, having fun and relaxing

Contiki is famous for organizing guided trips for young people aged 18-35 (they are actually one of the tour companies that don’t allow people outside this range). And they are well-known by one thing: the parties!

With Contiki, a day of visiting tourist attractions in Europe or Australia will usually end in partying, booze and uh…..well, there’s a reason some people call it Sextiki. I’m not saying this based on my opinion, but just google around and you’ll find the same thoughts.

So, Contiki may not be for everyone…but if you’re are traveling alone and beyond tourism also want to meet people from around the world and party, Contiki is the tour company for you! There’s a reason why their catchphrase is #NOREGRETS.

But this doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy Contiki if traveling as a couple or if you aren’t a big partier, but you should know upfront kind of what to expect.

They have tour groups going to the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Latin America, etc…but they are especially awesome for European tours.

  4. Young Pioneer Tours

(mention code DPRKOUT )

YPT type of tours: low-key trips to exotic and hard to reach places

If you’ve read our article about How to Visit North Korea on a Budget , you’ll see that we visited one of the world’s most closed-off countries with Young Pioneer Tours. This is because YPT is a tour company that specializes in, according to them, “budget tours to destinations your mother would rather you not go to.” Places like Turkmenistan, Eritrea, Iran, Transnistria (actually, I visited this last one by myself in one of my Europe trips and wrote about it here ), and other infamous places that are difficult for tourists to get to.

So if you are on the lookout for adventure and uncommon destinations, I’d recommend taking a look at their website.

When booking with Young Pioneer Tours, mention the code DPRKOUT while making your booking to get a free t-shirt and an exclusive North Korea travel guide. Also valid for trips to destinations beyond North Korea.

  5. Tourradar

Tourradar type of tours: tour search engine with all kinds of excursions and travel packages

Unlike the options above, Tourradar doesn’t actually offer their own tours. Instead, they are a big aggregator (or online marketplace) that lists guided tours from companies around the world.

On the website, you can search for and book group tours/packages from more than 500 different operators.

So, if you want to make things easy, just put in the destination you’d like to visit, the month, and the year and Tourradar will give you a gigantic list of guided tour options of all kinds.

During your search, you can also filter by price, duration, age range, style, etc…which makes finding affordable tours pretty easy.

Something that I think is really cool about Tourradar is that they have a section with the best festival tours around the world – like the Tomatina in Spain, Exit in Serbia, Oktoberfest in Germany, and even tours to Carnival in Rio de Janeiro!!

Another great thing about them is that they are always giving away free trips. To enter in one of the contests, just click this link here  or the picture below, put in your name and email….and that’s it! Good luck!!

  7. Trafalgar Tours

Trafalgar type of tours: exclusive travel focused on luxury, convenience, and comfort for selective travelers

Well, as you probably already know, this website/blog isn’t exactly focused on guided trips of luxury and comfort. But, although the tour companies listed above will already be a lot more comfortable than an independent trip weighed down with your own backpack, they tend to attract travelers that are a bit more adventurous and low-key.

But if your travel style is more about relaxing, luxury, and comfort, I recommend you check out Trafalgar. Trafalgar is one of the oldest, most renowned, and exclusive tour operators in the world. They offer more than 230 different itineraries around the world that can also be tailor-made for even the most selective of travelers.

If this sounds like you, take a look at their site and get a tour quote to see if the options are to your taste and style.

So, should I travel with a tour group or by myself?

Pros of traveling with a group tour.

  • As mentioned above, almost everything will be organized for you . So, just relax and enjoy!
  • If you don’t want to travel alone but don’t have a friend or family member to go with you, going with a pre-arranged group will take care of that.
  • You can feel safer because you’ll always be with a guide. In other words, you won’t find yourself lost in the middle of the city or getting cheated by that taxi driver in Santiago del Chile while in an escorted tour.
  • You can access places that are almost “closed” to independent tourists. As an example, we had to visit North Korea with a tour – we explain it here if you want to do the same. The same thing is true of Iran for American and British citizens.
  • It’s easier to get a visa for certain countries. In other words, it’ll often be easier to apply for a visa and have it approved if you already have a tour booked and paid for.
  • Group tours are a great way to meet people and make friends from around the world! Since the tour companies are international, you won’t just be traveling with people from your own country (you can do that at home) . You can find 11 tips to make friends while traveling in our article here .
  • Most of the recommended tour companies here give you some “me time” that’ll let you have some time to explore on your own during the tour. But in some places, like North Korea , this won’t be true as you must always be with a guide. Remember that there’s also the possibility of doing extra travel tours during those “me time” periods if you prefer.
  • It’s guaranteed that you’ll stay in quality and pre-reserved accommodations (so you don’t have to worry about sleeping on a bench in that park in Banff, Canada because it was Easter and everything was full….which I totally don’t know from experience or anything).
  • You’ll have help and support in the case of sickness, theft, loss, accident or any other unexpected problem that can happen during your trip.

Cons of Traveling with a Group Tour

  • Traveling in a group can be frustrating . Not everyone always gets along and sometimes they’ll be disagreements or little cliques. But in general, the type of people who decide to travel with a lot of the tour companies below are open-minded and easy to deal with.
  • If you like having your space, being in a tour group isn’t ideal. Even if the tours suggested below do give you some time to relax and explore by yourself, the “me time” isn’t unlimited.
  • Going with a group tour is almost guaranteed to be more expensive than traveling, planning, and reserving everything yourself.
  • If you end up in a group with an average age different from your own , it can be a bit irritating. Heterogeneous groups with different ages are common on many tours and it’s interesting to hear about different life experiences. But if you’re 21 and the average age of your group is 60, it’s not so interesting.
  • You have to be patient with that couple that is always late to breakfast in the morning or nearly misses the bus after each stop. But this is all part of traveling in a group tour….so, don’t be “THAT couple!!”
  • On that note, remember that you have responsibilities of being a part of the group and you can’t just “do what you want” like you could if you were traveling alone.
  • You are stuck with your group’s schedule . Outside of the “me time” allotted, if you want to catch the bus and stick with the group, you have to follow the schedule. Think the current museum is boring? You have to stay there until the set time is finished. Want to spend more time at the beach? You’ll be cut short when your group starts leaving you behind.

How Do I Choose the Best Tour and Group Travel Company for Myself?

There’s a bunch of factors you need to consider:

  • Type of tour: Since you’ll find tours of all types offered by the companies below, choose the one you’re most interested in: city, train, adventure, cycling, festivals , camping, beach, historical, etc…
  • The age range of tours: If you are 24, you probably don’t want to be part of a tour with the average age of 62! Same idea the other way. Being the oldest person in a tour with a bunch of 23-year-olds that are out late partying every night isn’t that great.
  • Cost of additional activities: In general, the tour packages mentioned below will cover all accommodation and transportation and some of the food and attractions. However, there are almost always additional costs that could be added on during the trip. Things like riding a camel, diving , learning to surf, etc… and if everyone else on the tour is doing it, you probably don’t want to be the only one watching from the sidelines. So, see what the possible extra costs could be (beyond the price of the tour) to make sure they fit into your trip’s budget.
  • Amount of free time: Some people like to do activities with the group all day long (to make the most of what they paid for). But others like some time to head out a bit on their own to explore the city or just relax without their guide at their side. You can usually see how much “me time” or free days you’ll have by looking at a tour’s itinerary.
  • Atmosphere: This is similar to the idea of age above. Some tours are completely focused on young people and partying (I’m talking about you, Contiki !), and others revolve more around history, museums, and cities like a European tour. Then, there are others still with more adventure and less fuss. Research well before deciding!
  • Reviews: As with everything online, you can also find reviews for tours and tour companies. Some reviews are on the company website itself, others you’ll have to search online for. It’s always good to hear what other travelers who’ve actually been on the tours thought of the company, the destination, and the itinerary.
  • Level of physical activity: In almost all of the tours you might check out, there’ll be a level of physical activity number from 1 to 5 (with 1 being the lowest level, and 5 being the highest level). In other words, if you aren’t super active, I wouldn’t try to travel during your vacations with a tour that’s going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro (likely a level 5 on that scale). On the other hand, if you are someone who’s in good shape and likes to exercise, a level 5 tour might be ideal for you. Personally, I love combining travel with exercise !
  • Group size: On average, the companies below work with groups sizes that average 10 people. But there are sometimes bigger groups…though usually not bigger than the number needed to fill up a bus. Check the info about each tour if group size is important to you.
  • Length & dates: This should seem obvious, but worth mentioning! If you can only have very specific days off work, you’ll have to make sure that the tour you want fits into this timeframe. Otherwise, if you have a big enough group, you may be able to arrange your own group tour with the dates of your choice.

How Should I Prepare for my Group Tour (and Save Some Extra Money While I’m at it)?

  • Research and compare the cost of plane tickets yourself . Sometimes, you can buy your plane ticket with the company that you’re doing your tour with (like a tour package), but it’s also worth checking to see if you can find something better yourself. Research and compare what you find with the price the tour company is quoting you to see the best option. If you search yourself online, our article with 16 tips to save on flights can help.
  • Explore different options for travel insurance before purchasing. Just like with flights, usually, you can either buy travel insurance directly with the same company you are buying the tour with, or buy it yourself. To do some research yourself, be sure to check out our article with the 3 best and cheapest travel insurance companies on the market ! And just remember: it’s obligatory to have travel insurance to participate in a tour and you’ll be asked to show proof of the insurance before your trip begins.
  • Try to arrive a few days early in the place where your tour will start. Maybe consider staying around few extra days afterward to relax, as well. This makes sure you aren’t late, can have some time to prepare….and see a new place!
  • If you arrive early or stay late after your tour, book accommodation in advance ! The majority of tour companies will offer some options for hostels/hotels to stay in before or after your trip. Obviously, they’ll earn some extra commission by making a reservation in your name. So, if you want to save in this aspect, consider booking something yourself . Then, you’ll be able to see all of the possible options (and not just the ones the company will push on you). Check out our article with the 6 best websites to find and reserve your hotel or hostel to help.
  • Decide between a shared room or a private room. In most cases, if you are traveling alone, you’ll be put in a room with another solo traveler of the same gender. But if you want to stay in a room alone, you’ll have to pay a bit extra for a “single room supplement.”
  • Be careful with the size of your bag or backpack. Just as with aircrafts, buses, boats, or trains, you’ll probably have a weight limit (about 20 kg) for the bag you bring on the tour.
  • Plan ahead for your passport or visas. The entire process of getting a passport or visa is normally done by the travelers themselves and not by the company that organizes the tour. But as I mentioned, one benefit of going with a tour is that it’s easier to get a visa than if you were going alone.

The Great Adventure Tour

The Great Adventure

The trip was great. My concern is with the tour guide Antia, one morning she wasted everybody on the buses time by waiting more than 30 minutes for a couple who was always running late. This caused a ripple effect and caused us to miss our boat tour and have to take it an hour later then consequently affecting the rest of our day. Because of this we only had 30 minutes to explore Rouen. And when we arrived to Rouen the stores were all closing. When the bus passengers asked her why they couple couldn’t just meet us at our next stop about 30 minutes away instead of causing all of us to miss our boat trip, she yelled at me on the bus in front of all other passengers. Please make sure you give your tour guides some training in basic manners.

Best of Central Europe Tour

Best of Central Europe

It was my very first Intrepid trip and I enjoyed every moment of it. It was more than I expected! I loved the chemistry of the group (I miss them dearly), the accommodation location as well as the included activities. Being in a small group also has a lot of advantages like getting to know each of them personally and build friendships even after the trip. I was just so glad I took the trip through Intrepid!

The Best of Eastern Europe Tour

The Best of Eastern Europe

Very well planned and organized. CEO was round-the-clock attentive to the trip and each individual. Lodgings were excellent and well selected geographically. My only criticism would be that the name of the tour should be Central and not Eastern Europe. Would definitely recommend Gadventures to fellow travelers.

European Discovery (Summer, Start Amsterdam, Classic, 12 Days)

Baltic Experience Tour

Baltic Experience

The Baltic Experience tour was a lot of fun! Our Tour Leader, Agata, was superb! The small tour size (we had six participants) meant we got to know each other well. The tour had a perfect mix of planned group activities and time to explore the sites on our own. The on-line tour description was accurate and extensive. Three cautions: Travel insurance is MANDATORY, somewhat expensive, and not included in the tour price. Many, like me, will commit to the tour not knowing this additional cost will be tacked on. Second, the tour sometimes involves significant walking (up to 30 minutes) from transportation facilities to hotels while carrying your own bags (two weeks of baggage), as well as walking tours that sometimes involve climbing as many as 800 steps. This is a tour for fairly young and fit participants. Finally, European hotels and home-stay facilities generally don't have air conditioning or screened windows, meaning sometimes in the summer you will have to choose between sleeping in hot, stuffy rooms or opening the windows for mosquitoes to enter. All that said, this was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience and I would highly recommend it for fit, adventurous people with positive attitudes who can tolerate occasional less-than-luxurious accommodations.

Britain and Ireland Delight (Summer, 8 Days) Tour

Britain and Ireland Delight (Summer, 8 Days)

An amazing trip. Sarah Rose was the best tour guide we have ever had. Her knowledge of the history of the UK and Ireland was outstanding. We were looked after from the time we met before starting the trip until after we left then bus at the end. The extra activities were a highlight of the trip and Sarah was the bubbly personality that brought the 40 holiday makers together. A special mention to our bus driver Tomek who was on hand all hours to make sure we were at our destinations on time. Always friendly and willing to help if needed. I would highly recommend the trip and the staff that made this an unforgettable expe4ience. Regards John & Mary

First river cruise wont be our last! So relaxing with exquisite dining and accommodations on board. Definitely an older crowd, but you get to know almost everyone on board by the end of the tour and most are very pleasant and having as much fun as we did! So nice compared to big boat cruising; no pressure to see and do all the offerings. many included excursions were nice, with easy low effort walking offered. Transfers were perfect.

Essential Britain & Ireland Tour

Essential Britain & Ireland

Very nice itinerary ... jam packed days and evenings. I chose not to do any of the extra evening excursions that were offered so I was able to use the time to explore every overnight stop on my own. The tour guide was amazing... so full of knowledge about all the countries/areas we visited.

Tour from Athens to Dubrovnik or Split: 7 Balkan countries in 14 days Tour

Tour from Athens to Dubrovnik or Split: 7 Balkan countries in 14 days

It was excellent! Our guide Daniel was the best. Daniel made the whole trip fun, stress free and he was very knowledgeable. The accomodation was lovely and very central. The countries we visited were beautiful but having a guide made it 100% better. We ate incredible local foods and had a great experience with a guide local to the Balkans. Couldn’t recommend the tour enough!

What people love about Europe Tours

Overall, a well organized trip. Eva is an awesome tour guide. Perhaps more cautions and security should be emphasized especially in Italy as some of our luggage and laptop were stolen when checking in at the hotel.
Great experience. Very fun.
The tour was awesome. Too bad it was short. Our Tour leader Noddy perform extremely well job organizing and controlling our big group so we was on time everywhere. Our driver Dennis professionalism is off the charts. Especially when we was driving through narrow streets of Italy. I would recommend this tour to others

What Are Other Pilgrims Saying?

Letter from a pilgrim.

Select International President Edita Krunic

What Your Peers Say About Select

I cannot put into words adequately what it was like to be where Jesus was born, lived, preached, died and was resurrected. It still seems so surreal to me that I touched His tomb, touched Golgotha, touched the slab where He was laid. The God of the universe, who always was, is, and will be allowed me to experience His life on earth. I’ll treasure these memories until I see Him in Heaven (with His grace to get me there).

I’ve never been out of the country so this was an amazing experience for me. Everyone was welcoming and the citizens were friendly and forthcoming. Each place we visited provided me with comfort and I felt at peace during this trip. It definitely was an unforgettable experience.

Our trip to the Holy Land with Stephen Binz and Select International exceeded our expectations! The pilgrimage was well planned and ordered, and everything was first class. Our days were packed, as we were able to visit so many holy sites, and visit them with prayer and often song. There was a beautiful level of spirituality to the trip which I so appreciated.

It was a fast-paced tour, but I can’t image missing anything we saw. Normandy was a highlight and especially Lourdes. What a beautiful experience.

This was my second group pilgrimage and this one was considerably better than the first. The accommodations were great, everything was well planned, the guide and leader were incredibly knowledgeable and the number of significant religious sites we visited was unbelievable. I now have a better understanding of my faith and can relate more to scripture. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Smart Fact đŸ‘‰ïž The Maeklong Railway Market, located southwest of Bangkok, is one of the most unique markets in the world. What sets it apart is that it`s built directly on an active railway track. Several times a day, when the train passes through, vendors swiftly fold back their awnings and merchandise to make way for the train, only to set them up again as soon as it passes. It`s a fascinating display of coordination and efficiency, making the market not only a place to shop for fresh produce and local delicacies but also a must-see attraction. đŸ“œïž #smarTraveler Shirajoy

Japan was an amazing experience!

Japan was an amazing experience for both myself and my daughter. EF tours packed a lot into our itinerary and we felt like we had a great sampling of what Japan has to offer and we both want to return one day to experience some of the sites we saw more in depth and to see new ones that time did not allow on this trip. Spring is a great time to visit and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom while we were there! Our tour director in Japan was full of great information, patient and kind. She worked hard to make sure we all had a wonderful trip and went above and beyond what was expected.

Middle School Italy trip

My son had the beat time of his life on the Italy trip. Daily pictures updates with our kids were a plus. I felt safety of the children was a priority. Miss Martin and all the chaperones were amazing! Overall a great experience that I recommend ! We will definitely join EF tour in other trips if we have the opportunity.

Life-changing experiences for student travelers

Have sent children abroad with EF on two different trips and each was extraordinary. EF puts traveler safety at the top of the priority list, and the local guides who are with them are incredible. Would highly recommend EF and their offerings. Life-changing experiences for student travelers.

High school art trip

Our daughter and her classmates had a fantastic experience in Italy! The trip was fun, flawless, and educational! We travel often and this was a perfectly executed art trip with an extra large group of high school students. Wonderful opportunity for those who wouldn’t otherwise travel. She is looking forward to next years trip!

Italy high school trip

My daughter, Jordan, a sophomore at Burr and Burton High School in Vermont, went to Italy with about 30 of her classmates. Her experience with EF Tours was exceptional. Communicating with the parents helped us prepare her for the trip and feel comfortable with her abroad. I highly recommend them.

When I canceled my automatic transfer

When I canceled my automatic transfer of funds you still tried to pull then charged me late fees. When trying to rectify the situation through you and the teacher that was working on organizing the tour you ignored the situation. My daughter didn’t like Juan saying he was bossy and pushy. I understand a tour guide has to move people along but this wasn’t her complaint ask my daughter for her reasons. I will say however it seemed well organized as far as what to take and when to have things ready. Times were reasonably accurate and things did seem to flow according to their plan.

This tour was incredible

This tour was incredible. We did so many things in Paris and our two tour directors, Eric and Hugues made everything run smoothly and provided us with unforgettable adventures.

School trip went wrong

We got to 2 bus accidents in one day in Paris. The tour guy was disrespectful. For dinner one day, we were fed pork; not everyone ate pork; therefore, I had to spend money to buy dinner. I asked for a vegetarian meal, but I was denied because I did fill out the form for vegetarian. So many things happened, which makes the trip unenjoyable. I felt like I waisted money for myself and my daughter

I only gave them a one star rating

I only gave them a one star rating because zero stars is not an option. I’m not bothering to write about our experience because I don’t want to read their standard “ we’re sorry about your
.., or we take our travelers safety
.. but their insecure “sorry’s” means nothing and they don’t care as long as their goal of keeping your money is achieved. They never give even the smallest amount back for their mess up on tours and are quick to put their name on tours that go well and quicker to blame the tour leaders for things that go bad. Do yourself a favor and keep your money or just throw it in a wishing well if you have money to waste.

The tour was educational and fun

The tour was educational and fun. The tour guide was the best we've had in a long time. The aspects about the trip we didn't like was the hotel in Florence - dirty and it was filled with truck stop drivers. The food choices and quality for dinner was mediocre. The day we went to Rome to see the colosseum there was a large crowd to get through security, which took long time. This then rushed th Roman Forum and lunch so we could get to the Vatican on time. Maybe separate out these two area tours to different days during the busier months.

Costa Rica with Gustavo!

I joined my daughter, her teacher, and other students on the Costa Rica trip. We LOVED it! It's a beautiful country and the locals were just lovely and very welcoming. The experiences we had were amazing and we learned SO much from our guide Gustavo. He was there every step of the way. We were very active on this trip - lots of challenging hiking, zip lining (it was awesome), and snorkeling/swimming. We saw and learned about so many birds and animals, and we hiked a volcano. It was surreal. The hotels and bus were comfortable. Our favorite hotel was the Buena Vista Lodge-the sunsets were breathtaking! Our only disappointment is that it was advertised as a week-long trip. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and our flights home were early morning the following Friday, so we felt like we were robbed of an entire day. We should have traveled home the following Saturday. We also had a very long layover (6 hours) between flights which was daunting, but we made the best of it as we had all bonded during this wonderful trip. I would absolutely recommend EF Tours, Gustavo, and Costa Rica. It's the most gorgeous place. Pura Vida!

London, wales, and Dublin tour

Our tour guide Patty was friendly, informative and very well organized. She communicated very effectively both verbally and via the app. We got to see so much in the places we visited with plenty of time for both guided tours and free time to explore. The variety of experiences was exceptional. Tours both walking a bus, shopping experiences, chance to ride public transportation, cultural activities like dancing and singing and music, museums, castles and even a farm. All the tour guides were amazing! This was an incredible experience for both my daughter and I.

EF Europe tour

Just got back from a tour to Europe. We did Italy, Switzerland, and France in a week. We went as a group from Boonville, NY. We had the absolute best tour guide so I really just wanted to put that out there to thank her. Rossella Ibba spoke four languages, very knowledgeable, and tried to accommodate everyone’s needs. She has such a bubbly personality and set the mood every morning for positivity (no matter how early). â˜ș I was looking at all the pictures and really just wanted to put it out there that she is appreciated. She is such a good fit for this job and made our experience unforgettable! So thank you Rossella from the bottom of our heart. Dara and Englyn Payne 💕

The tour guide for our students was

The tour guide for our students was fantastic. The hotel accommodations where decent. The only big change I would suggest is letting the families know of the change in return travel documents that EF requires with the hard deadlines in order for families to pick up there students and travel after the school trip is complete. I would also let school or students know ahead of time that the student is responsible for purchasing lunch daily. We did not know that we had to purchase lunch ever day making the cash brought on the trip a bit different for our student.

Great on Tour, but needs improvement back home!

I really stand behind the Tour once on the ground at EF. The activities on Service Learning tours are awesome, the Tour Directors are always amazing, and we always have dependable bus drivers. My students and I always have amazing experiences while on tour. However, the overall experience has a lot to be desired. My trip consultant has changed countless times since starting to work with EF. Each time, they want me to “hop on a call” and talk to them about my travel program. I don’t have time for this. If they are new, it’s their job to get up to date on their long standing clients. I also have had to explain every single time the policies of my district. They don’t seem to understand the ins and outs of Superintendent and School Committee approval. They are also incredibly pushy, and have completely turned off my colleagues from wanting to work with them.

Hi Jessica, thank you for your review and feedback. We understand your frustration and we apologize if your experience has been less that easy. We will make sure to get your feedback to the correct people so we can improve and continue our relationship with you and your students!

Madrid-Paris Tour

The three cities er visited had plenty of things to keep us occupied with amazing views, places to see and a variety of things to do. Things were not just pointed out to the students, but they were able to see for themselves. We had an amazing Tour Guide, who knew the cities well.

A wonderful first trip abroad with EF

Our language Immersion school used EF to do our first trip abroad. As we prepared for the trip, the company provided training for me as a chaperone. They also provided the material to prepare the students before our trip. Our small group of middle schoolers went to the the French Riviera Tour. This tour made it's way to Paris. We saw so much of France and the different regions and landscapes. It was beautiful. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and professional. The students had a great time and a very good experience. I think they matured in so many ways and I know this was a life changing experience. I would definitely recommend this experience.

Touring Greece was amazing

Touring Greece was amazing. Our tour guide Olda was superb, knowlegable kind and acommodating to all our needs. The only thing i would have wanted was the rest the first day we arrived. it is a bit much to hit the ground running after such a long flight from the US to Greece and not be able to rest first. Some of us were unfortunate to not be able to rest on the flight and could have used the first day to acclimate. Otherwise I highly recommend and encourage you all to meet Olda in person. you will have a beautiful time and learn so much with the perfect guide.

Our daughter had a great

Our daughter had a great story/experience for every day she was with the tour! The drivers/tour guides were fabulous. They were knowledgeable and funny! It was super organized and really had the time well spent well-budgeted! Would recommend to an student!

A cruise to nowhere: Royal Caribbean sailing canceled after guests boarded

international tours reviews

A Royal Caribbean International Alaska voyage became a cruise to nowhere over the weekend, with the line canceling the sailing after guests had already boarded.

The cruise line’s Radiance of the Seas ship experienced propulsion issues, forcing it to shorten and eventually scrap the weeklong itinerary, according to notices shared with guests. The sailing was originally set to depart from Vancouver on Friday.

Charlene Chong, who was on board with her husband, their 3-year and 11-month-old children, and her parents, said passengers were notified Saturday afternoon that the cruise was canceled. The 34-year-old teacher and her husband previously took a cruise for their honeymoon, but this marked their first trip with Royal Caribbean.

“My parents had wanted to go to Alaska for a really long time,” said Chong, who lives in Vancouver.

The cruise line warned guests several days before boarding that the ship had a “technical issue with its propulsion system,” according to an email sent to passengers that Chong shared with USA TODAY. The line later pushed the departure back by two days to allow more time for repairs.

Royal Caribbean said boarding would proceed as planned but that the terminal would close Friday evening due to U.S. Customs and Border Protection rules. Passengers would not be able to leave until the ship arrived at Icy Strait Point.

“We were going stir crazy a little bit,” said Chong.

Royal Caribbean gave guests onboard credit worth two days of their fare, a future cruise credit of the same amount, complimentary drinks and other compensation, another email said.

According to Chong, the ship sailed toward a nearby cargo port, but the captain announced Saturday afternoon that the sailing could not proceed and that guests would need to disembark by Sunday at 4 p.m. Chong said she and her family were “lucky” they were local, but she saw other guests scrambling to change their flights and find accommodations.

Your cruise was canceled: Now what?

“We understand the disappointment due to this unfortunate turn of events,” the cruise line said in a letter shared with guests. “We truly extend our sincerest apologies for the continued unforeseen disruptions to your vacation.”

Royal Caribbean gave them their money back as onboard credit with any remaining amount refunded, increased their future cruise credit to 100% of their fare and kept its open-bar policy for the remaining time on board. The line also offered to reimburse trip change fees up to $250 for guests traveling domestically and $400 for international travel and additional reimbursements for hotel and transportation costs, among other compensation.

“Due to a technical issue, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the April 26 sailing," a Royal Caribbean spokesperson said in an emailed statement. "Guests will receive a full refund and 100% future cruise credit, and have been notified directly.” The spokesperson did not comment on the specifics of Chong's experience.

The ship will resume service for its May 3 sailing.

After they got home, Chong and her family booked a trip to Mexico instead – though her parents decided not to join as they were “a bit exhausted by the whole ordeal.” For now, she’s not inclined to use the future cruise credit. “I would like to go to Alaska,” she said. “I'm not sure if I want to go with them.”

The Best Personal Item Bags

Nomad Lane Bento Bag under airplane seat.

Catriona Kendall | U.S. News

When you're traveling on an airplane, there are certain items like your wallet, phone, passport, medications and earbuds that you always want to keep close. These are the items you'll want to pack in your personal item bag, along with other in-flight comfort items or perhaps a few souvenirs you're bringing home with you. When it comes to a personal item, there are many options that could be right for you, though keep in mind what airlines will allow can vary.

What size is a personal item bag?

This item can be a purse , bag or backpack that easily fits under the seat in front of you. For most domestic airlines, your personal item should be 18 x 14 x 8 inches or smaller. Most airlines allow passengers to bring one carry-on bag that goes into the overhead bin and one personal item bag that can be stowed under the seat. For both carry-on and personal item bags, it's important to check your airline's carry-on luggage size requirements and policies.

To help you decide what personal item bag meets your needs, our editors shared their go-to bags they personally use when traveling by air.

Osprey Nebula 32 in red leaning against a tree.

Zach Watson | U.S. News

Price: $140 or less

This spacious backpack offers the design features of a more technical backpack − like a removable webbing belt along with top and bottom compression straps − but with an emphasis on everyday needs. There are numerous interior pockets to keep all of your travel essentials securely stowed, a TSA-approved laptop sleeve and a front zippered organization pocket. The exterior has two deep, adjustable side pockets that can fit two Nalgene-size water bottles. The Osprey Nebula 32 features two padded straps and a breathable back to help make carrying the bag more comfortable, even in humid climates.

My Osprey Nebula 32 is in the running for my oldest personal possession; I've used it for over a decade. That means this Nebula pack started as a college backpack, lugging my textbooks between classes in Chicago snowstorms before joining me in Washington, D.C., where it kept my belongings safe on my humid (and occasionally rainy) bike commutes. Now, I primarily use my backpack for hiking and flying, and it still holds up remarkably well despite my regular mistreatment. I don't intend to replace my go-to personal item anytime soon, so this Osprey backpack has absolutely justified its admittedly high upfront cost. – Zach Watson , Senior Editor

Duncan Backpack in gray on seat.

Alissa Grisler | U.S. News

Price: $59.99 or less

Durable and ideal for everyday use or adventures afar, this backpack has a simple design with plenty of packing space. The spacious interior can hold a lot, including your toiletry bag, reading material, change of clothes and more. The laptop sleeve and variety of compartments help to keep items organized and in place. The exterior offers adjustable padded shoulder straps and a waist strap for comfort, a headphone opening, two mesh pockets and a front zippered compartment.

When purchasing a bag, I am looking for something that is durable and multifunctional. With its many storage compartments and large carrying capacity (perfect for the chronic over-packer or anyone who just can't say no to a souvenir), this bag is perfect for both travel and everyday use. – Alissa Grisler , Editor

Lipault City Plume 24H Bag 2.0 on table.

Rachael Hood | U.S. News

Price: $135 or less

Lightweight and constructed with water repellent nylon, this bag is durable, yet sophisticated. There are two large front pockets for smaller items like a 3-1-1 bag, headphones, wipes and small travel essentials, plus a side pocket for a water bottle or small items. Inside, the spacious interior compartment has a large zippered pocket, two slip pockets and a mesh pocket for keeping things organized, in addition to room for a toiletry bag, in-flight needs and souvenirs you find along the way. The bag features a separate zippered laptop compartment on the back, along with a trolley sleeve to attach it to your carry-on bag, like the coordinating Plume Cabin Size Spinner . What's more, it folds flat to save space when not in use.

I bought my original Lipault City Plume bag for my first trip to Europe over a decade ago. It's been a top pick for my travels for years, and it still looks and works great. The updated City Plume 24H Bag 2.0 is beautifully constructed, stays looking great even through the rigors of travel, fits perfectly under the seat and holds a lot. – Rachael Hood, Senior Editor

How we rate the best international travel insurance »

Compare the top international travel insurance

As a general rule, the most important coverage to have in a foreign country is travel medical insurance , as most US health insurance policies don't cover you while you're abroad. Without travel medical coverage, a medical emergency in a foreign country can cost you. You'll want trip cancellation and interruption coverage if your trip is particularly expensive. And if you're traveling for an extended period of time, you'll want to ensure that your policy is extendable.

Here are our picks for the best travel insurance companies for international travel.

Best overall: Allianz

Allianz Travel Insurance  offers the ultimate customizable coverage for international trips, whether you're a frequent jetsetter or an occasional traveler. You can choose from an a la carte of single or multi-trip plans, as well as add-ons, including rental car damage, cancel for any reason (CFAR) , adventure sport, and business travel coverage. And with affordable pricing compared to competitors, Allianz is a budget-friendly choice for your international travel insurance needs.

The icing on the cake is Allyz TravelSmart, Allainz's highly-rated mobile app, which has an average rating of 4.4 out of five stars on the Google Play store across over 2,600 reviews and 4.8 out of five stars from over 22,000 reviews on the Apple app store. So, you can rest easy knowing that you can access your policy and file claims anywhere in the world without a hassle.

Best for exotic trips: World Nomads

World Nomads Travel Insurance  offers coverage for over 150 specific activities, so you can focus on the adventure without worrying about gaps in your coverage.

You can select its budget-friendly standard plan, starting at $79. Or if you're an adrenaline junkie seeking more thrills, you can opt for the World Nomads' Explorer plan for $120, which includes extra sports like skydiving, scuba diving, and heli-skiing. And World Nomads offers 24/7 assistance, so you can confidently travel abroad, knowing that help is just a phone call away.

Best for trip interruption: C&F Travel Insured

C&F Travel Insured offers 100% coverage for trip cancellation, up to 150% for trip interruption, and reimbursement for up to 75% of your non-refundable travel costs with select plans. This means you don't have to worry about losing your hard-earned money on non-refundable travel costs if your trip ends prematurely.

Travel Insured also stands out for its extensive "reasons for cancellation" coverage. Unlike many insurers, the company covers hurricane warnings from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Best for family coverage: Travelex

Travelex Travel Insurance offers coverage for your whole crew, perfect for when you're planning a family trip. Its family plan insures all your children 17 and under at no additional cost. The travel insurance provider also offers add-ons like adventure sports and car rental collision coverage to protect your family under any circumstance. Got pets? With Travelex's Travel Select plan, you can also get coverage for your furry friend's emergency medical and transportation expenses.

Read our Travelex Travel Insurance review here.

Best for long trips: Seven Corners

Seven Corners Travel Insurance offers specialized coverage that the standard short-term travel insurance policy won't provide, which is helpful if you're embarking on a long-term trip. You can choose from several plans, including the Annual Multi-Trip plan, which provides medical coverage for multiple international trips for up to 364 days. This policy also offers COVID-19 medical and evacuation coverage up to $1 million.

You also get the added benefit of incidental expense coverage. This policy will cover remote health-related services and information, treatment of injury or illness, and live consultations via telecommunication.

How to find the right international travel insurance company

Different travelers and trips require different types of insurance coverage. So, consider these tips if you're in the market to insure your trip.

Determine your needs

  • Consider the nature of your travel (leisure, business, or adventure) and the associated risks (medical emergencies, trip cancellations, etc.).
  • Determine your budget and the amount of coverage you require.
  • Consider the duration of your trip and the countries you'll be visiting, as some policies won't cover specific destinations.

Research the reputation of the company

  • Look for the company's reviews and ratings from reputable sources like consumer advocacy groups and independent website reviews.
  • Check the provider's financial stability and credit ratings to ensure it can pay out claims reliably.
  • Investigate the company's claims process to ensure it can provide timely support if you need to file a claim.

Compare prices

  • Get quotes from multiple providers to compare rates and coverage options.
  • See if the company provides discounts or special offers to lower your cost.
  • Look at the deductible or any out-of-pocket expenses you may have to pay if you file a claim to determine if you can afford it.

Understanding international travel insurance coverage options

Travel insurance can be confusing, but we're here to simplify it for you. We'll break down the industry's jargon to help you understand what travel insurance covers to help you decide what your policy needs. Bear in mind that exclusions and limitations for your age and destination may apply.

Finding the best price for international travel insurance

Your policy cost will depend on several factors, such as the length of your trip, destination, coverage limits, and age. Typically, a comprehensive policy includes travel cancellation coverage costs between 5% and 10% of your total trip cost.

If you're planning an international trip that costs $4,500, you can expect to pay anywhere from $225 to $450 for your policy. Comparing quotes from multiple providers can help you find a budget-friendly travel insurance policy that meets your needs.

How we reviewed international travel insurance companies

We ranked and assigned superlatives to the best travel insurance companies based on our insurance rating methodology . It focuses on several key factors, including:

  • Policy types: We analyzed company offerings such as coverage levels, exclusions, and policy upgrades, taking note of providers that offer a range of travel-related issues beyond the standard coverages.
  • Affordability: We recognize that cheap premiums don't necessarily equate to sufficient coverage. So, we seek providers that offer competitive rates with comprehensive policies and quality customer service. We also call out any discounts or special offers available.
  • Flexibility: Travel insurance isn't one-size-fits-all. We highlight providers that offer a wide array of coverage options, including single-trip, multi-trip, and long-term policies.
  • Claims handling: The claims process should be pain-free for policyholders. We seek providers that offer a streamlined process via online claims filing and a track record of handling claims fairly and efficiently.
  • Quality customer service: Good customer service is as important as affordability and flexibility. We highlight companies that offer 24/7 assistance and have a strong record of customer service responsiveness.

We consult user feedback and reviews to determine how each company fares in each category. We also check the provider's financial rating and volume of complaints via third-party rating agencies.

International travel insurance FAQs

Which company has the best international travel insurance.

The best insurance policy depends on your individual situation, including your destination and budget. However, popular options include Allianz Travel Insurance, World Nomads, and Travel Guard.

Are there any limitations or exclusions international travelers should be aware of?

You should pay attention to any limitations regarding covered cancellations, pre-existing conditions, and adventure activities. For example, if you're worried you may have to cancel a trip for work reasons, ensure that you've worked at your company long enough to qualify for cancellation coverage, as that is a condition with some insurers. You should also see if your destination has any travel advisories, as that can affect your policy.

What insurance do you need for international travel?

Typically, your regular health insurance won't cover you out of the country, so you'll want to make sure your travel insurance has adequate medical emergency coverage. Depending on your travel plans, you may want to purchase add-ons, such as adventure sports coverage, if you're planning on doing anything adventurous like bungee jumping.

Should you get travel insurance for international travel?

Travel insurance is worth the price for international travel because they're generally more expensive, so you have more to lose. Additionally, your regular health insurance won't cover you in other countries, so without travel insurance, you'll end up paying out of pocket for any emergency medical care you receive out of the US.

How far in advance should international travelers purchase travel insurance?

You should purchase travel insurance as soon as possible after making payment on your trip. This makes you eligible for add-ons like coverage for pre-existing conditions and CFAR. It also mitigates the chance of any losses in the days leading up to your trip.

How to buy new edition tickets: dates and prices compared for 2024 concert tour.

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

New Edition's Las Vegas residency is still going strong through 2024, though only a few tour dates remain. Luckily, the iconic music group has added additional tour dates and there are a few different ways to buy New Edition tickets.

New Edition began their residency at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas in February, with their stay ultimately being extended through November. After their original six shows, New Edition added two more legs for this year for a total of 10 more concert dates. Performing on their 2024 concert tour are group members Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe, who sing their classic hits like "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "If It Isn't Love."

If you're still looking for how to buy tickets to New Edition's concerts, we've got you covered. Here's our breakdown of the R&B group's tour schedule, purchasing details, and ticket prices. You can also browse tickets and show specifics on StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

New Edition 2024 tour schedule

All six members of New Edition are returning for the remainder of the group's Las Vegas residency, which kicks off on July 3. It features seven shows from July 3 to July 13 in Las Vegas, with the third leg picking back up for three additional concert dates in October and November.

The group is also appearing at the Cincinnati Music Festival in July.

All concert times are listed in local time zones.

How to buy tickets for New Edition's 2024 concert tour

You can buy original tickets for New Edition's 2024 Las Vegas residency concert dates and music festival appearance on Ticketmaster. However, since the residency extension shows went on sale in March 2024, the quantity of remaining original tickets is limited.

Tickets can also be purchased from verified resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats . You may have better luck with the variety of seating options and availability on resale sites compared to the original tickets still left.

It's also important to note that New Edition's shows at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas only permit concertgoers ages 18 and up — so be sure to bring your ID to get into the group's residency performances.

How much are New Edition's tickets?

Given the high demand for the group's remaining Las Vegas residency shows, tickets to see New Edition in 2024 are relatively expensive. Furthermore, ticket prices vary depending on each show's concert date and demand. Resale ticket prices are comparable to or cheaper than original ticket costs.

The cheapest original ticket prices on Ticketmaster begin at $175 for New Edition's Las Vegas shows on October 30 and November 1. The least expensive seats are generally in the left or right mezzanine. However, most other dates with remaining original tickets are a bit more costly, with the cheapest seats coming in at over $200.

On the other hand, original one-day Saturday tickets for New Edition's Cincinnati Music Festival performance start at only $65. This ticket also lets you see artists like Kem, Stokley, En Vogue, and Coco Jones. Check out the full line-up here .

The least expensive resale tickets available to New Edition's Las Vegas residency on StubHub start at $165 for the group's July 5 performance. Vivid Seats offers similar prices for resale tickets, as the cheapest available Las Vegas show passes begin at $165. However, both sites' base fares are slightly more expensive than the $65 original tickets for the Cincinnati Music Festival, as StubHub's begin at $72 while Vivid Seats' start at $73.

Who is opening for New Edition's tour?

New Edition does not have any opening acts for their tour. Once the showtime begins in Las Vegas, the R&B group will be the ones to come onstage.

Currently, New Edition has not announced any upcoming international tour dates for their 2024 concert series.

5 facts about presidential travel abroad

American presidents and other world leaders frequently travel internationally, most commonly for conferences and bilateral meetings. This face-to-face diplomacy can offer insights into political priorities, partnerships and tensions, as well as key international issues.

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted international travel in 2020 and 2021, but diplomatic travel picked up significantly in 2022. Here are five facts about presidential travel abroad:

Pew Research Center conducted this analysis to examine the international travel history of recent U.S. presidents and other heads of government through Jan. 20, 2023.

Dates and destinations of U.S. presidential travel prior to 2021 are from the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Historian, which has recorded international presidential travel since 1901. Travel data for 2021 and 2022 was compiled from White House press briefings. Information on visits to Ukraine by other world leaders were independently verified through official government websites.

Only trips where the head of government met face-to-face with another head of government are included. For example, Biden’s trip to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral is excluded as Biden did not hold any diplomatic meetings with the British prime minister or other world leaders. Visiting leaders were only counted if they were the head of government at the time of their visit. Depending on the country’s political system, “head of government” could mean president or prime minister, but not both. Heads of state, monarchs and interim leaders are excluded from the visiting leaders count.

U.S. President Joe Biden has traveled internationally less frequently than his last two predecessors did. Biden traveled to 17 places outside the United States in his first two years in office, visiting some more than once. He made six international trips in 2021, all of them to Europe. In 2022, he made 12 trips, including to Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East. And in early 2023, Biden traveled to Mexico for the North American Leaders’ Summit.

A table showing the destination and reason for Biden's international travel, two years into his presidency.

All told, Biden’s international visit count trails those of former Presidents Donald Trump, who made 23 international trips to 20 places during his first two years in office, and Barack Obama, who made 32 trips to 24 places in the first two years of his presidency.

Biden’s first presidential trip abroad was to the United Kingdom, while Trump’s was to Saudi Arabia and Obama’s was to Canada. A president’s first trip is often used to signal the importance of a strategic alliance. On his trip to the UK in June 2021, Biden reaffirmed the U.S.-UK partnership and committed to close cooperation throughout his presidency. Typically, U.S. presidents visit a close ally on their inaugural trip: Canada was the first international destination for both Obama and Bill Clinton, while Mexico was the first destination for George W. Bush.

U.S. presidents have visited the UK the most in the past decade – a total of eight times. American presidents have worked closely with their British counterparts over the past decade, cooperating on issues from defense and counterterrorism to climate policy . Travel to the UK has largely centered around conferences and summits, but in 2019, Trump made a ceremonial state visit to the UK .

A world map showing that U.S. presidents have visited the UK the most in the past decade - eight times in all.

In the past decade of presidential travel, Belgium (home to NATO headquarters ), France, Germany and Japan are the second-most visited destinations, at six times each.

So far, Biden has made the most trips to the UK and Belgium – two each. (Biden’s additional visit to the UK to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is not included in this count, since he did not hold any diplomatic appointments.) Just as these two European allies stand out in Biden’s presidential travel thus far, France stands out in Trump’s administration and Germany stands out in Obama’s – they visited those respective countries four times while in office.

Biden is among 38 heads of government who have visited Ukraine since the beginning of the war there. Biden traveled to Kyiv as part of a surprise trip in February, days before the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion .

While many heads of government visiting Ukraine have come from neighboring countries or countries in Europe (such as Poland’s prime minister, who has visited five times since the beginning of the war) that is not always the case. For example, Guatemala’s President Alejandro Giammattei and Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embaló traveled to Ukraine in July 2022 and October 2022, respectively.

Biden hosted 28 heads of government at the White House as of the end of 2022. Foreign leaders come to the U.S. for events including conferences, summits and bilateral meetings. Among those to visit the White House in 2021 and 2022 were then-Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson of Sweden, who met with Biden to submit her country’s application for NATO membership ; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who traveled to the White House on his first known wartime trip abroad ; and French President Emmanuel Macron, whose trip marked the first state visit of Biden’s presidency . In fact, the president of France has been the first leader to make a state visit to the U.S. for the past three presidential terms, with Macron visiting Trump in April 2018 and his predecessor, François Hollande, visiting Obama in February 2014. In April 2023, Biden hosted the second state visit of his administration , meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.
