Holiday Home Tour Save to Favorites

Organization: northville community foundation-maybury farm.

Each year the Northville Community Foundation holds its Holiday Home Tour. Five beautiful homes are decorated for the holidays. Be a host or hostess at a home in Northville, on November 17 or 18. Choose either 9:30 to 12:45 shift or the 12:45 to 4:00 shift. Volunteers will be given an address of a beautiful home for the day of the event. Volunteers will help check tickets, help guests with home tour guidelines, and help show off these beautiful homes decorated for the holiday season. This event helps raise funds for the operations of Maybury Farm and helps provide scholarships and grants to the community.

The Northville Community Foundation exists for the purpose of enhancing and enriching life in the community.

Description

The NCF administers nine investment funds that are designated for a variety of community needs. Interest earned each year is used to award grants to nonprofit organizations and programs that meet these community needs.

This year it looks like we may have some spotty rain on Saturday, but our continuously running bus service can still move you from house to house with as little inconvenience as possible, and the weather on Sunday looks like it’s going to be spectacular. Old North Knoxville features beautiful homes built in the Queen Anne, Craftsman/Bungalow, Neoclassical Revival, and American Four Square style. To help you kick off your holiday season, Old North Knoxville neighbors will open the doors of select homes in a variety of these styles, restored and decorated for the season for your viewing pleasure! If you’ve never been on the tour before, find out what to expect or learn more about the neighborhood

If you have been on the tour before, please note that we have NEW PARKING LOCATIONS THIS YEAR! Because the former St. Mary’s / Tennova hospital has closed, we have two new parking options:

Option #1: First Lutheran Church, 1207 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917 Option #2: Rose Funeral & Cremation, 1421 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917

Both parking locations are also stops on the tour this year, and buses will pick up and drop off at both lots. If one lot is full, please try the other just two blocks down the street.

The Northville Holiday Home Tour is Nov. 22 and 23.

Five homes featured on Northville Holiday Home Tour

Five private homes will be dressed in their holiday finest to inspire your seasonal decor during the Northville Holiday Home Tour that returns from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Nov. 22 and 23. Presented by the Northville Community Foundation, tickets, which are $25, can be purchased at several locations, including Gardenviews, Haven and the Northville Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will also be available from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the day of the tour at Ward Church, 40000 Six Mile (inside the main entrance).  Royal Oak Market: Art Fair Edition is Nov. 21-22

Now in its fourth year, Royal Oak Market: Art Fair Edition will take place indoors from noon- 10 p.m. on Nov. 21-22 at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. This juried show will feature 60 artists, live entertainment, food trucks, craft beer and free admission. The atmosphere makes this event a fun and festive place to purchase a holiday gift of fine art for someone on your list or enjoy a great date night out. The location is 316 E. 11 Mile. Village Potters Guild sale is Nov. 22-23

Get a head start on your holiday shopping at the Village Potters Guild of Plymouth’s 24th annual holiday show and sale from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Nov. 22- 23. Peruse an array of pieces from funky to functional, including decorative, sculptural, raku, Christmas plates, ornaments, and pit-fired art from porcelain and stoneware clay. Lights, reindeer, fireworks! 5 things to do in metro Detroit this weekend

Holiday- and winter-themed activities in metro Detroit this weekend include a festival in Detroit's Mexicantown neighborhood, strolling music in Northville and a home tour in Rochester Hills. Here's whats in store Dec. 9-11.

Southwest Holiday Fest

Free winter-themed activities at shops, restaurants, bars and cultural institutions in southwest Detroit are in the works for the seventh annual version of the event.

Revelers can enjoy a Detroit Symphony performance, Puerto Rican trio and Santa in the Ford Resource and Engagement Center-Mexicantown Mercado. Also part of the fun: Mexican hot chocolate and piñatas in the Mexicantown CDC Galeria, a performances at the Matrix Theatre, face painting, Mexican Christmas fruit punch, roasted chestnuts, cookie decorating and a clothing swap.

3-7 p.m. Saturday along the Bagley-Vernor corridor between 16th and 24th streets in Detroit. Click southwest holiday fest for a map of the event location.

A Holiday to Remember - Downtown Northville

Holiday inspired activities will include live strolling music and carolers, free horse-and-wagon rides, live reindeer and a holiday unicorn. Surprise cartoon characters will be on hand along with the Plymouth Fife & Drum Corps. Visitors can stop by the Slows to Go food truck on Friday or drop in on local restaurants and shops. The celebration is sponsored by Suburban Imports of Farmington Hills and hosted by the Northville DDA.

6-9 p.m. Friday, 2-9 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday in downtown Northville.

Holiday Walk and Winter Wonder Lights – Meadow Brook Hall

The walk is a self-guided indoor tour of three floors of the historic mansion, which has more than 50 decorated trees and several themed displays. You can check out the interactive Holiday Wish Book or peek in at Christmas Eve in the Nursery. The walk will continue 11 a.m.-4 p.m. through Dec. 23. Tickets are $20 (adults) and $7.50 (youth).

Winter Wonder Lights is a self-guided outdoor event that allows visitors to explore the grounds. Features include light displays, music, selfie stations, bonfires and concessions that offer glow-in-the-dark cotton candy and other treats. The event runs 5:30-10 p.m. through Dec. 30 at Meadow Brook Hall, 350 Estate Drive in Rochester Hills. Tickets are $22 (adults) and $12 (youth).

Holiday Home Tour in Rochester Hills

You can tour five Rochester Hills homes decorated for the holidays and then visit a gift boutique at Van Hoosen Museum Dairy Barn. Cider and doughnuts will be served at the barn, and visitors with home tour tickets get free admission to the annual model train display in the Van Hoosen complex. The event is being presented by the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.

The tour takes place noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets (cash only) are $25 and available at the Friends Store, Dillman & Upton and Lytle Pharmacy in Rochester, Wild Birds Unlimited in Rochester Hills and Werner’s Hallmark in Oakland Township.

Downtown Utica Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration and Fireworks

Highlights of this year’s celebration includes Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving by sleigh and a fireworks display. Lori Pinson of WJBK-TV (Channel 2) will be on hand along with Rachel and Grunwald from WYCD-FM (99.5) and the Utica High School Marching Band. The Utica Fire Department will again be conducting its Stuff an Ambulance toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots.

GETTING AROUND

Start the tour at the Old Louisville Visitors Center in Central Park to pick up your ticket/brochure. This is your a dmission to the homes. 

This is a self-paced, easy-walking tour with directional signage along several blocks to the participating homes. Docents will greet you at each house.

There is ample street parking around St. James Court and the perimeter of Central Park as well as side streets. There are also free parking lots marked for the event on Park Avenue, Fourth, and Third Streets. 

Volunteer for a 2.5 hour shift at the Holiday Home Tour and you will receive a free ticket

($35 value) to the event.  If you are able to work more than one shift, you will earn a ticket for each shift, as our thank you. Volunteers are positioned inside each home to welcome attendees and answer questions.

Shifts for each day are 11:45 am – 2:30 pm and 2:15 pm – 5 pm.
