For the St. Maarten Open Air Bus Sightseeing Cruise Shore Excursion, you will meet just a 3 minute walk from you St. Maarten cruise ship terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.
Excursion Restrictions
- This excursion is suitable for all ages.
- All underage guests must be accompanied by an adult/guardian participating in the same excursion.
- Infants are free but must sit on the lap of an adult.
- Guests are not allowed to stand up on the upper deck as the bus is moving.
- The bus can't accommodate motorized wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
- This excursion is only available for cruise guests.
Excursion FAQ
- You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email [email protected] within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
- Your ship misses/skips the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
- Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.

Enjoy the view of riding on an open-air double decker bus. Drive from Philipsburg, the Dutch capital of St. Maarten, past the Great Salt Pond and through the countryside on the way to Marigot, the French-side capital. Here, you’ll have a photo-stop with a truly European atmosphere, having the waterside, open-air markets, quaint shops, boutiques or sidewalk cafes as your backdrop.
Back on board the Double Decker, you will pass through St. Maarten’s latest infrastructure addition, the Causeway Swing Bridge, where you can spot lovely sailboats or magnificent Mega Yachts on the lagoon, depending on the time of year.
Arriving at Maho you may watch for airplanes overhead as they are landing at the Princess Juliana International airport. The journey will proceed across the south for views of Simpson Bay Lagoon where we'll stop at a local Rum Distillery for a free tasting of various flavors of rum. Your experience concludes with a tasting at the Amsterdam Cheese and Liquor store for a tasting of Old Amsterdam Gouda Cheese.
