Parkway Drive Merchandise

Founded in 2002, the Australians Parkway Drive managed to turn the metalcore world on its head with their first four albums. The principle here is simple: Take 5 smart surfer guys, send them off on tour and ensure their sound is constantly evolving from album to album.

The result is Parkway Drive, who have worked their way up to headlining numerous festivals through ruthless touring. While "Killing With A Smile" and "Horizons" were already high-quality albums, "Deep Blue" and "Atlas" really raised the bar.

Despite their long tour schedules, the band never seem to slow down or get bored, and it’s on stage that the real force of their songs comes through. There have even been performances with a band member in a wheelchair. With a permanent grin on their faces, Parkway Drive always manage to win their audience over.

Parkway Drive have definitely achieved everything it’s possible to achieve in the metalcore world. No wonder they’ve taken a different path with their sixth album "Ire".

IRE - Parkway Drive rediscover themselves

As soon as we heard the first singles "Vice Grip" and "Crushed", we were completely blown away. This album is quite simply incredibly good, with an even groovier sound from the Aussies of Parkway Drive. And as if that was not enough, PWD even released the bonus song "Devil's Calling", including a video, a short time later - which fits perfectly into the Parkway Drive discography.

Reverence – The perfect mix of all their styles

The guys from PWD are always good for a surprise. Silently and secretly, the Australians started work on their sixth album "Reverence". At the beginning of 2018 they released some snippets from the studio and only a short time later we were served "Whishing Wells". What a song! The mixture of the chanting vocal style and apocalyptic mood grabbed our attention immediately.

But for Parkway Drive, this was no reason to take a short break. A short time later, the next beast entitled "The Void" was released, which has a real Metallica feeling and also creates the perfect link with the album "Horizons".

In the song "I Hope You Rot", Winston McCall and co. discuss the child abuse scandal in the Australian church. The Australians mercilessly get down to business as usual. The album "Reverence" is probably the hardest and darkest album in the history of Parkway Drive, but also the most multi-faceted. We can’t wait for their next live performance!

Parkway Drive announce 2022 UK and European tour

Tickets go on sale this Friday (November 12)

Parkway Drive have announced a UK and European headline tour for 2022 – see all the details below.

The Australian band, whose latest album ‘Reverence’ arrived in 2018, will perform a string of shows throughout next September into October. Tickets go on sale here this Friday (November 12) at 10am GMT.

Following gigs in Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and other cities, Parkway Drive are set to touch down in the UK on September 30 for a performance at Alexandra Palace in London. Further shows will take place in Manchester (October 1), Nottingham (2) and Cardiff (3).

Sheffield metalcore group While She Sleeps will appear as the support act at the dates.

Fans who purchased tickets for the band’s previously announced postponed concerts are able to carry over their bookings to the new tour dates. Tickets for London, however, cannot be rolled over due to a change in venue.

In a four-star review , NME wrote described ‘Reverence’ as “a record for arenas, and Parkway Drive have finally – and perhaps unexpectedly – become the modern metal band who deserve to fill them”. A live album, ‘Viva The Underdogs’, came out last year along with an accompanying tour film of the same name.

Speaking to NME about the project , frontman Winston McCall explained: “I’ve always loved live albums that take you to that show. The live show and recorded album are two totally different beasts, two totally different interpretations of the music.

“Parkway was always designed as a live beast. We started as a small-town band for our friends to mosh to in the local youth centre. And we wanted to capture that.”

The band took to social media to share the exiting announcement posting, “We’ve got some unfinished business. Here we go, Europe 2022! Stoked to have @whileshesleeps joining us.”

The Australian metalcore outfit first formed in Byron Bay back in 2002. They have gone on to release six studio albums including 2005s ‘Killing with a Smile’, 2007s ‘Horizons’, 2010s ‘Deep Blue’, 2012s ‘Atlas’, 2015s ‘IRE’ and latest release 2018s ‘Reverence’.

‘Reverence’ entered the official German and Swiss albums charts at No.3, Austrian at No.5, Belgian at No.6 and UK at No.14 as well as debuted at No.1 in their native Australia.

In 2020 band released the documentary ‘Viva The Underdogs,’ featuring over a decade of behind the scenes personal footage alongside exclusive access to the band’s most explosive live tours and world’s biggest music festivals.

The soundtrack for the documentary was released in the same year and included 11 live tracks from the band’s 2019 headlining set at German heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air plus three studio tracks recorded in German; ‘Würgegriff (Vice Grip)’, ‘Die Leere (The Void)’, and ‘Schattenboxen (Shadow Boxing)’ ft. German rapper Casper.

Here’s Parkway Drive’s setlist from the first night of their UK tour

From Carrion to Crushed, Dedicated to Darker Still, Parkway Drive aren’t messing around with their UK setlist…

Last night Parkway Drive brought the fire and then some to London's Alexandra Palace.

Supported by the new face of brutal Lorna Shore and Sheffield metalcore favourites While She Sleeps , the Australian heavyweights finally made it back to our shores for a tour originally scheduled for 2020.

As you'd expect from one of the greatest live bands of their generation, Parkway packed their three-tiered stage with as much pyro as they could muster, with sparks and flames jetting out from all angles, as Winston roared in from the end of the ramp, wide-eyed grin plastered across his face.

Having just dropped new album Darker Still , London were treated to three new cuts from the record, including the acoustic, sombre title-track. But it was the tried-and-test monsters of Bottom Feeder, Vice Grip, Carrion and Prey that sent the hordes of pitters into a frenzy, having waited over two years to scream ' CRUSHED BY THE FIST OF GOD! ' at deafening volume.

Parkway Drive announce 2022 UK/European tour

Parkway Drive are to hit the road in 2022 with While She Sleeps

Parkway Drive have announced that they will be hitting the road in 2022 for a UK/European tour. 

Joining them as special guests will be Sheffield's metalcore heroes While She Sleeps .

The run of dates will commence from September at the Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig, and finish up on October 3 in Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena. Meanwhile, the pair of bands will be making stops in Prague, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, London and more.

In a tweet, Parkway Drive write: "We’ve got some unfinished business. Here we go, Europe 2022! Stoked to have joining us While She Sleeps joining us".

Sharing the tour announcement poster, While She Sleeps wrote, "The perfect tour doesn't exi..." in a humorous tweet.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, November 12, 11am CET. Please note that all previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the newly scheduled shows, apart from the London show. Due to the venue change the tickets for this show cannot be carried over.
