Rules and Restrictions for entering in the Rajgir Zoo Safari

To protect the animals and guests, the regulations for the zoo safari trip are considerably strict and more regulated. For example, during a safari, guests are not permitted to leave the vehicle or descend to the bus in order to quiet the animals where they are and to safeguard guests from wild creatures.

The zoo strictly takes action on the use of any kind of drugs, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, cigarettes, or other intoxicating substances.

Additionally, items like matches, sharp tools like knives or cutters, light, or any other combustible products are not permitted because they can damage the animal or otherwise provoke it.

When taking a safari ride in the zoo, neither adults nor kids should use noise-making equipment or make loud noises.

At the zoo, it is forbidden to throw trash, snack wrappers, or food items.

All visitor belongings, including a woman's purse, electronics, and photographs, are prohibited inside the zoo. They have to be put in the office. If not, an animal cruelty punishment may be imposed.

The Rajgir Zoo Safari or Rajgir Wildlife Safari is a Wildlife safari located in Rajgir , Bihar , India , was opened to public on 16 February 2022. [1] [2]

The zoo safari has been developed by the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt of Bihar at a cost of nearly ₹ 177 crore (US$22   million) . The zoo safari is spread over 191 hectares (470 acres) and has five zones namely Herbivore Safari, Bear Safari, Leopard Safari, Tiger Safari and Lion Safari which accommodate over 250 herbivores and carnivores. The main wild animal species includes Chital , Sambar , Black buck , Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar , Sloth Bear , Indian Leopard , Royal Bengal Tiger and Asiatic Lion [3] Considered to be one of its kind, the Zoo Safari is blessed with natural forest varying from large grasslands and Bamboo thickets to dense Sal Forest. Visitors can also enjoy seeing variety of bird and butterfly species here. One can see different water birds like Kingfishers , cormorants in the natural ponds present in the safari. Apart from watching wild animals in forest, efforts has been taken to sensitize the visitors about wildlife and their conservation. Ome of its main attraction is a selfie point with life-size wild animal statues. It has a unique interpretation centre with informative videos of wild animals. It also has a painting series showing Wildlife in their habitat, challenges faced by Wildlife for survival and role of forest department in Forest and wildlife Conservation. It also has a digital butterfly zone, an orientation centre, a 180 degree 3D theatre and shapath Stambha. The unique feature of Zoo Safari is that the wild animals at Rajgir Zoo Safari are not in cages but free over a large natural forest area. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the safari and will dedicate it to the people. The much-awaited cabin car ropeway at Ratnagiri hills at Rajgir too will be launched on the occasion.

The Nature Safari which has been developed by the department of forests, environment and climate change over 500-hectares of land at a cost of with ₹ 19 crore will offer visitors the unique experiences of glass sky walk, suspension bridge, adventure park and butterfly zone.

The site also has an archery range, rock climbing walls and wrestling zone among other attractions.

An eight-seater cabin car ropeway which has been developed recently by the state tourism will offer tourists a more convenient and much safer journey to the Vishwa Shanti Stupa atop the Ratnagiri hills at Rajgir.

Gopal Singh, a senior forest official, said both the Nature Safari and the new ropeway will be launched before the festival of Holi.

“The Safari is expected to evoke wide interest because of the unique experiences that it is going to offer. The glass sky walk is the first such facility in the country. Even the suspension bridge is expected to woo those who love adventure,” he said.

Glass Bridge Rajgir Ticket

To visit the Rajgir Glass Bridge, you must purchase a ticket. There are two types of tickets available:

  • Online Ticket:  You can book online tickets in advance on the official website of Rajgir Zoo Safari. https://rajgirzoosafari.bihar.gov.in/ticketing/
  • Offline Ticket:  You can also purchase tickets at the counter at the entrance of the Rajgir Glass Bridge.

The ticket prices are as follows:

  • Adults:  Rs.150
  • Children (5-12 years):  Rs.75
  • Senior Citizens (60 years and above):  Rs.50

Things to do near the Rajgir Glass Bridge
