VISIT SECLUDED MYSTERY VALLEY

We will take you back to the past and unfold the mysteries as physical evidence reveals the authentic rock arts where their sacred grounds still remain. As we drive alongside the painted walls and age-old dwellings, stories begin to slowly unfold. Silently we begin to discover and imagine the lives of these ancient forefathers.

Following the prehistoric trails we also discover the eye-catching natural bridges, arching across the desert floor, delicately connecting the massive sandstone rocks. Mystery Valley is like the Undiscovered Country, where not many have gone and which few have witnessed.

Monument Valley tour

Simpson tour in back of a pickup truck with 2 rows of seats. Bumpy road but still a great tour. Navajo guide and driver who gave us a lot of good information. And if your are old Western movies fan - you HAVE to see this.

Thank you for the privilege to serve you during your visit to beautiful Monument Valley... accompanied by one of our Navajo guides. The valley is truly an amazing sight, and our guide was honored to share the Navajo culture with you during your journey through the valley. We are glad you were able to experience a bit of the "Old West American movie culture" We look forward to an opportunity to serve you again, during a return visit. Thanks again... and safe travels!

we learned a lot from Jamie our tour guide..we had seen the grand canyon a few days before we saw monumnent valley..Im glad we saved the best for last..seeing the buttes and mesas on tv were great, but to see them up close..just awesome

Thank you for the honor of serving you during your visit to our enchanting lands of the Navajo people... beautiful Monument Valley! We do hear very often, that Monument Valley is truly the highlight of many guests who visit both the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley! On behalf of our Navajo guide Jamie and Monument Valley Simpson's Trailhandler Tours, we thank you sincerely for taking the time to visit us and experience the beauties of our lands and learn more about our special Navajo culture!

We are a group of 4 friends, we booked the overnight tour in the hoogan with the Simpson's Trailhandler Tour society on August 18th 2019. First of all, we tried to call the society telephone number written on the website ( and in our receipt) all day since 9 am until 7 pm, and wrote several emails, but with no answer at all. We arrived late at 7 pm and we asked to some natives to help us find the Simpson company and even they could not reach them. We arrived for the dinner at least thank to a Simpson's driver who just finished working and brought us to the camp to eat. After dinner we sat by the fire and there was none of what we expected from the website. There was no flute, no history, no tradition and no culture of Navajo. We only assisted to some group games for tourist entertainment. We arrived to the sleeping place. We were in total around 50-60 people. There were only 2 chemical toilets, very dirty, and one of the 2 was out of service and had no door, it was broken on the ground. We were expecting basic supplies for our night as written on the website: wash pans, soap, towel, mattresses, water for the night. NONE of that was available. We anly had a tiny fitness mat that made our night very uncomfortable. Everybody from all the groups slept outside, because there was not enough space in the hoogans. And also sleeping outside with a pack of 3 dogs walking around, barking and growling was scary for all of us. On the other hand, thanks to the driver the tour in the jeep to see and discover the sunrise, all the beautiful landscapes, and most of all the natives, were great. We are very sorry for all this, we are sorry not only because we spent an uncomfortable unplanned night, but because this damages your cultural heritage and all the beauty people cannot see. Honestly 285 $ each person is really too much for the service provided!!!

Perhaps I just expected too much, but I was severely disappointed by this trip in terms of the accuracy of the tour description and the value for money. We decided on the overnight trip because it was hard to get accommodation near Monument Valley. I'd like to mention the positives. Our guide was charming and very funny. it was fun driving around the restricted area in the evening, seeing the figures in the rocks, and we saw a wonderful sunrise. We should have left it at that. The tour description said "After the Sunset Tour a traditional Navajo dinner will await you deep in the valley...followed by a special entertainment program during which you can enjoy some tradition dancing, chanting, drumming and storytelling sitting around a campfire." I expected our small tour group, any only our group to congregate and eat around the campfire to enjoy an intimate evening and converse with traditional Navajo people. Actually there were several (perhaps 5 or 6) groups at dinner and we all stood in line to get served our taco with beans, grated cheese, rice and a can of coke. The "fire" was a miniscule firedish that the "Navajo" guide (dressed in baseball cap , jeans and trainers) kept squirting with lighter fluid, only for it to briefly explode and then go out again. Actually this was probably the best entertainment of the evening. One of the guides then put on the Navajo dress (with his Nike trainers sticking out the bottom) and started hopping round showing the traditional Navajo dancing. Then there was a kind of communal dancing where we were invited to dance, I don't know Navajo dancing, which is why i wanted to try it, but it didn't seem any different to a barn dance. There was no chanting, no drumming and no storytelling (which i had been looking forward to) Anyhow, the dancing was (thankfully) all over within 20 minutes. Then we got driven to our camp, (where there was no fire) and it was bedtime. i woke up in the middle of the night with 2 dogs staring over me, to be fair they didn't lick my face or try to get into my stuff, but it wasn't the most relaxing situation. And the "continental breakfast".... i have no words. Continental breakfast always, i mean always, includes coffee. But because there were only 6 people in our group, there was none. (they only make coffee for 8 people or more). For $250 i really think a freaking cup of coffee is in order after a sleepless night!... The Froot Loops had to suffice. $150 would have been ok.

Our tour guide Harrison was great! He took us through Monument Valley, making a couple of stops to tell us the history of certain structures. He was funny and personable. We loved the views and had plenty of time to take photos at each stop. We also liked that it was a fairly small group (about 15 people for the jeep tour).

Dear Guest, On behalf of our Navajo guide Harrison, and all of us at Monument Valley Simpson's Trailhandler Tours... we express our thanks and appreciation for your visit to our enchanting lands of the Navajo people! It was an honor and privilege to serve you, and to provide you with an "amazing up close adventure" of our beautiful valley! Harrison will be thrilled to know that he was "great" as your Navajo tour guide, and gave you the time to take photos and learn of the history of our special valley! Thanks again... and we look forward to serving you again sometime in the near future!

The tour was wonderful and we can highly recommend it: Our tourguide Stan was great - he answered all our questions and took us to beautyful places. He told us many colourful stories about the rocks, the native americans, their history and the beautyful landscape. It was actually the best tour on our trip. Thank you Stan for that great service!
