Where to meet up?
North campus, busch student center (bsc).
Its full name is the Busch Student Center, but Billikens all refer to this building as the BSC. It’s home to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore, many student organizations and on-campus dining favorites Mein Bowl and Saint Louis Bread Co. (also known as Panera), among others.
Pius XII Memorial Library
Named after Pope Pius XII, SLU’s largest library has more than 1.3 million volumes and 19 study rooms. The Academic Tech Commons is housed here and includes 3D printers and scanners, hologram projectors and more. Did we mention you can also grab an Einstein Bros. Bagels for a study snack?
Center for Global Citizenship (CGC)
A major hub for cultural events on campus, the bright and airy CGC is also a favorite study spot. Grab a seat at the tables outside under the flags honoring all the nations represented at SLU to meet up with friends or people watch.
Chaifetz Arena
Home to the Saint Louis University Billikens, Chaifetz Arena is a favorite on game nights and major events alike. Our basketball and volleyball teams compete here, and you can also catch shows from big-name artists like Carrie Underwood.
Clock Tower
Lipic Clock Tower Plaza, located in the heart of campus, is another favorite spot for studying and meeting up with friends.
Hammocks? Frisbee? Slacklining? Juggling? You’ll see it all and more here in the middle of campus. Most SLU students say this is their favorite place to study and hang out with friends on a beautiful day.
Simon Recreation Center/SLUruba
Every student is a member of Simon Rec, so head over to work up a sweat, take a class or join a club sport. Swim laps year-round inside, and as soon as the weather is warm enough, you’ll want to lounge around at SLUruba, the two outdoor pools and sand volleyball area.
Vandeventer Field
The field on the west end of campus is the place to be for a pick-up game, intramural and club sports or a chat with friends. Synthetic turf means the field is ready for use year-round.
South Campus
Allied health building.
One of the most frequented spots on campus for nursing, public health and health sciences students, this building is also home to the most innovative dining spot on campus, Fresh Gatherings Cafe. Find local farm-fresh food, including some vegan options, prepared by students in Doisy College culinary classes.
Doisy Learning Resources Center (LRC)
This is where you’ll find SLU’s Medical Center Library, as well as librarians devoted to helping you connect with public health, nursing and health science materials.
SLU Medical Center Track
Run or walk this eight-lane NCAA-regulation track that offers a fantastic view of St. Louis’ Gateway Arch.
Campus connectivity
From the quad to Simon Recreation Center to pretty much anyplace else on campus, you can connect your wireless devices to "SLU-users," the secure wireless network of choice for students, faculty and staff. (There is also an unencrypted wireless network for guests.)
The Resident Network is a wired network available to students who have registered their computer.
Can’t live without your morning stop at Starbucks? We’ve got you covered.
SLU offers 20 spots on campus to grab a bite — including favorites like Starbucks and Panera — and one state-of-the-art residential dining hall, meaning the fuel you need is never more than a few steps away. Plus, SLU is in the middle of St. Louis’ thriving dining scene, so you’ll be able to find all your favorite foods and new amazing eats nearby.
Campus Safety
At Saint Louis University, the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors is a top priority. SLU’s Department of Public Safety has a team of 80 dedicated officers with training in both active shooter response and fair and impartial policing.

360 virtual tour: explore stunning Saint Louis University
by Tracy Ratledge · Published April 23, 2018 · Updated August 23, 2019
When you decide to study abroad, sometimes visiting the campus before you start isn’t easy.
At the same time, you want to see your future dream university before you move there. Well, we have great news! Saint Louis University (SLU) has just unveiled a virtual reality tour.
The virtual tour shows you 360-degree views of the best spots on campus, led through at your own pace by the same students you’ll meet at SLU.
Instead of just following the tour guide, you can choose your own adventure with virtual pin points.
Wander through academic buildings to see what your classes would look like for yourself, and then visit your soon-to-be residence halls.
You can even check out the dining and athletic facilities for a taste of daily life as a Billiken.
Explore your classrooms and study spaces
Many of the academic programs at SLU rank among the best in the country.
The tour will take you inside SLU’s academic buildings, from the business school and an engineering lab to a medical classroom and a mock courtroom.
You’ll also be able to visit Pius Memorial XII Library – home to SLU’s brand new Academic Tech Commons.
Students from nearly 80 countries study at SLU, and this tour will take you inside the Center for Global Citizenship and INTO SLU Center – two spaces on campus dedicated to promoting cross-cultural awareness and collaboration.
Top tip: Send specific stops to your friends and family.
If you’re interested in a business program, why not send them to the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business stop or share it on social media?
Take a look around the campus
Take a peek inside a residence hall or look around the Grand Dining Hall where you’ll eat most of your meals. Make your way to SLU’s places of worship, like St. Francis Xavier College Church. Check out Chaifetz Arena, home of some of SLU’s Division I sports teams, or the Simon Recreation Center where students work out.
Explore where you’ll live
Although the University offers a vibrant urban setting, it’s just steps away from some of St. Louis’ top cultural attractions.
The virtual tour will even give you a glimpse at life off campus in the city.
Take in 360-degree views of Forest Park – larger than New York City’s Central Park – as well as Busch Stadium, home to the 11-time World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
How to access the tour
Go online or download the app on your phone or device. Booking your own private virtual tour is as easy as plugging in your headphones and opening the YouVisit app!
The app is free and, once downloaded, can run without Wi-Fi. The tour is available in English, Arabic and Mandarin. Just choose the language you want in the bottom right corner of the tour.
