Pass By: Darling Harbour, Sydney, New South Wales 2000 Australia

This waterside pocket of Sydney has got it all; amazing entertainment, fascinating museums, incredible wildlife and delicious dining options right on the water plus a brand-new food precinct. Darling Harbour is a fantastic family-friendly destination right in the heart of Sydney that has something for everyone.

Pass By: Circular Quay, Sydney, New South Wales 2000 Australia

This is the gateway to all the wonderful things that Sydney Harbour has to offer. Circular Quay in Sydney Cove is bordered by the Sydney Opera House and Royal Botanic Garden on one side and the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the other. It’s also the main ferry terminal in Sydney, making it easy to explore one of the world’s great natural harbours.

Pass By: Taronga Zoo, Bradleys Head Road, Mosman, New South Wales 2088 Australia

One of Sydney’s most famous attractions, the award-winning Taronga Zoo is home to over 4,000 animals, including Australian native wildlife, as well as rare and endangered exotic animals. Australia’s oldest fishing village is home to waterfront restaurants, great walking trails and a harbourside park perfect for family picnics.

Steeped in history, Watsons Bay is rich in indigenous and colonial heritage. Join Kadoo Tours for insights into Aboriginal culture and the bay area. A two hour guided tour through the clifftops of the Gap Bluff walking track will have you marvelling at the vast ocean as you walk by the spot where the full-rigged passenger ship the Dunbar shipwrecked in 1857.

The ferry did not arrive. As wifi was not provided on the jetty, i had to switch on my data roaming to check email to find out the ferry had been cancelled. I had to use 2 buses and a train to get back to the city. The lady at the kiosk advised me that a member of staff had been sick and therefore they had to cancel the ferry. As i had only reveived half of the service purchased, i asked for a 50% refund. I was advised that the best she could do was to give me a ticket to revist the following day. I am significantly out of pocket not only for the 2 buses and train i had to use to get back but also for the extortionate roaming charge so that i could find out where the ferry was! To add to the insult, i am disabled and returning back on public transport caused me physical difficulties. Very poor business organisation , no contingency planning for staff shortages. Crashed...yes, our ferry crashed into the cement seawall - no slowing down, no reversing, no trying to avoid the crash. My kids were asleep downstairs across several seats because it was a long day of sightseeing. My husband & I were standing upstairs talking to other passengers. I heard my husband say, "I don't think he's going to stop." I looked at what he was looking at, in shock watched the boat head towards land, I heard the captain yell something on the loud speaker, we hit, and then I went flying. After the crash, the captain and his first mate were discussing whether they should call it in or not. I'm not sure what that means. After assessing the boat and whether they were taking on water, they asked if anyone was hurt. We told them yes, I was bleeding. When we left the boat, we were told someone would be contacting us. No one has. I emailed Fantasea the next morning and a few times after. No one has contacted us. No one has even refunded the tickets thus far. They have cameras everywhere on the boat. A vast collection of animals. One downside is that the "hopper" version of the cruise is pretty useless in combination with the zoo, as it is certainly a 5 hour visit at the zoo. So no time to island hop. Better to purchase a direct ferry ride to and from the zoo to Circular Key. Read more Written 18 March 2024

  • Kyra P 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Awful! We booked to see the fireworks over the opera house on Australia Day and it was absolute shambles. The wharf was ridiculously busy with little to no organisation. We arrived early to ensure we knew where we were going. I showed a fantasea worker my ticket and was told to wait in another line due to our boat being the second one to leave from the harbour (first being 6:45pm, ours being 7pm). Once it was our lines turn to board I was then told I should have been on the first boat even though my ticket specifically stated 7pm (not 6:45pm). The worker got very argumentative and explained it was our fault however the company was the one to change our timings without letting us know. The email that was supposedly sent to me was then made apparent they spelt the email address completely wrong and therefore again the company was at fault. With this in mind the worker that evening decided to persist being rude, repetitive in his argumentative comments, antagonising me and my partner, causing lots of unnecessary upset and generally trying to escalate the situation. So much so, that a family behind us in the line stood up for us and told the man he was in the wrong. We had no apology and were still made to feel as though it was our fault. We eventually got on the boat to then find out we had paid double what a lot of other passengers had paid. Read more Written 26 January 2024

Did the Manly NYE cruise tonight and it was an absolutely appalling experience, due to the complete lack of organisation. . Hundreds of people crammed into a very small wharf area for almost an hour - with two boats worth of passengers all mingled together, no coordination or communication from crews. Only one person was checking these hundreds of people in and allocating wrist bands, again with no comms on the boat boarding procedure. As people were starting to get really angry, they opened a gate about 2 metres across and hundreds of people shuffled down onto a narrow gangway - with no communication on which boat would be boarding first or when. The passengers should be held in two separate areas or divided in some way to make the boarding process quicker and less chaotic. Once on board, there were no apologies for the appalling hour people had just spent trying to get on the boat. The boat also had very small outside viewing areas, so viewing was limited. One of the small areas at the rear of the boat was next to the toilets - only three of them for several hundred people - which were not flushing. So not only did you have a cr4ppy view, you had a matching odour to accompany it There are hundreds of other Sydney NYE cruises. Choose anyone of them, they have to be better than this. The boats are clean & comfortable, the crew is friendly, the commentary were informative, the harbour views are always amazing, we could spot dolphins during our ride from Watson bay to Manly bay...got all as advertised by Fantasea. I needed to reschedule my second day i.e. move my free ride day to the third day. They accommodated my request without hassle. A big thank you. I have seen a few negative comments by other customers. I needed to reschedule my second day i.e. move my free ride day to the third day. They accommodated my request without hassle. A big thank you. I have seen a few negative comments by other customers. I hope Fantasea would take steps to address for any genuine complaints. For me, I would definitely take Fantasea again when I visit Sydney the next time. Read more Written December 15, 2023

  • 251stephm 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Disabled customer abandoned in Manly I was waiting at Manly for the return ferry to Circular Quay, along with several other customers. I'm not sure what they're trying to hide. Read more Written 27 March 2024

  • nilalw 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles The Taronga Zoo is a MUST see. The zoo was terrific and certainly unique in location and set up. BEAUTIFUL views of the Sydney Harbour.

  • jimsearle27 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles NYE cruise from Manly was absolutley appalling. Fantasea Cruising Sydney NYE cruise from Manly was absolute crap. Absolute crap. The fireworks are amazing - this terrible experience is not the way to see them. Read more Written 15 January 2024

After having paid for the cruise online, we still had to stand in a line for 30 mins to get our wristbands along with people who were in line for tickets, so no real benefit of buying online. Sydney Harbour Hopper - Sightseeing Cruise

What's included, customer reviews.

Nice to see the sunset on cruise for the last ferry on the timetable for sightseeing cruise.

The cruise was late, but was a lovely day and weekend of school holiday. Ones got on it was smooth with good prerecorded commentary. It provided plenty of photo and video recording opportunities on top deck. A great value way to travel to popular destinations. Highly recommended.

it was amazing!!!

Cruise was fine with various stops described by fastasea which provided cool photo angles of the Opera Hoise (refer to their website for details). However, the commentary (supposedly part of the cruise) was nonexistent throughout the whole cruise journey (Circular Quay ambarkation). Would have gone for other cruise companies if I knew their commentary was not up as described. Hence, the ride was pretty boring about 30mins in. Avoid if you prefer a more enriching ride with commentary to learn more about Sydney and its harbour. Would recommend Bonza's bicycle guided tour "Sydney Classic Tour" if you like cycling, for a great experience to tour the city icons with an awesome tour guide!
