Businesses want you to be familiar with what you’re selling. After all, the better you know a place, the more capable you’ll be of helping clients choose the right vacation.

To that end, Disney provides Authorized Disney Vacation Planners with complimentary theme park tickets . As a standard Disney travel agent, you’ll receive a one-day Park Hopper ticket to either Walt Disney World or Disneyland each year.

Or, if you want to visit for a longer period of time, you can opt for discounted two- to 10-day Park Hopper tickets at Walt Disney World.

The highest-performing travel agents are recognized by Disney’s EarMarked. This invite-only program grants extra support and perks, such as additional complimentary theme park tickets.

Discounted Universal Studios tickets

Cheaper tickets aren’t limited to Disney. As a Disney travel agent, you’ll also receive up to four half-price tickets to Universal Studios per year.

Discounted Disney cruises and increased commissions

Disney cruise travel agents can also score reduced or free tickets to Disney cruises. Depending on the travel agency you work with, agencies with a high number of sales can earn increased commissions on sales associated with cruises.

Disney travel agents work on commission, which means that they make money only when their clients book and complete vacations.

Disney pays up to a 10% commission to travel agents, depending on the package booked for the customer. Disney cruises yield a higher commission. If you’re working independently, you’ll receive the full commission amount — so if your client booked a $5,000 vacation pretax, you’d receive $500 in commission.

You can also opt to join an existing travel agency. These companies offer more support and can help you if you’re just getting started. Depending on the agency, it can also provide marketing support and send leads your way.

If you choose to join a travel agency , you’ll split your commission. The rate for this will vary based on where you’re working, but you can expect to receive up to 75% of the total commission Disney pays out.

This means that if you had a client taking a vacation that cost $5,000 pretax, Disney would pay the travel agency $500. At a 75% split, you would be paid $375. It’s less than you’d make if you were operating on your own, but it may be worth it for the added support and access to interested clients.

There’s no denying that there are benefits to becoming a Disney travel agent. This includes free theme park tickets, discounted rates at official Disney hotels and even savings on cruises. Aside from these perks, you can also turn your passion into a job by selling Disney vacation packages to customers.

Whatever your reason for wanting to become a Disney travel agent, you’ll need to first become a certified travel agent, then complete Disney’s specialized training program.

Get ready, Disney Travel professionals! May is Travel Advisor Appreciation Month, and Disney wants to celebrate with you.

This year, you are going to be celebrated and appreciated in fun new ways. It is the perfect time to be recognized for your hard work.

Are you lucky enough to be visiting the Walt Disney World resort this May? Then, be sure to stop by the new Travel Advisor Appreciation Station.

This special lounge is located at Upcountry Landing near the “Feathered Friends Flight” show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This exclusive offering is for all current travel advisors in the US and Canada with an agency IATA or CLIA identification.

What can you expect in the Appreciation Station? Sit down and relax with light refreshments, take the perfect selfie, and catch up with the Travel Agency Sales Team! This is the perfect time to unwind in a cool spot and take in the beautiful views of the Tree of Life.

The Travel Advisor Appreciation Station will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM through May 30. Please note hours may vary.

How many hours a day do Disney travel agents work?

Can I only join an EarMarked Authorized Disney Vacation Planner Travel Agency?

Authorized Disney Vacation Planners are travel agencies that specialize in Disney vacations. They’re also known as “EarMarked” travel agencies. 

These certifications show that the travel agency has a long-standing reputation with selling tickets to Walt Disney World, as well as Disney vacation packages. However, you do not need to be EarMarked or an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner in order to sell a Disney vacation package or Walt Disney World tickets. 

Travel agents with Fora can book Disney vacation packages while also making income on other types of trip planning, too. That way, you’re getting the best of both worlds (and by that, we mean you can book travel anywhere).

Once I become a Disney travel agent, can I only work with Walt Disney World and other Disney experiences?

Kris has loved Disney ever since his first trip with his grandparents when he was a kid. He remembers being filled with excitement seeing Tigger for the first time as though he was an A-list celebrity (he even got an autograph!). In the late 90s, during and after college, Kris lived in Winter Park, Florida, and would visit Disney parks, Downtown Disney, and The Boardwalk areas as an annual pass holder. Now he travels to Disney as often as he can with Jess and their two adorable daughters, Ava and Madison. He loves reliving the childhood excitement and magic of Disney through them.

Kris believes Disney is the most magical place on earth, and he goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has the best experience possible. Krista – Travel Advisor

Krista enjoys planning and researching Disney vacations almost as much as she enjoys the vacation itself! Her first trip to Disney, in 1978, began a lifelong passion for travel, but it wasn’t until her daughter was born that she truly caught the Disney bug.  Now, with over 20+ trips to Walt Disney World and on Disney Cruise Line, she cannot wait for her next adventure.

Graduating from Rowan University with a BA in Communications, Krista has formulated career experience in a variety of skills including events planning, marketing, and communications. She has been able to apply these skills towards budgeting, planning, and executing the best Disney vacations. Krista has planned group trips, coordinated extended family vacations, and been recruited by first-time Disney travelers to help them through the Disney World planning process.

Krista   has obtained this important credential in our industry by taking various hours of education in Autism. She will be taking continuing education in Autism every year and assisting families traveling with Autism.

Krista lives in Marlton, NJ with her husband Dennis and daughter, Kayla. Besides planning Disney vacations, she enjoys crafting and can be found making her friends and family Disney Tee shirts and Mickey ears!

Krystin – Travel Advisor

Krystin’s love for Disney and travel started at a young age. The memories made as a child on family Disney trips continued into adulthood, taking frequent trips with her husband and two children. She now enjoys creating those magical memories for others. She has traveled and planned for herself including her large extended family.

Every bit of the planning process is exciting to her. Krystin loves working with all budgets and clients, with attention to every detail. Each vacation is treated with the same level of personal attention she’d give her own.

Krystin is a hair stylist by trade. She was born and raised in Fairfield County, Connecticut where she currently resides with her husband and two sons.

Lauren loves traveling! She took her first trip to Walt Disney World when she was in first grade, and has been fortunate to return many times since! Over the last several years, Lauren has planned several Disney trips for her family! From accommodations, to admission, dining, attractions, and even packing, Lauren loves finding the options that meet the needs of everyone on the trip! Lauren enjoys listening to and developing a relationship with her clients so they can find the perfect match. Lauren was born, raised, and currently lives in the boyhood state of Walt Disney. She lives in St. Louis, Missouri (a few hours from the Walt Disney Hometown Museum) with her husband and two boys. Lauren holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree from Webster University.

Lindsay – Travel Advisor

Lindsay first traveled to WDW in 1987 before she started Kindergarten. She returned a few times as a child, and one of her fondest memories is the behind the scenes tour where she was chosen to ride the bee from Honey! I Shrunk the Kids in front of the green screen to simulate the filming of that scene!

Lindsay is a high school Spanish teacher at her alma mater in Central Pennsylvania. She has organized student trips to Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Peru, and she has chaperoned other student trips to Europe and Mexico. She also has the pleasure of directing plays and musicals – including Disney’s Beauty & the Beast and The Little Mermaid. She even performs in community theatre, too, and has played the role of Mrs. Corry in Disney’s Mary Poppins!

She and her husband have traveled to WDW to celebrate their college graduation and their anniversary, and for weekend getaways. They have since returned with their son to celebrate his first birthday! Lindsay has also chaperoned senior class trips to WDW. Whether it’s your first trip or your fifteenth, the magic never gets old – there are always new adventures to be had!

Her favorite Disney character is Mary Poppins, who is “practically perfect in every way.” And Lindsay fully agrees when Mary says “anything can happen if you let it!”

Meridith – Travel Advisor

Meridith’s love of Disney started at a young age! Her first trip was when she was three.  She spent the trip bouncing around Space Mountain or napping in the stroller.  Since college, she has enjoyed going to Walt Disney World and Disneyland numerous times with family and friends. She has planned trips for parties of all sizes with people of all ages.  She understands how to plan a trip on a budget and has tips and tricks to make the trip as seamless as possible! Meridith has experienced Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival, Early Morning Magic, and Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace in Magic Kingdom just to name a few. Meridith has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M.  She is married to her husband Joe and they have 4 kids. They have lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, Tennessee, and currently reside in Massachusetts.

Michelle – Travel Advisor

Michelle has been going to Walt Disney World since she was in her mother’s womb. She has now been over 40 times and considers herself the ultimate Disney fanatic! Her most cherished memories are from staying at the Polynesian Resort every year growing up, and she truly gets giddy anytime someone wants to “talk Disney.” Did you know that Disney brought the actual Sultan of Morocco to Walt Disney World while building their restaurant in Epcot, Restaurant Marrakesh, to be sure it was as authentic as possible? Michelle lives for this kind of trivia! In fact, she used to joke that she doesn’t need to leave the U.S. to tour the world because she could easily do that in Epcot! Even so, she has been to Spain, London, Scotland, Argentina, Mexico, and the Caribbean and plans to see the rest of the world over time with her husband and two children.

Michelle’s passion for Disney has never waned. She got engaged at Epcot’s Italy Pavilion, honeymooned at The Contemporary, and she continues to embrace the magic of Disney every day with her two young children through play. They have inherited Michelle’s collection of over 100 Disney figurines, and they love playing with them as much as she did.

The only thing Michelle loves more than Walt Disney World is sharing that love with others. As a Disney expert and experienced travel agent, Michelle is uniquely qualified to craft trips that are personally tailored to meet each client’s needs. She holds a degree in Media Studies and Communication from Sacred Heart University and understands that there are many ways to experience Disney. Naomi – Travel Advisor

Naomi visited Disneyland for the first time at age 7 as her family was moving from Hawaii to the Midwest. She became a forever fan after that truly magical experience. Although she and her family now live in New Jersey, they remain Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, D23 Gold Members, and visit several weeks per year. She loves sharing the excitement Disney brings with her entire family and believes no vacation can top the magic of Disney.

Naomi has experienced so many Disney special events over the years, including Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival, Flower & Garden, New Year’s Eve, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. However, her favorite events are the ones that combine her two passions, Disney and costuming! He told her he loved for the first time in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle 4 months later & proposed to her in front of the Rivers of America 3 months after that.

I would say crowds were moderate during our days, certain areas at certain times were packed. Our hotel was pretty full but there was a convention of some sort going on. Saturday night we couldn't get to sleep because tons of people were in the pool till security finally got them out (my daughter and several other guests called the front desk), these were the convention people. The pool (which is pretty big for a quiet pool) was wall to wall people at one point. They were ridiculously loud. It always amazes me how people in hotels don't remember there are other people in the hotel. I do think the hotels should have security walking/driving around at all times. It shouldn't be up to the guests to have to complain. Other than that the hotel was fine, we would stay here again but only in the same area, you have to be close to a bus stop.

Ugh sorry about the pool noise! I love Coronado, but have only ever stayed in the Tower, which we love.

Son-in-law did the race early Friday monring in Epcot. He enjoyed that and would do it again. Came in 4th in his group. When we went to Epcot for regular opening time didn't notice any issues on the roads due to the race. Had breakfast in Akershus Royal Banquet hall . Granddaughter loved it, food good, character interaction good.

Granddaughter enjoyed mostly outdoor rides, didn't like inside stuff so much - too dark I think and most things are so loud. She almost didn't watch Beauty and the Beast (she does not like him lol), she left but then decide to come back and then she enjoyed it (she covered her eyes when he was up there). Did the Tales with Belle in MK, sorry didn't care for that, wouldn't do that again.

Watched Fantasmic, sorry don't get that either, we gave it a go because it was updated but seemed the same to me. No need to see it again for me. Epcot's new fireworks, they were okay, better than Harmonius but still prefer good old Illuminations. Did not get to see MK fireworks, just couldn't stay there any longer. Next time.

Sorry just writing things as I think of them, not a very good report writer (hated report writing in school) lol. Granddaughter is 3 and 3 is a great age to go. She loved getting autographs, when she met Anna and Elsa she screamed "Anna and Elsa" you're here. It really is the cutest thing.

Weather - little cool when leaving the hotel early but everyday got to 90. Now there was no humidity but even without it, wow is it hot. There's not much shade and walking from one thing to another can be torture lol No rain at all which was good. I normally wear my vionic sandals every day but being it's spring I guess my feet weren't used to them so I switched to an old pair of Nikes (I have orthotics in them) and I must say sneakers may be the way forward. Feet felt pretty good all day into the night. I would say bring foot wear choices and switch around.

Just take it from Rob Clabbers, Travel + Leisure A-List travel advisor and Q Cruise + Travel founder, who tells T+L that “Greece and the Greek isles are just the perfect destinations to explore by ship” since “a cruise allows you to see more islands and gives you a unique vantage point.” Several of the best Greece cruises also include visits to neighboring countries like Turkey and Italy, for example, which allow travelers to experience several cultures and countries in one action-packed trip. According to Clabbers, this small luxury cruise line is perfect for those who prefer “a smaller, more casual yacht-style experience.” Per the pro, the onboard vibes are best described as “upscale, but not stuffy or over-the-top.” It’s also worth noting that “each ship offers a water sports platform with kayaks, water trampolines, stand-up paddling, snorkel gear, floating carpets, and other ‘toys’ that are deployed (weather and location permitting, of course) at least once on most Greek itineraries.” 

Itinerary: While you can’t go wrong with any of Windstar’s Greece itineraries, Clabbers is quick to call out the popular Treasures of the Greek Isles voyage, which sets sail each week from May through October. Passengers can visit beloved ports of call like Mykonos and Santorini, along with “lesser-known (and less-crowded!) places like Monemvasia and Patmos.” As part of the experience, guests have the unique opportunity to feast among the ruins in neighboring Turkey as part of the line’s complimentary Evening in Ephesus “after-hours” event, which, per Clabbers, features a decadent five-course dinner accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Speaking of culinary offerings, it’s worth mentioning that Windstar is the official cruise line partner of the esteemed James Beard Foundation, which means you can expect some of the top eats at sea.

Explora Journeys

“A new entrant in the luxury travel industry, Explora Journeys offers all the style and comfort of a modern European luxury resort property on its 922-guest yacht-inspired Explora I and, launching later this year, Explora II, ” explains Clabbers. The line has taken the industry by storm, doing away with cliche cruise staples like main dining rooms, large buffets, and notoriously small staterooms. Instead, says Clabbers, guests can choose from a selection of “excellent restaurants that other companies would call specialty restaurants,” as well as “four swimming pools, each with their own vibe,” and all-suite accommodations, some of which boast private plunge pools. Per the pro, it’s worth noting that “Explora Journeys is the first luxury line that offers a dedicated youth activity program and facility year-round;” as such, it’s an excellent option for multi-generational families looking to cruise Greece in style. 

Itinerary: Sailing round-trip from Athens, the aptly named eight-night A Journey from Athens to Athens itinerary includes a mix of popular ports like Mykonos and Santorini, along with hidden-gem locales like Syros, which is famous for its neoclassical architecture, a buzzy main town, and (essentially) crowd-free beaches. The cruise also visits the serene resort town of Marmaris in Turkey before heading to its final port of call, Kos , a gorgeous Greek island known for its sandy beaches, white-washed buildings, and historical sites.

Celebrity Cruises

According to Clabbers, " Celebrity Cruises was launched by a Greek shipping family," so the line has deep ties to — and many officers who hail from — the country. What’s more, he says, "When you visit Greece, they are taking you to their homeland, and it shows in their passion and love of the Hellenic nation." The line offers a range of larger ships and, thus, more options between accommodations (from economical inside rooms to luxurious suites in The Retreat), itineraries, restaurants, and entertainment; as such, Celebrity is "a great option for adults and families who like more activities on their ship." 

Itinerary: The nine-night Best Of Greece itinerary cruises round-trip from Athens on select dates from May to October and takes place aboard the 2,170-passenger Celebrity Infinity , which Clabbers described as one of the line’s “smaller and more seasoned ships.” The first port of call is Santorini, followed by Ephesus in Turkey and Mykonos. “Additionally,” says Clabbers, " Infinity   travels to Volos and Thessaloniki, ports that are not typically visited by large ships.” Kavala, located in the northern part of the country, serves as the final port of call before heading back to Athens. Here, cruisers can enjoy a mix of history, culture, and architecture — plus some seriously stunning landscapes (from lagoons and lakes to wetlands and beaches) along with lush flora and fauna.

Silversea offers a variety of Greece cruise itineraries, and it’s one of few truly luxe all-inclusive cruise lines. Per Clabbers, the 596-passenger Silver Moon offers all-suite accommodations and a classic small-ship feel — complete with excellent meals, beverages, and shore excursions all included in your cruise fare. Speaking of the latter, he says, “The inclusion of shore excursions also makes it easy to dive deeper into Greek culture and culinary experiences.” 

Itinerary: While you can’t go wrong with any of Silversea’s Greek itineraries, Clabbers especially recommends the seven-night Athens to Athens cruise, which “calls on highlights, but adds places like Souda Bay in Crete, Nafplion, Patmos, and Rhodes ,” where he recommends visiting the “temple ruins at Lindos, with views over the Mediterranean, and then walk in the footsteps of the Crusaders in the old town.” The cruise also stops in Nafplion, which, despite its romantic seaside setting and lovely beaches, is yet to be uncovered by most American travelers — for now, at least.

Variety Cruises

According to T+L A-list travel advisor and small ship specialist Mary Curry , this local Greek cruise line offers its own fleet of yachts, most carrying fewer than 50 passengers. Since the ships are so small, says Curry, “you can travel a bit further off the beaten path.” Variety offers a handful of Greece itineraries, including specially themed hiking and wine cruises.

Itinerary: Travelers craving a true off-the-beaten-path experience can book the seven-night Unexplored Greece voyage, which sails round-trip from Athens. The first port of call is Ikira, a tiny island known for its hot springs that also happens to be one of the world’s Blue Zones. Then, it’s off to Patmos, known for its fascinating history and unspoiled beaches, before overnighting in Lipsi, a laid-back isle famous for its gorgeous scenery. On board, guests can taste the destination’s famous wine, Aposperitis. The fun continues in Levintha, inhabited by a single family who raises animals and runs a restaurant where guests can enjoy fresh-caught fish. After, it’s off to Amorgos, where scenic hiking and beautiful beaches abound. The next day, you’ll stop at Panagia Hozoviotissa, a cliffside monastery dating back to the 10th century, before heading to Koufonisia, which boasts majestic caves and rock pools accessible only by boat (thankfully, Variety as you covered). The final stop of the day is the serene island of Iraklia, which offers clear-blue waters ideal for swimming. After remaining here overnight, you’ll head to the final port of call, Serifos, where guests can visit a remote beach, followed by an onboard BBQ feast to refuel before heading to Chora, a fairy-tale village.

This French-owned cruise line offers an impressive fleet of small luxury ships. Additionally, says Curry, “Most cabins have private balconies, and travelers who plan early are rewarded with excellent value for the money.” What’s especially unique about Pontant, explains the pro, is that they “partner with Smithsonian Journeys on select departures to offer an enrichment program of included lectures and shore excursions in each port.”

Itinerary: Curry especially recommends the seven-night Cruising the Greek Islands of the Southern Aegean sailing, which will cruise round-trip from Athens in July and October 2025. The cruise calls on aforementioned spots like Patmos, Rhodes, and Amorgos before visiting Adamas in Milos, a volcanic island teeming with postcard-worthy white-washed towns and breathtakingly beautiful beaches. Adamas itself is a tiny fishing port where colorful boats shimmer against the blue waters. Finally, it’s off to Mykonos and Napflion before finally disembarking in Athens.

Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is world-famous for its exciting onboard offerings for children of all ages — including character and superhero meet-and-greets, dining options themed after beloved Disney princesses, and live performances galore — making it a favorite for families hoping for a fun-filled Greece vacation.

Itinerary: "Setting sail aboard the Disney Dream on the seven-night Mediterranean with Greek Isles itinerary is nothing short of magical!" says Megan Guinnup , a travel agent with Marvelous Mouse Travels . Cruising round-trip from Rome, the ship calls on Naples before exploring Greece. In addition to popular ports like Athens and Mykonos, you'll also visit Chania on the island of Crete, which offers a bustling harbor, exquisite architecture, and cobblestone streets that look like they were plucked straight from a (Disney) fairy tale. After exploring each locale, the fun continues back on board, where, per the pro, "there is enchantment everywhere — meeting beloved characters, enjoying deck parties with Mickey and Minnie, and indulging in exquisite cuisine."

Royal Caribbean

This mega-ship line truly has it all: Flashy entertainment and onboard activities — which, depending on the ship, can include everything from water slides to zip lines — and plenty of drinking and dining offerings to appease even the pickiest eaters. Guinnup and Kari Dillon, owner of Marvelous Mouse Travels, recommend setting sail aboard Odyssey of the Seas , which offers several Greek itineraries. "On board," says Guinnup, "There's a plethora of activities to enjoy, from bumper cars and roller skating to exquisite dining and a bionic bar — there's something for everyone!"

Itinerary: The seven-night Greek Isles itinerary sails round-trip from Rome with stops in Santorini, Ephesus, Mykonos, and Naples. Keep in mind that because the ship is so large, Santorini and Mykonos are both tender ports. With that in mind, Dillon recommends springing on The Key, an optional add-on that includes priority tender access so that you can spend as much time as possible on land basking in its beauty.

Virgin Voyages

Richard Branson’s adults-only line has taken the industry by storm with its innovative offerings, including 20-plus restaurants instead of buffets, an onboard tattoo parlor, adult-focused entertainment offerings, and a two-story nightclub.

Itinerary: Dillon especially recommends the seven-night Greek Island Aglow itinerary for travelers seeking a high-energy, adults-only option. She continues, telling T+L, “Not only does this sail to the islands of Santorini and Rhodes, but it [also] has an overnight in Mykonos, which is world-famous for its lively party atmosphere.” As a bonus, the cruise also calls on Bodrum in Turkey, which boasts beautiful beaches, flower-filled cafes, and a bustling nightlife scene.

Celestyal Cruises

The Greece-based Celesytal Cruises prides itself on offering an authentic Greek vacation experience. Additionally, Celesytal is unique in that it offers year-round Aegean Sea sailings cruising round-trip from Athens and ranging in length from three to 14 nights. On land, Celeystal guests can choose from a selection of the line’s “Authentic Excursions,” which are specially curated, small-group, expert-led experiences designed to take travelers off the beaten path. Options — including walking food tours and pottery-making demos at a local factory — abound, depending on the particular port of call.

Itinerary: The seven-night Idyllic Aegean voyage visits Thessaloniki (which offers an eclectic combination of history, nightlife, and gastronomy), Kuşadası (a popular Turkish resort town), and Heraklion (the capital of Crete) before heading to iconic isles like Santorini and Mykonos, where the ship will remain overnight. Before returning to Athens for disembarkation, you’ll also stop in magnificent Milos.
