This was a great and informative food tour. Aileen was an awesome tour guide. The food was great and we tried things I never would have ordered (and I liked them). I gained an understanding of the history of the neighborhood we were in, and enjoyed the rest of the people that were on the tour. I go on food tours in almost every city I visit and this one was worth it. I highly recommend this tour.

Jacopo was one of the best tour guides I have heard and seen - and I have experienced food tours throughout the U.S and Europe. He was kind, considerate, and obviously has a passion for history and what he does. The tour of Amsterdam was paced (timing and distance wise) very well and the food places chosen were an interesting and also delicious representation of the city. Excellent!

This was our favorite tour in Amsterdam. Our four kids loved all the food and even loved the herring which they have never tried before! We were so surprised. was so nice to hear some interesting and historical facts too. Gerard our guide was so wonderful and thoughtful. We would absolutely recommend this tour! Received great recommendations on restaurants too! Great food and drinks (coffee drinks, beer and even a surprise local liquor with some history) we loved it!

This tour came highly recommended by our friends. And luckily, we ended up having the same tour guide as they did; Mr. Gerard and he also remembered our friends! He’s a retired English Teacher and a true Amsterdammer. Ask him, how Amsterdammers feel about people from Rotterdam :-) He was great! Had good material and personal anecdotes to fill in the time, while we were awaiting our food for tasting at the different locations. Additionally, towards the end of the tour, Gerard took the time to hand write recommendations for each of us, according to our interest (what a great personal touch!) We had a great time!!

If you go to Amsterdam, this is the tour to do. This was my second Eating Europe food tour and it was amazing. It was really a pinch me moment when we were floating along the canals eating cheese and drinking wine. Jelte was an amazing guide. He gave us a great amount of info on architecture and other interesting things about Amsterdam. My friends have always refused to do guided tours. I convinced them to do this one and they loved it. We booked the Paris food tour with Eating Europe after going on this tour. Seriously this will be a highlight of your vacation. I will do the tour again when I return to Amsterdam.

Best day of the trip! The tour covered everything I was wanting. Local food? Check! Walking tour with fun tidbits of history and culture? Check! Canal tour? Check! Bernardo was amazing - informative, fun and witty, and he even took us to some unplanned stops to see some secret gardens - of course with the history and story behind them.

Our guide Mark was excellent. His deep knowledge of the history of Holland and Amsterdam in particular was top notch. Sharing his knowledge of Amsterdam from its early days of it being a commercial power in merchant trade and how this influenced the cuisine and culture of Amsterdam to this day. We visited small shops with expertise in traditional local foods. From apple pie made with apples only found in Amsterdam to an excellent cheese shop whose cheese master recently was awarded the world gold medal. I cannot more highly recommend this tour if you are both a foodie and history buff as me 🙂
