One look at the underground rap duo known as Suicideboys (styled $UICIDEBOY$) and you won’t’ be surprised that they’re from New Orleans.

Just check out their whole vibe, from horror movie imagery to deep occult symbolism, and you can easily imagine this act emerging from the dark corners of the Big Easy’s old school voodoo traditions.

Looking at Suicideboys’ full catalog of hundreds of releases over a seven-year period, not to mention their side projects, guest appearances, alter egos, more collaborations and singles, is all it takes to understand the band’s incredible output.

When you ask fans what all the buzz is about, you’ll hear a lot of answers. The dark imagery and stark nature of their lyrics hits home with lots of people struggling with demons. The make-it-happen roots of Suicideboys’ story makes their art feel authentic and uncut compared to flashier pop acts.

Plus, there’s no denying that this pair are serious sonic explorers, and hip hop is far from the only influence on their relentlessly bass-heavy explorations of the depth of the soul. From heavy beats to ethereal atmospherics, these cousins weave soundscapes which captivate the imagination and inspire fans everywhere.

Starting out as family – Scrim (styled $crim) and Ruby da Cherry are cousins – the Suicideboys were always tight on a personal level. Their mutual love for music helped carry them through the development of their careers.

Having to work different jobs as they leveled up their DJing skills, both explored other genres on the way to their hip hop fame. Punk rock played a huge role in Ruby da Cherry’s musical evolution, while Scrim got into some serious singer/songwriter work even as he continued to practice DJing.

Once the pair got going together, they went big. Suicideboys started recording and self-releasing tracks back in 2014 with the EP Kill Yourself Part I: The $uicide $aga, debuting on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. This project blew up bigger than anybody could imagine, with at least nineteen sequel EP’s in the $uicide $aga series to date. But their big underground breakthrough was with 2015’s $outh $ide $uicide,” a collaboration with rapper Pouya.

That EP put Suicideboys on the map, paving the way for more. Their next big collab, Radical $uicide, with EDM superstar producer Getter, climbed into the top 20 on the Billboard rap charts. In 2018, after already releasing dozens of albums worth of tracks, Suicideboys released their first official full-length album I Want to Die in New Orleans. With this one, they broke into the Billboard 200, peaking at number nine while still working under their own record label imprint, G*59.

In 2019, the cousins got serious on the road, embarking on their first nationwide tour. The Grey Day Tour included guests like Trash Talk and Pouya and only increased their following.

After taking a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, $uicideboy$ broke through in 2021 with a second full length album. Long Term Effects of Suffering was another big hit with their fans, peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 charts and number two on the Top Rap Albums charts, and number one on the Indie charts. Also in 2021, the duo hit its first certified platinum single with “...And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around.” A second Grey Day Tour followed in 2021 with fellow artists from their G*59 label.

Now fully back up and running, $uicideboy$ resumed its relentless output. In 2022, they released their third full length record, Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation which debuted at the top of the Billboard Rap charts. This album had more hints of positivity than the band’s previous work, possibly signaling another evolution in the duo’s career.

In 2022, $uicideboy$ was one of the featured headliners at the Quebec City Summer Festival alongside heavyweights like Alanis Morissette, Maroon 5, and Luke Combs. High profile stints like this prove they’ve come a long way from the underground scene.

Live reviews

When $uicide Boy$ came to the Historic El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico, no one was ready for it unless they of course went to their last show at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico "South Side Suicide". Show was so good people left and right were literally passing out and when it was over people were so satisfied and so worn out, they didn't ask for an encore. This was also a rare opportunity because whenever any good rap/hip hop artist come out here (excluding Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, ASAP Rocky, any other trash artist) they usually go to the Sunshine Theater (Albuquerque, New Mexico) or Launchpad (Albuquerque, New Mexico) and The Historic El Rey Theater is the largest indoor theater that ABQ has to offer and the owner is strict to only allow EDM type music to perform. The Historic El Rey Theater should allow more good rap/hip hop artist to perform there. $uicide Boy$ will always be good. Only thing to complain about them? The fact that we had to wait an hour and a half PAST opening time for them to start the show not including the extra thirty minutes for opener to start.

The venue was easy to find with great facilities. The show itself I was very excited for and expecting held up. The speakers and lights created an awesome environment.

Some more detailed information could have been provided on webpages prior to concert rather than finding out on the day about who the pre acts would be. The information I read said that “DJ Meth” would start his performance at 8:30 and he didn’t start until 8:45 which was disappointing.

I haven't been to a lot of concerts (3 including $uicideboy$) and they hands down are my favorite. I saw them on tour with Ski Mask The Slump God and $not. Their love for their fans is indescribable and the whole vibe they had at the show was amazing. They played new songs, old songs, and even niche ones. I can't wait to see them live again. I 100% recommend any fan to see them live no matter how many songs you know.

$uicideboy$ always has the greatest shows, and this one was no exception. They are high energy and overall amazing. The vocals from the two are unmatched, and they are the BEST artists that I have ever heard. It was through one of their concerts that I became a die-hard fan, and continuing to go to their concerts is one of the greatest experiences one could ask for.

Best concert I've been to so far! Definitely going to see them again when they come back to Canada! The mosh pit was so insane that a bunch of seats got broken, the crowd was great always picked you up immediately if you fell down, and of course seeing Scrim, Ruby, and CrystalMeth was fucking amazing!!!

claudia-andersen-1’s profile image

The concert was absolutely amazing!

I had so much fun at the concert and the atmosphere was insane.

Being a huge fan of Suicideboys i had to get the tickets as soon as they released and they were so good live.

If they ever return to England I’ll certai be going to watch it!

Concert was awesome. People were already trying to mosh to the funk music playing in the background. Only thing is it took forever for the actual show to start... guess that’s what happens when the fan base is full of 16 year old hypebeasts. That said, it was worth it.

mimixkiki’s profile image

One of the best if not the best Concert I've ever been to. Basically 2 hours of constant moshpits and the best songs in their discography all in a Sold Out Show. Ruby and Scrim looked like they had a lot of fun and interacted with the crowd in a lot of ways

01.) “Not Even Ghosts Are This Empty” 02.) “F—ing Your Culture” 03.) “1000 Blunts” 04.) “Matte Black” 05.) “A Little Trauma Can Be Illuminating, and I’m Shining Like the Sun” 06.) “O PANA!” 07.) “Carrollton” 08.) “Kill Yourself (Part III)” 09.) “Antarctica” 10.) “Memoirs of a Gorilla” 11.) “Paris” 12.) “If Self-Destruction Was an Olympic Event, I’d Be Tonya Harding” 13.) “Bloody 98” 14.) “Hot Razor” 15.) “That Just Isn’t Empirically Possible” 16.) “5 ’N The Mornin’” 17.) “Escape from BABYLON” 18.) “WE ENVY NOTHING IN THE WORLD.” 19.) “Avalon” 20.) “LTE” 21.) “Now I’m Up to My Neck With Offers” 22.) “2ND HAND” 23.) “FOR THE LAST TIME” 24.) “Runnin’ Thru the 7th with My Woadies” 25.) “…And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around”

$uicideboy$ new music

On March 29, $uicideboy$ dropped the first single from their forthcoming “NEW WORLD DEPRESSION.”

The three-minute “Us V. Them” is a menacing, sample-heavy banger you won’t be able to get out of your head.

$uicideboy$

$uicideboy$ announce grey day tour 2024.

Today, New Orleans duo $uicideboy$ have announced the schedule for their renowned annual Grey Day Tour in 2024. Rap cousins Ruby da Cherry and $crim will embark on a 41-date arena and amphitheater tour across North America, kicking off in Nashville, TN, at Bridgestone Arena on August 7th. The highly-successful and largest Grey Day Tour to date will feature stops in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena, in Atlanta at State Farm Arena, in Chicago at United Center Arena, and will conclude in Lincoln, NE at Pinnacle Bank Arena on October 11th. The opening acts for the tour include Denzel Curry, Pouya, HAARPER, Shakewell, and Ekkstacy. Below is the complete list of tour dates with supporting acts in each city.

Pre-sale tickets will be available starting tomorrow, April 4th, at 10 AM local time. General ticket sales will begin on Friday, April 5th, at 10 AM local time. Link to purchase both pre-sale and general on-sale is available HERE .

This year for Grey Day Tour 2024, $uicideboy$ have partnered with PLUS1 for something very near and dear to the group: mental health. $1 per ticket will go towards helping those that need it the most. Ruby da Cherry and $crim are very excited about this partnership, and this is only the beginning of their plans to give back to those that have given them so much.

Since its inception in 2019, the Grey Day Tour has emerged as a standout and one of the "absolute coolest" summer tours, uniting rap and hardcore genres, while also serving as a launching pad for the first national tours for many critically acclaimed artists as well as showcasing artists from their independent label G59 Records. According to Billboard , the Grey Day Tour has propelled the $uicideboy$ into the Top 20 rankings of highest-grossing hip-hop touring acts of all time.

Coinciding with the tour announcement, the group has revealed the lead track “Us Vs Them” from their eagerly awaited next full-length album, titled New World Depression , set to release on June 14. On "Us Vs Them," the $uicideboy$ delve into facing tough challenges and feeling disconnected from society. Ruby da Cherry and $crim deliver verses about coping with personal struggles and maintaining one's identity in a challenging world. The single has already been featured on official Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday US  and landing the cover Tirade and Alternative Hip-Hop. A link to stream the single is HERE .

Throughout New World Depression , the duo navigates themes of fame, self-destruction, and the relentless search for identity amidst chaos. Across the 13-track release, their raw, unfiltered lyrics serve as a gritty narrative of personal turmoil, substance abuse, and the struggle for authenticity in a world that often feels cold and indifferent. This album is an unapologetic exploration of the darker sides of human experience, resonating with anyone who has ever felt out of place or battled with their own shadows. The album will commemorate the 10th anniversary since the formation of $uicideboy$. Album pre-save is HERE .

Since forming a decade ago in 2014, the $uicideboy$ have prolifically shared their distinctive fusion of rap, punk, and trap with audiences worldwide. Starting out as pioneers of the SoundCloud Rap movement, they have gone on to deliver a tremendous amount of music and have achieved over 20 billion all-time streams, placing them in the Top 100 streaming artists of all time. In 2023, they were one of Spotify’s Top Groups of 2023 and one of SoundCloud’s Top 5 Most Streamed Artists .

$uicideboy$ draws light from the deepest corners of darkness, addiction, hopelessness, and pain. The New Orleans-bred duo of cousins—Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petroua.k.a. Ruby da Cherry—translate a fight against demons into aclever, caustic, and corrosively catchy apocalyptic vision of hip-hop pierced with punk intensity and laced with Southern flows. The world was first introduced to $uicideboy$ in 2014. Since then, as trailblazers of trap-metal and punk-rap, they have amassed over 24 billion collective streams, securing their position among the Top 100 Most Streamed Artists Of All Time.Their numerous projects have earned multiple RIAA certifications and debutsamong the Top 10 of the Billboard200. Some accomplishments include the platinum-certified“...And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around” and gold-certified tracks such as “Carrollton,” “2nd Hand,” “Runnin’Thru The 7th With My Woadies,” “Paris,” and “Kill Yourself (PartIII).”Moreover, their annual Grey Day Tour, which started in 2019,has emerged as a standout and one of the largest summer tours, uniting rap and hardcore genres, playing in arenas and amphitheaters worldwide. Jon Rahm ditched the PGA Tour for LIV Golf. So why is he talking like a PGA fanboy?

Jon rahm chose liv golf. and now he has the temerity to show up at the pga championship trying to position himself as a supporter of the pga tour and a member in the middle of a temporary absence.

will suicideboys tour in 2024

Maybe Jon Rahm knows something the rest of us don’t. Or maybe he’s the biggest sucker in professional golf, an easy mark who got sweet-talked and money-whipped by Greg Norman and the Saudis into taking a deal that will doom him to a lifetime of professional regret.

It was hard to tell Tuesday at the PGA Championship, when Rahm strolled into a press conference and said the following in response to a question about how he sees the PGA Tour’s messy backroom politics now that he plays for LIV Golf.

“You guys keep saying 'the other side,' but I’m still a PGA Tour member, whether suspended or not,” Rahm said. "I still want to support the PGA Tour. And I think that’s an important distinction to make. I don't feel like I'm on the other side, I’m just not playing there.”

Did Rahm’s reported $300 million contract with LIV come with a duty to abandon all pretense of self-awareness? Or has dining out on the Saudi dime eroded his thoughtfulness the same way it turned some of his colleagues ( cough, Dustin Johnson, cough) into monuments of the competitive fire they used to possess?

If Rahm believed sincerely last December that joining the hit-and-giggle tour would help bring the PGA Tour and LIV closer to unification, the only honest way to assess his decision is that it failed.

He’s not moving the needle for LIV, which remains a bizarre product that isn’t seriously competing for eyeballs with the PGA Tour.

His departure hasn't forced the PGA Tour to get its own house in order because all public indications are that it's as messy as ever behind the scenes.

And at this point, the goals of LIV and the Tour appear so far apart – and negotiations between them so slow – that it's difficult to conceive what it will take to get the best players in the world reunified under one banner.

If Rahm is happy as a LIV golfer, playing on a tour where the results don’t matter while most of his contemporaries and friends squabble over the Tour’s backroom politics, that’s perfectly fine. We are far beyond the point in this debacle where it’s worth the oxygen to criticize individuals for the career decisions they've made or worry about who’s got the moral high ground.

When it comes to who’s got the best interests of professional golf in mind, it's impossible at this point to distinguish the good guys from bad. That’s how badly the PGA Tour has bungled every aspect of the LIV threat.

But what’s very clear is that Rahm made a choice last December. And now he has the temerity to show up at the second major of the year trying to position himself not merely as a supporter of the PGA Tour but as a member in the middle of a well-paid, temporary absence?

That’s not going to fly with either golf fans or Rahm’s former colleagues. It’s intellectually dishonest. It’s borderline delusional. And it may be actively unhelpful given the current environment where there’s a clear divide between PGA Tour players pushing for unification and those on the PGA Tour policy board who seem at minimum to be resisting compromise.

Last week, the big drama involved a revelation that Rory McIlroy tried to get back on the policy board after resigning his seat last year but was blocked by the current members. Some reporting suggested a growing rift between McIlroy, who has advocated for striking a deal with the Saudi-run Public Investment Fund (PIF), and the current Tour powerbrokers who include Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods.

“It's good to see it differently, but collectively as a whole we want to see whatever is best for all the players, the fans and the state of golf,” Woods said Tuesday. “How we get there, that’s to be determined. But the fact we're in this together and in this fight together to make golf better is what it's all about.”

Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated reported Monday that investment mogul Jimmy Dunne, who worked closely with PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and PIF leader Yasir Al-Rumayyan on last year’s framework agreement to bring the two entities together, has resigned his position on the PGA Tour board.

In a letter to his colleagues, Dunne wrote that “no meaningful progress has been made towards a transaction with the PIF” since the players were given more power in Tour decisions and that he can no longer help realize his goal of reunifying the game.

There’s no real clarity at the moment about what the Woods/Spieth/Cantlay group wants to see to get a deal done. Are they just flat-out opposed to the likes of Rahm and Brooks Koepka being able to play PGA Tour events after taking the Saudi money that they themselves refused? Do they simply want to play all their golf in North America rather than a more worldwide tour that the PIF would likely prefer?

It's hard to say because nobody wants to talk directly about terms given the sensitivity of negotiations that seem to be stalled.

“It’s ongoing, it’s fluid, it changes day to day,” Woods said. "Has there been progress? Yes. But it’s an ongoing negotiation so a lot of work ahead for all of us with this process, and we’re making steps. It may not be giant steps, but we’re making steps.”

Maybe they need to walk a little faster.

Divvying up the world’s best players across two tours has had a predictable effect on fans: They’re sick of the politics. They’re stunned by the greed. And they’re watching less golf on television this year as a result. Even the final round of the Masters this year took a hit, dropping 20 percent from 2023.

If you’re a golf fan who lives and breathes this stuff, the present is exhausting and the future is frightening. If you’re a more casual viewer or someone who buys a ticket to their local tournament one day a year, it’s completely nuts that McIlroy and Spieth are competing on a different tour than Rahm and Koepka. What planet are these guys living on?

Whether or not you have a moral objection to Saudi sportswashing and its growing influence in a wide profile of leagues across the world, the reality is that you can either bring them on mutually agreeable terms or let them destroy you. While LIV has not been a financial success and often seems like a caricature of a competitive sport with its 54-hole tournaments, distracting team format and dance music constantly blaring in the background, it’s not going away anytime soon.

And LIV has forced some long-overdue changes to the PGA Tour’s schedule, its purse structure and how players engage with the future of their enterprise. Phil Mickelson wasn't wrong about everything.

But at least Mickelson, as cynical and greedy as he was, picked a side and didn’t apologize for doing it. Rahm wants to play both sides while getting a pat on the back for the choice he didn't make as opposed to the one he made. He wants us to be just as wistful as he is that he no longer gets to play the Waste Management or the Farmers and is instead wasting time on unserious golf in Jeddah and Singapore.

But Rahm made his choice. He’s a LIV guy now who wants the PGA Tour guys to think he's still one of them. It doesn't work that way – not now, and maybe not ever.

Detroit Lions sell out season tickets again; How you can still get seats in 2024

Want to see the Detroit Lions play at Ford Field this season? Better act fast when the 2024 schedule releases Wednesday night.

The Lions announced Monday that season tickets for the 2024 season are sold out and a limited number of single-game seats will go on sale when the schedule releases at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

This is the second straight year the Lions have sold out of season tickets.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

The Lions went 12-5 last season, reached the NFC championship game for the second time in franchise history and were one of the hottest draws in the NFL. The Lions ranked 25th in home attendance last season (64,850, about capacity for NFL games at Ford Field) and fifth in road attendance (72,389).

The team hiked season ticket prices this offseason, in some cases by more than 150% , to pull in line with the secondary market, but the increase did little to thwart demand.

"I understand the ticket increase was substantial for certainly lower bowl seats, near the 50-yard line, but I think if people went back and looked at what they could have paid those seats for on the secondary market, and what our playoff games were going for, it’s really where the market is," Lions president Rod Wood said in March. "We’ve had 96% renewal rate, so nobody’s really abandoned their tickets. We still have, I think it’s approaching 20,000 people on a wait list, and we’ve been very cautious over the years recently in not increasing the prices and have really fallen quite a bit behind the league average, and this barely catches us up to just below league average."

NEW LIONS TO MEET: Ex-CFL star Mathieu Betts thankful for second NFL chance with Detroit Lions

The Lions have a difficult but compelling schedule this fall, playing the first-place teams from the NFC East, NFC South and AFC East in crossover matchups, plus home-and-home against the NFC North and games against the entire NFC West and AFC South.

They have rematches against all three teams they played in the playoffs last season, the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, plus games against the Buffalo Bills at home and Dallas Cowboys on the road.

The NFL announced its kickoff game Monday, with the Baltimore Ravens visiting the Kansas City Chiefs, and will announce several other primetime and international games before the full schedule is unveiled at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Wood said at the Lions' uniform unveil last month the team was an "enticing" TV draw to the NFL's broadcast partners and he expects the team to approach the maximum of six allotted prime-time games.

"You get six scheduled plus Thanksgiving, technically, and then you can actually be flexed into a seventh," Wood said. "I think we’ll be towards six. Whether we get six or not, I don’t know."

Tickets will go on sale Wednesday at Ticketmaster and the Lions website .

The Lions are still accepting waitlist additions for season tickets for a non-refundable deposit of $100 per ticket.
