Aldi Is Selling an Under-$20 Weekender Bag Perfect for Spring Travel, and It's Guaranteed to Fly Off Shelves

  • Author: Alani Vargas

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

With plenty of spring travel opportunities happening these days, or even if you're making plans for the summer, finding the perfect travel bag is a must. If you’re tired of unorganized chaos in your purse when you go through TSA or you want a bag that can greatly reduce the amount of luggage you bring on your flights or road trips , a duffle or weekender bag might be in your future. You’ve probably seen them from BÉIS and CALPAK, but luckily Aldi is releasing a weekender bag for less than $20 just in time for all your vacay needs. Starting the week of March 20 until March 26, Aldi’s dropping some pretty fantastic Aldi Finds. On top of their new Aldi gear, they’re selling a Serra Weekender Bag for $19.99. It comes in three colors: black, floral and striped. They all have faux leather accents around the middle and corners and for the straps. The black one is a pretty straightforward solid black. But the floral bag has dark purple straps and accents with an all-over white and light purple flower pattern. And the striped bag has light brown faux leather accents and straps with a white and tan stripe pattern from the top of the bag to the bottom (it’s pretty chic!).  Related:  Aldi Is Selling a $15 Cordless Car Vacuum That's Similar to RYOBI

The BÉISICS Duffle ($88), which is smaller than their staple Weekender Duffle and doesn’t have a shoe compartment. But it is in the same vein of bags as the Serra Weekender Bag; a sturdy duffle with a middle pocket, an outside pocket, handles and a shoulder strap.

The BÉISICS Duffle in Grey , $88 at BÉIS

CALPAK’s Stevyn Duffel Bag with Shoe Compartment ($112). It has a bottom shoe compartment like The Weekender Bag from BÉIS and has all the pockets and straps you’d want from a trusty travel duffle. This one comes in several colors and comes from another brand that has popularized trendy travel bags.

So, obviously, Aldi’s Serra Weekender Bag is a great choice for anyone looking for one of these travel duffles but not wanting to spend over $50. If you can’t get to Aldi the week this is available in store, Target has a similar bag for around the same price. The XL Duffel Weekender Bag by A New Day is on sale for $27 and comes in black and dark green.

But if you do want to save some cash, the Aldi Weekender Bag seems like a good choice for a stylish duffle bag. Happy travels!

Aldi’s New Travel Collection Includes a Leather Overnight Bag for Under $100

Stephanie Nuzzo Avatar

If you brush the dust off your carry-on luggage and test out your favourite noise-cancelling headphones, do they still do the job effectively? If the answer is no, Aldi has announced a fresh new Special Buys range that’s perfect for you.

Following the announcement of the Trans-Tasman travel bubble confirmation, the supermarket and retail chain revealed that it would now be slinging affordable AF travel accessories that are made for travel-hungry Aussies.

What’s included in Aldi’s Executive Travel Special Buys range?

The hero item in the collection would have to be this Leather Overnight Bag for just $89.99 each. It’s made from oiled buffalo leather and comes in three different colours – honestly, I don’t know how it’s so cheap. It looks damn great.

Aldi

But in addition to that baby, Aldi also has:

  • Packing Pouches for $8.99
  • Powerbank 6000mAh for $9.99
  • Travel Executive Accessories for $14.99 (manicure set, toiletry bag, wallet and handkerchief set)
  • Laptop Sleeve for $19.99
  • AO: Executive Backpack (11/2020) for $39.99
  • Premium Noise Cancelling Headphones with Bluetooth for $79.99 (and we all know there aren’t many headphone options under $100.)

Check out the full range here , and be sure to check the details regarding product delays in certain stores before making your way over (these things can be super frustrating, so plan ahead).

International — and of course, domestic — travel is back on the cards (ICYMI, quarantine-free travel from Australia to New Zealand is back this Tuesday, April 12), and so, with that, means the need for a suitcase.

Because no doubt, you’ve reached for yours out of storage or from the back of a dusty closet and found that it’s far from useable, whether that be from it being covered with mould , filled with dents or that it’s just far too bulky for what you actually need.

Fortunately, Aldi has come to the rescue at just the right time, releasing a range of executive (read: luxury-feel) luggage. Part of the German supermarket’s much-loved Special Buys, the range will be in stores from Wednesday, April 6 and will feature an $89 overnight bag made from buffalo leather, $69.99 noise-cancelling headphones with Bluetooth and a $39.99 backpack with an incredibly handy, in-built USB charging point.

The very best of The Latch delivered straight to your inbox.

ALDI REVIEWER

A Guide to Shopping at Aldi: Dos and Don’ts

aldi travel handbag

Credit: Aldi

Anytime a person goes to Aldi for the first time, it’s a little strange. I’ve been there. Fortunately, with a little help, you can navigate some of those Aldi-specific conventions.

Here, then, are some dos and don’ts for shopping at Aldi.

Before You Go

Do: Bring your own bags

One of the big differences between Aldi and many other stores is that bags are not free. You can purchase bags at checkout, but you’ll find things run a little smoother if you can bring some of your own, and you’ll save a few cents. Reusable bags are invaluable if you shop regularly at Aldi.

Do: Bring a quarter

You’ll need a quarter to get a cart. (Don’t worry; you get it back when you leave.) It’s part of the system Aldi has devised so they don’t need to hire extra employees to bring carts back in from the parking lot, and it ultimately saves you money. When you arrive, you simply slide a quarter into a slot on top of a cart, which releases the cart to you from the rest of the carts. When you leave, you plug the cart back in and retrieve your quarter.

Don’t: Expect to find everything

It’s a low-inventory store, and while we find well over 80%-90% of what we need, it’s probably inevitable that you’ll be unable to find a few key items. On the other hand, if you keep tabs on the weekly Aldi Finds , those elusive things you’re looking for may show up at special times of the year.

Don’t: Call it “Aldi’s”

The most common mispronunciation of the store, even by some longtime shoppers, is Aldi’s . It’s not : it’s  Aldi , with no possessive at the end.

Aldi Shopping Cart Etiquette

Do: Feel free to give your quarter to a person returning their cart

It’s common and acceptable practice to approach a person returning an empty cart and offer them your quarter, and they, in turn, give you their cart. It speeds things up a bit by cutting out the returning person latching the cart and the arriving person unlatching it. (Just make sure, of course, that their cart is empty.)

Don’t: Give two dimes and a nickel to a person who is returning his or her cart

We’ve actually had this happen — a person came up to us, said, “I’ll take your cart,” and handed us change rather than a quarter. Technically, it’s the same amount of money, but it’s considered rude. Give them a quarter. My wife also once had a person hand her a fistful of change that included pennies, and she later discovered she had been shorted a penny or two. It’s not a major loss, but for courtesy’s sake, don’t do this to fellow shoppers. If you need correct change, go into the store and ask a cashier to trade your loose change for a quarter. They will gladly do so.

Do: “Pay it Forward” if someone did it for you

Sometimes a Good Samaritan will hand off a cart with a quarter in it without asking for a quarter. Aldi doesn’t encourage this, and we understand why — the whole point is to create incentive for people to return their carts — but if someone does this, feel free do the same for the next person. It’s quite possible this pay-it-forward has been going on all day. If no one is around when it’s time for you to hand off your cart but you still want to pay it forward, simply put your cart in the cart collection area but don’t plug it back in, leaving it free for the next shopper to quickly grab.

Don’t: Leave your cart in the parking lot

For some people, even the lure of twenty-five glorious cents isn’t enough for them to return their cart. So be a good person and return your cart. Remember, Aldi keeps their costs down by relying on customers to do a bit of work.

Aldi Aisle Etiquette

Do: Grab empty cardboard cartons if you need them

Sometimes you’ll see large metal bins with empty cardboard packaging in them. These are completely fair game for customers and are actually left out in case people need them. I’m most likely to make use of them if I’m only there for a few items and didn’t grab a cart on the way in, or if I don’t have any bags, but they can also be useful in other ways. (They make great cat beds , for instance.) Just don’t gamble on them being there, because, depending on the time of day, they may not be.

Don’t: Linger too long in the aisles, especially on a busy day

Aldi stores come in various sizes, but many of the older stores have some narrow aisles, with the alleyways between aisles especially tight. Be aware of your surroundings, especially during peak shopping hours. If you really want to hang out in the middle aisle, just make sure you’ve left a pathway clear for other customers.

Do: Ask questions of workers if you need something

I’ve found Aldi workers to be about as knowledgeable and helpful as any group of workers at any grocery store I’ve ever been to. Because Aldi stores are lean operations, with just a few employees, the people working there tend to know quite a bit about the store. A few months ago, for example, I couldn’t find an Aldi Find item I was looking for. I wasn’t sure if it had sold out or hadn’t arrived. When I asked about it at the checkout, another worker in the next lane over said that she’d stocked those shelves and knew the product hadn’t arrived. (Delays sometimes happen with certain Aldi Find products.)

On a related note, don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need assistance with a specific bulk item. I did that when I bought the  Gardenline Two Person Swing , which was far too big to put in a cart. The Aldi cashier got someone out to help me put it on a flatbed cart and helped me get it out to the car.

Don’t: Forget to check for clearance items

On occasion, Aldi will clearance out products that have been on the shelf for a while. Some Aldi stores have specific endcaps for this purpose, while others will simply keep the clearance items on the shelf. What gets clearanced, by how much, and when can all vary from store to store, so we suspect it’s a store-level decision. Often the items will be small, but not always: we got our aforementioned Gardeline Two Person Swing for $50 … half off.

Aldi Checkout Etiquette

Do: Push your cart into the space right at the end of the checkout line when you get to the front

The general flow of the checkout aisle is to push your cart up to the front where the cashier can get it. Often, the cashier will use the cart immediately in front of yours to fill your groceries, then use your cart for the person behind you. Make sure your cart, once unloaded, is near the cashier so he or she can get at it.

Don’t: Start loading your groceries onto the belt before the person in front of you has finished putting their groceries on the belt

We shouldn’t have to say this, but it happens. We’ve witnessed Aldi cashiers having to pause and politely tell a shopper to wait because they were crowding us out while we were still unloading our cart. Leave some space for the shopper ahead of you.

Do: Use cash, credit, debit, EBT, Apple Pay, or Google Play

Aldi’s payment options have expanded nicely in recent years, including the glorious decision in 2016 to accept credit cards. You can use cash, credit, or debit, and debit users can even get cash back. Aldi also accepts EBT cards for qualifying items. According to Aldi’s website , they do not currently accept checks or WIC (Women, Infants, and Children). Also keep in mind that if you use the new self-checkout stations at Aldi, they do not take cash.

Don’t: Use checks or WIC

Like most grocers nowadays, Aldi doesn’t take checks. Unlike most grocers, though, Aldi doesn’t take WIC. We understand the check part, but we really wish Aldi was able to serve WIC families.

Don’t: Try to use coupons

Aldi almost never accepts coupons or other promotionals. (One rare exception is during the grand opening of a store.) Don’t try to use a manufacturer’s coupon; they don’t take them, and you might get an evil eye from people around you for slowing down the line. And don’t even think about sharing or printing that thing you saw on social media for a big Aldi coupon — it’s a fake . Of course, you’ll find that Aldi without coupons is usually cheaper than many places with them.

Don’t: Run off with a cart if you didn’t pay for one on the way in

If you didn’t bring a cart in, don’t take the one the cashier is using. It’s not polite.

About Joshua

I love Aldi’s. The workers are very knowledgeable. The prices are very good. My fellow shoppers make the experience good as well. They always smile and speak to each. Due to some physical limitations, I have difficulty reaching some items. There’s always a customer walking by who stops to help. Yes, I love Aldi’s!

aldi travel handbag

Easy, convenient, clean, items easy to see plus the cost. I also like the isles with goodies. It might b pj’s, leggings, a personal shopping carts, nice candles & then items that seem to b on the way out. How could I forget 1st isle with yummy baking products. That’s just the beginning. Ice cream & flowers last isle

aldi travel handbag

This is for all shoppers. Don’t wait for the cashier to finish ringing up all your goods before you decide how you’re going to pay. I see somany people holding up the line trying to figure out how they are going to pay. It’s like they have never been to a store and everyone has to stand by and watch these people suddenly realizing oh yeah I do have to pay for these goods. Then waiting while they figure out do they have enough cash or where’s my credit card or which card should I use. Like it’s their first time in a store.

aldi travel handbag

Thank you, thank you, thank you for not referring to the process of obtaining a cart as “renting,” as many Aldi detractors do. The term, ‘Renting’ carries the connotation of not getting one’s money back. ‘Deposit,’ on the other hand implies one’s money will be returned when they return a cart to the docking station.

I Spent 10 Days in Thailand and the Maldives With Just a Carry-on Thanks to This Roomy Duffel Backpack

It went through four flights, a boat ride, a shuttle, and a buggy — and still looks brand new.

If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I pride myself on packing light and packing right . As a frequent flier, who also happens to change outfits several times a day whilst traveling, it’s my superhero skill to magically pack plenty of wardrobe changes in just one carry-on and one personal item — no more, no less (I haven't checked a suitcase since 2016, and that was when I was moving from Los Angeles to London). That being said, I’ve been on a perpetual quest to find the perfect personal item, and finally found it in the Calpak Terra 26-liter Laptop Duffel Backpack .

Before I wax poetic on the wonders of this sturdy and stylish bag, it’s important to understand what I’m looking for in a personal item. For starters, it should hold as many things as humanly possible while still easily fitting underneath an airplane seat or overhead compartment (bonus points if the bag itself is ultra lightweight to start with). Since my carry-on roller bag is often packed to its limit with clothing, I generally rely on my personal item to double as a catchall for toiletries, extra shoes, souvenirs, hair tools, and anything else that I couldn’t possibly jam into my suitcase before zipping.

Calpak Terra 26-liter Laptop Duffel Backpack

My personal item must also have a luggage trolley sleeve to secure onto my suitcase (since I am often lightly jogging through the terminal to catch flights), and it should also hide wear and tear as much as possible since my bags tend to take a beating no matter how careful I am on farflung getaways. Ideally, it would also have a water bottle sleeve for easy access and plenty of pockets to keep my charging cables, passport, laptop, and the like as organized as possible when trekking from hotel lobbies to airport lounges at any given time.

For my recent 10-day journey to Thailand and the Maldives , I ambitiously decided to test out my new Calpak Terra Laptop Duffel Backpack for the first time ever and hoped for the best. I’ve waited my entire life to finally cross these two dream destinations off my bucket list, so I needed my luggage to be nimble and lightweight to keep up with the fast pace of my trip to paradise. Much to my delight, this sturdy backpack did not disappoint.

Made with recycled water bottles, this durable, eco-friendly bag has a glossy ripstop finish and a water-resistant exterior, which means that it maintains a pristine condition despite a bit of a rough and tumble travel day. I boarded four planes, one boat, one shuttle, and a buggy to finally arrive at my dreamy overwater villa at the Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort (absolutely worth the trek, in case you were curious), and I couldn’t believe how flawless my backpack looked after it was handled by a number of transportation operators along the way.

During the trip, I used my backpack as my go-to carryall for toting around snorkel equipment, wet swimsuit storage, and souvenir shopping purchases, and it came in clutch for every occasion. It also doubled as a makeshift tripod whenever I needed to capture the indescribable beauty of the resort or the majestic sea life in the crystal clear blue ocean (baby black tip reef sharks, sea turtles, and manta rays aplenty) since its structured shape makes for a sturdy base whilst propping up a phone.

But what I appreciated most about the Calpak Terra Laptop Duffel Backpack is that it's a thoughtfully designed travel bag. The padded shoulder straps took a load off my back and the clamshell opening was convenient for quick packing when time was of the essence. I loved that it had a separate padded sleeve for my laptop so I never had to worry about spills, and found that the backpack (which also doubles as a duffel with the switch of the detachable shoulder strap) to be incredibly comfortable to wear; and also roomy with several mesh integrated pockets to keep swimwear, sandals, snacks, and sunscreen perfectly stowed and neatly compartmentalized throughout my travels.

It's safe to say that the Calpak Terra Laptop Duffel Backpack passed its inaugural test run with flying colors, and that it's earned a permanent spot in this carry-on-only traveler's gear repertoire. In case you need a bit more convincing, Calpak makes plenty of other pretty-much-perfect bags of all sizes and shapes, so keep scrolling for more options to explore on your next adventure.

More Travel Bags at Calpak:

Calpak terra laptop backpack.

If you’re a fan of the Terra collection, but want something smaller for everyday living, school days, or office commuting, you’re in luck because this compact backpack is currently on final sale in select colors. This sleek style features a back slip pocket to hold laptops up to 14 inches and adjustable padded shoulder straps for all-day comfort. If the great outdoors are calling your name, you’ll be delighted to know that you can even swap out the removable laptop sleeve for a 2-liter hydration reservoir for hikes or weekend adventures.

Calpak Luka Duffel Bag

Up until I discovered the Terra Laptop Backpack, the Luka Duffel, which has even earned a stamp of approval from Oprah , was my go-to personal item for years, so I can enthusiastically vouch for this travel bag, too. It’s stylish, functional, and holds all of my essentials with ease, which is likely why I have three of these must-have bags at home. The separate shoe compartment on the bottom is a brilliant feature that often comes in handy when you're a carry-on-only traveler, and the color options for the Luka (there are over 17 shades and counting) can’t be beat.

It’s also important to consider bonus features, like pockets and organizational compartments, and, as Sanz notes, “A crucial function is to ensure that you’re able to hang your garment bag when you arrive at your destination, so that you can prepare your outfits as easily as possible and to ensure that all your clothes are crisp.” Keeping all this in mind, we found the 12 best travel garment bags out there today. Once you start using one of these, you’re never going to go back.

MZ Wallace’s signature quilting isn’t limited to the brand’s totes, appearing here in garment bag form. The thin design is extremely lightweight, ideal for quick trips when you need to bring one to three outfits. There is even an exterior pocket for bonus storage.

Dimensions: 22" × 3" × 39"

Materials: Oxford, leather

What reviewers are saying: “I have been interested in a MZ Wallace garment bag for a while. It is perfect! Just right proportions and size. Thoughtful design and construction details.”

Tumi always delivers premium luggage that will last you over a decade, and this garment bag is no exception. Sanz says: “It’s foldable, with a sturdy handle for easy carrying, making it convenient and compact for every type of travel. I also love that it has several zipper pockets, so I can pack my toiletries and other travel essentials all in one bag. When I arrive at my destination, I hang it in the closet and I know that I will be ready to go.”

Dimensions: 15" x 22" x 6"

Materials: Ballistic nylon

What reviewers are saying: “This bag stores so much for a carry on. I was able to comfortably fit 2 suits and more for a destination wedding!”

This duffel has been receiving high praise ever since its release. A few of the reasons it’s so popular: The duffel is carry-on friendly, water-resistant, and has interior and exterior pockets. And those are only a few of its distinguishing features. Choose an original or compact size for the style that suits your needs.

Dimensions: 22" x 12" x 12"

Materials: Polyester

What reviewers are saying: “The Garment Duffel is a great purchase, especially for anyone in an industry that takes short frequent trips. I was actually able fit quite a bit more clothes than I had anticipated. Took the bag to work and my company bought 20 of them to give to customers. Great purchase.”

Longchamp’s iconic nylon and leather trim takes on a garment bag silhouette. The two-tone design exudes sophistication, with practical touches like a top carry handle, built-in hanger, and front zip pocket.

Dimensions: 23.25" x 41.25"

Materials: Nylon, leather

What reviewers are saying: “I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who travels a lot and needed a nice garment bag particularly for his suits. This bag is perfect! It fits his suit as well as a few extra shirts. The fabric is an amazing, durable quality, and the leather details make this product look incredible.”

This garment bag is actually designed to fit inside of your carry-on, rather than serving as a stand-alone piece. The water-resistant exterior protects against spills, and exterior zip pockets hold small accessories. It gets the job done, while taking up the least possible amount of space.

Dimensions: 40" x 19"

What reviewers are saying: “I use this bag when I need to workout at work. I go from a suit to athleticwear in minutes.”

Looking for an affordable option that is available ASAP? Amazon’s garment bag holds up to three suits or dresses and boasts multiple zipper compartments.

Dimensions: 40" x 4" x 20.5"

What reviewers are saying: “I bought this bag in 2019 and it has held up incredibly well since then, performs all functions advertised at a great price value. I have taken it on many flights, buses and train rides and have never had an issue with fitting it in the overhead bin on both longer-haul flights and short budget-airline carriers.”

Hartmann’s garment bag adds contemporary touches to an otherwise traditional design. The result? A chic, useful travel accessory that will stand the test of time. The padded shoulder strap and multiple interior pockets enhance the convenience of this style.

Materials: Nylon

What reviewers are saying: “Hartmann was an anniversary gift from my work place, and I am still proud to own it 35 years later.”

Dimensions: 20.5" x 24" x 9.5"

What reviewers are saying: “It’s easy to maneuver and overall great quality and very neat design (many compartments and zippered areas).”

For golfers and non-golfers alike, Stitch makes a duffel that is water- and stain-resistant, and includes a hanger hook, shoulder strap, elastic shoe pockets, and webbed handles. You can even get it customized with your initials.

The trains and stations of the Moscow Metro

2 Comments · Posted by Alex Smirnov in Cities , Travel , Video

The Moscow Metro is the third most intensive subway system in the world after Tokyo and Seoul subways. The first line was opened on May 15, 1935. Since 1955, the metro has the name of V.I. Lenin.

The system consists of 12 lines with a total length of 305.7 km. Forty four stations are recognized cultural heritage. The largest passenger traffic is in rush hours from 8:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 19:00.

Cellular communication is available on most of the stations of the Moscow Metro. In March 2012, a free Wi-Fi appeared in the Circle Line train. The Moscow Metro is open to passengers from 5:20 to 01:00. The average interval between trains is 2.5 minutes.

The fare is paid by using contactless tickets and contactless smart cards, the passes to the stations are controlled by automatic turnstiles. Ticket offices and ticket vending machines can be found in station vestibules.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

Aldi’s insane luggage sale is back, including a $99 two-piece suitcase set

Aldi’s suitcases are famous for being as good as the super-expensive major brands — and now’s your chance to snag some for under $100.

Aldi bring back their travel ‘Special Buys’ this weekend. Picture: AAP Image/Sue Graham.

Detail that totally transformed family trip

They’re the super-affordable suitcases deemed just as good as the expensive, top-brand ones.

And now, just weeks before Australia launches into summer holiday mode, they’re coming to an Aldi store near you.

This Saturday, Aldi is dropping its travel-themed Special Buys sale, featuring some of the best suitcases and packing at a budget price tag.

So, if you’ve been meaning to update your luggage collection, now is the time.

For starters, the discount retailer will be selling its SkyLite two piece soft luggage set for $99. This package deal will come with a 67cm tall bag, and a 77cm suitcase.

The SkyLite bags can be purchased in a set for just $99.

These “spinning” suitcases come with a built-in TSA lock, lockable zippers and an expandable main compartment. The smaller bag weighs just 3.2kg when empty, while the larger one comes in at just 3.7kg.

A carry-on version is also available and will cost you less than $40.

Another real bargain is the children’s luggage bags for just $29.99 each. The four wheel roller-bag comes in multiple colours and designs, featuring a hard shell and spinner wheels.

The best bit is Aldi’s SkyLite suitcases are regarded by experts as being comparable to the bigger, more expensive brands in the luggage game.

The Aldi travel bags on offer from Saturday.

Kerry Fowler, Buying Director at ALDI Australia said the sale comes at a perfect time to coincide with families getting ready for their summer holiday.

“There are suitcase sets and travel adaptors, to everything you could need for the kids,” she said. “Whether you’re staying close to home or heading abroad, you’ll find travel essentials to suit any trip.”

The kids are well looked after in this timely travel sale.

Last year, Choice gave Aldi’s popular $40 56cm Spinner suitcase an overall score of 86 per cent after rigorous testing of products on the market . That was on par with Samsonite’s 55cm Spinner, which was given a score of 87 per cent but costs a massive $329.

But suitcases aren’t the only travel-related items you can grab in Saturday’s sale.

Aldi will also sell other travel essentials like noise-cancelling headphones with rechargeable battery for $69.99 that last for 15 hours, and a RFID security wallet which protects credit card data from Radio-frequency identification scanning.

This nifty power adaptor can work in 150 countries.

There’s also a rolling backpack for $39.99 and a nifty universal power adaptor which has four USB ports, two AC sockets and works in 150 countries including Europe, the UK, the US and Japan – and it’ll cost you less than $20.

A relaxing holiday with a child under five is a rare find – but this destination has managed to work out the magic formula.

A popular hotel in Sydney has announced a new offering for guests — and it’s a welcome addition for anyone with kids in tow.

An epic new $168 million water park is opening in Europe next year, featuring a water slide with the world’s highest drop.
