Carnival Australia comprises seven leading cruise lines. Three of these – P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line – are the only companies to base ships from Australia year-round.

In addition, a number of other ships from across our cruise lines are deployed Down Under seasonally or visit local ports during the summer months. Through our local fleets, Carnival Australia has  played a key role in driving the growth of the Australian cruise industry to record highs over more than a decade.

Playing a key role

Cruising makes a significant contribution to the national, regional and local economies – more than $5 billion in economic activity annually, and the industry supports nearly 20,000 jobs.

At 5.7 per cent, Australia has had the highest market penetration by population in the world. Seven out of ten Australians who took an ocean cruise sailed on ships operated by Carnival Australia brands. Across the Tasman, Carnival Australia has accounted for more than 75 per cent of New Zealand’s cruise passengers.

Carnival Australia played a key role in the rebuilding of the industry and the revitalisation of the growth of cruising following the 2020-22 pause in operations. We support our travel sector partners, including travel agents, fresh produce suppliers, tour operators, entertainers and the communities that our ships visit, especially in the Pacific Islands.

Carnival Cruise Line  has opened new 2025-26 Australia cruises from homeports of  Sydney  and  Brisbane . The new cruise options now available for guests include unique sailings to Fiji and New Zealand on  Carnival Splendor , as well as sailings to Fiji and Papua New Guinea on  Carnival Luminosa , along with several Great Barrier Reef cruises on both ships.

Cruises from Sydney on Carnival Splendor

From Sydney, Carnival Splendor will offer a range of itineraries, with cruise options spanning from three to 12 days, to much-loved destinations across Australia – including the Great Barrier Reef, Moreton Island, Tasmania and a Melbourne Cup cruise, as well as idyllic international destinations such as Fiji, South Pacific islands and New Zealand. 2025-26 Australia Cruises

The 3,012-guest Carnival Splendor features many of the venues Carnival guests know and love fleetwide, including  Guy’s Burger Joint ,  Pizzeria del Capitano  and the  Alchemy Bar . The ship offers something for everyone – from the waterslides at  WaterWorks  aqua park to the  Serenity Adult-Only Retreat .

Cruises from Brisbane on   Carnival Luminosa

From Brisbane, Carnival Luminosa will sail to popular destinations like Airlie Beach and the Great Barrier Reef, along with tropical South Pacific paradises including Fiji, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, and Vanuatu. Florence in California: Carnival launches new Italian-style cruise ship

Carnival Cruise Line is bringing a touch of Italy to Southern California.

The line launched Carnival Firenze, inspired by its namesake city, this week. The vessel sailed its maiden voyage from its Long Beach homeport on Thursday.

“We carry more guests than any other cruise line from California, and now this ship is giving us the opportunity to offer more fun to more people sailing from Long Beach,” Christine Duffy, the line’s president, said in a news release . “The recipe combining this ship’s beautiful Italian theming with the familiarity of our friendly team’s hospitality is, in a word, perfecto!”

The ship is the second in the Carnival Fun Italian Style concept after sister ship Carnival Venezia joined the fleet last summer. Both were originally part of Costa Cruises – also owned by parent company Carnival Corp. – before being rehomed.

Where will Carnival Firenze sail?

The roughly 5,000-guest ship will offer Baja Mexico and Mexican Riviera cruises ranging from three to seven days. Stops include destinations like Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Catalina Island.

What can guests expect on board?

Built in 2020, Firenze was refurbished earlier this year to add Carnival-specific touches. Those include staple venues like the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and JavaBlue Cafe.

But the line leans into the ship’s Italian motif. The ship’s atrium was designed with Florence’s Piazza del Duomo in mind and the Lido deck takes influence from the Italian Riviera. There’s even a replica of Michelangelo’s David on board that was previously on Carnival Pride (the real sculpture is located in Florence’s Accademia Gallery).

The theme extends to the food and drink options, with eateries like Italian specialty restaurant Il Viaggio, Mexican-Italian fusion venue Tomodoro and La Strada Grill, serving Italian street food. Frizzante specializes in bubbly drinks, and passengers can sip craft cocktails and Italian coffee at Amari.

Other features include the WaterWorks water park and Serenity Adult-Only Retreat.

How much does Carnival Firenze cost?

Prices vary based on sailing date and other factors, but a five-day Mexican Riviera cruise departing on May 30 currently starts at $409 per person based on double occupancy, according to Carnival’s website . The fare includes much of the food on the ship, drinks like regular coffee and iced tea and more.
