Ease of use
Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting the backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).
Maneuverability
Maneuverability is assessed by trained testers, taking into account how well each stroller, with a weight bag "passenger," maneuvers on our course: in S-turns through cones, in narrow sections, on grass, dirt trails with tree roots and other debris, uphill, downhill and up and down curbs.
Safety is assessed by testing to the requirements of the federal stroller safety standard, 16 CFR Parts 1112 and 1227, which incorporates, by reference, the most current version of the ASTM stroller safety standard, ASTM F833-19. We also put strollers through Stability and Braking and other tests designed by CR.

Detailed Test Results
The Inglesina Trip is part of the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Traditional and other strollers models like the Trip are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
Ease of use: Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting the backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).
Maneuverability: Maneuverability is assessed by trained testers, taking into account how well each stroller, with a weight bag "passenger," maneuvers on our course: in S-turns through cones, in narrow sections, on grass, dirt trails with tree roots and other debris, uphill, downhill and up and down curbs.

Suitable for 6 mos. and under
Suitability for babies 6 months and younger means the stroller's seat reclines to nearly flat. It may include a safety flap or enclosure at the child's feet so, if not harnessed, he can't slip or wiggle out of the seat. Even with this added feature, the harness should always be used. Strollers with the note "with accessory" require a separately purchased accessory to accommodate a 0-6 months baby safely, per the manufacturer.
Car-seat compatible as sold
Car-seat compatibility is useful when moving a sleeping infant from a car to the stroller; there's no need to wake your baby from that much-needed nap. In our Ratings, strollers designated as "Car-seat compatible as sold" include any and all accessories needed to install at least one model of infant car seat. Some strollers allow a car seat to snap right in, while others may need a bracket or other adapter.
Suitable for running or jogging
According to the manufacturer, this stroller can be used for running or jogging. Remember to check with your pediatrician before taking your little passenger along for a run; CR's medical experts advise that a child should be one year old before riding with a running parent. A younger baby may not have sufficient head and neck control to tolerate the bumps and jounces he might experience on your run. Be sure to read the appropriate section of your stroller's instruction manual carefully before taking your child out for a run with you.
The width of the stroller in inches, as reported by the manufacturer on their website.
Meets Disney parks' stroller size requirements
In early 2019, Disney instituted size restrictions for strollers within their parks. Strollers may be up to 31 inches wide, and up to 52 inches long. YES means the stroller complies with the Disney requirements.
Weight of stroller with included accessories and stroller seat installed (if removable).
Folded size
Testers' judgment of the relative folded size of the stroller.
One-touch brakes
One-touch brakes are more convenient than standard brakes. Arguably still more convenient - and certainly more friendly to parents wearing open-toe shoes - are hand-operated one-touch brake levers such as those found on some Baby Jogger, Chicco and other strollers.
Stands folded
Strollers that are self-standing when folded are convenient in restaurants or other tight spaces. It also makes storing at home easier.
One-hand fold
The ability for a stroller to be folded one-handed.
Adjustable handle
An adjustable handle can accommodate parents or caregivers of different heights.
Suitable for newborn
Indicates if the stroller's seat is suitable for newborn to six months, on its own or with a car seat or other accessories.
5-pt harness
A five-point harness secures child firmly. Unlike a three-point harness, it has shoulder straps and secures the upper body.

Inglesina Trip
- Very lightweight (15.66 pounds)
- Compact when folded
- Shock absorbent
- Easy to maneuver
- Easy to carry when folded
- Easy assembly
- Tricky to fold
The Inglesina Trip is an umbrella stroller that comes with a slew of accessories many companies charge extra for. Out of the box, the Trip has a bumper bar, rain cover, and a cup holder. It also has under-seat storage, a retractable canopy, and padded shoulder straps. Consumer testers gave it high marks for weight and maneuverability.
How We Tested: We reviewed 21 strollers in the traditional, umbrella, and jogging categories and evaluated each for safety, performance, and ease of use. We tested each stroller for potential for pinching, resistance to tipping, and how well they brake. Our lab also evaluated weight, folded volume, and shock absorption as well as how easy each stroller was to assemble, clip in a baby, and recline. Consumer testers also helped evaluate folding/unfolding, carrying while folded, and maneuvering. All jogging strollers were run-tested to ensure a smooth ride.

Inglesina Trip Features & Specifications
The seat unit, the canopy (hood), the bumper bar, the suspension, the handlebar, the carrycot, the car seat, the accessories & extra features, parent reviews of the inglesina trip, overall fine.
Small basket, like with all buggies. Overall fine. It doesn't wobble, it is sturdy, stable, lightweight.
Perfect for bigger kids and for travelling
- Easy to push
Perfect lightweight stroller for bigger kids and for travelling.
Somewhere where you need to carry it with the baby, like on public transport or up stairs, good
- Good hood coverage
- I'm kicking the wheels
- I don't like to have my arms too far out in front of me
- My son complained that his back hurts
As a stroller somewhere where you need to carry it with the baby, like on public transport or up stairs, good. But I wouldn't normally want to take it for walks.
Reclinable, compact, good even for a 4-year-old
- umbrella fold
- peek-a-boo window
Reclinable, compact (with an umbrella style of fold), good even for a 4-year-old. I used it a lot for plane travels abroad with my little one.
When our daughter grew up, we gave it (in perfect condition) to a friend who has been using it for over a year already without any issues
We bought it as a second buggy, especially for traveling purposes. We were choosing according to our requirements (compactness, low weight, easy maneuverability, lay-flat position, sun hood). Our previous experience with the brand was positive - so the Trip was an easy choice. We prefer practicality and quality over some nonsense features. We bought it new and we used it on all our holidays and trips. The color was a darker brown, and it did not fade. When our daughter grew up, we gave it (in perfect condition) to a friend who has been using it for over a year already without any issues.
As the name Trip suggests, this buggy is great for trips and frequent folding
A great buggy - lightweight, suitable even for a bigger kid. I have been using it for a few months, and I am very satisfied. As the name Trip suggests, this buggy is great for trips and frequent folding. The canopy is waterproof with UV50+. The only drawback is the not-so-sturdy positioning of the leg rest, but that's only a small detail.
Easy folding and maneuverability
- adjustable leg rest
Easy folding and maneuverability. The backrest can be put in 3 positions. <3
Rather lightweight, and the seat fabrics can be removed and washed
- Lightweight
- Small-ish shopping basket
It can be easily folded with one hand. Rather lightweight, and the seat fabrics can be removed and washed.
Higher-quality buggy at an affordable price
- Ease of folding
- Adjustable back- and leg rest
- Safety latch, so it will not unfold by itself
- Handle for carrying the buggy when folded
- A pocket in the back of the canopy
- Accessories - footmuff, parasol, travel bag
Higher-quality buggy at an affordable price.

Inglesina Trip Stroller: Perfect for Public Transportation, Errands and Walks
I was excited to try out Inglesina’s Trip Umbrella Stroller (MSRP $189) — because I am such of fan of their Zippy Stroller ( click here to read our recent review).
The Trip is a lightweight umbrella stroller that clocks in at a delightful 14.5 lbs. Features include a four-position reclining seat, extendable leg rest, and a back zippered storage pocket.
It’s ideal for public transportation and quick trips in and out of the car, and has enough suspension to work well for long walks.
Putting it Together The stroller came put together — so you can use it right out of the box.
The Ride The Trip has excellent suspension. I was able to push it one handed, while holding my older child’s hand. Steering was also easy.
The Seat The seat was a good size — both my 3 ½ year old andmy 15 month old fit in it well. My tall 3 ½ year old had plenty room to grow with the sun canopy. The stroller is not recommended for children under 3 month due to its lack of a flat recline. (In Europe it’s recommended for kids 6 months and up). The weight limit is 45 pounds.
Storage While the Trip is much less tippy than other umbrella strollers, I still was careful not to pile too much on the hood or hang a heavy diaper bag off the handles. Using a pannier bag or placing either ankle weights or heavier items in the decent sized, very accessible, basket, helped to stabilize it . Sun/Weather Exposure The sunshade protected my children from the sun decently, but I wish it could have tilted down like the sun canopy on the Zippy Stroller — which is just about the most perfect sun canopy I’ve ever encountered on a stroller. The hood is waterproof, so if it rains and you don’t have the rain cover, you’ll be okay. The rain cover was actually outstanding – it attaches on the side of the stroller, with snaps. It folds up very compactly and comes with a little drawstring bag to store it in.
Accessories A rain cover and an attachable cup holder are included.
The Fold The Trip has an umbrella fold. Just pull up the lock in the rear center of the stroller, push down forcefully on the secondary lock on the right side of the stroller and push forward using the handlebars. The automatic lock will engage to keep the stroller closed. The trip has a carry handle on the side, I would have also loved a shoulder carry strap.
Pros: The Trip is lightweight, compact, and has good suspension.
Cons: No height adjustable handles. Lacks a shoulder carry strap.
Final Verdict: We like this lightweight umbrella stroller for public transportation, errands and walks around the neighborhood.
If you want to go even more lightweight, check out Inglesina’s Swift Stroller ($119). It’s suitable for babies 6 months and up, 4-position recline and has a weight capacity of 45 lbs. It does not come with a rain cover and weighs in at 13.5 lbs. From June 8th to July 31st, the Trip’s MSRP will be $169 under a special promotion.

Why were so many metro stations in Moscow renamed?
Okhotny Ryad station in Soviet times and today.
The Moscow metro system has 275 stations, and 28 of them have been renamed at some point or other—and several times in some cases. Most of these are the oldest stations, which opened in 1935.
The politics of place names
The first station to change its name was Ulitsa Kominterna (Comintern Street). The Comintern was an international communist organization that ceased to exist in 1943, and after the war Moscow authorities decided to call the street named after it something else. In 1946, the station was renamed Kalininskaya. Then for several days in 1990, the station was called Vozdvizhenka, before eventually settling on Aleksandrovsky Sad, which is what it is called today.
The banner on the entraince reads: "Kalininskaya station." Now it's Alexandrovsky Sad.
Until 1957, Kropotkinskaya station was called Dvorets Sovetov ( Palace of Soviets ). There were plans to build a monumental Stalinist high-rise on the site of the nearby Cathedral of Christ the Saviour , which had been demolished. However, the project never got off the ground, and after Stalin's death the station was named after Kropotkinskaya Street, which passes above it.
Dvorets Sovetov station, 1935. Letters on the entrance: "Metro after Kaganovich."
Of course, politics was the main reason for changing station names. Initially, the Moscow Metro itself was named after Lazar Kaganovich, Joseph Stalin’s right-hand man. Kaganovich supervised the construction of the first metro line and was in charge of drawing up a master plan for reconstructing Moscow as the "capital of the proletariat."
In 1955, under Nikita Khrushchev's rule and during the denunciation of Stalin's personality cult, the Moscow Metro was named in honor of Vladimir Lenin.
Kropotkinskaya station, our days. Letters on the entrance: "Metropolitan after Lenin."
New Metro stations that have been opened since the collapse of the Soviet Union simply say "Moscow Metro," although the metro's affiliation with Vladimir Lenin has never officially been dropped.
Zyablikovo station. On the entrance, there are no more signs that the metro is named after Lenin.
Stations that bore the names of Stalin's associates were also renamed under Khrushchev. Additionally, some stations were named after a neighborhood or street and if these underwent name changes, the stations themselves had to be renamed as well.
Until 1961 the Moscow Metro had a Stalinskaya station that was adorned by a five-meter statue of the supreme leader. It is now called Semyonovskaya station.
Left: Stalinskaya station. Right: Now it's Semyonovskaya.
The biggest wholesale renaming of stations took place in 1990, when Moscow’s government decided to get rid of Soviet names. Overnight, 11 metro stations named after revolutionaries were given new names. Shcherbakovskaya became Alekseyevskaya, Gorkovskaya became Tverskaya, Ploshchad Nogina became Kitay-Gorod and Kirovskaya turned into Chistye Prudy. This seriously confused passengers, to put it mildly, and some older Muscovites still call Lubyanka station Dzerzhinskaya for old times' sake.
At the same time, certain stations have held onto their Soviet names. Marksistskaya and Kropotkinskaya, for instance, although there were plans to rename them too at one point.
"I still sometimes mix up Teatralnaya and Tverskaya stations,” one Moscow resident recalls .
“Both have been renamed and both start with a ‘T.’ Vykhino still grates on the ear and, when in 1991 on the last day of my final year at school, we went to Kitay-Gorod to go on the river cruise boats, my classmates couldn’t believe that a station with that name existed."
The city government submitted a station name change for public discussion for the first time in 2015. The station in question was Voykovskaya, whose name derives from the revolutionary figure Pyotr Voykov. In the end, city residents voted against the name change, evidently not out of any affection for Voykov personally, but mainly because that was the name they were used to.
What stations changed their name most frequently?
Some stations have changed names three times. Apart from the above-mentioned Aleksandrovsky Sad (Ulitsa Kominterna->Kalininskaya->Vozdvizhenka->Aleksandrovsky Sad), a similar fate befell Partizanskaya station in the east of Moscow. Opened in 1944, it initially bore the ridiculously long name Izmaylovsky PKiO im. Stalina (Izmaylovsky Park of Culture and Rest Named After Stalin). In 1947, the station was renamed and simplified for convenience to Izmaylovskaya. Then in 1963 it was renamed yet again—this time to Izmaylovsky Park, having "donated" its previous name to the next station on the line. And in 2005 it was rechristened Partizanskaya to mark the 60th anniversary of victory in World War II.
Partizanskaya metro station, nowadays.
Another interesting story involves Alekseyevskaya metro station. This name was originally proposed for the station, which opened in 1958, since a village with this name had been located here. It was then decided to call the station Shcherbakovskaya in honor of Aleksandr Shcherbakov, a politician who had been an associate of Stalin. Nikita Khrushchev had strained relations with Shcherbakov, however, and when he got word of it literally a few days before the station opening the builders had to hastily change all the signs. It ended up with the concise and politically correct name of Mir (Peace).
The name Shcherbakovskaya was restored in 1966 after Khrushchev's fall from power. It then became Alekseyevskaya in 1990.
Alekseyevskaya metro station.
But the station that holds the record for the most name changes is Okhotny Ryad, which opened in 1935 on the site of a cluster of market shops. When the metro system was renamed in honor of Lenin in 1955, this station was renamed after Kaganovich by way of compensation. The name lasted just two years though because in 1957 Kaganovich fell out of favor with Khrushchev, and the previous name was returned. But in 1961 it was rechristened yet again, this time in honor of Prospekt Marksa, which had just been built nearby.
Okhotny Ryad station in 1954 and Prospekt Marksa in 1986.
In 1990, two historical street names—Teatralny Proyezd and Mokhovaya Street—were revived to replace Prospekt Marksa, and the station once again became Okhotny Ryad.
Okhotny Ryad in 2020.

Our reclining strollers for babies and toddlers also boast exceptional focus on comfort and ergonomics. On hot days, lift the flap on top of the canopy for added ventilation and visibility. The hood is not only equipped with UPF 50+ protection, but also offers a zippered extension which acts as a full sunshade. A spacious storage basket allows you to bring all the essentials on the go. With a 5-point safety harness and a reflective material for added safety to improve visibility at night, you can be sure your little treasure is safe! When looking for lightweight baby strollers, the Quid is the clear choice. Open: 18.3" W x 40.6" H x 30" D. Closed: 18.3” W x 22.8 H x 6.8" D. Seat height: 16”. Wheel diameter: front 5.5", rear 6.2”.
