In this 10-hour Tuscany day tour, you will explore the lovely medieval walled city of Siena where you will visit the stunning cathedral and the piazza where the famous Palio takes place twice a year, you will stare in awe at the views of the Tuscan countryside, you will enjoy a local meal in the Chianti region that includes also a tasting of their famous wines, and you will have the chance to visit the little gem of San Gimignano.

After exploring new towns, sightseeing, enjoying a delicious meal and also having some free time to enjoy on your own, you will get back to Florence just in time for dinner.

Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano full-day wine tour from Florence

Another great day tour from Florence including plenty of food and wine is this one on “Get Your Guide” to Montalcino, Pienza and the famous Montepulciano wine region.

On this pretty cheap tour from Florence, you will explore the gorgeous Tuscan countryside, you will taste the famous wines Brunello di Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano, will visit Val D’Orcia and stare at its wonderful landscape, and obviously sample some traditional foods.

Why You Should Visit Florence With A Tour

Visiting Florence on a private tour is more interesting than wandering by yourself. While you are going to be able to see most of the Florence sights independently, you might miss the history and interesting historical events that took place. If you are still not sure whether to visit Florence with a private tour or not, keep reading these top Florence tour reviews.

It’s time-saving

Regardless of when you visit Florence, it will be packed with tourists. This causes queues to buy the tickets as well as queueing to enter Florence’s historical sights. Without guided Florence tours you can expect to spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours waiting in the lines to get a ticket for Florence sights such as the Accademia Duomo, Uffizi, and Palazzo Vecchio.

But going with a skip-the-line private Florence tour, your ticket would be already taken care of and you will have private entrance access to cut out the crowds. Therefore, you won’t be wasting time waiting outside in the heat or cold and you can see more especially if you are spending only one day in Florence .

But that’s not all. Booking a private Florence tour will eliminate the confusion on where to start or where the most important art masterpieces are kept. So, again, you will be saving time and avoiding headaches. Even if you plan your trip independently with our Italy travel guide , you can still book one of the best Florence tours for a day or a couple of hours.

It’s more interesting

Walking for an hour inside a 3 or 4-store building can get frustrating and boring if you don’t know what you are looking at, where to start and where the popular artwork is kept. Going without an expert Florence city tour guide, you also wouldn’t know the interesting facts about most works of art preserved in the galleries.

It’s even worse when the art information board is occupied by other tourists. Booking one of the Florence Italy tours will speed up the process, eliminate any confusion, and make it way more interesting than walking on your own.

You can see and learn more

As you wander through Florence’s streets and piazzas, you’ll discover masterpieces on every corner. And if you want to see as many places as possible, you will need experienced Florence tour guides who know every inch of the city.

They know which road to take and what to see first, second, and so on. Although you can walk around without a Florence tour, you might miss many interesting facts on the road. Each building has a history and interesting facts which are only possible to know if you are led by top Florence tour guides.

Final Word on Private Tours of Florence, Italy

We recommend you join one of these tours in Florence to experience the city of your dreams. These top Florence guided tours are designed completely around your requirements.

They include the best wine tours in Florence Italy, Florence food walking tours, day tours from Florence and more. All you need to take care of is a charged camera with plenty of empty space to take pictures because those landmarks are breathtaking.

  • We’ve arranged express access and pre-reserved tickets at all the sites, and with group sizes of 15 or fewer you are guaranteed a relaxing, engaging day.

Tour description

Immerse yourself in history, art, and architecture on our carefully crafted florence in a day tour..

If you only have one day to see Florence's top artistic and architectural gems, you'll want to make the most of every second—and on this tour, you will. With pre-reserved express entry tickets to the Accademia and Uffizi, you'll breeze past the long lines at Florence's most renowned art galleries, leaving you more time to explore the treasures within. Coupled with an expertly guided stroll through central Florence—where highlights like the Duomo, the famous leather market, and a few of the city's liveliest piazzas await—you'll see and experience it all in one unforgettable morning.

Hear the untold stories behind Michelangelo's larger-than-life David and discover one of the world's oldest galleries.

Your Florence in a Day Tour whisks you past the long queues and into the world famous Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo's David, and the Uffizi Gallery. Meet the city’s most famous resident: Michelangelo’s David, whose beauty and size must be seen to be believed. Your expert guide will teach you about the enigmatic genius behind the sculpture and give you a rare insight into his methods with a visit to the unfinished Slaves sculptures that line the far side of the room.

Meanwhile at the Uffizi Gallery, feast your eyes on masterpieces by Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli’s Primavera and Birth of Venus. Organized chronologically, the Uffizi collection offers a rare opportunity to watch art develop over the course of several centuries. Your guide—a passionate expert on Renaissance art—will take you through the ages so you can see the flat, two-dimensional paintings of the Medieval era blossom into the beautiful three dimensions of the Renaissance.

Stroll picturesque streets and piazzas to experience the life and soul of Florence.

Your Florence in a Day Tour also includes a guided walking tour of Florence. You'll pause outside the imposing cathedral (Duomo) where your guide will tell you how its enormous dome narrowly avoided catastrophe to become the greatest architectural achievement of its age. You'll also see the Florence Baptistery, home to a set of intricately decorated bronze doors so beautiful that Michelangelo himself called them the "Gates of Paradise."

From there, you'll continue your breezy stroll through the heart of Florence, where outdoor artwork and busy piazzas await around every picturesque corner. Your guide will bring the streets to life with stories from Florence’s checkered past—from the mighty Medici family to philandering kings and Renaissance masters. Along the way, you'll stop at the famous Palazzo Vecchio, discover beautiful outdoor sculptures at Piazza della Signoria, hear how the old Roman forum became the Jewish ghetto at Piazza della Repubblica, and swing by the famous Leather Market (and meet its lovable bronze mascot: Il Porcellino).

Between the city walking tour and your second museum visit of the day, you'll take a short break for lunch. It isn't included in the tour price; however, your guide will point you in the direction of some of their favorite nearby spots.

Seeing Florence in a day is no easy feat. But with a carefully planned itinerary and a small group size of only 15 people or fewer, your full-day Florence tour will be relaxed and easygoing. Because it’s not enough just to see Florence. You need to experience it, taking in its world-class art, fascinating history and stunning architecture with a local expert whose stories will stay with you for years to come.

We’ve all got that image of Italy, the quintessential Italy. Rolling green hills, a girl in dark sunglasses and a head scarf, a 1960’s Fiat 500 growling as it struggles up another hill. Well, we can provide the Fiat 500 and the rolling green hills, but you’ll have to bring your headscarf.

You have two options here. With the first, you’ll get to drive your own Fiat 500 as you follow a guide around Tuscany. This option is excellent for the gearheads who want the experience of driving one of these vintage vehicles on the very roads they were designed for.

With the second, you sit back and let the guide drive for you. I’ll be honest, on the roads themselves, it isn’t as fun. But when you stop for lunch, being the passenger has its advantages as you sip on a cold glass of wine with your traditional Tuscan lunch.

Both options lead to unforgettable experiences. But which one to take? Well, that’s up to you!

  • Fully equipped vintage FIAT 500
  • Professional tour driver
  • Light Tuscan lunch

Florence City Break - 3 Days/2 Nights

I am 21 years old and myself and 3 of my friends (ages 18-20) booked this tour as a way to see Florence without breaking the bank. I can honestly say that it was more than I expected it to be. We were blessed with great weather which contributed to our satisfaction of the tour. The wine tour was absolutely amazing! The vineyards we visited as well as the sights we got to see along the way were like something out of the movies. The tour would not have been the same without our phenomenal guide Veronica! She was so informative and we learned so much about Florence and Italy that we didn't know before. We never wanted to leave and are for sure coming back to visit again!

While this was a "busy" tour it was terrific especially for the first time to Tuscany. We enjoyed touring so many vineyards and their "cantinas". We were able to modify some parts of the tour with no problem at all. Omar at Soleto Tours was always available and everything worked as advertised. Great for those Tuscany first timers.

Our tour guide Nancy had a very heavy accent. Quite difficult to understand. And difficult to communicate clearly. Other than that the trip was amazing. Plenty of time to explore on our own and excellent guidance to make the most of our time in each location.

Unique 8 days in Tuscany Adventure

This 7 day tour of Tuscany was everything and more than what we hoped for. The villa is beautiful with the most gorgeous view of the valley, the chef is great and the staff super accommodating. Paolo is a great guide and extremely knowledgeable about what seems like everything! I do hope we see him again on our future adventures in Italy. The different towns were interesting and unique in their own ways and the wineries and lunches at the farmhouse were super! Of course, the hot springs were special and definitely worth the visit to Tuscany in of themselves. Overall, we had a romantic and relaxing getaway in this beautiful part of Italy that I think everyone should visit! Mariya and Andrew

When we first arrived and all the list and instructions were in Spanish, I began to worry that I had ruined our family vacation. But to my surprise Claudia came to the rescue. She made sure that she gave the tour in Spanish and English for the small group of us in the group. And towards the end she went out of her way to get the English group their own guide. I believe that saved our whole vacation. So thanks Claudia.

Florence, Italy: cradle of the Renaissance

Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world. The most popular and important sites in Florence include the Cathedral , the Baptistery , the Uffizi , the Bargello , and the Accademia . The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable art galleries, and the library of San Lorenzo is a magnificent exhibition of Michelangelo's architectural genius. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio , and experience the "newest" area of Florence, the Oltrarno . Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace . When you grow weary of museums and monuments, head outdoors. Spend a day at the Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte to experience an enchanting view of Florence, Italy.

Florence and its magnificent treasures await your visit!

Best time for travel best of italy.

While just about any month is great to visit Italy, there are a few prime times of the year for the Best of Italy tour. Here are some recommendations from our destination experts.

Throughout Italy, the most popular times to visit are April, May, June, September, and October. Along the coast, July and August are busy with locals and Europeans on summer holiday, while cities are usually less crowded.

Winter: To experience Venice without the crowds, December, January, and February are best. Take a walk beside the canals on a quiet evening, where you can hear your footsteps echoing off the water.

Spring: Enjoy Italy in the spring season, with fewer tourists and comfortable temperatures. March is the sweet spot, when the weather is warm, but not too hot. This quieter time of year is ideal for comfortably exploring the cities and towns.

Fall: With fewer crowds, cooler days, and a bit of foliage to enjoy, November is a fantastic time to travel in the Romagna and Tuscany regions.

During you stay in the Romagna countryside, you have a choice between two activities. Your first choice is to enjoy a relaxing day, basking in the bucolic landscape of your wine resort and pamper yourself with an organic wine-infused mud treatment. Your second choice is to spend the day in Ravenna (UNESCO). During the darkness that enveloped the last days of the Roman Empire, Ravenna emerged as a center of power thanks to its strategic position. The city’s rulers – the Byzantines, the Goths – adorned its churches with dazzling mosaics. During a guided walking tour, discover the city’s most illustrious monuments including the mosaics that inspired Cole Porter’s Night and Day.

Hotel-Maison Venezia UNA Esperienze

On a compelling tour of its most famous antiquities, discover why Rome has been known through the ages as the “Eternal City.” The city’s ancient remnants serve as an undisputed testimony to its former glory as the seat of an empire. Hear the distant echoes of 45,000 cheering spectators when you visit the Colosseum, the site of legendary gladiator contests. Walk up the steps like millions have before you, marveling at the ingenuity and scale of this world-famous structure. Your tour continues with a guided visit to the Campidoglio – Rome’s Capitol Hill. Once a temple dedicated to Jupiter, the area was redesigned by Michelangelo during the Renaissance. From the Campidoglio, admire expansive views of the Roman Forum, the social space that once was the beating heart of the Empire.

The Vatican Museums are not only home to one of the world’s greatest collections of art, but also to the world-famous Sistine Chapel. Priceless artifacts from ancient Egypt, Etruscan Italy and cultures around the world are preserved in the Vatican’s palaces, galleries, halls and rooms. Follow a local expert guide on a three hour, in-depth visit through this vast collection. Highlights include the Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries and, of course, a visit to the Sistine Chapel. The chapel’s famous ceiling frescoes took Michelangelo four years to complete. His brilliant Last Judgment, which rests on the altar wall, was a topic of controversy for centuries. Other walls feature paintings by Pietro Perugino, Sandro Botticelli, Cosimo Rosselli and Domenico Ghirlandaio. Your final stop will be at St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most important churches in Christendom, and until recently, the largest in the world.

Embark on a walking tour featuring Florence's artistic and architectural gems.

Discover the craftsmanship behind the Venetian gondolas during a visit to a local Remèr oar-making workshop.
