The remaining dates for Paramore ’s North American “This Is Why” tour have been canceled. After delivering a performance in Seattle on the night of Aug. 9, frontwoman Hayley Williams informed fans via social media that the band would no longer go on due to her contracting a lung infection.

The impacted dates are in Portland on Aug. 10 and Salt Lake City on Aug. 13, which would have been the closing date for the trek that kicked off earlier this May. The band was forced to postpone a handful of other shows in late July, putting a halt to stops in Seattle and Portland, as well as an earlier stop in San Francisco.

“I have been doing everything I can to fight this infection so we wouldn’t have to disappoint anyone with more news of postponements and cancellations. After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we’re unfortunately realizing that it’s past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you.”

Willaims said she was at risk for “long-term damage” and added that she was committed to nurturing her body now. “We are so sorry to all of you who were so patient with us as we rescheduled these and likely rearranged travel plans to still come out,” she wrote. “I physically can not go on. I know this isn’t great news for anyone. Thank you so much for your continued support.”

Refunds for the canceled dates will be made available at point of purchase.

After their performance in Seattle, Williams took to her personal Instagram stories before making a statement on Paramore’s official accounts. She more candidly addressed the situation and said that her “lungs are just not healing quickly enough to keep up,” and added that “It got a little scary tonight.”

Paramore has been on the road for over 30 shows as part of the “This Is Why” tour, which is scheduled to continue with a string of international dates later this fall.

Paramore cancels tour dates amid frontwoman’s struggle with lung infection

Paramore has canceled tour dates in Portland and Salt Lake City, the last two shows in its North America tour, as lead vocalist Hayley Williams battles a lung infection.

“After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we’re unfortunately realizing that it’s past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you,” Williams wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “I’m now risking long term damage and I need to pay attention to my body.”

The rock band has been touring across the U.S. and Canada throughout 2023. It will continue on with shows in Europe and New Zealand.

Last week, to fans' surprise and thrill, NBA star Stephen Curry joined Paramore as a surprise guest at the band's Aug. 8 concert at San Francisco's Chase Center. He sang a few lines from "Misery Business," one of Paramore's hits from its second album, "Riot!"

Paramore was slated to perform at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland on Aug. 10 and the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Aug. 13. The shows had also been previously postponed and rescheduled from their original dates in late July due to Williams' ongoing lung infection.

Refunds will be available for fans who have already purchased tickets for the canceled shows.

Though some fans expressed frustration about the tour cancellations, Williams received an outpouring of support in the comments of Paramore's post.

"Good. Rest. Get better. Your health is way more important!" alternative music artist Iniko commented.

"Your health is all we care about right now," actress Maggie Baird wrote.

"We are so sorry to all of you who were so patient with us as we rescheduled these and likely rearranged travel plans to still come out," Williams wrote in the post. "Thank you so much for your continued support."

Paramore has canceled the remainder of its North America tour after frontwoman Hayley Williams struggled with a lung infection during the last week of shows.

The “Misery Business” and “Still Into You” hitmakers had already postponed four concerts in July due to Williams’ lingering illness and apparently resumed their This Is Why Tour before she fully healed. Now, their shows in Oregon and Utah have been called off.

“We are so sorry to all of you who were so patient with us as we rescheduled these and likely rearranged travel plans to still come out. I physically can not go on,” Williams said in a Thursday statement on the band’s Instagram . “I know this isn’t great news for anyone. Thank you so much for your continued support.”

The band, now a trio led by singer Hayley Williams, is set to release its first album since 2017, following mental health and personnel struggles.

Sept. 28, 2022

The 34-year-old said she hoped a week off from performing and “a strict medicine routine” would allow her body to “heal enough to finish off this tour strong.” But now, she said, she’s beyond that point after revealing that she had been muscling through mid-July performances from Houston to L.A.

“I have been doing everything I can to fight this infection so we wouldn’t have to disappoint anyone with more news of postponements and cancellations,” the pop-punk star said. “After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we’re unfortunately realizing that it’s past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you.

“I’m now risking long term damage and I need to pay attention to my body. With that in mind and with a heavy heart, we have to cancel our remaining shows in both Portland and Salt Lake City,” she said.

Refunds will be made available at the point of purchase.

The Grammy-winning singer embarked on the tour with co-songwriter and guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro in October to support the trio’s sixth studio album. Last week, the group was announced as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s juggernaut Eras Tour , with plans to join the “Anti-Hero” singer when she kicks off the 2024 European leg of the tour. (Paramore served as the supporting act when Swift launched Eras in March.)

Williams — who said she endured a week of “misery, sadness, and bellyfuls of antibiotics and steroids” during her illness — previously defended the band’s decision to postpone shows in San Francisco, Seattle and Oregon last month. Critics, whom she dubbed “internet bros,” lambasted her online and pointed out that older rock acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Dave Grohl pushed through their respective shows with severe ailments.

“internet bros have been pressed by my proximity to rock music and all its subgenres since 2005,” Williams countered last week on Instagram stories. “the only thing thats changed is the platform from which they spew their ignorance. don’t think for a second your fav bands – metal or punk or otherwise – endorse your weird incel ass lifestyle. so many of these bands have stood side stage at our shows and treat us with respect. why? bc they aren’t threatened by a strong woman front a great band in a completely diff genre of music.”

“crying from laughing at myself i love when i have so so so much time,” Williams added. Earlier, she had pointed out, “Touring is different at 34 than it was at 16, when leaving home felt like the greatest escape.”

Earlier this week, NBA superstar Steph Curry was the fan the band members selected to join them onstage at their rescheduled show at San Francisco’s Chase Center. The Golden State Warriors point guard took the mic and nailed the lyrics of their signature song, “Misery Business.”

On Wednesday, the band played its last show of the tour at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. The next Paramore show is scheduled for Oct. 6, when the band is set to play the New Yorker Festival. Performances are planned to resume in November in New Zealand and Australia, before the band heads to Europe with Swift between May and August 2024.

Paramore Cancels Remaining North American Tour Dates as Hayley Williams Battles Lung Infection

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

The North American leg of Paramore ‘s This Is Why tour has come to an end sooner than anticipated. Following a performance in Seattle on Wednesday, frontwoman Hayley Williams revealed that the final two shows of the tour, scheduled for Portland on Aug. 10 and Salt Lake City on Aug. 13, would be canceled as she recovers from a non-contagious lung infection.

“After speaking with our team and my doc, I know that trying to finish this tour is now going to come at a detriment to my health. My lungs are just not healing quickly enough to keep up. It got a little scary tonight,” Williams wrote in an Instagram Story.

pic.twitter.com/K4B8PpIXkl — paramore (@paramore) August 10, 2023

“We will have the team post an official statement ASAP but we are going to have to cancel the last 2 shows of the tour so I can get better, finally,” Williams continued in her statement. “I know some of you are camping in Portland already so I just wanted to get this out there. I’m so sorry for all the chaos this has caused some of you. I really tried to kick this shit. Love you all.”

Last week, Williams responded to criticism for postponing shows in order to prioritize her health. On Paramore’s Discord, she wrote: “Touring is different at 34 than it was at 16, when leaving home felt like the greatest escape. Even in my 20’s I benefitted from the constant movement. It was a perfect distraction from relational issues and my own mind. At this age, I have my own home life, a community, a dog, my sisters and the rest of my family who are getting older … It’s quite a lot to leave behind.”

Paramore played over 30 shows in North America this year. The This Is Why tour is scheduled to resume with six performances in Australia and New Zealand beginning in November.

Paramore Cancels Several Shows Amid Undisclosed Illness

Paramore has postponed four shows on their North American tour, due to an illness. The band first postponed their show in San Francisco on Saturday (July 22), which has been moved to Aug. 7 and was forced to reschedule three more shows in July.

The band’s Seattle show, originally scheduled for July 24, has been moved to Aug. 9, Portland was postponed from July 25 to Aug. 10, and Salt Lake City, Utah has been moved from July 27 to Aug. 13. Currently, the band’s July 29 show in Tulsa, Oklahoma and following in St. Louis on July 30 are still listed on their site, along with the remaining and rescheduled dates in August.

“As announced yesterday, our show in San Francisco was postponed due to illness within the touring party,” read a statement by the band on their social media, following the postponed show in San Francisco. “After much deliberation, in the interest of our health and ability to put on a show you all deserve, we have decided to reschedule our shows this week in Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City.”

In another statement, following Paramore’s last-minute postponement in San Francsico, the band apologized to ticket holders. “We tried everything in our ability to put on the show last night,” said the band . “We know that some of you waited in line for hours, traveled far distances, and moved around plans to be there. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

The band added, “To everyone affected by these postponements, please know that we do not take postponing a show lightly. The last thing we want to do is postpone a show that we’ve all been looking forward to for months. We love you, we are sorry, and we hope to see you soon.”

After the band’s remaining July and August dates, Paramore is scheduled to kick off an international tour in New Zealand on Nov. 18. The tour will run through dates in Australia and Europe and continue on into next before concluding with three shows at Wembley Stadium in August of 2024.

This is the third time I've seen this wonderful band but the first time I've actually paid to see them exclusively. The other two were at festivals.

What you see with Hayley Williams and her merry crew is what you get. A powerful, energetic, sometimes outrageous performance. The music they wrote in their first three albums contributes heavily to this. They made lively punk-pop music and their shows reflect that.

But something changed this time around. Paramore's most recent piece of work, After Laughter, completely changes direction from what they're historically used to providing. While it's a solid album in its own right, it doesn't blend well with the old stuff.

So the group has made a similar switch in their live shows. Two songs from RIOT!, one from Brand New Eyes, nothing from All We Know Is Falling in the setlist. After Laughter was played almost in its entirety, turning this more into a pop concert than a punk one.

Don't get me wrong, Hayley and crew still provide a great night of entertainment and their audiences are equally as explosive. It's just now expectations need to be managed accordingly. For some, this is the end of the line. For me? I'm not sure. But if you come looking for one of the best rock acts on the planet, you may leave feeling a little disappointed.

Absolutely amazing. I was standing and I was very close to the front. The whole stage presence of the band was incredible and Hayley Williams especially connected so well with the audience. I was looking foward to this show since September, and God was it worth the wait. I’ve seen a lot of bands in my life, but they are right up there with the likes of Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses. If all the concerts I’ve been to, this just might be my favourite yet.

And when Hayley chose someone from the crowd to come up on stage and sing Misery Buisness I was jumping as high as I could shouting “ Pick me, pick me!”. Although I was not picked, it didn’t matter, it was still in my eyes, the best band I’ve seen yet. Unfortunately I’m only 15 but if I could drive, I would’ve booked tickets for another show that same night.

Being able to jump and sing to songs like Still into You, Misery Buisness, Ignorance and That’s what you Get was an experience I could not have imagined to be any better. Thank you for an amazing show Paramore. I’ll see you next time

Thanks for the Memories BECAUSE THEY WERE SO GREAT | Monumentour 2014:

On August the 2nd, 2014, with a full bladder and a happy heart I arrived at the Austin360 amphitheater to live out a dream – See Fall Out Boy perform live.

After a brief visit to a way-too-hot Port O Potty and a little loss of dignity, that dream was well on its way to becoming true.

I’m sad to say that I missed the opening band (New Politics). I’m going to go ahead and put the blame for that one on my mom. She’s perpetually late to everything. And yes, that’s right ladies and gents, I do indeed go to concerts with my mom. She can hang 10x better than most people I know and we have virtually the same taste in music. Anyways, after finding our seats (because this was a seated venue which, *annoyed sigh*, we’ll get into another time) it was time for the second band to take the stage. And let me tell you, they made themselves known by firing confetti guns that nearly gave me a heart attack. FOUR TIMES. FOUR MINI HEART ATTACKS. I suppose I should probably tell you that the confetti firing band was Paramore. Maybe you’ve heard of them? Oh, who am I kidding? Everyone knows Paramore, and for good reason.

They’re music is totally energetic and now I can vouch that their performances are too. From the synchronized head banging during Misery Business to the cheesy “we’re all a family” speech, there wasn’t one boring moment during their set. They played both older and newer songs, keeping up the energy and excitement the whole time. Hayley and the boys are so cute when they interact. I have this fantasy that they eat pizza rolls and watch The Simpsons together when they’re not touring. Also, my crush on bassist, Jeremy Davis, only increased when I saw his dance moves. AND THE TATTOOS. MY GOODNESS.

Next up was a music video interlude which I am totally all for. Then, we all went home. JUST KIDDING. After the music videos, the stage lights were dimmed, a creepy voice started talking about fears, and from the center of the platform, four glorious human beings arose. Fall Out Boy started their performance by playing The Phoenix and from there played incredible song after incredible song (because that’s the only kind of song they write). They even did a Queen cover at one point and that is always okay in my book.

I have a lot of feelings about this band. I’ve been a fan since the days of guyliner (ehem, Pete) and novels-for-song titles. On one hand, they make me feel totally hardcore because of their bangin music but on the other hand, I feel like a gigantic puddle of fangirl because they’re all really adorable. I mean, at a certain angle, Joe looks like Patrick Dempsey circa Can’t Buy Me Love, and then you’ve got the precious teddy bear on drums. Andy wore a stoic, almost grumpy, face of concentration for most of the show only to smile and melt my heart at the end.

Next you have the ball of cheese that is Pete. He did most of the talking throughout the performance and the lil’ cutie spewed cliché after cliché about following your dreams and “choosing your own fucking happiness” and it was glorious.

Do I even need to explain Patrick’s preciousness? I swear, he and Johnny Depp are the only two people in the world who can work a fedora. I just want to hug him and cuddle him and kiss him gently on the forehead AND THEN HE HAD TO GO AND DO A THING LIKE BREAK OUT HIS DRUM SKILLS. Hot damn. He and Andy did an incredible drum sesh/ mash up thing with Jay Z’s 99 Problems. Super cool.

Overall, Fall Out Boy performed so well. I’m just sad I haven’t seen them perform live sooner. They seem like amazing people and they deserve every single fan that filled up the crowd.

Paramore's Hayley Williams Is 'So Ready' for Eras Tour Amid Taylor Swift's 'Impressive' 'TTPD' Album Release

Hayley Williams is ready to hit the road with longtime pal, Taylor Swift ! The Paramore  frontwoman gushed over Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department , while offering a tease of the band's upcoming Eras Tour run.

The 35-year-old musician took to her Instagram Story on Monday, after enjoying an electric Record Store Day over the weekend, to share a handful of her current favorite albums. Unsurprisingly, Swift's TTPD made the list.

"Had me from the storytelling alone, my friend," Williams wrote. "Every one of us knows this kind of grief! It's so impressive to me how specific and colorful Taylor's words get without ever losing the universal thread. I'm so ready to be tour-mates."

Also receiving honorable mentions from Williams were Beyoncé 's  Cowboy Carter , Brittany Howard's What Now , Rufus Wainwright's Want One , Bee Gees' Main Course , Tierra Whack's World Wide Whack , Radiohead's The Bends , The Smile's Wall of Eyes , Blonde Redhead's Sit Down for Dinner  and Idles' Tangk .

Paramore is set to open for Swift on her Eras Tour when it resumes on May 9 in Paris, France. The band will continue to tour with her through her remaining international tour dates, which includes a whopping eight shows at London's Wembley Stadium .

The dates come less than a year after Paramore's headlining This Is Why tour was derailed due to a lung infection for Williams. At the time, Williams shared with fans that she would be using her downtime to "dive head first into creating some better routines" and getting back into "the creative process."

"For me, when we get into this mode it always feels nice to disappear in a way," she admitted in a post on Discord . "Maybe this time I will be able to find balance between the disappearing and yet not completely shutting out the world. But probably not."

It was last summer that Swift, 34, announced that Williams' band would be joining her on the Eras Tour around the same time she dropped  Speak Now (Taylor's Version) . On the rerecorded full-length, Williams is featured on the from-the-vault track, "Castles Crumbling."

"Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour," Swift shared in July 2023. "And I get to travel the world doing shows with Paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???"

In  a recent interview  with  Jimmy Fallon on  The Tonight Show , Williams spilled details on how she and Swift first became friends back in 2008.

"Me and Taylor met because both of us -- Paramore and Taylor -- were nominated for Best New Artist the same year at the GRAMMYS," she said.

Though the late Amy Winehouse took the trophy that night, Williams and Swift ended up at the same after-party.

"We were at some GRAMMY party -- it was actually Timbaland's GRAMMY party. [It was] huge. I was very nervous," Williams recalled. "But a woman came up to me and she said, 'I'm Taylor Swift's mom and, you know, Taylor doesn't have a lot of friends her age that do music. And I would love to, like, you know, introduce you guys or get your number or whatever.'"

"So Andrea, the legend that she is, she connected us," Williams added, referencing Taylor's mom, Andrea Swift.

Swift's 11th studio album,  The Tortured Poets D epartment , and its lead single, " Fortnight " featuring  Post Malone , were released on Friday to much fanfare.

In terms of traditional album sales,  Billboard  reports that Swift's  TTPD  sold 1.4 million copies --  including CD, vinyl, cassette and digital download versions -- in its first day alone. This surpasses her own biggest sales week, when  1989 (Taylor's Version)  sold 1.359 million copies. All signs indicate that  TTPD  will be making a massive, record-shattering debut when tracking for its first week concludes on Thursday, April 25.

The 31-track collection --  which turned out to be a surprise double album  -- features a hefty helping of  heartbreak songs  following her splits from  Joe Alwyn  and  Matty Healy , as well as a few  sweet love songs  amid her current relationship with  Travis Kelce .

"She has put her heart and soul into the music, just like with everything she does," a source told ET about the album, "and can't wait for her fans to listen to it and to share it with them."

Music lovers still put those records on as they celebrate Record Store Day: What to know

If you love vinyl, saturday, april 20 is your day, record store day. apparently, many americans do. u.s. music lovers spent $1.4 billion on vinyl in 2023, 10% more than the year before..

paramore tour 2023 cancelled

Vinyl rules on Saturday. That's because it is Record Store Day .

This marks the 17th annual celebration of independent record stores with a slew of special, exclusive releases – available first in stores and for purchase in person. (Eventually, some of the precious vinyl LPs will be available online; and some may later be released on CD or digitally.)

More than 380 special releases will be available on Saturday, including new releases and reissues from a variety of artists spanning Ernest Tubb to 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne . There's also releases from Elton John, Gorillaz, Kristin Hersh, Parliament, Pearl Jam, Sabrina Carpenter and The Who. To see the complete list go to the Record Store Day website .

Why are vinyl records a big deal on Record Store Day 2024?

There's a reason vinyl lovers are rewarded in the age of streaming music. Sales of vinyl records rose 10% in 2023 to $1.4 billion – the format's 17th consecutive year of growth, according to the Recording Industry Association of America .

And for only the second time since 1987, vinyl outsold CDs in units (43 million vinyl, compared to 37 million in CDs), the RIAA says. Sales of CDs did increase 11% to $537 million. Streaming still accounted 84% of U.S. recorded music revenue, the RIAA says.

Record Store Day 2024: What you need to celebrate superbly

No surprise, the top selling vinyl artist in the U.S. in 2023 was Taylor Swift, who had the top three sellers – "1989 (Taylor's Version)" was No. 1 – and five of the top seven, according to Luminate Data .

Swifties, there's no Record Store Day specials for you like last year, when Swift dropped "folklore: the long pond studio sessions."  But you did just get a extra helping of tunes with her "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology," which landed early Friday.

However, some lucky buyers of her new album could also get a special printed note "From the Desk of Taylor Swift," in which the artist says: "Happy Record Store Day!! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for welcoming The Tortured Poets Department into your vinyl collection and your life."

Here's a quick look at some of the most desired Record Store Day releases.

David Bowie: Record Store Day 2024 release predates 'Ziggy'

A special vinyl RSD release, "Waiting in the Sky (Before the Starman Came to Earth)," is an 11-track recreation of an early version of what would eventually become Bowie's 1972 release "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars." Songs included here not on that album are the Chuck Berry cover "Round and Round," Jacque Brel's "Amsterdam," and non-LP favorites "Velvet Goldmine" and "Holy Holy."

Dave Grohl joins Anthrax on special RSD release to help Bad Brains singer

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante were joined by Dave Grohl in the Foo Fighters frontman's studios a cover of the Bad Brain's "The Regulator." Grohl plays drums and sings, while Benante plays bass on the track, proceeds of which will go to help Bad Brains' singer H.R., who has undergone treatment for painful headaches. The flip side of the 7-inch single is etched.

Record Store Day ambassadors Paramore have a special single out

A special 12-inch single has the band's tribute to Talking Heads on one side – a cover of the song "Burning Down the House" – and David Byrne's version of Paramore's “Hard Times” on the other (available starting Saturday, only at participating record stores).

Also available: "Re: This Is Why," remixes of the album that earned the band Grammys in February 2024 for best rock album and best alternative music performance. The remix LP, made with the help of Wet Leg, Bartees Strange, Foals, the Linda Lindas and others, is available as a standalone LP or in a 2-LP set including the original album.

Talking Heads: A full live performance

Speaking of David Byrne , Talking Heads fans can seek out "Live at WCOZ 77," which captures the band's entire radio station performance from Nov. 17, 1977. (Some of the songs appeared on "The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads."

Also available: The Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love 2001 Remixes,' a blue vinyl LP collecting nine remixes of the much-sampled 1981 song from Talking Heads co-founders Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth.

Olivia Rodrigo and Noah Kahan cover RSD 2024 with dual single

Olivia Rodrigo covers the title track from Noah Kahan 's 2022 album "Stick Season," on one side of a special colored vinyl 7-inch single. On the other, Kahan provides a version of Rodrigo's "Lacy" from her 2023 album "Guts."

Sister Rosetta Tharpe: Live in France: The 1966 Concert in Limoges

This gem is a previously unreleased recording of a live solo performance by “The Godmother of Rock n’ Roll," at the Grand Theatre in Limoges, France on November 11, 1966. It comes on two 180-gram vinyl LPs and has an insert with rare photographs, liner notes and tributes from ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Susan Tedeschi and others.

This fab Beatles mini record player is a Record Store Day 2024 special

Beatlemania continues – mark May 8 on your calendar to stream the movie "Let It Be" on Disney+ . In the meantime, you can come together with this Beatles limited edition mini turntable ($179.99) from Crosley Radio , commemorating the Fab Four's performance in 1964 on The Ed Sullivan Show.

The turntable comes with four 3-inch records of songs the band performed then: "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "Til There Was You," "She Loves You," and "I Saw Her Standing There." (Note: the records are also available individually.)

The Turntable has a built-in speaker, but also connects to external speakers via Bluetooth.

Also available: Ringo Starr 's new four-track EP titled "Crooked Boy," in a special black and white colored vinyl edition, and two George Harrison albums, "Wonderwall Music" and "Electronic Sound," available as picture discs. — w

The Rolling Stones have something old, something new for RSD 2024

The Stones are dropping "Live At Racket, NYC," a 180-gram solid white vinyl release of the seven songs the band played at the October 19, 2023 launch event for "Hackney Diamonds." The tracks include the duet with Lady Gaga on “Sweet Sounds of Heaven."

Also available: a special black and white swirled vinyl version of the band's 1964 U.K. debut album, which comes stamped (6,000 are available) with a lithograph with classic photos of the band.

The Weeknd: 'Live at SoFi Stadium'

The Canadian artist's first live album, recorded during two November 2022 concerts in LA and released digitally last year, becomes available on a physical format (3 LPs).

Wilco: 'The Whole Love' expanded for RSD

An 3-LP version of the band's 2011 album fleshed out with live in-studio performances, bonus tracks, alternate mixes, demos and a version of the song "Cruel To Be Kind" with Nick Lowe.

Dwight Yoakam's 'Beginning' boxed up for RSD 2024

The country artist has a collection called "The Beginning And Then Some," compiling his first three albums – available on vinyl and CD – with an extra disc of '80s rarities.

The singer-songwriter's latest, "Fu##in' Up" is a reimaging of some past Young classics with a Crazy Horse lineup that includes Micah Nelson. The Record Store Day limited edition comes on two clear vinyl LPs with a lithograph of the album cover art.

It will be available in stores and through the Neil Young Archives store (though it appears to be sold out already). Regular versions of the album come out April 26.

Trump cancels North Carolina rally due to severe weather

By Olivia Rinaldi

April 20, 2024 / 8:23 PM EDT / CBS News

Former President Donald Trump's return to the campaign trail following the start of his "hush money" trial in Manhattan was abruptly canceled Saturday evening after severe weather threatened Wilmington, North Carolina.

Trump was en route from a fundraiser in Charlotte when he called into the rally — which was being held outdoors at the Wilmington airport — to tell supporters to seek shelter immediately.

"We're flying in in a few minutes, but they really would prefer that we not come in because there's a certain danger to all of this," said Trump on a phone call that was piped into the rally speakers. "And we want to make sure that everybody is safe above all, and so they've asked us to ask people to leave the site and seek shelter."

Donald Trump Holds Rally In North Carolina

Trump said the campaign would reschedule the rally quickly and promised it would be "bigger and better."

The rally was slated to be his first major campaign event since Trump was ordered to be in a New York City courtroom for the duration of his trial . Jury selection was completed Friday, and opening arguments in the trial are set to begin Monday.

Trump previously lamented that the trial has prevented him from appearing on the campaign trail during the week.

Will Taylor Swift Add ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ To The Eras Tour? Here’s What We Know.

Fans think Taylor Swift is dropping hints that she might be expanding her already 10-album-spanning “Eras Tour” setlist to include her latest release, “The Tortured Poets Department,” ahead of the tour’s upcoming European leg in May.

Swift teased fans in a YouTube Short video Thursday night that it’s only a “fortnight until Paris”—a nod to both her return to the Eras Tour in Paris on May 9, and “Fortnight,” the lead single from “The Tortured Poets Department” featuring Post Malone.

In typical Swiftie fashion , fans quickly began decoding the video for possible clues about Swift’s upcoming shows, and some have pointed to what looks like a “TTPD” logo attached to a railing Swift leans on while singing, taking this as a hint that her new album could have its own “era” on tour.

Other Swifties noted the billionaire pop star can be seen wearing shoes strikingly similar to those she wears in the “Fortnight” music video, while some pointed out the hats and canes her backup dancers are using have not yet been seen at Eras Tour shows, a possible hint at new songs and choreography.

Swift fan accounts shared screenshots of an Instagram post from musical director David Cook who appeared to tease live performances of “The Tortured Poets Department” songs, though it has since been removed from his caption .

Swift’s collaborator on new song “Florida!!!,” Florence Welch, hinted at possibly joining Swift for an Eras Tour performance to British Vogue , stating: “If I was gonna do it, it would be a surprise.”

What We Don’t Know

What alterations Swift might make to the Eras Tour setlist to fit in “The Tortured Poets Department.” The tour has been noted for its length: Swift performs 45 songs over the course of more than three hours, leading fans to speculate whether she may need to make cuts to fit in her latest release. The Eras Tour has been billed as a celebration of Swift’s entire musical catalogue and each album, or “era,” has its own dedicated part of the setlist, with each ranging from one to seven songs. “Midnights,” her latest album release prior to “The Tortured Poets Department,” has closed out the setlist since the start of the tour and has had the longest setlist of any era.

Surprising Fact

The Eras Tour is already the highest-grossing tour of all time, but it’s only a little more than halfway over. Swift has performed 83 shows to date, but she still has 69 left, most of which are in Europe. She’ll be joined by Paramore as her European leg opening act, while Gracie Abrams will join her for her final North American leg . Swift will return to the United States, but only for three cities: She’ll perform in Miami for three shows in October, followed by an additional three shows each in New Orleans and Indianapolis. She will wrap up the North American leg, and the tour as a whole, with six shows in Toronto in November and three shows in Vancouver in December.

$1.04 billion. That’s how much the Eras Tour grossed across 60 shows between March 17 and Nov. 11, 2023, according to Pollstar estimates , making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.

“The Tortured Poets Department” dropped April 19 to record-shattering sales and streaming numbers. The 16-track album, and its 15-track counterpart subtitled “The Anthology” surprise-released last Friday, has already been streamed more than 1 billion times on Spotify as of Wednesday. That makes it the most-streamed album in one week in the streaming platform’s history. It previously earned the biggest single-day Spotify streams for an album with more than 300 million streams, shattering her own record with “ Midnights ” by more than 100 million. The album has sold more than 700,000 vinyl copies as of Tuesday, shattering her own record for the biggest vinyl sales week. Swift is on track to nab her biggest debut for an album on the Billboard charts yet: Billboard reported the album earned a massive 2.5 million album equivalent units in its first six days, consisting of 1.85 million in sales and the rest via streaming.

Troubleshooters helps South Jersey woman get ticket refund for canceled Jerry Blavat show

WPVI logo

DELRAN, New Jersey (WPVI) -- A South Jersey woman called on the Troubleshooters for help after a Christmas gift she bought for relatives turned into a real headache. We actually fixed two cases of ticket trouble for this viewer.

The first issue involved tickets to see a Philadelphia icon who, sadly, passed away before the show. You might think a situation like that would prompt an instant refund but think again.

"I got the tickets for my aunt and uncle for a Christmas present because they love Jerry Blavat," said Beth Borsuk.

Borsuk bought them tickets for the Jerry Blavat show at The Kimmel Center scheduled for January 28th, 2023.

On January 12, 2023, Blavat posted on Facebook that the show would have to be postponed. Then, eight days before the event, Blavat died. That same day, Borsuk got an email that the concert was "postponed."

"They just kept saying that they were going to reschedule the show, which I thought was crazy because obviously he's not going to be there," she recalled.

Borsuk thought she had bought the tickets directly from The Kimmel Center and Ensemble Arts Philly for $368.95.

"I kept asking for a refund and just kept getting a brick wall," she said.

The back and forth went on for over a year until this past March when Borsuk contacted the Troubleshooters.

"They have my money and I have nothing," she said.

It turns out, Borsuk actually bought the tickets through Tickets-Center.com - which is not affiliated with Ensemble Arts Philly.

"I naively didn't realize that they were bought through a third party. I will definitely check that out from now on," she said.

The good news is the Troubleshooters were able to get Borsuk a full refund.

"I'm thrilled. It's a lot of money to us and you know I'm just happy that it was finally settled," she said.

But the Troubleshooters weren't done.

It turns out Borsuk had tickets for another show that also kept getting cancelled.

"Again the same thing with trying to get a refund for the tickets," she said.

After the Troubleshooters got involved, an off-shoot of that organization offered Borsuk tickets to one of their next performances.

"He said we could have four free tickets and he just wanted to make us happy and I appreciated that very much," she said,.

This is a good reminder to make sure you know whom you're buying from when it comes to show and concert tickets.
