Clear Bag Policy

Fans are strongly encouraged to not bring any types of bags to the North Charleston Coliseum & PAC, however, outlined below are types of bags that will be permitted:

- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 14” x 6” x 14” - One-gallon plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) - Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, not to exceed 4.5” x 6.5” - An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated entrances specifically for this purpose. - Diaper bags will be allowed for families with infants and toddlers. Child must be present.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Fans will continue to be able to carry items allowed into the venues such as non-professional cameras, binoculars, and smartphones as long as they are in their pockets or one of the approved bags outlined above.

Face Coverings

Face coverings are encouraged, but not required, for entry into all city-owned facilities including the North Charleston Coliseum, Performing Arts Center, and Charleston Area Convention Center.

Food and Beverage

The North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center are now cashless facilities for food and beverage services.

Flawless Zivieri Wins PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Stop in Charleston, West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.V. – As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event in Charleston, West Virginia, wound to a close Saturday night in front of a raucous crowd inside the Charleston Civic Center, Flavio Zivieri (Balsamo, Brazil) rode supreme, delivering a flawless 3-for-3 performance to win the ZipRecruiter Capital City Classic.

Zivieri got off to a quick start in Round 1 of the event when he went the distance atop Sundance (Damn Skippy Ranch/S&S Bucking Bulls) for 79.5 points.

Positioned eighth on the event leaderboard, Zivieri climbed the standings in the second round of competition when he covered Next Question (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) for 85 points.

The surging Brazilian then clinched the event win in the championship round when he conquered Yukon Jack (Triple C Bucking Bulls) for a round-winning 85.5 points.

The perfect performance earned Zivieri a crucial 135.5 Velocity Global points as he seeks his career-first Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Championship this May.

Second was Josh Stepp (Hendersonville, North Carolina), garnering 93 Velocity Global points.

Stepp first put points on the board in the opening round when be topped One Boot Patches (Obernagel/Sho-Me Rodeo) for 83 points.

The North Carolinian then lit up the scoreboard in Round 2 when he delivered the high-marked ride of the tour stop, scored 86 points atop High Hustler (Twisted Horns Cattle Co./Hearn).

Stepp’s hopes of victory, however, were dashed in the championship round when he was brought down by Oreo (Twisted Horns Cattle Co.) in a quick 1.29 seconds.

Carlos Garcia (Abingdon, Virginia) was third compliments of his 85.5-point ride on Red River (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) in Round 2.

He left the Charleston Civic Center having earned 54 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fourth was Claudio Montanha Jr. (Pacaembu, Brazil) and Brandon Ballard (New Hope, Kentucky), each posting 85-point rides during the PBR ZipRecruiter Capital City Classic.

Montanha won Round 1 via the score earned on Jeff (Julian Cattle), garnering 47 Velocity Global points.

For Ballard, he delivered the mark in Round 2 when he covered Contusion (White/Knapp Ranch).

The PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour next travels to Greenville, South Carolina, and Reno, Nevada, on Jan. 20-21.

The PBR Greenville Invitational at Bon Secours Wellness Arena gets underway on Friday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. EST and concludes on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. EST.

The PBR Reno Rumble at the Reno Events Center begins on Friday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. PST and will come to a climactic conclusion on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. PST.

For the sixth time in the sport's history, PBR's (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into North Charleston, returning to North Charleston Coliseum on February 2nd and 3rd, 2024 with PBR North Charleston.

For two nights only, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport's rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting live sporting events to witness.

PBR's return to North Charleston comes on the spurs of one of the organization's most dynamic individual seasons in 2023, as the Velocity Tour broke and reset numerous attendance and competition records en-route to its most successful season to date.

The upcoming PBR North Charleston will mark the tenth event of the new individual season for the PBR's expansion series. Eventgoers will watch on as riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.

When PBR's Velocity Tour was last in North Charleston in February 2023, Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) rode red-hot, delivering a 2-for-3 performance to win the tour stop inside North Charleston Coliseum.

Cole surged to an early event lead in Round 1, delivering the top score when he conquered Neon Street (Dustin Denning Bucking Bulls/Burnt Chimney Bucking Bulls) for 88.5 points.

With 15 riders converting in the opening round, the pressure was on in Round 2 with just 12 earning a berth to the championship round. Cole logged his second score in as many attempts and remained atop the leaderboard via his 85-point effort aboard Next Question (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls).

While Cole failed to convert in the championship round, upended by Keep ‘em Guessin (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) in a quick 3.29 seconds, his opening-round scores were enough for the event win.

As the 2023 PBR Velocity Tour season continued, Cole remained a top contender for the tour's Championship until the final outs of the season, before finishing the year No. 9 in the standings. When the dust settled, however, it was Josh Frost (Randlett, Utah) who was crowned the 2023 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion, earning the accompanying $50,000 bonus.

Other past PBR North Charleston event winners include: Michael Lane (2022), Jesse Petri (2021), Alex Cerqueira (2020) and Tye Chandler (2018).

The bull riding action for PBR North Charleston begins with Round 1 at 8:00 PM on Friday, February 2, followed by Round 2 and the championship round at 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 3. All 40 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1. The Top 36 riders from Round 1 will advance to Round 2 Saturday evening. The riders' individual two-round scores will be totaled with the Top 10 advancing to the championship round for one more out and a chance at the event title.

WHEELING, W. VA. (December 21, 2021) – For the eighth time in league history, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into Wheeling, West Virginia, returning to WesBanco Arena on March 18-19, 2022 with the PBR Wheeling Invitational, brought to you locally by Oglebay.

For two nights only, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting live sporting events to witness.

PBR’s Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour last travelled to Wheeling in 2021 when Austin Beaty (Bedford, Virginia) captured his career-first victory on the league’s expansion series.

As action got underway in the Mountain State, Beaty was one of six riders to register a qualified ride, covering Zacchaeus (Jenkins Cattle Co.) for 85 points.

On Championship Saturday, Beaty surged to the top of the event leaderboard after tying for the Round 2 victory compliments of his 87-point effort aboard How Bout It (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls).

While the Virginia native was unable to conclude the event making the 8-second whistle, dispatched by Cutthroat (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) in 2.34 seconds in the championship round, Beaty’s initial scores were enough to clinch the golden finish.

Other past PBR Wheeling Invitational event winners include: Derek Kolbaba (2019 – Walla Walla, Washington), Eli Miller (2018 – Statesville, North Carolina), Carlos Garcia (2017 – Abingdon, Virginia), two-time PBR World Champion Jess Lockwood (2016 – Volborg, Montana), three-time PBR World Finals event winner Robson Palermo (2015 – Rio Branco, Brazil) and Brenton Chaffin (2014 – Riner, Virginia).

The PBR’s return to Wheeling will come on the spurs of one of the fiercest races for the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour in league history.

While Michael Lane (Tazewell, Virginia) held the No. 1 position in the standings for the majority of the season, he was surpassed during the last out of the year as Adriano Salgado (Batatais, Brazil) used a runner-up finish at the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Finals to surge to the top ranking in the standings. The Brazilian newcomer Salgado finished a slim 26.5 points ahead of No. 2 Lane, who was unable to compete at the year-end event due to injury.

The Wheeling tour stop will tentatively mark the 20th Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event of the year, with PBR’s fastest-growing tour first stopping in cities including Portland, Oregon; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Jacksonville, Florida; and North Charleston, South Carolina.

The bull riding action for the 2022 PBR Wheeling Invitational, brought to you locally by Oglebay, begins at 8:00 p.m. EST on Friday, March 18, and at 7:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 19 at WesBanco Arena.

Forty-five bull riders will get on one bull in Round 1. Round 2 on Saturday evening will feature the Top 30 riders from Round 1, the riders’ individual two-round scores will then be totaled with the Top 15 advancing to the championship round for one more out and a chance at the event title.
