Amazing Tour!! Thank you to Akal for providing me with such an amazing and powerful, life-changing tour. Akal was very knowledgeable, genuine and compassionate. The important piece to know about these tours is that they are not only private, but tailored to the needs that are most pressing in your life at that time. Akal took the time to listen and from there decided which vortexes I would most benefit from. The tour was well-paced and we even had time for an extra stop before completing the tour. Thank you Akal and Sedona Red Rock Tours. –C.A.
Our family did the vortex tour. What a wonderful, life changing experience we had with Patricia. AMAZING time.  Wonderful evening. This was an experience that our family did together and will always keep as one of our very best memories ever. The scenery is unbelievable and the memories we created on Bell Rock is something like nothing we had ever experienced before. We were lucky enough to be there when a thunderstorm was in the distance and the breeze, the sky, the mountains–just breathtaking. Our lives have been changed by this experience. Thank you so much for a great evening. –A Traveling Sloth from Novi, MI

The helpful tour guides make every rider feel safe and the scenery is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Keep in mind that all riders must be at least five years old and weigh more than 50 pounds and all drivers must be over 16. It’s a good idea to check their schedule to reconfirm.

4. The Vortex Experience Jeep Tour

If you’re as intrigued by Sedona’s famous vortex sites as we are, this fantastic tour by Arizona Safari Jeep Tours will give you an in-depth experience. During the two-and-a-half-hour tour, you’ll see amazing desert scenery and learn about the history of the vortexes and the cultural beliefs surrounding them.

5. Full Scenic Combo Tour

This convenient trolley tour package allows you to see many of Sedona’s most iconic sights such as the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, Chimney Rock, and canyons of the Coconino National Forest. The combo sightseeing tour includes both of the trolley tours offered by Sedona Trolley at a discounted rate and is narrated so you’ll learn a lot about the city and surrounding area along the way.

This is particularly great for people with limited mobility or for people who want to save some of their energy to hit some of the nearby hiking trails. Tours leave between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily and the entire journey lasts for roughly two hours. Alternatively, you can choose one of the 55-minute long routes or opt for the 90-minute Sedona Sunset Tour.

6. Scenic Sedona Tour

Run by Great West Tours , the two-and-a-half-hour Scenic Sedona Tour gives you an inside look into Sedona’s history and geography. During the tour, you’ll see some of the most beautiful sites in the Sedona area, and best of all, the tour can be tailored to your interests!

The tour guides are very informative and you’ll be blown away by the amazing views all around you. Keep in mind that this tour incorporates much of the city of Sedona so if you’re looking for something that purely focuses on nature, you may want to opt for another tour.

The tour includes pick-up and drop-off from Sedona hotels and if you want to go even further afield, they also offer full-day tours to the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon.

7. Diamondgulch Jeep Tour

This fascinating two-hour Jeep tour by A Day in the West takes you by some of Sedona’s gorgeous rock formations including Capitol Butte, Chimney Rock, Doe Mesa, and of course, into the depths of DiamondbackGulch as you bump your way along one of Arizona’s most rugged roads.

As your driver expertly maneuvers around the bumps and turns, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of Mother Nature. Although it can get a bit rough in arts, the tour is suitable for everyone over the age of three with an adventurous spirit.

Besides Diamondgulch, A Day in the West also offers tours of Mogollon Rim, and the Western Canyons as well as family-friendly tours that are a bit more sedate while still offering a fantastic off-road experience.

8. Sedona Hi-Points Trolley Tour

This two-hour trolley tour by the whimsically named Red Rock Magic Trolley will take you by some of Sedona’s most beloved sights including Bell Rock, Airport Mesa, the Chael of the Holy Cross, and much more on board an open-air trolley. This is an easy and convenient way to visit these attractions and perfect for anyone short on time who doesn’t want to miss out on the highlights in the area.

The fun and informative guides will teach you a lot about Sedonas culture, geography, and history and you can board the trolley in downtown Sedona or at many of the nearby resorts. It’s a good idea to reserve your tickets online beforehand as they do sell out during the busy summer months.

9. Original UFO and Stargazing Tour

While Sedona’s landscape certainly looks like it came from another planet, Sedona UFO Tours gives you the chance to see what lies beyond Earth. During their UFO and Stargazing Tour, you’ll use military-grade binoculars to stare up into the ink-black sky and see thousands of stars, planets, and maybe even a UFO hovering nearby! The tours last around two hours and by the end of it, you’ll have a whole new perspective on the world that we live in.

10. Sedona Vortex Tour

Sedona UFO Tours also offers a two-and-a-half-hour long Sedona Vortex Tour, a two-and-a-half-hour experience that visits many of Sedonas most spiritual and mystical sites. The informative guides will help you understand what vortexes are and how you can tell the difference between feminine and masculine vortexes, as well as give you tips on how you can use this energy to have a positive impact on your body.

If there’s enough time, the guide will also lead a meditation on how you can meet your spirit guides. During the tour, you’ll also see an ancient Native American medicine wheel, and receive a personalized Chakra reading.

11. Sedona Spiritual Retreat

If you want to make even more use of Sedona’s outstanding energy, you can also do a spiritual retreat. One Tribe Tours offers retreat packages starting at just two days which means that even if you’re short on time, you can still experience things like purification ceremonies, outdoor yoga classes surrounded by the red rock landscape, meditation, and guided vortex hikes. Although the retreats can be pretty pricey, this is a wonderful way to rebalance your mind, body, and soul.

If you don’t have the time or money to take part in a retreat, you can still join one of their vortex tours. On these private tours, you’ll have the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the energy of Sedona, allowing you to “shift your perspective, expand your consciousness, and experience a deeper connection to your true essence.”

12. Sedona Sessions by Sedona Red Rock Tours

If you love the idea of getting in touch with Sedona’s spiritual side but don’t want to invest in a full retreat, you can also book a one-off “session” with Sedona Red Rock Tours . The options include everything from shamanic sound healing sessions to hypnotherapy and couples’ counseling as well as a vortex tour where you can channel the energy of the red rocks for a personal transformation. The sessions are pretty expensive but cost peanuts compared to more traditional health and wellness treatments.

13. Jeep, Horseback Ride, and Lunch Combo Tour

If you’re having trouble picking a tour and want to combine a jeep tour with an adventure activity and a winery tour, look no further than this combination tour by A Day in the West . This tour offers the complete Western experience where you can go on a real cowboy horseback ride before settling down in their custom-built Jeeps to explore the surrounding landscape. After the Jeep tour, you’ll then head to a local winery for a delicious lunch.

The tour lasts roughly four hours, making it a great half-day activity and still leaving you plenty of time to schedule other tours or visit nearby attractions that same day. Don’t forget that all guests must be at least eight years old and there is a maximum weight of 250 pounds. It can be a little challenging to book this tour online so make sure to give them a call to see what their future schedule is.

Flight Options

While Sedona’s red rocks are amazing from the ground, they are even better from the air! Luckily, there are many different choices available if you want to see Sedona from above. It’s a good idea to shop around when you’re making a booking as the prices can vary drastically from one provider to the next.

14. Dust Devil Tour

This fascinating tour by Guidance Air gives you the chance to get a bird’s eye view of the 700-year-old cliff dwellings at Boynton Canyon which was once the home of the ancient Sinagua tribe as well as the Devil’s Bridge, Secret Canyon, and the Mogollon Rim. The standard tour lasts just 20 to 25 minutes but is worth splurging on the 30 and 50-minute tours if you’re looking for something extra special to do as they include a few more sights.

15. Hot Air Balloon Adventure

If you want to get a sky-high view of Sedona but want to go a bit slower than a helicopter tour, you may want to consider a hot air balloon flight. Offered by Red Rock Balloon Adventures , this tour offers 90-minutes of flight time that’s perfectly timed so that you can enjoy the sunrise as you float above the red rocks and local wildlife of Sedona. The staff knows how to make everyone feel comfortable, even riders who are a bit scared of heights.

If you’re traveling with kids, don’t forget that everyone must be at least four feet tall to ride. The tour price includes round-trip transportation from Sedona and it’s a wise idea to make reservations. The total experience lasts around three to four hours and leaves before sunrise daily.

16. Bear Wallow Run – Helicopter Tour of Sedona

I had an exceptional experience on the Scenic Sedona Tour that I wish to share! I was very impressed with the five-hour tour, an invaluable experience that I could not have otherwise received as an unescorted tourist in Sedona. The effects of the last years have rendered Sedona more challenging to explore. This tour not only offers a docent and a driver, museum level knowledgeable and inspired guides, it allows all members of the party to relax, learn and absorb its energy, without the rigors of limited parking and space. We were treated to the world class sites, including Chapel of the Holy Cross and vortex, Bell Rock, Courthouse Rock, Airport Rock, and Amitabha Stupa/vortex. I did the Perfect Sedona Tour which was an excellent length of time to see the beautiful sites of the amazing town of Sedona. Avery was a brilliant guide who was informative without being stuffy about the facts, he kep things on track and took me to one of the hidden gems of this town!

Great day, Great driver, Great experience. Viator review: Excellent experience to the Grand Canyon. Starting in Sedona we had a beautiful drive to Flagstaf then on to the Canyon. Al was a great driver with plenty of knowledge of the area. Very attentive and considerate of passengers. Was available yet felt like we were on our own. Great day at the Grand Canyon and Al set us up and let us go at our own pace and was waiting when we were finished. Much better than trying to go on our own, no worry of parking or driving and was able to enjoy the sights much more. Thanks for a great experience and would recommend to anyone wanting a more relaxing day.

Top-Rated Sedona Trolley Tours

Red Rock Magic Trolley

It was August and very hot so we were not into going hiking. We selected this tour and the van had A/C and took us to Chapel of the Cross, Bell Rock and the Airport Mesa lookout. The information given by our tourist guide was great. He was nice and pleasant, full of interesting comments and funny remarks. He even played the African tongue drum for us and we really enjoyed it!

My family of 4 did this tour in conjunction with a Jeep tour we found on Groupon. We did the 2:30 tour to Boynton Canyon. Vic, our guide, was chock full of information and funny! We were able to get out at one stop for pictures, and he was happy to take photos for everyone. I thought it was an excellent intro to Sedona, and I enjoyed the trolley ride. There was plenty of breeze flowing so we weren’t hot and sweaty during the ride. Definitely recommend!

The Red Rock Magic Trolley tour was very informative, introducing us to places we would not have easily found on our own. The tour guide was excellent. She suggested places to visit that were not on the tour and we explored on our own later in the day. We also returned to Boynton Canyon for photographs with different light. Great recommendations for shopping, hiking, and photography. I strongly recommend it for anyone new to the area.

We took this 85-minute trolley tour in mid-January. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride, the information, and our guide, Skip. Our driver offered us some cookies and some jokes as we rode along. We would recommend an early tour of the day. We took the 10:30 a.m. tour, and we learned quite a bit about the city. Then we had some hints about what to visit on our own in the afternoon. We recommend this trolley tour.
