Threat Signal will be heading out on a short headlining tour this summer where they will be joined by The Agonist, Thy Will Be Done and Flatline. During the tour, the band will be playing new songs which will appear on a new studio album later this year.

The tour dates are as follows:

About Threat Signal

A relatively melodic metalcore act with some death and thrash influences, Hamilton, Ontario's Threat Signal sit comfortably next to contemporaries like Fear Factory and Lamb of God. Threat Signal were formed in 2003 by singer Jon Howard and his cousin, lead guitarist Rich Howard, filled out with rhythm guitarist Kyle McKnight, bassist Marco Bressette, and drummer Adam Matthews. After achieving some early notoriety in the international online metal community, with four of their demo tracks achieving heavy airplay on various websites, Threat Signal released the Rational Eyes EP through the digital-oriented label Gomek Records in 2005. Although Threat Signal signed with the respected metal indie Nuclear Blast Records and recorded their first album with Fear Factory guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers later that same year, a period of personnel instability delayed its release for nearly a year. Drummer Adam Matthews was the first to leave, replaced by George Parfitt. Then founding guitarist Rich Howard split, with Bressette taking over lead guitar duties while Pat Kavanagh was drafted into the bass slot. Following the delayed release of debut album Under Reprisal and an extensive tour, Bressette left Threat Signal suddenly in March 2007, as did drummer Parfitt, the latter of whom cited family reasons. Undaunted, Threat Signal began demoing material for their second album while auditioning new members, eventually settling on a lineup consisting of Howard, Kavanagh, drummer Norm Killeen, and guitarists Travis Montgomery and Adam Weber. The resulting Vigilance was released in 2009. Weber and Killeen left the fold the following year, and were replaced by drummer Alex Rüdinger and guitarist Chris Feener, who made their first studio appearances on the group's eponymous, Zeuss-produced third full-length outing in 2012. More lineup changes heralded the arrival of 2017's Disconnect, which saw Rüdinger being replaced by Our Lady of Bloodshed drummer Joey Muha, and touring guitarist Matt Perrin taking over for Feener -- Muha left the group to join Jungle Rot before the recording, and was succeeded by Andrew Minarik. ~ Stewart Mason

‘Threat of potential violence’ leads to brief suspension of 2024 Music City Open, Disc Golf Pro Tour says

N ASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The 2024 Music City Open was temporarily suspended Saturday morning because of a potential threat against someone involved in the tournament, according to the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT).

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, the DGPT announced it suspended play at the Music City Open because the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) was investigating a threat made against the event.

“Tour and tournament staff are cooperating with local law enforcement authorities to assess the nature of the threat and determine the next steps,” organizers stated in their online event status update .

Later in the morning, officials reported they had assessed the situation with tour staff, tournament staff, and MNPD. As a result, the competition was cleared to resume at 11 a.m., with additional security measures

Several hours later, the DGPT shared additional details about the situation , saying competing and spectating had been temporarily suspended at the Music City Open due to a “threat of potential violence against a competitor at this weekend’s tournament.”

“The type of threat was unspecified and made no specific mention of harm to any other person but rose to the level at which tour staff began initiating safety protocols,” the organization explained. “Metro police were immediately contacted and responded to the scene to assess the situation. The player in question was also notified, as were their cardmates.”

Based on preliminary guidance from law enforcement, the DGPT briefly suspended the competition and removed everyone from the area in the interest of safety until play resumed at 11 a.m.

“Threats of violence at DGPT events are utterly unacceptable and are treated with the utmost seriousness by our entire staff,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO and tour director. “We have deployed additional security resources to enhance the safety measures in place for all individuals on-site. Those measures will be in place for the remainder of the weekend.”

“I want to thank local law enforcement and the local tournament staff for their prompt and professional response. Furthermore, I want to assure players, spectators, partners, and fans that we are continuing to practice vigilance,” Spring continued, adding that the DGPT will keep coordinating and cooperating with the MNPD amid the ongoing investigation into the incident.

THREAT SIGNAL Forced To Pull Out Of (HED) P.E. European Tour

Canadian metallers THREAT SIGNAL have issued the following update:

"We sincerely regret to inform you that our 2010 European tour dates with (HED) P.E. and ATILLA have been officially cancelled. The tour will still go on; however, we will not be performing on it.

"We had worked very hard to make this tour even considerably possible, but due to financial difficulties we've had to abandon ship. We're back thousands more dollars than we originally expected, and we've been struggling ever since to find affordable means of transportation. We cannot justify or even find the amount of money needed to make this tour possible for us anymore.

"Our hearts are broken [as] this would have been THREAT SIGNAL 's first European tour.

"On the upside, we've had an amazing North American run with EPICA and BLACKGUARD and are looking forward to confirmed dates in Canada.

"The more people that show their support locally will ultimately help us land these tours overseas. Even if you can't make it out to a show, you can show your THREAT SIGNAL support by purchasing some new merchandise at Kill The 8 online merch store, and music from iTunes and Amazon .

"Once again, we apologize a million times over and over to our friends and fans in Europe who expected us on the tour. We're currently working extremely hard with our agents and record label to find another tour in Europe before the year is over.

"We promise to make this up to those who were looking forward to seeing us live.

"Thank you so much for understanding our situation."

Released in September 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records , the CD was produced by vocalist Jon Howard and mixed by Greg Reely ( FEAR FACTORY , FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY ).

THREAT SIGNAL members Jon Howard and Pat Kavanagh (bass) are also involved with ARKAEA , the band featuring FEAR FACTORY members Raymond Herrera (drums) and Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar).
