Limp Bizkit Are Deepfake World Leaders in ‘Out of Style’ Music Video

The members of  Limp Bizkit are portrayed as deepfake world leaders in the Fred Durst -led band's new music video for "Out of Style," the opening song on their 2021 comeback album, STILL SUCKS .

A deepfake is a synthetic portrayal of a person where an existing image or video of them is replaced with someone else's likeness, as popular online videos of Tom Cruise and Elon Musk deepfakes have shown. The creations that involve artificial intelligence and machine learning have   been said by many to set a dangerous precedent for online privacy.

Watch the video down toward the bottom of this post.

The Limp Bizkit "Out of Style" clip includes deepfakes of world leaders such as Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelensky, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong-un, and, per a press release, "even invites an appearance from 'Mr. Maverick' himself in A.I. form."

The video, which shows the deepfake band playing in a garage, was directed by Durst with Marc Klasfeld. When it emerged Wednesday (Feb. 8), the Limp Bizkit vocalist and Klasfeld pointed to a Jimi Hendrix lyric to sum up the clip — "When the power of love overcomes the love of power/ The world will know peace."

Limp Bizkit also said they've hidden Easter eggs throughout that point to a deeper meaning.

Further, STILL SUCKS is now available on CD for the first time — order it here in both standard ("silver") and limited numbered ("gold") editions.

See Limp Bizkit's upcoming tour dates under the video.

Limp Bizkit's new video is a deepfake nightmare 'starring' Vladimir Putin, Joe Biden, Tom Cruise and more

Nu metal legends Limp Bizkit have released a disturbing video for Out Of Style featuring deepfaked world leaders...and Tom Cruise barbecuing, for some reason

Fred Durst with Vladimir Putin's face

Limp Bizkit have released a new video, and we're gonna be honest: it's fucking weird and is definitely gonna keep you up at night. Filmed for 2021 track Out Of Style , which was released on the band's sixth studio album Still Sucks in October of that year, the clip sees the band - frontman Fred Durst , guitarist Wes Borland , bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto and DJ Lethal - all performing in a garage together, but with one bizarre and deeply unsettling twist.

Each band member's face has been replaced with a deepfaked version of a world leader, with Russian despot Vladimir Putin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Chinese President Xi Jinping, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un and US President Joe Biden's unmistakable features all taking the place of the faces of our favourite Jacksonville nu metallers. Oh, and also, there's Tom Cruise barbecuing for some reason.

It makes for one of the strangest metal videos you'll watch this or any other year, and yet for some strange reason we just...can't...stop... watching it ?

Check it our for yourself below.

Perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised that Bizkit's latest venture is a little off the wall. This is a band, after all, who have made a career from merging the ridiculous with the straight-up awesome.

Asked by Metal Hammer in 2014 how he felt about Limp Bizkit reaching 'classic band' status, Fred Durst responded: "I appreciate that. If people are saying that, I’m grateful for that feeling to be out in the world. When you’re in the middle of a war, sometimes it’s hard to see what you’re fighting for. If, when the dust settles, people can look back and realise we were about bringing fun and our intentions were good and we were cool dudes who got lucky and we did it our way, that’d be awesome. We didn’t do it as gracefully as others, or as ungracefully as some, and we’re still standing. For better or for worse, we have always just been Limp Bizkit. That’s all we’ll ever be."

Limp Bizkit hit Europe for a spate of tour dates this Spring.

LIMP BIZKIT Uses Deepfake Technology To Include VLADIMIR PUTIN, JOE BIDEN, TOM CRUISE And More In New Music Video

LIMP BIZKIT has released the official music video for the song "Out Of Style" . The clip, co-directed by LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst and Marc Klasfel , uses deepfake technology to show members of LIMP BIZKIT as world leaders — Durst is Vladimir Putin , Wes Borland is Joe Biden , DJ Lethal is Volodymyr Zelenskyy — jamming in a garage while " Tom Cruise " is in charge of the barbeque.

"Out Of Style" is taken from LIMP BIZKIT 's latest album, "Still Sucks" , which came out in October 2021.

Prior to the arrival of "Still Sucks" , LIMP BIZKIT had not released a new studio LP since 2011's "Gold Cobra" , although the band has spent a lot of time writing and recording music over the past decade.

Next month, LIMP BIZKIT will embark on a rescheduled European headline tour, with support from WARGASM and BLACKGOLD . LIMP BIZKIT will also make several U.S. festival appearances this spring and summer, including New Jersey's Bamboozle in May and Ohio's Inkcarceration in July.

Nine LIMP BIZKIT titles have landed on the Billboard 200, including two which topped the chart — 1999's "Significant Other" and 2000's "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water ".

LIMP BIZKIT signed with AGI for North American tour representation in 2021 after announcing that they were canceling all the remaining 2021 shows on their "Post Pandemic Popup Party" tour.

Limp Bizkit deepfake themselves as Vladimir Putin, Joe Biden and other world leaders in ‘Out Of Style’ video

The new video sees the unlikely grouping of world leaders rocking out in a garage together

Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Wes Borland as Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden

Limp Bizkit have shared a new video for their song ‘Out of Style’, which uses deepfake technology to portray numerous world leaders rocking out in a garage together.

  • READ MORE: Limp Bizkit – ‘Still Sucks’ review: the nu-metal dads keep the good times rollin’

The video – directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst and Marc Klasfeld – sees Durst rendered as Russian president Vlaidimir Putin, while other members of the band have their faces superimposed with that of Joe Biden, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong-un.

Together, the unlikely grouping of leaders perform for a deepfaked Tom Cruise as he barbecues hot dogs on a grill just in front of the garage. At one point, Putin chugs from a beer bong as the rest of the crew cheer him on. Watch the clip for ‘Out of Style’ below:

‘Out of Style’ is lifted from Limp Bizkit’s sixth studio album, 2021’s ‘Still Sucks’. It marked the band’s first album in a decade – following 2011’s ‘Gold Cobra’ – and was previewed with lead single ‘Dad Vibes’ shortly before it arrived.

“‘Still Sucks’ doesn’t feel laboured or overthought and never overstays its welcome,” NME said of the album in a three-star review . “Limp Bizkit aren’t out to rewrite their history or reach a new generation. They don’t care if you still think they suck – they still know how to have a good time, and won’t stop rollin.'”

Late last year, Limp Bizkit announced a rescheduled UK and European tour , after postponing their planned 2022 dates due to concerns surrounding Durst’s health. The rescheduled tour will now kick off in Germany in late March, before shows in Vienna, Prague, Frankfurt and Tilburg.

The UK leg will consist of shows in Manchester, Birmingham and London, concluding with a pair of gigs at O2 Academy Brixton. Find remaining tickets for UK dates here .

See LIMP BIZKIT deepfake BIDEN, PUTIN and more in wild new "Out of Style" video

From 1999's iconic " Break Stuff " to last year's goofy " Dad Vibes ," Limp Bizkit have always pulled out the stops when it comes to their music videos. Today, the nu-metal rapscallions added a new clip to their cinematic pantheon, for STILL SUCKS opener "Out of Style." One of the few throwback rap-metal ragers on Bizkit's 2021 album, the song got its video today (February 8th) and it sees the band using deepfake technology to rock out in their garage as world leaders — Fred Durst is Vladimir Putin, Wes Borland is Joe Biden, DJ Lethal is Volodymyr Zelenskyy, etc. — while "Tom Cruise" mans the barbeque. Watch the insanity above.

Co-directed by Durst and Marc Klasfel, the "Out of Style" video comes ahead of a busy few months for Bizkit. In March, the group are set to head across the pond to play their rescheduled U.K. and European headline tour, with Wargasm and Blackgold opening. They're also scheduled to perform at select U.S. festivals this year, including May's Bamboozle in New Jersey and July's Inkcarceration in Ohio.

Limp Bizkit Eyes Tom Cruise For "M:I2" Video

tom cruise in new limp bizkit video

As the members of Limp Bizkit continue to work on their forthcoming album, the group already has plans for its next video, but it's not for any of the tracks on the band's "Significant Other.

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst will soon return to the director's chair to shoot a video for the band's contribution to the soundtrack of the upcoming "Mission: Impossible 2." The "M:I2" album will also find Metallica kicking in a new cut called "I Disappear," a new Rob Zombie song called "Scum Of The Earth," and the Foo Fighters and Brian May teaming to cover Pink Floyd's "Have A Cigar.

In bringing Limp's version of the series' legendary theme song to television, Durst hopes to rope in "M:I2" star Tom Cruise for the clip. [article id="1447066"] "We're going to be out in the middle of the desert, my band, just standing there with our gear on the dirt," Durst told MTV News recently of his plans for the video. "[The] wind's blowing and tumbleweeds.... We're just going to

be looking at each other like, 'What's the deal?' It's going to cut to Tom Cruise in the car with his co-star, the girl [Thandie Newton], and she's gonna go 'So where we goin'?' And he's gonna punch on the navigation system and it's gonna go 'Mr. Cruise will be there exactly in...' and the car's gonna pull right in front [of us]. He's going to get out of the car and sit in a chair, right in front of us, and I'm gonna be like, 'So is the song gonna be in the movie?' And he's gonna go, 'I don't know. Let's check it out.' And we're gonna start performing the song, and he's really unaffected. Pretty much throughout the song he's gonna get more and more into it. By the end of the song, I'm gonna have him dancing like 'Risky Business.'" [RealVideo][/article]

While the plan looks good on paper, a spokesperson for Cruise says that the actor is not yet confirmed to appear in the video due to scheduling conflicts.

The "M:I2" soundtrack is slated to drop in early May, with the film to follow

shortly thereafter.

Wes Borland and Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit.

Limp Bizkit review – nu-metal elders can still rock the party like it’s 1999

Piece Hall, Halifax Fred Durst and co – whose notoriety was recently restoked by a Netflix series about Woodstock ’99 – pound out their irresistibly aggro rebel anthems with cheerful abandon

Y ou would be correct in thinking that Grade I-listed Georgian halls and brazen US rap-metal might make unorthodox bedfellows. Even Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst had his doubts about tonight’s setting. “Halifax, motherfucker!” he shouts. “I had no idea that the energy was gonna be this fucking dope”. Yet the nu-metal elders transform this elegant Calder Valley market hall into a cauldron of irresistible new-millennium noise.

Back in 2000, the Jacksonville quintet’s third album, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, made them one of the biggest bands on the planet, and Fred Durst one of the most contentious characters in music. The band caught some retrospective flak again last year after the release of Netflix’s Trainwreck: Woodstock 99 – a docuseries capturing the carnage of that doomed festival. They were accused of inciting riots during their performance, though Durst has maintained his band’s innocence, saying the organisers were looking for a scapegoat. “All drinks are free for the next 45 seconds but water’s $10,” he quips tonight, in an apparent reference to the festival’s infamously inflated prices.

Now 52, sporting a giant gold chain, oversized football jersey and a bushy, white beard, Durst looks like a rap-rock Santa Claus. “Play something that Tom Cruise would like,” he says to guitarist Wes Borland. He’s referring to the Mission: Impossible-infused Take a Look Around, which ushers in a whirlwind of mosh pits and airborne lager.

They spoil My Way by shoehorning a couple of shoddy Nirvana covers into the mix, and the frequent interludes begin to grate. But an anthemic tonic is never far away. A stormy rendition of Boiler puts the spotlight on Sam Rivers’ dexterous and pensive bass playing.

Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit

Borland is one of modern metal’s most esteemed players – more for his side projects and avant garde solo work – but he’s best known for Break Stuff’s laden, down-tuned riffs. Almost a quarter of a century on from its release, the song remains a rock club floor-filler, with its millennial angst and aggro rebellion. The entire courtyard of the Piece Hall is soon transformed into a sea of bouncing bodies. “Give me something to break!” thousands roar back at Durst.

At this point, Limp Bizkit trade in nostalgia so completely that it’s almost admirable – you could make a lethal drinking game tied to Durst saying “party like it’s 1999”. But when it’s delivered with this much gusto and temerity, resistance is futile.

Limp Bizkit Stretch For World Peace in ‘Out of Style’ Video

Posted on February 9, 2023 by Ricky Aarons

Limp Bizkit Out of Style

In 2021 Limp Bizkit dropped surprise album Still Sucks aligning with Halloween on October 31 . The record was a great comeback of sorts for the band who hadn’t shared a full-length since 2011’s Gold Cobra .

18 months later, Fred Durst  and more or less the same cronies who created seminal record Chocolate Starfish & The Hotdog Flavored Water , have now shared another hilarious music video, this time for Still Sucks ‘ opening track ‘ Out of Style ‘.

Directed by Durst and American music video director Marc Klasfeld , Limp Bizkit  have done a very simple garage clip, except with deepfakes of world leaders Kim Jong-un , Joe Biden , Volodymyr Zelensky , Vladimir Putin , and Xi Jinping .  It is the most typical Bizkit thing they could have done – give it a whirl below and let us know what you think.

With the video, the band have announced the record will finally become available on CD with a Gold Disc edition – strictly limited, as well as a Silver Disc edition. Both will include the record plus a bonus track.
