Llandudno Coach holidays
Tours to llandudno.
Llandudno is a coastal town located on the Creuddyn peninsula and is Wales’s largest seaside resort. It has 2 beaches – the award-winning North Shore and the less-noisy West Shore with its lovely sand dunes. Families have been coming to Llandudno for generations, and on the surface very little has changed in this lovely seaside town.
With its Victorian pier and traditional promenade, you could imagine yourself to be in a bygone era, but don’t be deceived – Llandudno has definitely not stood still! There’s always something to see and do. You could take a trip up to the top of Great Orme, either on foot or on the Tramway, speed around Llandudno Bay in a powerboat or try your hand at kitesurfing. Great fun!

More about coach trips to llandudno.
Llandudno is the perfect coach trip destination that offers a great time for all ages at any time of year. Situated on its own peninsula between the Great Orme and Little Orme Heads, the premier seaside resort of Llandudno boasts two wonderful beaches, as well as an award-winning pier, sweeping promenade and fun cable cars. While there are a lot of things to do in the town, there are even more things to do and attractions to see around Llandudno.
A little bit of history. Evidence of mining has been found here as far back as from the Bronze Age and during the Roman occupation. During the Victorian era, however, the mining trade in the Llandudno area died out, and like so many other towns Llandudno became a popular tourist destination, not only for the upper classes but also for those wishing to briefly escape their work lives. The seaside provided fresh clean air, which was a welcome refreshment from the hard work in mines and factories.
Attractions in Llandudno
Great orme country park.
This stunning country park really does have something to offer all ages. Whether your interests lie in history, bird watching or just walking and enjoying the spectacular views that this wonderful region has to offer. This beautiful place has been designated a special area of conservation, a site of special scientific interest and heritage coast. To reach the top of the headland you can either use a cable car, the tram or by scenic road for cars.
Llandudno Pier
The Pier is the premier attraction to visit whilst on holiday in Llandudno. It a great place to spend time with the family and kids, as it has lots of attractions to see and play. There are also lots of seating spaces with beautiful views at the Great Orme, the bay and the Little Orme. The pier at Llandudno is very well kept and has plenty of space suitable to walk for proms buggies and wheelchairs. Be aware of the seagulls that can easily steal your lunch!
Great Orme Cable Cars
Why not enjoy a ride on the Cable Car during your visit to this sensational resort. The cable cars travel silently from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme over 200 meters up. So, if you’re not afraid of heights, experience these truly amazing views of Llandudno, the Little Orme, Conwy Estuary and endless Iris Sea. And when you finally reach the top you can also enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. But be aware that the cable cars might not be opened on very windy days.
Great Orme Mines
Don't miss visiting the Great Orme Mines, it is an extraordinary historical attraction with an amazing story. These copper mines were discovered in 1987 and represent one of the most astounding and important archaeological discoveries of recent time. And it is thought to be the largest Bronze Age mine, so far discovered in the World. Over 5 miles of explored tunnels, very narrow corridors with a low ceiling, underground galleries and a great experience overall if you are not claustrophobic of course.
Great Orme Tramway
Probably one of the main attractions in Llandudno is the great Orme Tram. Delighting visitors since it opened in 1902, the Great Orme Tramway allows visitors to enjoy a peaceful ride with spectacular views while going up the Great Orme.
Marine Drive
The Marine Drive is a marvellous four-mile scenic drive around the Orme headland with lovely views across Llandudno Bay, the Island of Anglesey and the Conwy Estuary. Driving around the Marine Drive is a memorable experience, however, if you are fit enough you can walk it as well.

Kev is a top driver!
On our trip to Dunoon we had a brilliant driver (Kev) who drove very safely. He told us interesting facts about the places we visited and was always cheerful and entertaining. Our room in the hotel was cold. An extra radiator and a blanket solved the problem. We were on the top floor, hot water took a long time to arrive and was not usually available before 6.30 am. We really enjoyed our holiday and will be travelling with Alfa again.

Hi Amy, Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a great 5* review! We are delighted to hear that everything went well and you enjoyed your break.
Obnoxious Driver
Had the unfortunate and most unpleasant experience of meeting Martin ( we think) in Llandudno ..14/4/2024. What a rude and arrogant driver who was shouting abuse at an 80yr old man who incidentally was parked correctly in a designated spot for that particular Hotel. Martin was rude , swearing obnoxious arrogant and unprofessional. Many people were listening to him from the Hotel.. Not good. The old man was very upset for a long time after. he had been told to park there by the Hotel.

Llandudno - an introduction
Llandudno is affectionately known to most as the Queen of Welsh resorts but its recognition stretches much further than its borders. The English naturist, Charles Darwin, visited Llandudno for part of the 1820's and the popular holiday resort was where author Lewis Carroll fell in love with a girl called Alice, who later became the main character in the famous children's story 'Alice In Wonderland'. For a journey with a difference take a ride on the UK's longest cable car, add a multitude of retail stores with a unique combination of Victorian style and Edwardian elegance and two sunbathe-friendly sandy beaches, and it's easy to see why Llandudno Wales is one of the most popular coach holiday resorts in the UK.
Stroll along Llandudno's crescent promenade or take the hand of your loved one and see the sights upon the longest Pier in Wales then take the weight off your tired feet by savouring a cream tea in the award-winning Victoria Shopping Centre tearoom . No holiday to Llandudno would be complete without a ride on the resort's famous tramway that allows you to see the sights and delights without having to walk too far. At over a hundred years old, the tramway offers an old-fashioned ride up to Llandudno's summit where you can enjoy panoramic views of Llandudno, Little Orme , the Conwy Estuary and maybe even a glimpse of Puffin Island and Snowdonia if you're lucky.
For those looking for some adrenalin-pumping action, head for the slopes and try your hand at sno-tubing or throw on your walking boots and go for a hike through Snowdonia's National Park . Spend the night at the theatre, explore a copper mine dating back to the Bronze Age or enter the world of Art with a visit to Mostyn contemporary art gallery. Llandudno Wales is home to two Blue Flag beaches, the North Shore is a mixture of sand and shingle and is very popular with holidaymakers compared to the quieter West Shore , another beautiful sandy beach just asking for sandcastles to adorn it!
Take a coach to Llandudno starting from only £99 per person and each holiday package includes: return coach travel, accommodation in a quality hotel (except self-drive), meals and excursions depending on the duration of the tour.

We're here to offer a little inspiration for you when considering coach holidays to Llandudno. Here is just a snippet of what you can see and do whilst in North Wales:
Llandudno Pier Constructed in 1878, the Pier is a prominent symbol of Victorian and Edwardian elegance. Stretching a massive 1234ft into the Irish Sea, the Llandudno pier is the longest pier in Wales. The pier has two amusement arcades, in addition to a number of stalls and food and drink outlets; offering the traditional seaside favourites like candy floss, doughnuts, rock and ice-cream.
Great Orme Tramway No visit to the seaside town of Llandudno is complete without a short ride on the Great Orme Tramway. Opened in 1902, this is the only cable-hauled tramway still operating on the public roads in Britain. The Tramway takes you to the summit of Great Orme (679 ft high), offering stunning views across Snowdonia and Anglesey.
RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve Located on the banks of the Conwy estuary, this reserve is a great place to visit all year round. Not only can you observe local wildlife in their natural environment, make sure you drop into the Visitor Centre and find out more about the wildlife you might see. Stop for a bite to eat in the Waterside Coffee Shop that overlooks the lagoon.
Snowdonia National Park Llandudno is very near to the border of Snowdonia National Park, which covers over 823 sq miles and is the largest open space to be found in Wales. The National Park is also home to Mount Snowdon, in addition to a number of picturesque villages such as Beddgellert and Betws-y-Coed.

If you’re from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein you can enter the UK with one of the following identity documents: a passport, an Irish passport card or a national identity card issued by an EU country, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, if you’re eligible to use one. The identity document should be valid for the whole of your stay.
If you’re from outside the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you must have a valid passport to enter the UK. It should be valid for the whole of your stay. You may also need a visa, depending on which country you’re from. Please check here if a visa is required before you travel.
Rumour often has it that author Lewis Caroll met Alice Liddell (who inspired his Alice in Wonderland) in Llandudno. While this is a myth, it is likely that Alice may have read the books while on holiday in the town.

We have a large car park around the back of the Old Board School building, which has the entrance to the distillery.
The Old Board School in Lloyd St was built in 1881. More recently it housed the Conwy Council archive. The building has been fully restored and many original features have been saved, including the parquet floors, wall tiles, roof beams and the old steel banisters.
This is the first time in Penderyn’s history that we have used Peated Barley, and we have commissioned a new Faraday Still, which is what makes Penderyn’s whiskies so unique.
During the hour-long tour you will learn about the founding of Penderyn, the new distillery building, how our award-winning whisky is made and what makes it so unique. See our mill, our mash tun and our innovative single copper-pot Penderyn still. At the end of your tour sample some of our products in our Tasting Bar.

LATE ARRIVAL
Please note that tours start promptly. If you arrive late we will do what we can to accommodate, but you may miss part of the tour
Assistance dogs are welcome at our facilities but owners should be aware that the production environment can be very warm and noisy, and so the dogs temperament and comfort/safety should be considered. Parts of our production facility are set on grid mezzanine floors which may be uncomfortable/tricky for dogs to walk on. Please let us know if you plan to visit with an assistance dog, so that we can arrange to take you around on a slightly different route to ensure your dog remains comfortable. Finally, while assistance dogs are very welcome at our facilities, they unfortunately won’t be permitted to sample our products!
Please note that, while children are welcome to visit the distillery, we are a commercial whisky distillery, producing a product which is strictly, and legally, for adult consumption. We do, therefore, expect parents to use their judgement when considering visiting such a venue as we do not have any facilities to entertain children, and no visitors under the age of 14 are permitted to access our production area. (And please note: 14-17 year olds don't get tastings). Any children brought to the distillery must be supervised at all times and we reserve the right to ask them and their accompanying guardian to leave if they disrupt the experience of our other visitors.
ACCESSIBILITY
Brecon Beacons - Our production area is currently inaccessible to wheelchair users; however, an alternative experience is available.
Llandudno/Swansea - Our production area is available for wheelchair users.
Flat, sensible footwear must be worn by visitors at all times during the tour or Masterclass – flip flops, heels or open-toed shoes will not be permitted.
In the interests of safety, the use of mobile phones, cameras and other electrical equipment is prohibited in the production area; anyone refusing to comply with these rules will be asked to leave the tour.
Please note photos we take may be used for marketing purposes, please let a member of the team know on the day you’re visiting us, if you don’t wish to be photographed.
We are a working distillery and so, for operational reasons, we cannot guarantee that all or any of our plant will be working at the time of your visit. However, you may be able to see into the still and mash tun, which can't be done when we are distilling.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Please remember that we are a food & drink manufacturer and as such must apply stringent checks across all areas of our business. Therefore, we respectfully ask that if you, or a member of your household, are unwell and/or suffering from any gastrointestinal or contagious illness on the day of your visit that you postpone your visit until a later date. This is to ensure that all of our products are manufactured in the safest way possible.
