How can you access British Airways lounges?

Christian Kramer

Airlines offer many perks to their premium passengers in order to retain their business and justify higher fares. These perks typically include access to lounges as well as dedicated check-in areas, fast-track security, priority boarding and priority baggage handling. Some of these perks are more tangible and valuable than others, and access to a lounge to wait for the flight is certainly one of the best perks of premium travel or status.

British Airways offers its premium customers access to 30 of its own lounges globally. These can be found in all major British Airways UK airports, as well as a number of key international destinations that include:

  • London Heathrow Terminal 5 (LHR; our full guide to all LHR T5 lounges is here)
  • London Heathrow Terminal 3 (LHR)
  • London Gatwick (LGW)
  • Edinburgh (EDI)
  • Glasgow (GLA)
  • New York (JFK)
  • Newark (EWR)
  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • Singapore (SIN)
  • Dubai (DXB)
  • and many others

There are four types of British Airways branded Lounges: Galleries Club, Galleries First, Concorde Room and Arrival Lounges.

ba staff travel lounge access

In addition to those 30 BA-branded lounges, at most other airports that British Airways flies to and from, it has arrangements with either another airline or a third-party lounge provider, offering its premium passengers access to around 100 partner lounges.

Generally, access is either granted by flying in a premium cabin (such as business class or first class) or having status with British Airways or a Oneworld airline .

How Can You Access British Airways Galleries Club Lounges?

British Airways' Galleries Club Lounges are the airline's business-class lounges. Access is given to the following:

  • Business class (or first class) passengers traveling on a British Airways or a Oneworld flight. This policy applies to flights on the same day. So whilst most passengers will simply access a lounge before their flight, if you have a connecting flight later on the same day in business or first class but the immediate flight is in economy, you'll be given lounge access if you present your onward boarding pass. The same applies the other way around, for example, if you landed in London on a Club World flight and are connecting on to Amsterdam in economy, you are entitled to access the lounge. The caveat here is that reception staff can be known for making up rules or not understanding the full access rules and thus by simply looking at your upcoming boarding pass in economy, deny access.
  • British Airways Executive Club Silver or Gold Card members or Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status members who can also bring a guest into the lounge.

Passengers need to be over the age of 18 or accompanied by an adult to enter the lounge.

How Can You Access British Airways Galleries First Lounge?

Galleries First lounges are, as the name would suggest, essentially BA's first class lounges. The exception here is London Heathrow Terminal 5 and New York JFK, where the airline offers a Concorde Room lounge for ticketed first-class passengers. The access criteria are very similar to the above:

  • First class passengers traveling on a British Airways or Oneworld flight on the same day — or connecting onwards having arrived in first class. For example, if you arrive in first class from New York and fly on to Barcelona in economy or Club Europe, you'd be eligible to access the Galleries First lounge in Terminal 3.
  • British Airways Executive Club Gold Card holders or Oneworld Emerald members flying on a British Airways or Oneworld flight can also bring a guest.

Again, you'll need to be 18 or accompanied by an adult in order to access the lounge.

How Can You Access the British Airways Concorde Room Lounges in London and New York?

Given the number of BAEC Gold Card and Oneworld Emerald status holders, British Airways has two lounges it reserves for those actually flying in First Class (and a very small number of top-tier status holders): the Concorde Room in Heathrow Terminal 5 and New York's JFK. More detail on how to access the Concorde Room can be found here .

How Can You Access the British Airways Arrivals Lounges?

British Airways offers arriving passengers at London's Heathrow Airport access to Arrivals Lounges. BA operates Arrival Lounges at Terminal 5 and the American Airlines Arrivals Lounge at Terminal 3. Access is reserved to:

  • Passengers arriving on a British Airways or Oneworld long-haul flight in business or first class.
  • BAEC Gold card holders arriving on a long-haul British Airways flight in any cabin.

Bottom Line

Being able to wait for a flight in the comfort of a lounge makes the whole flying experience so much more pleasant. Throw in free food and drink that can often be of restaurant quality, and it's even something to look forward to. Access can typically either be gained by flying in premium classes (business class or first class) or by having status with the airline.

Simple Flying

How to get british airways lounge access in 2024.

Lounge access can be difficult to come by, but worth the effort for a longer visit.

  • British Airways lounge access is mainly for premium passengers.
  • Elite status holders can also access lounges, including additional guest privileges.
  • Exclusive lounges like the Concorde Room have strict entry requirements, including 5,000 tier points.

Among the perks that elite airline status can bring you, access to airport lounges might be the most important in the eyes of many travelers. In recent years, airlines have increasingly begun to gatekeep their many lounges , as overcrowding has increasingly become a noteworthy issue.

Nonetheless, gaining access to lounges is still rather easy to do, especially for established airlines like UK flag carrier British Airways. The airline, a one world alliance member, offers its passengers a number of different options to earn lounge access, making it relatively accessible to the carrier's most loyal tier of customers.

However, there are some things that have changed in recent years with regard to exactly who can access the often sought-after British Airways lounge system. In this article, we will take a deeper look at exactly what you need to do in order to enter the airline's lounges in 2024.

Premium travellers

The extensive British Airways lounge network includes over 30 facilities operated by the airline itself, and another 100 lounges operated by the carrier's partners. Collectively, these form an interconnected network that allows for almost any passenger traveling in business class or first class to access a lounge.

According to the airline , the perk of lounge access does have a few restrictions for premium passengers to be aware of. In order to enter, travelers must be booked in First Class or Club Europe/World (British Airways' respective short and long-haul business class cabins), and be flying that same day on a scheduled flight.

Perks of status

Beyond premium passengers, British Airways also offers access to its lounge network to those holding elite status at the airline. Silver and Gold Executive Club members can enter the airline's business class lounges and can do so whenever they are traveling on a flight operated by British Airways or one of the airline's many one world partners.

Furthermore, the carrier also offers status-based entry permission to those who hold elite status with the alliance as a whole. one world Emerald and Sapphire level members will have full access to the system, and can do so whenever traveling on a British Airways or other one world carrier.

How To Get Alaska Airlines Lounge Access In 2024

There is one additional perk granted to one world Emerald and Sapphire members that is yet to be discussed. Specifically, these passengers are eligible to bring an additional guest with them, provided that the guest is also traveling with British Airways or a partner airline.

Some noteworthy lounges

These statuses alone will not be enough to grant you access to the airline's most exclusive lounges, however. There are extremely strict requirements for entry to the Concorde Room and the Chelsea Room, two of the airline's most extravagant and luxurious facilities at London Heathrow (LHR) and New York JFK respectively.

Upon receiving 5,000 tier points, according to Nerd Wallet , a British Airways loyal member will receive not just Gold Executive Club status but also the coveted Concorde Room card. Only with a Concorde Room card in hand will they be allowed to enter the extremely exclusive lounge, with the added benefit of being able to bring a guest.

British Airways is letting non-revenue staff passengers take onboard amenity kits and pyjamas as part of a series of improvements to help boost morale. Staff passengers, who typically get at least a 90% discount on the usual ticket price, were previously banned from taking onboard goodies as a cost-cutting measure.

The airline will also allow staff passengers to choose a wine from the full selection and they will no longer be barred from making a selection that would require a new bottle to be opened.

In reality, most staff and their friends and family travelling on heavily discounted concessionary tickets were already given an amenity kit and other goodies as part of a longstanding tradition amongst flight attendants, which is common at most airlines, to make staff ‘non-rev’ passengers feel welcome.

A recent internal staff satisfaction survey has made for “sobering reading” and chief executive Sean Doyle is looking to mend a broken relationship with staff after admitting that the airline made mistakes with the way it handled some aspects of initial pandemic response.

Doyle, however, has admitted that the airline won’t be increasing staff wages anytime soon, even as the UK faces a cost of living crisis, so is looking at other minor improvements instead.

For employees who can afford to go on holiday, there will also soon be an opportunity to use the airline’s premium lounges as part of an internal ‘mystery shopper’ scheme whereby staff passengers will report back on the level of service and cleanliness they encounter in the lounge.

British Airways also announced a slew of other minor improvements to the passenger experience on Friday, which is part of a wider effort to make BA a more ‘premium’ airline.

Headline improvements include:

  • A new dedicated check-in zone for World Travellers Plus (Premium Economy) passengers
  • A baggage tracing app
  • A greater variety of meals available in Club Europe (Business Class)
  • A new plant based menu in its premium lounges
  • Water bottle filling stations and removing single-use plastic bottles from premium lounges

“We want to create an even better British Airways and know that we need to keep making changes to the customer experience with things like alternative menus, reducing plastics and introducing new technology to get us to where we want to be,” commented Tom Stevens, BA’s director of brand and customer experience.

“In addition to these improvements, we are also moving ahead at speed with some of the larger initiatives that we promised to our customers, such as the roll out of our award-winning business class seat, Club Suite.”

The airline has also promised to address issues at its contact centres with a new telephone system being installed and more staff being recruited.

Norse Atlantic Sets Up First Flight Attendant Base in Florida, Tickets Go On Sale in Late March

It’s been a while since I’ve flown through LHR so I am not sure if anything has been done. Those fibreglass showers at BA’s T5 lounges are a definite brand destroyer. They look like they were purchased USED from an NHS facility.

Wow I work for airline in the USA, amenity kit wine any food first class are free for non revenue stand by I feel sorry for the employee at BA

Yet you’re not paid for boarding 😂😂 none of this is true, we all have whatever we want on the aircraft!!

I fly NR too but why “sh*t in the nest”? In the current climate I would quite like my airline to stay in profit/be viable. Does one really “need” the vanity kit or is it going to be given to a friend? Airline staff should be well versed in how to travel comfortably. Ditto lounge access, essential for your trip? I don’t think so. Isn’t the reduced cost enough………

Employees that can afford to go on holiday? How f**king rude!!

I take home £2000 a month, I can afford to go on holiday. Disgusting comment!

Staff travel information

BA staff travel loads are not always accurate and should be taken as an 'approximate' guide to availability. It shows the number of listings and priority, but not commercial overbookings, etc. There are also examples where more available seats are shown than the cabin capacity, particularly in J class, due to moveable cabin dividers. Loads become available 72hrs before the departure of the flight.

For details, please see:

www.britishairways.com/travel/bagchk/

Checked baggage

Please note that once you have made a listing on BA (see Flight Listing section above), you can go to ba.com and check the baggage allowance for your specific flight. It is essential to check that information, because that is the allowance which will apply, regardless of what may be on your ticket.

No single bag or piece of baggage will be accepted if it weighs more than 23 kg/51 lbs, regardless of the allowance applicable to the flight on which you are traveling. If you have an item which exceeds that weight, you must re-pack into separate bags. If this results in you exceeding the baggage allowance, you must pay any applicable excess baggage charges.

Duty travel checked baggage

Your allowance will be in accordance with the type of ticket you are using. JIDxxS1 will mean you are eligible to the business class allowance. YIDxxS1 will mean you are eligible to the economy class allowance.

Cabin baggage

One medium bag, maximum dimensions 56 x 45x 25 cm (22 x 17.5 x 9.85 ins), maximum weight 23 kg/51 lbs (but you must be able to lift it into the overhead locker yourself).

One laptop bag OR one briefcase OR one handbag

BA has a dress code which is applied to rebate passengers. Please ensure that your attire is appropriate for the cabin of eligibility.

Seat allocation will depend on how you present yourself. If your attire is inappropriate for the cabin of eligibility, you will be seated in a lower cabin, or may be refused travel.

If there is a need on the day to upgrade on departure to a cabin higher than your cabin of eligibility, those who do not comply with the dress code applicable to the available cabin will not be considered for an upgrade.

Club World and Club Europe cabins

Employees should dress in a smart casual style which may include smart, clean jeans and training shoes.

In any cabin, for comfort on long-haul overnight flights, employees may change into a plain-colored track (running) suit after take off.

Any items of sports or beach wear or any other extremes of leisure wear are unacceptable in any cabin.

Smart national dress or company uniform is acceptable in all cabins.

Listing is required for all flights.

Passengers without a listing will be refused travel.

Important Note

Please note that BA will not accept coupons for different airport pairs. The airport pair on your coupon must match the flight on which you wish to travel.

For travel on flights operated by BA, BA CityFlyer, OpenSkies and the BA Franchisees (Sun-Air and Comair), listings must be made via idtravel.ba.com

Our listing site is not currently able to process tickets that feature other airlines and routes that are not specific to BA.

Please be sure to complete the Flight Choices section on the web-site: this gives our check-in system information to help us allocate seats, for example, whether you are prepared to split across cabins or across flights if you are travelling with other people on the same ticket type.

If you have any problems using the site, please check that your e-ticket has been correctly issued. If you are sure your e-ticket is correct, and are still having problems, please advise your staff travel office.

All airports with self-service check-in kiosks

  • Please present yourself at a self-service check-in kiosk at least 60 minutes before your scheduled flight departure.

  • The kiosk will print a boarding pass, which will show your booking reference: this is key information, especially if you are not allocated a seat number by the kiosk.
  • If the kiosk prints a boarding card with a seat number, this means you have been accepted for the flight; please go immediately to the departures lounge and the gate.
  • If the kiosk prints a boarding card without a seat number, the kiosk will tell you what to do next.

Additional information about Heathrow Terminal 5 You must be through the ticket presentation point by 35 minutes before scheduled flight departure time. This point is immediately before Security. You should only go to the Staff Travel area located behind Zone A in T5 if:

  • You are travelling on a standby ticket
  • AND You have checked in and have a standby boarding pass
  • AND You have had any hold bags tagged
  • AND You have had passport & visa checked where necessary
  • AND It is 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight
  • AND You are the party leader (when travelling in a group Once there, information about acceptance onto your flight will be displayed on the Staff Travel Screens.

Additional information about Terminal 3 Staff passengers traveling to destinations from Terminal 3 will need to check-in at a check-in kiosk on arrival at the airport. There will be no staff travel office in Terminal 3. If a seat is allocated at the time of check-in, those passengers with hold baggage should proceed to a Fast Bag Drop desk to have their bags tagged. Passengers without bags should proceed to security. Passengers who are not allocated seats at the time of check-in should retain their bags and go the to Flight Management Desk. Passengers who are not accepted for their flight and who wish to standby for a later flight on the same day will be automatically transferred to the next flight. Alternatively, passengers will be able to re-list themselves at one of the Employee Self Service (ESS) kiosks available by the Customer Service Desk adjacent to the terminal entrance door.

Changes to Terminal 3 check-in effective 17th September 2015 Check in at a kiosk in Zone D. If you are allocated a seat follow the kiosk instructions to have your bag tag(s) issued. You should then proceed to a bag drop desk. Note: there is no dedicated bag drop desk for staff passengers. If you are not allocated a seat at check-in proceed to the Staff Travel Room located to the right at the rear of the zone. You must check the screen in the office for further information. You may also receive a text message if you have registered your mobile/cell number. If accepted for travel go to a bag drop desk in the main area for your boarding card and baggage acceptance. If traveling with hand baggage only, proceed to the ESS Flight Management Desk to have your boarding card issued and documents checked. If you are not accepted for travel you will be automatically listed for the next flight to your destination if it is on the same day. You should return to the area to check the screens for acceptance. If you do not want to be listed for the next flight go to the ESS Flight Management Desk to advise.

At London Gatwick North Terminal All staff travel colleagues who are not assigned a seat when checking in at a self-service kiosk will remain on standby landside until the flight has closed. Staff travel colleagues will then be on-loaded via a dedicated Flight Management Desk in Zone A

All other airports: If there is a desk signposted for standby travel, go to that desk. If there is no signposted standby desk, go to the World Traveler or Euro Traveler desk.

Duty travel check-in Where kiosks don't exist check in at the counter for the class to which you are eligible, which will depend on whether you have JIDxxS1 - meaning business class, or YIDxxS1 - meaning economy.

Check-in times To allow for the added security procedures now in place, please ensure that you have completed check-in formalities by 60 minutes before scheduled departure time .

Through check-in Through check-in is not available to standby passengers. When planning your trip, please ensure you leave yourself enough time to land and check-in again at any intermediate point.

Once you are waiting for your flight at LHR, you can enter your PNR code at www.britishairways.com/onload on your phone. This will give you your flight status. Refreshed every minute.

When there are two or more interline employees travelling on the same flight, the time of check-in at the station where you are boarding your flight will determine the onload/offload and the cabin upgrade/downgrade order.

Please do not ask any BA staff for an upgrade. If on the day of travel seats are not available in your cabin of eligibility, you will automatically be considered for an upgrade to the next higher cabin depending on commercial and operational needs, and subject to complying with the applicable dress code for that higher cabin.

Special meals

It is not possible to pre-book special meals for rebate passengers. Therefore you and/or your eligible nominees who for any reason require a special diet, must provide your own food, in sufficient quantities to last for the duration of the flight.

Seat requests

  • Seat requests are not permitted on Staff Travel. If the flight is open, the check-in agent may ask if you want an aisle or a window seat, but this depends on availability.
  • Even if you are assigned a specific seat at check-in, this may be changed to accommodate commercial requirements.
  • Please note that staff passengers must comply with requests from BA check-in staff, cabin crew, and flight crew, and must change seats if asked.
  • Use of a safety seat for an infant is not permitted on board for rebate passengers.

Unaccompanied minors

Children under 16 years cannot travel on a rebate ticket unless accompanied by an adult travelling on the same type of rebate ticket.

No special service requirement is permitted when travelling on standby travel.

Amenity bags will not be given to staff who travel in premium cabins. If offered, we ask that you politely decline.

Please remember that for international travel, each passenger must have a valid passport, and must have relevant visas for the destination, and for scheduled points en route, in case off-loading becomes necessary.

Also, some countries require Advance Passenger Information (API), and BA requires that this must be provided before check-in, using the Manage My Booking section of ba.com .

USA: (Secure Flight data item added 18AUG10)

Please note that with immediate effect, our listing website will collect the following data items for all travel to or from the USA before the listing is created:

Gender, First name (as on passport), Last name (as on passport), Date of birth.

This information is sent to the USA authority 72 hours before departure, or at the time of listing if that is within 72 hours.

In addition to API, the USA requires all Visa Waiver passengers to have completed the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) application, ideally at least 72 hours before departure. You do not need to enter travel details or address in the USA, and if approved, the authorization is valid for two years, so it is worth applying well in advance if you think you have any intention of travelling to the USA in the coming two years. If you do not have the authorization, you will not be able to travel on BA to the USA. The link to the web-site, which does show who is included in the Visa Waiver program, is:

The fee you pay depends on the membership you choose. Luckily, lots of credit cards offer complimentary Priority Pass membership. We’ll discuss that in detail below.

Priority Pass Benefits

General lounge amenities.

Enrollment Is Required

If you receive Priority Pass membership through one of the above credit cards, you still have to officially enroll to utilize your benefits. You can’t simply show your credit card and expect entry. Refer to your membership guide or contact your credit card’s customer service staff for help with enrollment.

Paid Membership Plan

If you don’t have a credit card that includes Priority Pass as a member benefit, you can sign up for a membership plan on the Priority Pass website . The pricing varies by country and benefits.

Priority Pass prices

There are 3 membership tiers:

  • The Standard plan has a $99 annual fee. You pay an additional $35 for each lounge visit.
  • The Standard Plus plan has a $329 annual fee, and you receive 10 free visits. Each visit thereafter is $35.
  • The Prestige plan has a $469 annual fee, and you don’t pay an additional surcharge for lounge entry.

On all plans, each guest costs $35. The number of guests you can bring in depends on the lounge.

Priority Pass often offers discounts on its memberships.

Not Sure Which Plan Is Right for You?

Check out this handy table that tells you your lounge entry costs based on how many times you visit a Priority Pass Lounge each year:

If you only plan to visit a Priority Pass lounge 5 times in a year, for example, the Standard plan should suffice. But any number of visits past 5 ends up costing you more than if you had purchased the Standard Plus plan to begin with. And the Prestige Plan is only your best bet if you plan to visit Priority Pass lounges more than 14 times a year.

Why not get a credit card that already includes Priority Pass Select as well as a multitude of other cost-saving benefits, rewards, and perks? A Priority Pass Select membership means free access to thousands of lounges worldwide via a credit card you may already have in your wallet.

If you’re considering a Priority Pass membership and travel often, it’s a lot more cost-effective to sign up for one of the credit cards that offer a Priority Pass Select membership than signing up directly for a membership. Each of these credit cards provides a lot more cost savings and other travel benefits for frequent flyers, so the value outweighs signing up for a direct membership

Priority Pass is consistently expanding its lounge options, meaning you have a decent chance to find lounge access at most places you fly.

How To Access All The Lounges At Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport

  • Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport is home to several lounges to improve the passenger experience.
  • Lounges like American Airlines Admirals Club and United Club at the airport offer various access options for passengers.
  • Minute Suites, United Polaris Lounge, and other lounges at IAH cater to different airlines, offering amenities and access criteria.

Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is among the busiest airports in Texas, United States, having served 40.9 million passengers in 2022. The largest air hub in Houston also houses 27 airlines and offers flights to 187 nonstop destinations. In light of the considerable number of airlines the airport accommodates, it has a wide variety of lounges for passengers. This guide will explore the lounges at IAH airport and explain the ways to access them.

According to IAH’s terminal map, Terminal A houses a total of two airport lounges, including American Airlines Admirals Club and United Club.

American Airlines Admirals Club

Passengers can access the American Airlines Admirals Club lounge based on membership, class of service, or AAdvantage status. Admirals Club members include annual and lifetime members, Citi/AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard primary card members, ConciergeKey members, and AirPass members with Admirals Club privileges.

This lounge is also accessible for first and business class passengers flying with American Airlines international, transcontinental, or other domestic flights marketed and operated by American, a one world airline, or Aer Lingus and operated by the carrier. If you are an American Airlines loyalty member and qualify for AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum Pro, or AAdvantage Platinum membership, this lounge is also available to you.

In addition, one-day pass holders and US military personnel traveling in uniform on a same-day flight operated by American can access Admirals Club. A one-day pass costs $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles and is only available based on the lounge capacity.

United Club

Passengers flying United Airlines business or first class, holders of one-time passes, United Club members, and US military personnel in uniform all have access to the United Club lounge. Here is a complete guide on how to access United Club lounges.

IAH Airport Terminal B is home to just one lounge, United Club.

This United Club lounge is located in the South Mezzanine of IAH Terminal B, positioned above the United Express ticket counter. Operating hours are daily from 5:30 AM to 9:15 PM, as per the airline ( according to the airport information , the lounge is open from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM). In addition to the complimentary bar, light snacks, and free WiFi, this location also offers a conference room.

IAH is a hub airport for United Airlines, meaning that United has a considerable presence at the airport, with its lounge at almost every IAH terminal. Access to the United Club lounge is explained in our Terminal A United Club section.

IAH Terminal C counts three lounges, including Minute Suites and two United Club lounges.

Minute Suites

Minute Suites differ from traditional airport lounges in several ways. They do not offer self-serve alcohol, hot meals, or other amenities typically associated with airline lounges. Minute Suites offer private sleeping areas at the airport. They also provide bathrooms and shower facilities; however, these amenities are communal.

All passengers, no matter the airline they are flying with, can access Minute Suites. According to the company , Minute Suite lounges have customized prices based on location and time spent. According to The Points Guy , a standard rate for a private room costs $55. However, Minute Suites are cheaper for those with Priority Pass because the first hour is free of charge.

United Club (North)

This United Club lounge is located in Terminal C Northern Concourse, close to gate C1, just after security, and is open daily between 5:30 AM – 9:15 PM.

United Club (South)

This United Club lounge is situated in the Terminal C Southern Concourse, close to gate C33, and operates daily from 5:30 AM to 9:15 PM.

IAH Terminal D accommodates the most lounges across the airport, with four lounges: KLM Crown Lounge, The Executive Club, Air France Lounge, and American Express Centurion Lounge. The British Airways lounge used to be located at the airport's Terminal D. However, according to most recent passenger reviews, the lounge no longer exists.

KLM Crown Lounge

Travelers holding Business Class Standard or Flex tickets, Flying Blue Ultimate, Platinum, or Gold membership, or SkyTeam Elite Plus status can access all KLM lounge amenities prior to departure or during their layover.

To enter the lounge, you must be traveling on the same day with a KLM -operated flight, an international SkyTeam-operated flight, or a domestic SkyTeam-operated flight that is connected to an international SkyTeam-operated flight.

According to KLM , passengers flying with Business Class Standard and Flex tickets, Flying Blue Ultimate, Platinum, and Gold members, or those holding SkyTeam Elite Status can access these lounges at no extra cost. However, travelers flying with Business Class Light tickets, Flying Blue Platinum, or Gold members who wish to bring more than one guest will need to pay additional fees between $35 and $50. In addition, Priority Pass holders can also access the lounge.

Air France Lounge (Temporarily closed)

Passengers eligible for free access to the Air France lounge include those traveling in the La Première cabin, Business cabin with a Standard or Flex fare, or holding Flying Blue Platinum, Flying Blue Gold, or SkyTeam Elite Plus status. It's important to note that passengers must travel on an Air France, KLM, or SkyTeam flight departing on the same day. In addition, Priority Pass holders can also access the lounge.

The Executive Club

This lounge serves business or first class passengers flying Air China, Emirates, EVA Air, Lufthansa, and Qatar Airways , according to the airport data.

The Centurion Lounge by American Express

The Centurion Lounge by American Express is accessible and complimentary for American Express Platinum Card or Centurion Members and their immediate family or up to two travel companions. Other American Express Credit and Charge Card Members may purchase a one-day pass at The Centurion Lounge for $50.

Terminal E houses two lounges, including United Club and United Polaris Lounge.

This United Club lounge is located in Terminal E near Gates E11 and E12 and is open daily from 5:30 AM to 9:15 PM.

United Polaris

The United Polaris Lounge is situated in Terminal E, between the United Club location and Gate E12. It operates daily from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Below, find a comprehensive Simple Flying guide to the United Polaris Lounge.

Silver benefits

Changes to your tier point collection period.

We're constantly improving the British Airways Executive Club for our Members, which is why we're changing your Tier Point collection period to make things a little simpler.

An easier, faster way to travel. As a Silver Member, enjoy business class check-in and relax in the tranquillity of our lounges before boarding your flight earlier with priority boarding.

More rewards, sooner

As a Silver Member, you'll collect eight Avios per qualifying pound (GBP) spent whenever you fly with British Airways or American Airlines, and seven Avios per qualifying euro (EUR) with Iberia.

On other one world® airlines it depends on how far you fly, your choice of cabin and which airline you fly with.

Your lounges await

Think of our lounges as your Club rooms, your own personal space away from the hustle and bustle of airport life, where you and a guest can unwind, recharge and prepare for your flight.

With complimentary food and drink and a range of business facilities at over 170 lounges worldwide, you can enjoy a relaxing environment whenever you fly with British Airways or one of our airline partners.

Make your time your own at the airport

Your Silver membership opens up access to worldwide business class check-in desks and priority boarding*, whatever cabin you're flying in. So you can enjoy more time relaxing in the lounge or browsing the shops before you board your flight.

You'll see a group number on your boarding pass which will automatically reflect your priority. As your group will be one of the first to board, you’ll be able to settle in and relax before take-off. If you arrive after your priority group has been called, you can use the priority lane to board at your leisure.

You’ll also receive priority over Blue and Bronze Members on reservation waitlists and airport standby lists, giving you added reassurance on busy flights.

*Priority boarding is not available to Silver Members at London City Airport.

A tailored service

We've included a few thoughtful details to take some of the hassle out of travel for our Silver Members:

  • Free seat selection on British Airways flights from the time of booking for everyone on your booking, excluding exit row seats on long haul flights
  • A checked baggage allowance of two pieces in economy for everyone on your booking, except on our Basic fare that is hand baggage only with no checked baggage included. This benefit also applies to others travelling with you on the booking. Not available on group rate bookings
  • A weight allowance of 32kg (71lb) per checked bag in any travel class. This benefit also applies to others travelling with you on the booking. Not available on group rate bookings
  • A direct line to our dedicated team of customer support staff for when you need to speak with us

Peace of mind with Reservation Assurance

We know there are times when it's absolutely vital you make a flight. Reservation Assurance will provide you with an economy seat on your chosen British Airways flight, even if the flight is full, for some extra reassurance at those important times.

To benefit you just need to:

  • book a full fare, flexible economy ticket more than 24 hours before the flight
  • check in at least one hour before departure

Unfortunately, we may sometimes be unable to offer this service, due to circumstances outside of our control. We're not able to extend this service to your travelling companions, nor can we ensure you're allocated a particular seat.

Keep your Executive Club status while on maternity/paternity/adoption leave

You can apply to keep your British Airways Silver status if you're planning to take maternity/paternity/adoption leave, even though you'll be taking fewer flights during this time. Also, if you enrol your child as part of your household account we'll welcome them with a gift of 1,000 Avios.

To extend the validity of your card for an additional period, all you need to do is send your documentation to us at [email protected] . Once we've verified your documents, we'll send you an email confirming the renewal of your status and walk you through how to enrol your child into the Executive Club as part of a household account.

Sharing your Avios

As a Member, you and up to six other members of your household, including children, can link your Club memberships together for free. You'll continue to collect Avios individually, but we'll pool them for you to spend together, bringing those rewards even closer.

You can also share your Avios with people outside your household, by adding them to your Family and Friends list.

Member-only offers

You’ll be the first to hear our news and take advantage of our Member-only offers.

We'll bring you regular, exclusive deals on luxury holidays and hotels, offers on car rental and experiences, and lots of great new ways to boost your Avios.

Exclusive Gold benefits are waiting for you

We understand that your time is precious — that’s why we’ve developed a range of exclusive benefits to enable our Gold Members to make the most of every second.

To reach Gold, you'll need to fly BA at least four times and earn 1,500 Tier Points.

About Seattle airport lounges

Central terminal: centurion lounge and uso center, concourse a: delta sky club, united club and the club at sea, alaska airlines lounges in seattle, concourse s: british airways lounge and the club at sea, final thoughts on seattle airport lounges.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (more commonly known as Sea-Tac or its airport code, SEA) is among the nation’s busiest airport facilities and has been named the best airport in North America in consecutive years by air transport rating agency Skytrax.

In addition to ongoing improvements to the airport’s infrastructure, the traveler experience has been enhanced with expansions and renovations of the airport's lounges.

Here’s what you need to know about Seattle’s airport lounges, including how to gain access and what you can expect once you’re inside.

SEA is a hub for Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and serves dozens of other carriers on domestic and international routes. The facility has four main concourses (A, B, C and D) that connect at the Central Terminal, as well as two satellite concourses (N and S for North and South) that are accessible only by tram.

There are 10 Seattle airport lounges, including at least one in every concourse except for B.

If you’re flying in a premium cabin, have airline elite status or hold a credit card with airport lounge access , there’s a good chance you’re eligible for complimentary admission to at least one Seattle airport lounge. If not, many lounges have day passes available for purchase.

Most lounges require you to show government-issued identification along with a same-day confirmed boarding pass. In some cases, admission is restricted to three hours before departure. All lounges in the Seattle airport offer complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and bathrooms not accessible to the general public, as well as the other amenities listed below.

The recently renovated Central Terminal is the hub of the Seattle airport, with abundant shops, restaurants and other services close at hand.

The central location makes it convenient for departures, but it’s a bit of a haul from the more far-flung gates, so plan accordingly if you’re connecting.

There are two lounges here: one airside and one landside.

AmEx Centurion Lounge in Seattle

Located on the mezzanine level overlooking the south end of the Central Terminal, airside from security checkpoint 3.

Complimentary access with the Centurion Card, The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express when traveling on any airline, and with the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card when traveling on a Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight. Terms apply.

Centurion cardholders have no time restrictions. Other cardholders may enter up to three hours before a scheduled departure or up to three hours before the lounge closes (with a scheduled departure after that time). Connecting passengers may enter upon arrival.

You must present your valid, eligible AmEx card and physical government-issued ID for access.

AmEx opened this spacious lounge in February 2023, more than tripling the size of the previous location in the B concourse. Visitors can enjoy a buffet of hot and cold dishes and a coffee bar with lighter fare, a full-service premium bar, shower suites, private phone rooms and more.

With the recent upgrades, the AmEx Centurion Lounge is arguably the best lounge in Seattle airport history, and its location at the heart of the Central Terminal makes it the most convenient airport lounge Seattle has to offer.

The three lounges in Seattle airport Concourse A are accessible from Concourse B either on foot or via the SEA Underground tram. The Delta Sky Club is only seconds from where the B concourse begins.

Delta Sky Club in Seattle

Departing passengers may enter up to three hours before scheduled flights; connecting passengers may enter at any time.

Passengers booked in Delta One on domestic or international flights (excluding the Caribbean) or in a SkyTeam partner’s premium cabin receive lounge access.

These cards include the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card , the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card , the Centurion card and The Platinum Card® from American Express . Some premium class flyers or elite status holders with LATAM, Virgin Atlantic and WestJet also can receive access to the Sky Club lounge.

Finally, annual memberships to all Delta Sky Clubs are available for purchase by Medallion status holders . Prices start at $695.00 or 69,500 SkyMiles for an individual membership. Note that even if you hold a membership, you won’t be able to access the lounge if you’re flying in basic economy — unless you also hold an eligible American Express credit card.

Effective 2/1/25, Reserve Card Members will receive 15 visits per year to the Delta Sky Club. Visitors can enjoy hot and cold buffets with packaged snacks to go, self-serve coffee and soft drinks alongside a full-service bar, shower suites, a concierge desk and other amenities.

The location is convenient if you’re flying United but less so if you’re departing from another concourse.

Alaska Airlines offers three Seattle airport lounges near C, D and N gates.

You can take the SEA Underground tram or walk directly between the C and D concourses. The N concourse is accessible only by tram.

Alaska Lounge (C gates)

Located on the mezzanine level by gate C16 at the end of the C concourse.

Complimentary access for Alaska Lounge members and immediate family (spouse or domestic partner and children under 21) or up to two guests; American Airlines Admirals Club and Concierge Key members; first class passengers on Alaska-operated flights over 2,100 miles; first and business class passengers on international Oneworld flights over five hours; some Alaska Airlines and Oneworld elite members; and others .

Active-duty U.S. military personnel may also be eligible for complimentary or discounted access.

You can purchase Alaska Lounge or Alaska Lounge+ membership at a $100 discount if you are an MVP Elite in the airline's Mileage Plan loyalty program.

This lounge reopened in late 2022 after renovations that added 3,000 square feet, making it less prone to overcrowding during peak hours.

The space offers panoramic views of the airfield and the Olympic Mountains beyond, making it an ideal stop for planespotters. Amenities include a relatively modest hot and cold buffet, a full-service bar and a concierge desk.

» Learn more: Great hotels where #avgeeks can planespot up close

Alaska Lounge (D gates)

Located airside from security checkpoint 4 near where the C and D concourses intersect.

This lounge’s proximity to the Central Terminal makes it the most convenient of the Alaska Lounges for those flying out of the A, B or S concourses. The trade off is that this location is the least scenic of the three, as it looks out on the apron between the C, D and N gates.

Though you can purchase day passes to Alaska lounges in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York-JFK, they are not available at the Alaska Airlines lounges in Seattle.

Renovated in 2023, the dual-level space offers an expanded buffet with hot and cold options, a barista station on the main level and a full-service bar with local craft brews and West Coast wines.

Alaska Lounge (N gates)

Located on the mezzanine level of the N concourse above gates N13-18.

Serving as Alaska’s flagship lounge in Seattle, this location is the largest of the three at over 15,000 square feet. The layout has floor-to-ceiling windows and a wide variety of seating arrangements to accommodate parties of all sizes, including booths, recliners and private wingback chairs.

Amenities include a self-serve hot and cold buffet, a full-service coffee bar and a premium bar with local beers on tap, and a concierge desk for travel assistance.

» Learn more: The best credit cards for airport lounge access

The S concourse offers two lounge options for its 16 gates. You can’t get there on foot, so you’ll need to take the SEA Underground tram from the A or B concourses. Look for airport transit signs between gates A3 and A4 or at the end of Concourse B near gates B10-15.

British Airways Terraces Lounge

Located on the mezzanine level of Concourse S; look for the elevator near gate S9.

Complimentary access for first and business class passengers on British Airways and other Oneworld airlines; British Airways Executive Club Silver and Gold members; and Oneworld elite members traveling on Oneworld airlines.

Most access permits entry for one guest. Infants under age 2 may enter for free.

British Airways plans to refresh this lounge with a new bar and enhanced menu offerings. In the meantime, amenities include self-serve snacks and beverages, a modest full-service bar, shower facilities and a business center.

The lounge enjoys a view of the south end of the airfield and the Olympic Mountains beyond. The separate business and first class lounge areas have similar amenities, though the smaller first class section tends to be less crowded.

Formerly a Delta Sky Club, this space was rebranded and redecorated in 2022 to provide a second location for The Club lounges in the Seattle airport. At more than 8,000 square feet, this lounge provides seating for 165 with windows looking out over the south end of the airfield and (on a clear day) Mount Rainier.

Amenities include a modest self-serve buffet with hot and cold options, a full-service bar with signature cocktails and local craft beers, shower suites and a separate TV lounge.

While Seattle's AmEx Centurion Lounge and Delta Sky Clubs offer premium lounge experiences, all of the Seattle airport lounges provide the opportunity to relax, refresh and connect during your travels.

This card also has several tools and features designed to simplify expense management and corporate travel. It offers integration with popular accounting software, including QuickBooks online, NetSuite, Xero and more. When employees book through the travel platform it automatically tracks the receipts. You can also set card limits or merchant category restrictions to align with company policies.

How do corporate cards differ from small business cards?

The key differences between corporate and small business cards are how you qualify and what type of business the card is designed for. Small business cards usually require a personal guarantee and personal credit check, whereas corporate cards do not. Corporate cards typically require the business to have a specific legal structure, minimum revenue or cash holdings or a certain minimum number of employees.

Is it hard to get a corporate credit card?

Corporate credit cards aren't necessarily hard to get, but your business typically needs to be larger than a small business with just a couple of employees. To qualify for a corporate card, you could need 15+ employees, a minimum of six figures in annual expenses or a large sum of money in the bank.

Does a corporate credit card hurt your credit score?

If your employer issues you a corporate credit card it won't have an impact on your personal credit score. Corporate card activity isn't tied to your personal credit report.

Bottom line

Corporate credit cards are designed for larger businesses and often offer additional services beyond just credit card rewards. If your company is at the point where managing small business credit cards is becoming tedious, the features offered by the best corporate credit cards may be able to save you time and money.
