Meet Your Captain

Ray holds a USCG OUPV Captains license certification to 100 miles offshore. Originally from New Jersey, Captain Ray has over 40 years of boating experience on the the east coast United States, including Barnagat Bay NJ, offshore to Atlantic City, Chesapeake Bay Maryland, Hudson River, Lake George NY and Florida.

Ray has been in Florida for over 20 years boating and exploring Ft. Lauderdale, Islamorada, Marathon, SW FL Gulf of Mexico, Estero Bay, Sanibel, Marco Island, Naples, Captiva, and points north as far as Englewood and Palm Island.

As a 2nd mate, Captain Ray also served on customers 82 Viking to Marathon and the Bahamas. Ray lives here on the Island here with his wife and sometimes 1st mate Donna.

In their 40 years of marriage Donna has accompanied Capt Ray in many hours the aforementioned .

Your private tour will take place on one of two boats. Dolphin Dancer (Departs from Bonita Springs), or Mandy Girl (Departs from Snook Bight Marina Fort Myers Beach). Each boat comes with full amenities including restroom facilities, music, GPS, swim ladders, coolers, VHF radio, and shade for those who want to just sit back and relax.

Will we go fast?

Back bay trips and harbor tours are all “no wake” this means we go slow to protect the manatee and wildlife in that particular area. Island trips we will “jump on plane “ in the gulf and intercoastal and cruise at 25-30 mph to our destination.

Does the boat have shade?

Both boats have some shade – see boat descriptions

We appreciate your arrival 15 minutes prior to sail time, this will give time to board and stow your gear. Our goal is to give all allotted time on the water. We must keep to a schedule on short or ½ day trips.

What if I get sea sick?

If you are prone to sea sickness we suggest taking Dramamine the night before and possibly morning of according package directions. We may suggest avoiding the island excursion trips as the gulf may get choppy at times.

Can we smoke?

Smoking is not permitted on board for safety reasons, however we can stop along the way if you wish. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited, in the event of an infraction, we will return to the dock without refund and trip will end.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

Yes there are marine “heads” on both of our boats, and they should be used only for liquid waste. There are also places along the way where we can stop.

Will we definitely see dolphin?

These friendly creatures are wild, we cannot predict where or when we will see them, however there are so many here in Estero Bay it is rare that we don’t.

On short trips (2 hrs or less) we see dolphin at least once 90% of the time.

On longer trips (over 2 hours) we see dolphin at least once 99% of the time.

Manatee are harder to spot and not as plentiful as the dolphin but we do see them frequently.

What if it rains?

We will go in light rain as our rains don't typically last very long. If there is a threat of lighting, we won't go and we will need to reschdule.

What should I bring?

You may bring anything you like to eat or drink on any trip ( we will have a cooler with ice for your use) we suggest canned beverages – no bottles or glass please.

The two-hour eco tour allows you to encounter the awesome animals that thrive in these local waters. Passengers may see dolphins, manatees, birds, and more as we cruise along through the various water ways of Fort Myers.

Our captains absolutely love their job and making sure everyone has a wonderful dolphin watching experience in Fort Myers Beach. Whether they’re sharing fun facts about our favorite playful mammal or sharing the history of our area, our dolphin adventure tours are fun, educational, and unforgettable.

The only requirement for our Fort Myers Beach Dolphin & Wildlife Cruise is a sense of adventure!

Our boat is equipped with a restroom on board, has a full bar and is handicapped accessible.

We guarantee to see Dolphins! If for any reason we don’t see any, we will issue a rain check that is good for 1 year to come back and see them! Sorry no refunds.

Best dolphin cruise we have been on- we saw lots of dolphins and interacted with them. Captain Ken and Val were friendly and knowledgeable.

Captain Ken was so knowledgeable and such a fun person. We found lots of dolphins and he gave lots of time to take pictures and watch the dolphins play. Val was so friendly and helped find the dolphins. She is a great bartender. We would definitely do this tour again!!

Last weekend, I took a girls trip to Ft Myers with my mom and daughter. We decided that the dolphin & wildlife adventure cruise might be fun, and I am so glad that we decided to book this. Captain Ken and Val definitely made this a fantastic trip. The best part was some dolphins that were playing in the boat's wake...everyone on the boat was just in awe. So amazing!! It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Ft Myers! We can't wait to go back!

We had a great time on the dolphin cruise. It exceeded our expectations. The dolphins came right up to the boat and we got wonderful photos and video. The staff were kind and attentive. Also, great views of the houses in Fort Myers Beach, with commentary by the captain along the way.

We got up close to so many dolphins and watched them jump in the boats wake. So much fun for myself, my parents, and my toddlers loved it!! When we come back to the fort myers area we will definitely be doing this again!!

The Shell Factory in North Fort Myers

This Old Florida-style attraction packs a lot into its sprawling 18 acres: A zip line, a nature park, a staggeringly huge gift store, bumper and paddle boats, a restaurant, miniature golf, a petting farm, a videogame arcade and a whole lot more.

The Shell Factory Nature Park features about 350 exotic animals, including iguanas, porcupines, peacocks, alligators, lemurs, alpacas and goats.

'Ding' Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island

The Sanibel Island refuge is a haven for wildlife photographers and nature lovers. Especially its popular Wildlife Drive.

That four-mile, one-way road takes motorists, cyclists and hikers through parts of the 6,300-acre preserve. "Ding" Darling is home to more than 200 species of birds, alligators and other animals.

Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers

Renowned inventor Thomas Edison and car manufacturer Henry Ford used to live right next to each other on Fort Myers' McGregor Boulevard. Now the friends' riverfront, Craftsman-style homes are a popular tourist attraction.

The Edison & Ford Winter Estates property includes a museum and Edison's former laboratory filled with his original test tubes, beakers and machines. That's where he and his workers tested more than 17,000 plant species while searching for a natural source of latex to produce rubber.

Wonder Gardens in Bonita Springs

Southwest Florida's oldest roadside attraction has gone through many changes since opening in 1936 as the Everglades Reptile Gardens. Now it's a botanical garden and wildlife refuge that's home to more than 300 rescued, rehabilitated and non-releasable animals.

That menagerie includes alligators, flamingoes, parrots, turtles, tortoises and Chinese golden pheasants. The attraction also features hundreds of native and exotic plants: Fruit and nut trees, palms, orchids, water lilies, ferns and even Ylang-Ylang trees (the scent used for Chanel No. 5 perfume).

Manatee Park in east Lee County

Why go to this 17-acre park? The answer's right there in the name: You go to see the beloved Florida manatee. When the temperature drops below about 68 degrees, those "sea cows" like to hang out in the warm waters of the Orange River and a Florida Power & Light Plant discharge canal.

The manatees come and go as they please, so call or check the park website to make sure they're present before you go. The best viewing times are November through March, particularly on cool mornings and winter days.

Manatee Park also features a butterfly garden, a playground, a gift shop, picnic shelters and a fishing pier on the Orange River (saltwater license required).
